points. we'll talk all of that. detail on big market movers ahead. here is what is new at this hour. connell: white house hopeful kamala harris is introducing proposal for "medicare for all"? round two of their debates. the difference is between the plans and what it means for the health care, if you can actually keep your doctor. plus iran, vowing to restart nuclear activity since the rogue regime releases new video of the revolutionary guard interacting with a british strait of hormuz. new security lines at the airport. how you might beat the crowds, but it will come at a price. >> we're just hours away from u.s. china trade negotiations resuming in shanghai. while president trump renews attacks on federal reserve. which says it isn't doing u.s. favors with any talks between china or anybody else.

blake burman live at the white house with the latest. reporter: expectations going into the meeting with shanghai with the u.s. trade representative robert lighthizer, steve mnuchin, counterparts in china, not very high. all you have to do is look back and go, take a look back what was said last week, at least publicly. treasury secretary said there are at least a few meetings away from a potential deal. on friday larry kudlow down expect a grand deal from the talks next couple days. then came comment from president trump late friday afternoon as we went into the weekend. the president suggested that china might be playing the long game. he files china might be trying to wait him out all the way until november 2020. listen. >> more meetings. meeting after meeting. i don't think personally china would shine a deal if i had a 2% chance of losing the election, i

think china would probably say let's wait. maybe we can deal with another dope or another stiff like the people that allowed these deals to happen, this horrible thing to happen to our country. reporter: the president this morning lumped in china with continued attacks on the federal reserve taking to twitter, china, willful. meantime, with very low inflation our fed does nothing and probably will do very little by comparison. too bad the president writes, he said in another tweet, a quote, small rate cut is not enough. jackie? >> thanks for that. let's bring in today's market panel. john layfield. fox news contributor. ann berry, cornell capital partner. john, start with you.

do you think these talks amount to anything substantial? none whatsoever. the optimism faded. this is going on since last march. 16 months into this. every month the administration comes out. a bunch people come out, their water carriers, we'll get a deal soon, market goes up. we are not any closer than we were last september. we have a lot of things we disagree with china on. i don't think president xi will budge on. i don't see any hope with the china trade talks anytime soon. the market moving up, staying buoyant is because of fed. jackie: talk about the fed. big presser wednesday. your expectations 25 basis points. other people see more? >> i think it is 25 basis point news we're expecting. we'll look at comment that come after. we're looking for clarity on

metrics that jay powell and team are looking for, whether any of those are likely to move towards another 25 point cut to the end. jackie: hold it. breaking news beyond meat. let's go to deirdre bolton. she has the numbers. >> jackie, as far as earnings go very much a disappointment. wall street was looking for a loss at eight cents a share. i'm looking at calculations on profits. the loss is 24-cent a share. apples to apples would be a huge loss. what the stock is moving on right now, post-market, this is a blowout quarter, no other way saying. wall street was looking for 52.17 in sales. the company posting 67.3 million. that is 200% increment, compare the same quarter with same quarter last year. knocking the cover off the ball.

the company raising outlook for the rest of this year. we've been talking a lot about sales of this product. more and more people seem to be buying the products in the supermarket. as we know, they have arrangements with two key chain retailers, dunkin' brands. canada's tim horton brands. both those two chains selling breakfast sandwiches with variations of beyond meat products. sales coming in super strong. the market is loving that. reminding of the contextal point the stock is up 800%. people looking for the other than meat for the environment or for the health. this is winner. jackie: deirdre, thanks for all that. connell: a crazy stock. next topic, following up on the china discussion a few moments ago we move to hong kong where protesters are violently clashing with police over the weekend. tear gas, rubber bullets trying

to control the chaos. china is condemning the demonstrations a evil, criminal acts by radical element which is a change here. the last week or so, john, as john and ann are back with us, we've seen china, after completely ignoring in their state media, honk cong protests, censoring media outside of china, addressing head on with comments like that. what do you make of it? >> you were oaf there a couple weeks ago, china. you saw for yourself. when they addressed the the muslim uyghurs, they cracked down on that easily. there was not a revolt. they detained a million different muslim uyghurs by rumor in detention camps. they tried to do the same thing in hong kong. they tried to strong arm it. when you try to strong arm a

country very proud as hong kong, they don't want to bend knee or autocratic regime in china, that is a complete different animal. china has to figure out now how to deal with this problem they have in hong kong. it's a significant issue. connell: they changed course a little bit. it becomes an issue for investors, when it affects directly relations between the u.s. and china. maybe trade talks you guys were talking about. are you at that point? worried we get to that point? >> i don't think we're there yet. in the back of people's minds they look next couple days, the trade talks, policy issues around the situation in hong kong come together. we see the presidentful political concerns into economic policy making. mexico being a case in point. mexico sees if they take the same tact. jackie: apple, the company releasing three new iphones, all with 5g compatability. as we get ready for the third quarter earnings report "after the bell."

ann, your thoughts. >> there are couple things we'll look out for. one what will drive top line and last the 5g phone. coming back with the trade with china, there are reports that apple is actively thinking through relocating the supply chain. looking for more clarity. that will be important. jackie: all important points. john, everybody will be watching closely what they say about their services business because the phones, their saturation to a certain extent even with 5g, it is really about how they can push the ball forward, to be more innote safe tiff, right? >> i would completely agree and i would say saturated beyond a certain extent. this is replacement cycle with the iphones. that may be enough. it is the most profitable company in history. you have 1.3 billion around the world have some type of apple device. that service business is the future of apple. i think they buy something like nfl rights, nba rights, premier league rights, i think the

