♪ liz: welcome to the show. you're watching the fox business network. let's get right to pennsylvania and the trump rally. fox news's bryan llenas is there for us tonight. brian? reporter: donald trump, jr. has been speaking for about 20 minutes. the president will speak at 7:00 p.m. we begin with breaking news out of washington, d.c., a federal judge ruled against the trump administration. back in april house democrats subpoenaed the accounting firm maziar's to get ahold of president trump's financial records and related to his trust. trauma's lawyers sued to block the subpoena. the federal judge sided with the democrats. that subpoena will go through they're asking for more of the president's financial documents. here at the trump rally, this is the first trump rally held in 2019 in the battle ground state

of pennsylvania. folks were lining up hours before the big rally. we expect the president to talk a lot about the economy. remember he won this pivotal battleground state by less than 1%. this was pivotal for him in winning that 2016 race. there is some sort of, some concern by some republicans about pens vape, given the fact that senator pat toomey, the republican here in pennsylvania, is kind of raising the alarm, raising a red flag a little bit about china's tariffs. he is he is saying tariffs are crippling manufacturing jobs and farming jobs. he believes the white house should not have the power to impose tariffs. it should be in the hands of congress. the latest "qunnipiac poll" here in pennsylvania shows that the former vice president joe biden has an 11-point lead over president trump. he is the only, only contender with a double-digit lead over president trump. now again, the pennsylvania

economy though has been doing really well. we can expect a lot, to hear a lot about that from president trump. the unemployment rate here in the state, 3.8%. that is the lowest since 1976. over 115,000 jobs added in pennsylvania under trump's presidency. so we can expect him to hit that really hard during his rally here tonight. mon toursville is 65 miles west of scranton, pennsylvania. we're in joe biden's yard. maybe a coincidence maybe not. a special election in the state is happening tomorrow. that is part of why he is here. president is concentrating on biden who he thinks will end up being the eventual nominee. in a tweet, trump quote said, looks like bernie sanders is history. sleepily joe biden is pulling ahead. think about it i'm only here because of the sleepy joe and the man who took him off the 1% trash heap, president o.

not doing that for me. they're doing that for the office of the president. so we're talking about the future. yes, go ahead. reporter: [inaudible]. >> well we disagree with that ruling, it's crazy you look at it, this never happened to any other president. they're trying to get a redo. they're trying to get what we used call in school a do-over. if you look, you know we had no collusion, we had no obstruction, we had no nothing. the democrats were very upset with the mueller report. as perhaps they should be but the country is very happy about it, there was never anything like that and they're trying to get a redo or a do-over and you can't do that. as far as the financials are concerned, we think it is the wrong, it is totally the wrong decision by obviously an obama-appointed judge. he was a recent obama-appointed

judge. reporter: mr. president -- [inaudible]. >> i've known him, he has been against trump from the beginning. he probably want to run for some other office. i don't think he will do very well. he has been a loser for a long time. rarely votes for republicans. personally i think he is not much. reporter: [inaudible] reporter: what do you have to say to americans that your administration is stonewalling all the investigations up on capitol hill? why not let don mcgahn -- >> i think we've been the most, i think we've been the most transparent administration in history of our country. we went through two years of bob mueller with 18 people that hated donald trump. they were angry democrats as i call them. we've been through it for two years. they spent almost $40 million on it. we had i think 500 people testified. we had 1.4 or 1.5 million

documents. at the end of all of that he said there is no collusion. now what happens is the democrats want a redo. we've had enough. the country has had enough. there has never been, ever before an administration that has been so open and transparent so we, we want to get on, what we want to do is get on with running the country. reporter: [inaudible] alabama abortion law -- >> i put out my position on the, on abortion. you have known it for a long time but i put it out the other day you have it. i feel strongly about it. all of that works its way through court. along with the fact that democrats talking about third term and they're really talking about beyond third term. that is a terrible thing. reporter: [inaudible] reporter: what is going on with iran? the polls had us losing pennsylvania last time and we won and i expect we'll win it this time because the coal industry, the steel industry, the car industry, they're all doing incredibly well. pennsylvania now has the best employment they have ever had. the best employment record. more people working in pennsylvania now than ever before. like in our country. so i think we'll do very well in pennsylvania. reporter: [inaudible]. >> yeah. they will appeal it. they will appeal it. sure, they will appeal. reporter: what about another child died on the border? >> well i know this, that if you look at the border and if you look at the fact that the democrats are really making it very, very dangerous for people not approving, simple, 15 minute legislation, we could have it all worked out, it would be great for people, great for lives, great for safety, and the border is a dangerous place. it is only made that way because

