>> if you want to laugh david, i have an iphone but i also still have a blackberry bold that's still alive and kicking and i love it. david: i think everybody has a little piece of the governor in them as far as those little phones are concerned thank you, gang that does it for bulls & bears we'll see you next time. liz: i'm elizabeth macdonald, the evening edit, it starts right now. we've got breaking news, president trump is in the era board air force one, on his way to florida as we speak. we could hear from the president this hour, as the fallout over the redacted mueller report and attorney general bill barr's press conference now at a fever pitch in washington let's get right to hillary vaughn on capitol hill with the latest. hillary? reporter: liz, well the arrival of the mueller report to capitol hill is closing a chapter for republicans but just turning a new page for some democrats who say the investigation continues.
6:01 pm
house judiciary committee chairman jerry nadler saying he believes the mueller report is not a conclusion but a roadmap meant for congress to follow and they intend to follow it. >> the responsibility now flows to congress to hold the president accountable for his actions. congress must get the full un redacted report along with the underlying evidence uncovered by special counsel mueller. congress requires this material. reporter: the republican lawmakers on the hill are firing back. majority leader mitch mcconnell says it's time to move on and congressman mark meadows calling democrats "desperate." >> robert mueller, special prosecutor who gets paid to prosecute people and indict people, did not indict the president and could not go forward on prosecution. >> how could it not be thorough you had 19 lawyers spend two years millions of dollars most of those lawyers were democrats, out to get the president. how could it not be thorough, and what were their conclusions?
6:02 pm
no collusion. reporter: but both the house intelligence and judiciary committees are already penciling in special counsel robert mueller on their witness list for his own hearing. they're also putting attorney general bill barr in the hot seat as well. democrats spent today attacking the ag, senate minneapolis leader chuck schumer and house speaker nancy pelosi saying barr 's summary deliberately distorted mueller support, house democrat eric swalwell calling barr unfit to serve saying he should resign but senate majority leader mitch mcconnell saying today that bashing barr is just the democrat's new play book. liz? liz: thank you, hillary vaughn in capitol hill tonight. ultimately, here is what the mueller report concluded. trump, his campaign, no american committed any crime of conspiracy with russia. the report also says the president could not have obstructed since he did not commit a crime so the presumption of innocence, is supreme but the democrats still muling impeaching trump on 10 obstruction attempts that mueller lays out again mueller finding no obstruction because
6:03 pm
trump's aids refuses orders and he didn't commit a crime. the president there though forgetting his administration works for the office of the presidency and so do his staffer s, not him. here is the other thing mueller found. the trump campaign sought to benefit from information from russia, but again, no crime or conspiracy. here is what you're not seeing. context, president trump came into the oval office saying the debacle of the hillary clinton e-mail probe at the fbi, the inspector general of the justice department found real bias and going to the top of the fbi. that's what trump saw, when he was up against. that same fbi. this as former democrat senator bob kerry says he sees in his only democrat party and now senator kerry wants a 9/11-style truth commission to get out what exactly went so very wrong at the justice department and the fbi. joining me now is the host of lou dobbs tonight the great lou dobbs is here great to see you. your reaction? lou: my reaction is hall hallelujah this is exoneration
6:04 pm
of the president and we keep using words, the president himself has used the word "hoax ." this is not just a hoax. this was a crime committed by the democrats and what they have done here is steal the mid-term elections as a result of the special counsel in the way in which it was managed by robert mueller. we now learn that in june of 2017, they knew that there was no obstruction of justice, and the special counsel then pivoted to obstruction of justice, which is preposterous against the sitting president to begin with, particularly when there's no hurricane rita lying crime called collusion, conspiracy or cooperation with the russians, but they did win the mid-term election in 2018 as a result of perpetuating that special counsel. liz: well they also campaign on health benefits. >> they did but importantly, liz, the two polls at that time, before, just before the election
6:05 pm
of november 2018, found that the voters believe the president to be untrustworthy because of the allegations that he was conspir ing with russians for crying outloud. 62% after the election said he was untrustworthy and the principal causal relationship is between the special counsel and the president's candidates. liz: it's his tweets and the mueller probe keeping his approval rating down to your point the approval rates has been down, okay mueller no intent. lou: well calling him untrustworthy was the only basis liz: no intent of conscience wrongdoing that's what the mueller probe found right on the part of trump. the question is how can they say no intent because they didn't sit down with the president to talk to him, no face to face q & a so how can they determine intent if they didn't talk face to face? >> well how could they say that there is no exoneration on the issue of obstruction of justice but indeed they didn't bring in charge? that is just silly as in my judgment just silly as it can be
