border reaching tipping point. look at this new video coming us this evening. it's showing the lengths in which central american migrants are willing to go to get into our country, to get into our country illegally. this group of nearly 200 was and prehengded trying to cross the arizona border in coordination with suspected smuggling rings. the homeland security chief kirstjen nielsen is out with a dire warning. >> there is no manufactured crisis at our southern border. there is a real life humanitarian and security catastrophe. we are on track to interdict nearly 100,000 migrants this month alone. the situation at our southern border has gone from a crisis to a national emergency to a near

system eyed * meltdown. trish: that's a pretty harsh tone. a near nationwide * meltdown. do you agree is it nearing a system-wide meltdown? >> 100%. we are seeing areas breaking down, bending if not breaking under the strain. we routinely see groups of 100 plus. we see them daily and it pulls us away from our regular duties of patrolling the border to stop drugs from coming in and people with criminal backgrounds. trish: the viewers can see hundreds of people, including a lot of people running towards our border there in arizona.

mexico-arizona border. they are being escorted by these coyotes. it seems brazen to me. is this different than what you would have seen in years past? is it reaching a level in its brazenness that's unusual? >> the cartels have figured out a way, the loopholes in the system and found a way to complete the smuggling process. they know once they get here we'll release them on their own recognizance. they just take them to the closest point and point them our direction and they know their job is done. trish: the coyotes themselves, talk to me about these groups, how much money they are making off these individuals and the danger these individuals are putting themselves in by engaging with the coyotes.

>> they charge $5,000 to $10,000 to bring somebody from central and south america. the further away you go, the higher the price. it's become more lucrative than drug trafficking. the only reason the coyotes are bringing them up at a certain time, they know they are running groups and drugs around the country around us when they are having to concentrate on these large groups. there is two things. we need that barrier to prevent those trying to come in undetected. then we need a change in the law. right now people are taking advantage of the asylum process. most of of them when we initially encounter them. they tell us they are here for work or whatever their case is. once they get into the station, then the story changes and it becomes about something totally different. a lot of them are gaming the system. this has been going on since

organization. you have not become a true hard-core member until you have done these things. this is isis level stuff. these are the worst of the worse. you say half of the gang members that have been apprehended at the border are for ms-13. those are the ones we know of. consider those 200 folks that were rushing the border. they wanted to be caught. what i know in the military fist your enemy is approaching they will create diversion. they want you to be focused on one side so they can take advantage of sow where else. if you are a coyote or ms-13 member you have the money and connections to get to the country. you send the women and children over here, they rush the border. you hope the agents are over there so you can sneak in your transnational gang member buddies a half mile up the road.
