5:03 pm
david: should the government be regulating boeing even more? >> the aftermath of the statement the answer is yes and even though they have a lot of facts on the side the fact you have these two crashes that may seem slow in responding, receptions are key in a situation like this and they didn't respond quickly enough. they should've known from the first crash may be a software problem. maybe not on the side of safety on behalf of the curve instead of having this hearing today. >> what a conflict of interest. there have been numerous reports without the faa certified a plane and say it's airworthy. we know that if he allows the actual engineers were involved seeing as the airplane is safe to fly. that's not how it should work. employee should not be telling the government that the airplane is airworthy.

5:06 pm
and that she can't be safe enough and not the bottom line. when you're in the public eye, especially when you're one of two companies you can't be too cautious. >> you have to have a pretty cynical view of corporate america to think without regulators, boeing would make every effort to make the people who fly planes safe as possible. this is its livelihood. it will take years for them to regain trust i'm afraid. people are flying the specific line. the overnight switch where it takes. it takes years to gain out. >> 364 lives were lost in the last five months. steve says he can never be too safe online service taken family and anonymously just a very sad story. >> from a consumer standpoint, the reality is this information spread and from what i understood this is the max eight, but there is a lot of

others on there. this could have a contagion effect and not just to these particular planes affect it, but to fine on a much broader scope and that's going to be devastating for the airlines and for the public in productivity. this is something they do need to get ready. david: remember, foreign governments holding onto these black ox is that to give the faa more information. they are concerned that it's going to show there was a certification problem here. the foreign governments, foreign airlines in one case a pilot didn't have much experience at all behind the wheels of this jet as it went down. it's too early to say who's to blame but to blame, but the point is foreign governments are very reluctant to give all the information they have about it because it could look down on them. the mac in terms of the flying public i think they would much rather fly in a boeing made plain in a plane made in china or russia or some other would need playmakers.
5:08 pm
plus, the appetite for flying is going to grow exponentially as you get more and more middle-class around the world especially asia. the appetite for aircraft is still enormous. boeing will do well but it has to show and will go the extra mile every time they need the extra mile. >> it remains a duopoly. certified your weight. the one country that wants him very much as china. they have a plane they're going to do other orders are now coming from china. >> it's not things that have questions for multiple decades. also to have one comment on those years ago in the 1950s they stayed in production for decades after questions of safety and design. is this the end? i don't think so. david: go ahead, carol. >> it also goes like you were mentioning i think not only do consumers want to fly on planes that are manufactured in the u.s., but with pilot could have