6:06 pm
, and preposterous. i do want to say one thing here. william barr is a just a, a national treasure and for the democrats to asail him, their play book is now, their pages are just flying in the wind. the democrats have now set the stage for their own collapse and i think you're going to see it in relatively quick order and i think you're going to see this administration charge ahead, i believe that william barr, the attorney general, will bring to justice those investigators who so malined this president who were trying not to carry out a hoax, they were trying make no mistake about it they were trying to unseed a duly-elected president. they were trying to overthrow a president. liz: lou dobbs thank you. we will be back in the next hour for lou dobbs tonight you don't want to miss lou's take and more coverage of the mueller report so what the mueller report did find is that russia, yes, tried to engage in manipulating our
6:07 pm
election and that yes trump behaved badly. what's also true is the democrat s and the media expressed bias toward trump, and again as lou was just saying they tried to nullify an election, with more anger directed at trump, than the russians meddling joining me now we welcome former fbi assistant director and former federal prosecutor, great to see you both, bill, first to you. william barr depicted trump lashing out as a rational reaction by a president who saw what a mess the fbi made of the hillary e-mail probe coming into office, that it was a political ly motivated probe, and that this was the base of conspiracy in the trump russia probe. what do you say to that? >> liz i don't think he did anything different than any one of us would have done on a similar set of circumstances. the fbi did something atrocious in this particular case. they deserve to have this addressed, that along with the former director.
6:08 pm
the bottom line is i firmly believe that this report that came out today has enough information in it for both sides to pick fruit off the tree and throw it at each other but the real bombshell is going to come with the ig horowitz's report that's where everybody involved in a nefarious play to knock donald trump off the ticket is going to come to justice. liz: andrew, to bill's point the focus now is on the 10 episodes of attempted obstruction of justice. that's the wheel house that the democrats and the media, the left wing media are in right now they're focused on full bore on that, and so the question is can they make hay with that that the president basically had 10 episodes or obstruction of justice what do you think? >> well i think with regard to the obstruction of justice part of the file, kind of volume two, what we see is that mr. mueller is coming up with decisions that
6:09 pm
many of the acts, the conduct alleged, actually occurred. the question is does it amount to obstruction of justice, and we saw attorney general barr this morning making very fair points about his assessment, that president trump was acting in a manner consistent with a person who may be innocent, somebody who is frustrated by the process and frustrated by the system and i think that's a fair a else isment for him to have. certainly there's people on the other side who have a different view of it but that gets to the real point of what attorney general barr was making that this case can't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt so obviously the democrats are going to take that and run and try to say these acts of miss deeds to them is worthy of some sort of potentially impeachment really at the end of the day i see it as political. liz: i want both of you to answer this question. do you agree with former democrat senator bob kerry, that you need a 9/11-style truth commission to get at what happened with the fbi and the justice department with this russia trump collusion probe. i mean, he sees dilution in his
6:10 pm
own party, diluent, and he's asking adam schiff too to stop politicizing the house intelligence committee and do your job of oversight of the pentagon. again, does it need a 9/11-style commission to get at what happened? what started this whole thing. >> liz, you hear from the politicians on both sides that we spent a lot of money on it, there's been a lot of investigation. the truth of the matter is, liz, they keep saying the american public wants to know. i really believe that most of the american public doesn't want to know that. they want to go on. you've got to let go of this thing, somewhere along the line and now is the time to let go and move on to what they were elected to congress to do and that's address the issues that really the people of the united states want to. the only reason is they want to know. liz: finish your thought, bill, sorry. >> i was just going to say the only reason they want to know is to continue the political arena,
6:11 pm
and to raise money and to try to knock the other side of the aisle out. it's not going to work. you need to stop all this nonsense and get to the business of why they were elected. liz: you know, andrew, yes, the mueller probe found there seemed to be evidence of potential obstruction by the president and on the other side we've got a senator robert kerry saying you need a 9/11 truth commission because this trump russia collusion probe that's with us for nearly two years it got out of control and you need to get to the bottom of how it started would you support a 9/11-style commission probe here? >> i think so i think big picture concern we have is really without regard to where the criminal investigation is going and what starts off a criminal investigation and how broad does it get? i mean it doesn't matter whether it's the president whose being investigated or if it's a common citizen being investigated. the ruins lives it ruins reputations so there has to be some good check on the system to make sure the prosecutors the

