>> we have a -- a crisis and congress has to step up. susan: a million are expected to cross the border this year according to homeland security. if they know that people are released across the border toifnlt s., what message does that send? >> it send a message that you can game the system. it sends a message that you don't have to abide by the laws in the united states. part of the problem is, if the first thing people are doing when they come to the united states is break our laws, what makes anybody think they will think that the other laws of the united states are important and they need to follow those laws. how many more united states citizens have to be killed by drunk drivers who are illegal aliens. how many more do we have to face until we actually step up and say there is a problem. we need to address this problem.

people getting in that we don't know who they are. it's like brandon was saying. it used to be mexican nationals that would be caught over and over. now you have other than mexicans. so you have a lot of people coming in that we have no idea who they are. susan: el paso has modern tall borders and walls and if there is an influx of 500%, can you imagine places where there are no walls? >> in arizona along the border we have places where there is a single strand of wire. we see drugs, human trafficking, all kind of humanitarian issues coming across. this is a real deal. and our problem -- i can't get congress to move on it. we have people in congress who say there is no problem. susan: if they head down to the southern border maybe they could see the it for themselves as the

homeland security secretary kirstjen nielsen has said. why isn't congress happening? what do they think is happening at this point? >> we have one of our parties be the democrat part i says there is no problem it's a manufactured problem. in the quiet moment they say we can't let president trump have a political win. they are playing politics versus national security. and within the republican party we have people who don't understand the magnitude of the problem. that's why i take congressmen down to the border every chance i can so they can see what's going on. susan: the latest news is we don't even detain them anymore. it's catch and release. once they come in they are released. they don't go to their court date, and they are inside the border and you can't track them

i'm with you all the way. susan: president trump signing an executive order to insure anybody, anyone on a college campus has a right to the first amendment freedom of speech after a series of troubling incidents across the country. my next guest is a survivor of one such attack. hayden williams was assaulted because of his views on the u.c. berkeley campus. hayden williams was at the order signing today. you were brought up on stage and president trump said you have taken a hard punch in the face for all of us. do you think the executive order really changes anything? >> i really do. it was a great honor to be recognized again by the president today. it's even counseling to know we have him on our side and fighting for us and our rights.

susan: freedom of speech. that's in the constitution. i don't understand why there needs to be an executive order to enforce this on college campuses. >> it was great to meet so many other young people who had their free speech rights violated. there is a culture and college campuses everywhere where conservatives are pretty much not allowed to express themselves. susan: how did we get here, head be? freedom of exchange, isn't that what college is about, having an open forum where you can talk about different ideas and accept different views? >> i believe so. college campuses are where the free exchange of ideas should happen the most of. we got here over a long period of time with speech codes and political correctness kind of

ramped up the non-sense and censorship around this culture. >> let's talk about that incident on u.c. berkeley's campus. obviously something we discussed on fox and fox business. take me through that day. what happened? >> i was invited by some student to help them recruit, and they wanted to protest against this hate crime hoax that targeted conservatives and trump supporters even based on a lie. we were out there peacefully protesting, and these two individuals didn't like what our signs had to say which was pretty timid signs. god bless america, we support our president, this is maga country, hate crime hoaxes hurt real victims. they tipped over my table and it was a frightening experience.

students about their rights and why it's wrong that we should -- we shouldn't accept this as a standard. we need to hold -- especially in academia -- to a much higher standard. as president trump said they receive billions of dollars every year. berkeley alone receives a quarter billion dollars. i think we spent almost $30 billion in 2017 just on research dollars from the federal government to the institutions that aren't upholding the rights of people on campus to express themselves whether they are conservative or otherwise. susan: i think you should go back to u.c. berkeley. you don't need to wait for the invitation. get back out there and stand up for your conservative rights. >> it's encouraging and it's good to know we have the

could the pressure be getting to maduro? >> what maduro is trying to do is disassemble guaido's team to weaken guaido. one is to weaken guaido and the other is maduro is testing the international community's response to this. if it's just words and tweets that come out of this, it will embolden maduro and he could be preparing for a bigger move against guaido himself. we need to make sure senate we can back up the international community, the international community can back up the words and tweets with some type of diplomatic concerted action, a sophisticated response that can show the venezuelan people that maduro's days are numbered.

intervention? >> it's always a tipping point there, a fine line between letting the problem resolve itself with external support and getting inside and getting into that tar pit and fixing it from the inside out. i advocate for the use of military force in particular to bring in humanitarian aid, medical, clean water, supplies to the people in the outlying region and a surgical strike that can prevent maduro from doing the times of things he's doing against some of his more elite forces that protect him and execute these raids. susan: turning to the humanitarian crisis continuing to unfold in venezuela. families say they haven't had run water in their homes for months now thanks to a lack of maintenance by maduro's socialist regime.