the democrats will not approve any legislation. i mean they don't want to approve anything. it is making the border very dangerous. reporter: [inaudible]. what do you do to make sure kids don't die? >> we're working very hard. i tell you border patrol people, all of law enforcement is working very hard. unfortunately many of them have become doctors and nurses an they're taking people that are very, very sick from a long trek up, 2,000 miles. and they're doing an incredible job. honestly, what should happen is the democrats should sit down and make changes so that we can protect people on the border. a big mistake if they do anything. if they do something it will be met with great force but we have no indication that they will. reporter: are you approving additional funding for puerto rico? >> so i have given more money to puerto rico i believe ever president ever. they have gotten $91 billion for the hurricane. not only that our military, our law enforcement and fema has done a great job for puerto rico. i think the people of puerto rico are thankful. [reporters shouting questions] liz: okay, the president making news here. he just said about iran, that he does not see iran doing anything militarily, but if it does, it will be met with great force from the u.s. the president also mentioned that the federal judge who has since said no to the attempt of the trump white house to push back on a subpoena from you know house democrats to get

his financial records. that was a loss for the trump white house today. the president saying it was quote an obama-appointed judge who made the wrong decision on that subpoena to get his financial records. also talking about don mcgahn, saying choosing to ignore a subpoena to testify before the house democrats, saying this is the most important, most transparent administration in the history of the country. let's get to edward lawrence with more. edward, characteristic of the president. he talked about a range of subjects. took it head on, edward. reporter: i was about to point that out. on iran he said it he would talk with iran if they wanted to. he said again we're prepared in case of any eventual alty if iran does something. he took a lot of questions about pennsylvania poll numbers. something he said he is not really worried about. steel and aluminum tariffs are working. industry is coming back.

manufacturing is coming back. he is expected to go to pennsylvania coming up. he talked about as you said, don mcgahn, former white house counsel. the democrats want a re-do what the president is saying. they want to redo the russia probe because they didn't get the outcome they wanted. the reason they want to talk, democrats on the senate judiciary committee want to talk to don mcgahn, on one section of the mueller report, that the president directed him to fire the special counsel. never followed through with that. that is the section they really keyed in on this. president said hey, this is all laid out there for the public to see. there was no collusion related to this. again, a number of different points when he is talking about with don mcgahn, the negotiations with iran. liz, there were a number of point the president covered. liz: edward, the push for the democrats is this, "new york times" said he had billion dollars in losses over a

♪ liz: i think we're just about less than 20 months until the election and we've got joe biden, kamala harris, talking about tax hikes, talking down the u.s. economy, talking about president trump making a personal referendum on him. here is the lay of the land. we are six weeks from the longest u.s. economic expansion on record. the jobless rate is at a 50-year low. companies are adding jobs.

gdp growth rate grew by 3.2% in the second quarter. consumer sentiment at 15-year high. job openings and booming economy is really humming this is branding messaging problem for the democrats. they're asking voters to deny reality in order to get out the trump-hating base. with americans for tax reform, grover norquist. they will make it about his personality, his attacks, his tweets and undercut the facts about the trump economy. your take on all that? >> the challenge for the democrats when they want to say they want to repeal the trump republican tax cuts they're giving every american a dollar figure of what a democratic president would cost them. the middle income family with four kids would lose $2,000 every year if the trump tax cuts were repealed. a single parent earning $41,000 a year would lose $1300 every single year if you repealed those. the child tax credit would be

