success as did john bolton, a great american. i'll be in washington, d.c. tomorrow. joining us the brazilian foreign minister and jim jordan and mark meadows. trish: the liberal media putting lives at risk in an attempt to take down the president. they said the cia had to extricate a spy because of president trump. they put the life of a former sky and asset to the united states and others at risk. a former cia covert officer is joining us with exclusive new intel on this developing story. john bolton, the president's national security advisor is out of a job. the president's cabinet backing up the decision.
8:01 pm
>> the president is entitled to the staff he wants. any moment it's a staff person who works for the president of the united states. he should have people he trusts and values and whose efforts and judgment benefit him in delivering american foreign policy. trish: is this the end of the neocons. the president campaigned on getting us out of conflict. prime time * is next. trish: the liberal media's hate for the president at a new level. the cia calling cnn misguide and false in its reporting. cnn reported that the cia pulled a high-level spy out of russia
8:02 pm
because of president trump. somehow president trump put that spy at risk. here, the thing. cia officials first offer to extract the informant in 2016, weeks before president trump took office. even the "new york times" acknowledges there was no public evidence the president endangered the source. rather it was confirmed on the russian interference why our election. this could seriously put this person's life in danger. what kind of precedent does that set for any future asset the united states could have around the world when you know the american media will blow it up and make you toast as fast as you can if they have a shot at taking count president. an nbc reporter went to this
8:03 pm
person's house. went to their house for crying out loud. do you know how easy it would be now for vladimir putin? i am sure he knows, to figure out just exactly who this so-called spy was in his ranks. you put 2 and 2 together, an administration official in russia who had access to vladimir putin suddenly goes missing. the timing works out. this person's life is totally at risk thanks to nbc and cnn. and i guess you might as well throw the "new york times" in there, too. secretary of state mike pompeii or' with his frustrations. >> i don't talk about things like this very often. it's only the occasion when there is something that puts people at risk or the reporting is so egregious that it ebb comment in the way i just did.
8:04 pm
trish: there is no desire to have any responsibility any more? you are so anxious to prove this president wrong and pin something on him that you are going to risk the security of this individual? frankly, security of a lot more individual, anyone that would have had any kind of relationship with this individual in question. joining me to unpack all of this. covert operations officer, former cia, mike baker. good to see you again, mike. >> thank you, thank you. trish: we had a source in russia, very close to vladimir putin, had been cultivated over a number of years. and now that source i would think that asset which had to be extracted is now pretty much in danger. i think it media holds some responsibility in all of this.
8:05 pm
what's your take on it. >> i think absolutely they hold responsibility. i don't think they would care. but whether you talk about nbc, or abc's behavior, cnn hate the president. they had the opportunity to throw a story out there from their perspective was another hit job on the president and couldn't be bothered to fact check. what nbc and others are doing by trying to out this individual and playing beat the clock to get the story first. i don't know what happened to journalistic integrity or proportion when it comes to national security concerns. but not only does it place an individual's life at risk. as we know from watching putin and his henchmen go after individuals around the world in the recent past. but wait also does is endangers
8:06 pm
national security in a much bigger sense. to have something like this take place, imagine how difficult it is in the future. going forward for all those brave men and women who work in the intel community in the u.s. to try to convince somebody in a position overseas who has critical intelligence that we need for our national security interest. imagine how tough it is to convince that potential asset to support us. not only keeping it a secret, but the media targets him. trish: it sets a very bad precedents. how does it all work? how do you get that asset, how do you cultivate that asset to begin with? is there money at play? is somebody handing over, you know, lots of money? cash to this individual in. >> not to go into sources and
8:07 pm
methods, obviously we won't. but we can talk all day long about what motivates somebody to cooperate with an intel service. sometimes it's money, sometimes it's a variety of other reasons. occasionally it's ideology. but the process to get that asset is enormously difficult and painstaking. unless you have got somebody who walked in and volunteers their services assuming they are credible. the process of identifying somebody who has access to critical intelligence, that's a priority for the u.s. is a lengthy process you have to understand what motivates them. you have to get to the point where they are willing to cooperate. they are putting their life on the line. they are putting their family's life on the line. and they are doing it oftentimes because they believe personally for whatever reason that it's the right thing.
