gymnasiums, that is not a long-term plan. i am sorry but very few have real asylum claims. it is injustice to those people in those cases not going to court fast enough. instead they are being trained in their countries what to say, how to say it, and bring a child with you and then sometimes the child is separated from the adult that they come with and given to a sponsor and actually the systems are so saturated that they cannot help those families well enough. we had a case where 41-year-old was molesting for young girls and simply reported it to the school and said we are being molested by this man but he is threatening to deport and reported to the border patrol and deport people we love and care about and her family. those kinds of threats are real on a daily basis. as a prosecutor for 25 years i salt it all the time. >> host: these are people who are protected by sanctuary cities.

now people don't believe necessarily but to understand the catholic church as something important. it's in addition to being holy and sanctifying. and also humanize a society. it is a beautiful tribute. david: we should mention that a lot of people look at what happened yesterday and say how could it possibly rebuild. windsor castle back in 1992 had a terrible devastating fire and we're looking at it now. this is back in 1982. many people saw this. interestingly enough it was built in the 11th century. just as notre dame was built. there is a restoration effort and everybody thought it was a lost cause, 58 million dollars was spent in 1992, probably be $100 million today so for $100 million they were able to restore that counsel. not in duplicate of what it was but close. do they think they can do it with notre dame? >> i'm convinced that notre dame -- after st. peter's the second most famous church in the world. i think there will be a lot of

actually thanks she is the victim and all this. she reportedly thought the $500,000 check she and her husband wrote to rick singer to get her daughters into usc might be breaking the rules but not the law. she feels she was manipulative. the couple could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted on all the charges. is this a smart defense tactic. ms. emert's joining me it's almost laughable for her to portray herself as a victim. what chance? >> that will not hold water in a court of law. it is ignorance of the law and no defense. that is what you're going to hear a prosecutor say in response. this is not a great defense strategy. i think some of the information coming out into the public might be to change the public narrative but if i am her lawyer and i am representing her behind-the-scenes this is absolutely not the route to go. it is laughable. it is not going to play too well

to a jury. david: it may not be her lawyer as much as her husband. he is the one who is apparently pushing the scenario. that they were the victims and they did not realize the charity that they were laundering money through to the sky rick singer. >> it makes me think that they don't necessarily understand how serious these charges are. david: probably not. a lawyer would have to be disbarred to not give them the details and severity of the crime. and possibly spending years in jail. >> sometimes you can counsel them and tell them what you believe they should do and they can still reject it because ultimately the client makes that choice. i think that they believe the prosecutor were bluffing. with the initial plea deal which as we know the prosecutors in this case said, we are not offering plea deals that do not include jail times.

all them have jail time attached. they rejected it and now they're faced with additional charges. the prosecutor's case is now -- there are more charges levied and therefore the previously discussed behind-the-scenes is going to include more times. they are in a very vulnerable position. when you have written communications, your phone calls and cooperating witnesses, the government, these prosecutors don't go for the indictment until they have a really buttoned up case. this is going to be something . david: it's not hearsay they have hard evidence. they better change your point of view. meanwhile, the indictment spoke of some of these people taking advantage and rick singer apparently guiding them along the way. taking advantage of affirmative action quotas. you fall soon the city because you want to fulfill a quarter. i'm just wondering if she could be called as a witness. >> great point, perhaps that
