[applause] david: is the president right? let's put it to our panel, liz peek, scott manufactur martin ct wolf. do you agree with the president? >> i think yes. let me start, i think that the economy is doing great, we have enormous energy productiontion and job creation. look how far we are into the cycle. there is so much good news. as to what might derail it, clever move by the president to put it on the democrats if things fall off. i to think that though, we could have politics, and all of these investigations that house has vowed to launch interfere with the mood of the country, the sentiment, a lot has been about

sentiment. i think that there something there. >> it is a miracle compared to what we had a few years before, previous 10 years. in terms of what could derail it, not so. the investigations, i don't think most people take them too seriously by now. but what could do it is a trade war with china. a trade war with our european partners, putting sales taxes on par imports and -- car imports and the like, every time it looks like we're in the green with china, the market responds, then people have doubts the markets take a pause. >> come on, economic miracle? this is ridiculous. we're not an economic miracle. we're having a good economy that is going along at 2.5% gdp . we have seen gdp post recession north of 5%, auto sector slowing down, housing slowing down, we

just did a farm bailout because of the tariffs. i am all for a good economy. i think that president has done a good job on the economy but this is not a miracle, we're around same average we've been. we're in the right trajectory but this is not a miracle. we should be brutally honest. >> in terms of recovering from a recession, normally you get a boost, we never got that under barack obama, like an automobile we were at 20 miles an hour, we're at 50, we could go 80, this better than before, i'll take it. >> steve forbes who used to be a fiscal hawk. >> for growth, i want growth. >> robert, i think you just admitted what we know, the economy was giving up decent, passable numbers during obama administration it was like a a recession, thank you for come toth the table for that we did see good growth numbers out of this languishing business

up on growing our economy. i say one thing that is surprisingly good right now, we're doing well inspite of the global slowdown. a year ago, a year and a half ago, everyone in the world was accelerating in part because of what was going on in u.s., we going it alone that is good. david: there was a dramatic change in economic policies from past administration to this one. when we usually go into a recession we see lower tax rates, obama administration raised tax rates and increased number of regulation, donald trump has done the opposite, don't you think that had manage to to with the increases growth. >> and may i add he threw obamacare into the mix, all kinds of employers thought twice about hiring people, what a disastrous thing to do. >> i guess you all i think it is a miracle, i hope we get better.

pelosi hinting we may be closer to a border deal. after last night president trump's push for the border wall. chuck fleishmann on the bipartisan committee working on the deal. he is joining us now, congressman thank you. we have been hearing a lot of reports that we're inching closer to a deal, how close? >> i don't know how close we are. but we're making tremendous progress. optimisoptimist in me, said if t people who are reasonable in a room, keep leadership out of the room, and let us do our job, we would be able to get it done. these are most reasonable people in congress, talented people in house and senate. i think we're inching closer. most telling thing is if you see where speaker pelosi was at the inception, she was no, no, and
