fund abortions. the tate's 2020 budget -- the state's 2020 budget will allocate $250,000 to help pay for abortions for low income women who travel from other states into new york. the money will help pay for about 500 abortions. joining me now, robert jeffress, who is a member of the white house faith initiative, pass pastor of the first baptist church of dallas and a fox business contributor. he's also host of the new fox nation show halfway to victory that is launching june 24th. pastor, it's always a great pleasure to talk to you. so what do you make of this new new york city initiative to fund abortion? >> well, let's be clear, new york city is trying to become a sanctuary city the for killing babies, and that is truly evil. i mean, apparently, it's not enough to kill babies from your own city, they want to entice women there from other states to sacrifice their children as well. it is absolutely horrendous what

they're doing. and my question, gregg, is where are the christians in new york city? i believe it's time forked good and godly -- for good and godly men like cardinal dolan, tim keller and other christian leaders to get their people into the streets and raise holy hell about this. this is evil, and it has to be stopped. gregg: speaking of health, the socialist health care policies, what's your reaction to that? >> well, look, i believe the president what he said during the campaign that he didn't want to leave people dying in the streets because of a lack of health care. as a christian, i believe in proid viewing for the neediest -- providing for the neediest in society. but i believe this is a way to do that without creating a socialistic, one-size-fits-all health care plan that completely destroys our health care system and also bankrupt our economy. and i believe once we get past this 2020 election and hopefully break the backs of the left,

we'll be able to accomplish something that achieves that goal. gregg: let me get your reaction to something one of the democratic candidates said, pete buttigieg. he said if you're an evangelical and you support donald trump, then you're a hypocrite because trump is anathema to scriptures. what do you think? >> well, i don't know what scriptures he's anathema to. he believes in religious liberty, which the scripture teaches. he believes in protecting rather than murdering the unborn, is what the scripture teaches. i don't know any policy the president has that is nonchristian. he is the most pro-christian president that we've had in history. but pete buttigieg, i mean, certainly embraces the killing, the murder of children. i don't know how you reconcile that with both the old testament and jesus' words thou shalt not kill. gregg: i think he was saying
1:53 am
that because the president is trying to enforce strictly immigration, that that's un-christian. is it? [laughter] >> no, it's not un-christian. look, the bible says that god has given the government the role of protecting society. i hear this all the time the even from the pope. walls are un-christian. well, if walls are un-christian, then god's un-christian, because he told nehemiah to build a wall around jerusalem to protect the city. the bible even says, gregg, there's going to be a wall in heaven. so if walls are ungodly, then god is ungodly. gregg: all right. you're going to be in orlando, florida, on tuesday with the president when he sort of sets off his re-election campaign. tell us why you're going to be there. >> well, here's why i'm going to be here. i believe this next election in 2020 is not only about giving the president a second term, i believe it's about the survival of our nation. and here's why i say that,
1:54 am
gregg. i just finished reading michael wolff's new book, and i know there are all kinds of problems in it, but there is one thing that you and even the president would agree with. he says that there was a coup ins grated against president trump -- instigated against president trump not because he was failing, but because he was succeeding. and that's exactly what is happening. the left hates the direction the president is taking this country. he is reversing the downward death spiral we were in. they hate what he's doing in the court system and with abortion, and they want to try to stop him any way they can. and i believe, gregg, if the left cedes control -- becomes in control of this country once again, they're never going to let go, and it's going to be the end of america as we know it. and that is why as a christian i am standing up and encouraging other christians to stand up for this president and his godly policies. i believe, as millions of christians do, this is america's last chance. we can't get it wrong.

gregg: pastor robert jeffress, thank you so much for being with us tonight. appreciate it. >> thanks, gregg. gregg: coming up next, president trump points the finger at iran for a recent attack on two oil tankers. weaver going to have more on that after -- we're going to that after -- we're going to have more on that