cut in half. small businesses would lose the 20% deduction that they get. people who didn't buy obamacare, that got the 700-dollar tax for individuals, that trump tax cut got rid of that penalty. they would be hit with that again. most of those people make less than $50,000 a year. so you could send letters and emails out to everyone, this is how much a democratic president would cost you personally in your family. that is a different thing than the democrats have done in the past personalizing how large a tax cut they want on everyone. liz: this would be the biggest tax hike. that is what the 2020 democrats are running on, the biggest tax hike. i think this country has seen in a long time. here is smart kamala harris speaking watch this. >> when i announced my proposal there were those who then said, how are you going to pay for that? republican, representative jerry nadler, a democrat, says that he will hold that hearing tomorrow regardless of what happens. last week he said he would hold mcgahn in contempt of court if he didn't show. today nadler would not answer questions. listen. >> [inaudible] >> is he going to be here tomorrow? >> [inaudible]. reporter: the justice department just ruled that congress cannot compel senior members of the administration to testify in front of congress about their duties in their official capacity. now in a letter from the current white house counsel to representative nadler, it outlines how mcgahn has the constitutional immunity going forward. therefore cannot testify about what he did during his official duties at the white house. in the opinion out of the justice department, it points to other presidents both republicans and democrats who offered the same protection, talking about back in 2014

crisis in enforcement. here is the story. local officials in seattle now blocking i.c.e. from using local airports to deport illegals. fox news's dan springer in seattle with more. dan. reporter: liz, the u.s. department of transportation is threatening to withhold millions of dollars in federal grants in king county unless officials back down on the policy effectively banning i.c.e. from using this airport for deportations. 34,000 illegal immigrants have been deported through the small king county airport over the last decade. king county executive, a democrat issued a order threatening to pull contracts of operators at the airport if they continued fueling and services i.c.e. flights. all bowed to the pressure even though costing them a lot of future revenue. that means i.c.e., has to drive a handcuffed detainee to the airport in yakima, a three-hour drive, instead of 40 minutes to

seattle to the northwest detention center. local ice officials issued a statement, state and local efforts thwarting i.c.e. operations serve only to create additional security concerns and add significant delays and cost to u.s. taxpayers. the brother of a local deputy killed recently by an illegal immigrant during a traffic stop says these sanctuary policies are making it more dangerous for cops and the public. i.c.e. says it has used king county airport to deport human traffickers, rapists and. local raid show show host lasted constantine. >> he has no problem discriminating against the federal post for simply enforcing our immigration laws in this country. it really is exemplary how crazy this region has gotten. reporter: responding to the executive order that bars i.c.e. flights the department transportation sent king county a letter. federal law prohibits enforcement of any such

purview, we know federal dollars pour into airports. i know you're hearing about this for the first time. when you don't, when you don't deport, art, doesn't that put a lot of duress on local enforcement and also local taxpayers who have to foot the bill for all of that? >> no, it is a big issue across the country. that is what people need to start understanding. a lot of these individuals when they stay in your towns or your cities, they are putting some stress on the local economy and they're definitely putting stress on the local hospitals. there is just a lot of things that factor in. people are just seeing one side of it and saying hey, you have to be humanitarian, you have to do the right thing. we're all for immigration. none of the people that i speak with, none of the people that i represent are against immigration. we're just against illegal immigration. there is a right thing to do things and a wrong way to do things. liz: the nuances of this story, the fact, details of the story are masked over by cries of quote racism, children being put

♪ elizabeth: the fight for the president's tax returns just got tougher. a federal judge ruled in favor of a house subpoena for his financial records. at the same time, new york state lawmakers ginning up what critics say is a back door way to try to get his tax returns, and here's what's going on. give the chairs of the congressional tax committees in d.c. access to president's state returns. let's get right to kelsey bow lahr, senior writer with the heritage foundation. the president can push back at the state level because federal

information is often on the state return and vice versa. it is a fight that's not going away. >> do -- it's not, and these investigations are purely politically motivated which makes them tainted from the start. it's really unfortunate, because congress does have a duty to have oversight on the executive branch. but when, you know, they go after -- they put all their eggs in the one basket with the mueller investigation and that doesn't pan out, they turn to these other investigations regarding his tax returns, regarding finances, and americans can see it's politically motivated. even if they were to dig up any unflattering material, i don't think it's going to sway public opinion. elizabeth: kelsey, it's really striking here, here's the question, should elected officials be changing state laws just to get one person's tax returns? i mean, this is, again, state tax information. the president and republicans can use the same laws to try to go after democrats. they're changing precedents here, that's the issue. >> they're changing precedents,