8:08 pm
they believe the u.s. is in the right position. then you get something like what's taking place with nbc doing what they are doing, knocking on the door. i don't even understand the mindset. >> the this is completely irresponsible and i hear you. any asset anywhere in the world would say why am i going to do this. wow, if your media gets any inkling of any of this going on, they will below it all up. mike, it's good to see you. it's always good to have your perspective. president trump firing national security advisor john bolton today. he has disagreed strongly with bolton's suggestion. bolton claims he offered to resign. regardless of how it all went down, these are two men who
8:09 pm
completely butt heads on national security issues, on plans to withdraw u.s. troops from afghanistan. this is a president that went out there and campaigned on the idea that we were going to get out of all these world won applicants. we weren't going to be spending money and costing american lives by meddling in everybody else's business. we were going to pick our spots. joining me now, steven yates. i always thought it was a mismatch. i know don and i know where the president stands on all these issues. those two didn't seem lined up so to say. >> that's true. john is a friend, someone i have known for many years. he's a very public person with very well organized articulated views over a long period of time. has been on these airwaves
8:10 pm
espousing these views, and they are not ones the president clearly aligned with the president. trish: you were there work with katie. you completely disagree with your boss, hey, listen, i'm all for hearing diverse opinions. but ultimately it's the boss that sets the policy. >> there is only one president at a time. he's the commander-in-chief. it comes down to your theories of management. some managers like to have contending and challenging views around them. some like to have people in their close circle alcohol weaken they want to do, second guess them because they will get second guessed once they are out in public. at this point president trump is shifting into a different gear to go through reelection and thinking about second term. and i think the debate is close about whether strategically we are looking to get out of
8:11 pm
afghanistan. there is no point to relitigate that with the commander-in-chief. trish: you get the national assembly coming up. the president is saying i am willing to sit down with the iranians. i'll talk to them. that doesn't seem to be something john bolton would be in any way in favor of. then you can add venezuela to the list, you can add north korea to the list. you can add china. there are a lot of things that perhaps bolton would be far more aggressive on than say this president. the president approached this interestingly and i commend him for this, with a lot of financial tools. you think about tariffs. i have had conversations in the past. john bolton didn't steam too enthusiastic. around rivers. trish: i'm willing to lose a lot of dollars before i will lose one american life. so i think economic sanctions
8:12 pm
and the financial tools we have can be quite useful. but that is perhaps another area where the president and john bolton disagreed? >> i agree there are a lot of options between war and appeasement which seem to be the polar extremes a lot of our debate gets framed around. there is an area of political warfare, we don't shape the information environment the way others do. we cede ground to the chinese controlled media where we don't fight on behalf of freedom of and use the assets we have advantages in. there is a lot of room there. but the bottom line is the president has staff where all of us when you come in, it's known, the time of your leaving might be at your choosing. but implicitly you have got your letter of resignation written. it's up to the president to decide when he chooses to accept
8:13 pm
it. john bolton knows that more than anyone else, having served multiple presidents. if i were him i wouldn't be involved with putting up competing tweets with the president of the united states on the same day. but we have people making different decisions today. trish: 2020 dems for the president. >> donald trump is the most of openly racist president we have had in modern history. >> the most of dangerous president in american history. >> today we have a president who embraces supremacists. trish: brand-new economic numbers show the president's policies are working for everyone. but they are especially work for minorities. wait until you hear these numbers. and it's the most of successful hollywood romantic comedy in nearly a decade.
8:14 pm
>> they are crazy rich. >> you are like the prince william of asia. >> that's ridiculous. it's more like harry. trish: i loved this story. the co-writer is calling it quits because her male counter part was offered 10 times more money than her. tonight i'm exposing the hypocrisy. they are trying to use woarnl and use minorities. texas congressman brian babin is here as soon as we get back.

so we are making progress. this is the third straight move decline. the unstoppable flood of migrants. it looks like finally with maybe a little help from mexico and from the democrats, not from any of the democrats income congress, we are getting some of these numbers under control. joining me is brian babin. that's going to make you happy to see that. it's progress. >> absolutely it is progress. but we are down 50%. and i'll tell you you can attribute this entire thing to the policies of donald trump. with his pressure on mexico, where they have sent their own troops down to the southern border. they are turning the buses and caravans back. they are controlling the rivers to keep these folks from coming in. and we have the wait in mexico policy. there are 42,000 illegals that
8:20 pm
would have ordinarily been in our country and they are waiting in mexico. and i think this is a great thing to have mexico, you know, cooperating with us. but we have a president that is very forceful and he made this happen. i would say this, trish. still, 64,000 is still too much. that's a medium sized city coming in every single month, and we cannot continue to sustain that. trish: i hear ya. what struck myself how the president approached all this. that threat of tariffs. mexico took that seriously. i found it to be an interesting workaround. you have democrats who aren't willing to do anything because of political reasons, and so he said okay, let me get creative
8:21 pm
here. how can i find another solution. and his solution was to say mexico should be doing its part, and mexico if you don't do your part you will be confronted with tariffs. so there was again, i was saying in the last segment. the use of financial tools we haven't seen a lot of presidents employ. this president is doing. would you ever see president trump do something like that? would he have even thought it? >> absolutely not. he would probably say, what, do i have a magic wand? the policies that a president can do administratively because the congress will not act. and it's sad that we cannot work across the aisle to take care of this very -- i think it's the most of pressing problem on a lot of levels, healthcare, terrorism, criminal activity, swamping and flooding of our school systems.
8:22 pm
and it's just a huge burden on the taxpayers. i have got one school district in my district in texas that takes over 100 new student, illegal alien children per month. it is a huge burden on this school district. trish: i would like to talk to someone in that school district. it's easy to be abstract about all this stuff. it's easy to think if you are in a private school and you don't have to deal with these communities that none of it really affects you or matters that much. but the reality is it does create a very big drain on these communities like the one you are mentioning. i think it's important people remember that. >> absolutely. trish: good to see you. >> good to be with you, trish. trish: stop what you are doing. i have some really good video