doj, the fbi, aren't going beyond reasonableness in the scope of their investigations and the lengths. liz: you're right the prosecut ing power is astounding bill gavin, thank you so much for coming on we appreciate your insight thank you sir. ahead on the evening edit democrats say forget the mueller report, we are going to even double down on even more probes, using it as a roadmap. the roadmap into more probes into president trump, his family and the family business. we've got a leading republican who serves on two of the highest profile committees at the center of that battle coming up next plus, jpmorgan has jamie dimon telling our own maria bartiromo he thinks that the u.s. economy will not be in a recession this year, we bring on steve forbes to debate the fallout of that for 2020. that's coming up next. guys, unleash your potential with

liz: welcome back you're watching the fox business network, while attorney general william barr outlines the findings of the mueller report, democrats doubling down on their probes of trump, his family and businesses, the republican member of two house committees leading the charge, he's calling for the democrats to stand down, joining me now is the member of the house judiciary committee as well as the oversight and reform
6:17 pm
committee he is congressman greg stuby, great to have you on sir. >> thanks for having me. liz: so why are you saying stand down you want an end to the multiple probe, why? >> look we've been spending 22 months, $25 million after 2,800 subpoenas, 500 search warrants, 500 witness interviews and no collusion, no obstruction look americans especially in my district in floridians they don't want us to be focused on mueller's report and all these different issues they want to focus on things that will improve the lives of floridians improving the crisis at the border, coming up with an immigration solution, and something that will create jobs, something that will lower prescription drug prices and that's not what democrats are focused on. everything they're focused on is something related to some type of trump investigation because they can't live with the outcome of the 2016 election because they can't beat trump to the ballot box. liz: sir are you saying what you just told us are you saying that to these house democrats because they've subpoenaed nine large
6:18 pm
banks as part of an inquiry into president trump's finances trying to find russia involvement with the president's real estate empire, what's your take, are you saying they've got to do things to fix the country what are they saying? >> if you look at my testimony when they brought in michael cohen when i started questioning him my statement before i started questioning him was why are we questioning somebody uranium somebody that's a convicted liar that we know is going to lie before congress and not focus on things that will improve the lives of americans. that's what i'm focused on doing and what i hear when i'm all about my district and cd17 here in florida that's what people are talking about. they're not talking about the mueller report. liz: but congressman we have house judiciary committee chair jerry nadler saying the mueller probe is a roadmap for even more probes in congress, watch. >> i think it was probably written with the intent of providing congress a roadmap as other reports have in the past and but with the redactions and others attorney general barr seems to be trying to frustrate
6:19 pm
that intent. liz: well it sounds like you guys are going to be busy, sir. >> well that's what they're focused on again they're not focused on things that will improve the lives of americans or floridians they are focused on trying to beat trump in 2016 when that was two years ago because they can't beat him at the ballot box so it's unfortunate that we're going to spend our committee time, time and time again bringing in more witnesses. chairman nadler also subpoenaed 81 different people somehow affiliated with the trump organization, prior to the mueller report coming out, and they're never going to be satisfied. first it was we need to see the full mueller report and then they get the fuel mueller report and now we need the fuel military report the redactions on it. it'll never be enough. liz: sorry forgive me for interrupting. has any democrat privately said to you that they agree with what you're saying? >> privately democrats talk about issues, you know, i sit on , they form the caucus there's a group of post-9/11 combat and service veterans who served in operation both in iraq and afghanistan and we're focused on
6:20 pm
real solutions to improve the lives of the veterans in our country and it's actually refreshing to be in a bipartisan group which is a group of individuals that were elected to congress this class, to try to improve the lives of both those in the military, and our veterans, so there are democrats that are focused on trying to work with republicans on things that we can work on together and i'm sure they're frustrated with the things and the directions they are going, even speaker pelosi has said she doesn't want to move forward on any type of impeachment proceedings yet the committee chairs all they talk about is bringing in more witnesses now let's bring in mueller and question him. liz: all right, congressman, thank you so much for joining us thank you for your service to our country appreciate it. >> thank you. liz: we're tracking other developing stories for you this hour. american media now selling the "national enquirer" for $100 million to former newsstand and magazine distributer tycoon, it's james cohen, his family created hudson news which runs news stands at airports, train stations and