care. so does bernie sanders, who came to detroit early to take a group of diabetic americans across the border into canada to pick up insulin that is 10 to 12 times cheaper over-the-counter there than it is here. >> we import products from all over the world, don't we? food you're eating, getting lettuce and tomatoes coming from mexico. shoes you're wearing coming from china. you have poultry coming from all over the world. somehow or another, we have not been able to reimport from canada into the night the products being sold in this pharmacy with fda approval. reporter: there aren't just questions about how getting cheaper drugs across the border would work here in the united states. a group of medical professionals in canada, sent a letter to that country's health ministry published by the news out let cbc. they are warning canada does not have enough cheap drugs to take care of sick canadians and sick

americans. back to you. jackie: peter doocy, thank you so much. connell: let's bring in from "the wall street journal" editorial page deputy editor, fox news contributor dan henninger here with us in the studio. we'll skip past the bernie sanders comments from peter at end, focus instead if it it's okay, talk about kamala harris. >> okay. connell: people are talking about kamala carethe peter started with the fact joe biden will pick up on that and go after her. maybe we'll have a debate about health care this week. >> that is inevitable that we'll do that. kamala plan is attention better on eve of the debate. she has this love-hate relationship with the democratic progressive left. they not sure if they like her, they are in the camp with bernie and elizabeth warren. this is appeal to get them on

their side. very telling that obamacare, greatest achievements of the democratic party in the postwar period is being shoved aside as inadequate. now two years we have to to go into "medicare for all." extraordinary is the guy on the stage thats to defend his beloved president barack obama. connell: which he is doing. there should be some changes or improvements to obamacare. this kamala harris plan we don't have all the details, listening to peter's report reading between the lines, has a little bit of everything. talking about "medicare for all." she doesn't have her hand up saying you should get rid of private insurance. >> that is a little bit. what does she mean by private insurance. my understanding she is talking about something akin to medicare advantage. people could buy into a private plan. what about the currently existing private plans at about 177 million americans have? what would be the status of those plans? are they supposed to transition over to medicare advantage?

most of the time when you poll that subject it is just not popular. connell: that is interesting. because most people, numberswise, percentagewise, most people get health care from their employer and the majority of those people, correct me if i'm wrong are fairly happy with it. they also probably hope that other people who don't have as good a coverage of them would get better coverage. you start talking about taking away something people already have, that seems to be dangerous. almost every democrat is talking that way. >> that is interesting to me, connell. they are talking about it. i think by now, after everything we've been through, obamacare, failure of republicans, talking about health insurance, there is great public skepticism about anything these politicians propose on health care. nothing seems to come of it. now we're defaulting that we'll go for public options or "medicare for all." i think that democrats are spending a lot of time talking about a subject that most of the public is pushing back on. connell: more broadly, talk about the place they will be

debating in week in detroit. in the state of michigan, that is the closest of the close states of big three we talk about all the time. democrats will try to take it back to similar fashion the way they did in midterms in 2018. close races they performed quite well. they did in pennsylvania and some other states also. it is difficult when it's a presidential election of the must be? >> it is very different. we're in a long way. the primaries are not until february. we have to regard these debates at this point mostly entertainment value. i'm looking at them, ncaa basketball brackets. make no mistake about it. tuesday night the big fight is between elizabeth warren and bernie sanders. wednesday night it will be joe biden versus kamala harris. all the other candidates will be on the stage to get attention. i think there will be some fireworks. these second-tier candidates

have to do something to draw attention. we will see a lot of hail maries, -- marys. connell: which harris did at that time. the fox poll, biden had a commanding lead last week. most of that seems to have faded. i was at the debate in miami. most of us thought sitting in the spend room, not only did she win the debate on optics, get a little bounce in the polls. a lot of that has faded. >> interesting in the polls, 25% of the democrats clearly want someone like joe biden. i mean joe biden at the moment is the stand-in for the moderate candidate such as amy klobuchar and john delaney are not going anywhere unless biden fades. progressive vote is spread out among sanders, elizabeth warren, buttigieg, kamala, harris, maybe cory booker. none of them can get much elevation out of the debates.

connell: back here with breaking news. dish network reported a 7% drop in the quarterly revenue. the satellite tv provider lost 31,000 net pay tv subscribers. the stock is down but not a lot. not a lot of percentage movement. dish network with a loss of revenue and subscribers. jackie. jackie: president trump signing the 9/11 victim's compensation fund for first-responders today. fox news radio jessica stone is live at white house. jessica. reporter: it has been a 18-year fight for responders, going from rescue, recovery, to rebuilding. they're facing toxic chemicals each time. they ran in when others ran away. over time their medical bills gotten larger and larger into bill of dollars. this is the second he extension into the fund. this will go up to 2092.

jackie: the fact that talks are progressing a positive sign in the sense that this is going to be a long progress. this is a step in the right direction? >> despite the short-range missile tests kim jong-un has not launched a big, long-range intercontinental missile since 2017. if that is all we get from a military perspective it is worth it. what pompeo is saying, he is funny and optimistic, hopes to get talks started in a few more weeks. he wanted to do it in july. the sticking point is get north korea to take a concrete first step, giving an inventory of nuclear facilities something like that where they can start a strong negotiating process. jackie: meantime, when we look

at issue, there are so many battles on so many fronts. the president is dealing with iran and north korea as well. trying to tackle a whole host of other issues preparing for 2020. how do you think in terms of priorities, how he is looking at the world, north korea lines up as well? >> north korea is a top priority. as we saw the state department today, china is very much on everyone's mind, this regional security forum. there was one back in june. china showed up. they were very obnoxious, powerful statements. that means china is number one priority on the security piece with the south china seas militarization and of course on the economic talks. i would say president trump has seven number one priorities globally at this point. >> indeed. thanks so much, rebecca. connell: that is the job balancing. meantime security at your fingertips. united airlines has a high-tech push to get travelers through the airport with a little less
