"the evening edit" starts right now. welcome to the show. you are watching the fox business network. we begin tonight with president trump clarifying his comments on otto warmbier. he's the american student who was murdered by north koreans. the allegation is he died from severe injuries suffered at hand of north koreans. brake berman is at the white house. reporter: the white house having to defend comments by president trump at the press conference in vietnam. he said he doesn't believe kim jong-un knew at the time about the detainment of otto warmbier. doctors said he was unresponsive and had brain damage.ook issue with the president's comments

march 1 is when meteorological spring starts. march 1 and june 1. today is the first day of it. and we certainly have winter. we barely thanked winter across much of the eastern seaboard. not the case in the west. we had incredible amounts of moving in earnest overnight. we saw up to 24 feet of snow across the higher elevations. but watch how this plays out. it pulls out into the central part of the plains bringing a swath of snow in kansas and missouri. severe weather down across at south. this what we are watching.

potentially a big storm sunday night into monday. we have a couple shots of snow. one of them we saw a little bit last night. that moves out of here throughout much of the day tomorrow. a quick breezy snow tomorrow evening. what happens with that one? we can't say exactly just yet. that's the center of the storm. the coastal storms which we have not had a single coastal storm nor easter all season long. the center of the storm is still over the pacific ocean. we don't have observation pints on that. we'll see snow likely across the interior sections by the time we are done with this. this is how it plays out. rain across the south. and snow in across areas of the northeast. how much?

the show. what do you think of the cpac's call to arms to squash for socialism? >> what's been happening in my country and here in america with the democrats is a new wave, a really serious hard left. socialism is one word. marxism as far as week ago and i think it's right to talk about this. they are too many young people who are tempted by this ideology tempted by the concept that everything comes for free. i would remind them that all you need to do is look at venezuela to realize it. liz: or look at your own country, right nigel? >> in the 1970s i grew up in a socialist country. i sought money fleeing britain and i saw talented people fleeing britain. i saw the country really sinking down. mrs. thatcher came in and changed everything by giving us

capitalism and cutting taxes. i have lived there that night seated in my lifetime. it's very important the doctrine of socialism is challenged and it's pretty clear that's where democrats are going. liz: nigel lets get your reaction to what vice president mike pence had to say about this when he addressed cpac. >> you know margaret thatcher probably said it best. the trouble is socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. liz: there's a footnote to that nigel. here's what's happening right now to your point of alexandra cortez threatening members of her own party that if the democrats over their public and she's going to take names. this is the fact that the hard left cannot moderates out of their seats? srgs thing will happen in 2020. nancy pelosi is not having any of this. what's your take on what's going on there? >> i take on it is this. many have the really hard left marxist type socialist not only

sound bite that polling shows clearly when people learn more about it they learn they will have to ditch their own private insurance and their taxes are going to double for it etc., the polling shows nothing. this is the beginning of the rollout of a program which as you point out is really draconian. i'm surprised they went as hard tack on this as they have because all you have to do is read up on what's going on in canada, what's going on in the uk and find out that this doesn't work very well and by the way in both of those countries there are private options. they are talking about no option at all. liz: that's the point. the criticism of medicare for all they are being misleading. they are misleading the american people. look at the amount of fraud government waste and medicare right now in medicaid. health care system why they are rand corporation $350 billion
