hitting the wall, the left is seizing on this. it's their last hope. and they want to go after the president. >> it is illegal and it is clearly outside of the bounds of the president's article 2 presidential authority. >> it certainly might breach the levels of the standards in the constitution about being high crimes and or misdemeanors. >> i think at this point we are beyond the constitutional crisis. this is a threat to the very sovereignty of the united states. >> if i said to you, i tell you what, i will ship your country the military aid you need to stop vladimir putin from continuing his invasion westward if you will dig up dirt on the guy that i think i'm running against and now trailing 14 points in every poll. would that be a bribe?

to corruption. the fact that it might implicate someone the democrats like doesn't mean the president is not allowed to do that. the president is allowed to say, have you looked into this? if she accepted bags of money from somebody and the president said maybe we should look into that, that's not illegal for the president to do just because they like hillary clinton. trish: there is some funny business going on, the american people deserve to know about it. it seems appropriate. i love how they are trying to spin this this on its head. the story is joe biden was over in sue crane making investments, giving aid packages to these energy companies, gas companies while his son is on the board of a gas company in ukraine. that's highly inappropriate. so much for church and state. you are my son and i'm giving

money to companies that will benefit you directly. that's kind of messed up. so that was the story in the "washington post," that was the story in "vanity fair." not exactly what you would call conservative news outlets. now they are trying to spin it. >> the clintons would look at the arrangement the binds had going on and say that looks sad. we don't know, but there should be an investigation. i think it's rich watching democrats who not only have a special counsel investigation, but had obama rrms appointees actively working to investigate president trump and his campaign, then push the special counsel on top of that. the weaponization of the intelligence agency and federal law enforcement against the president, now they are saying he had a phone call where he may have said allegedly looking to whether something very illegal and very corrupt may have been going on in ukraine.

that's completely legitimate and i think also fair play. the president has a tremendous amount of leeway to do what he sees fit on foreign policy, just because -- i just wish msnbc would get a dictionary. trish: they are becoming a broken record. as i saw this story crossing, i thought here we go again it's a little bit like the little boy who cried wolf. we got him, we got him. then there is no there there. you become immune to it after a while. they start saying with is the media's agenda, buck? >> they condition their audience to expect another bombshell. people were joking by the this week. oh, the whistleblower, now trump has gone too far. mocking this notion.

democrats and liberals are so lacking in tolerance? >> well, i am going to say the poster certainly was to borrow a college word, hyperbolic. this whole thing is a tale of sound and fury signifying nothing. the study done by two republican academics, they suggests conservatives on campus are equally ear more map happy than their liberal counterparts and their ideology is not attributable to discrimination or lower grades. this is a whole lot of talk. in conclusion, child separation and kids in cages. to criticize the trump administration for cruelty is not out of bounds.

trish: we can get to that, because you are wrong. but i want to go back to kid on college campuses. you are trying to suggest there is no bias there? can laura look in the cam ran and say there is no bias from the professors and kids are not encouraged to think in this group think? >> i am a living, breathing example of students who have experienced the bias. am i saying it never happened to a liberal student? absolutely not. the reality is it is happening to cobb students in many places. we are seeing that taken out on college campuses against student. we are seeing physical violence in some cases. it's not acceptable to sit around and say it does happen is appalling. trish: or to try to justify it.

we may hear something on this. i imagine you approve of this. you have been saying we need to do something. >> i think it's a start. it sends a message to iran saying if you step out of line you will get what you don't want. that's more u.s. troops on your perceived territory. the latest sanctions the president announced appear to be more towards optics it presents well in public but does nothing to put additional pressure on the iranian regime. we have a thousand sanctions levied against the iranian regime. the banging system in iran is already unable to conduct transactions with the global banking systems. are these sanctions overall working against the iranian regime? absolutely. but the sanctions are a

long-term play. h -- eventually they will have o come to the negotiating table. trish: if you get joe biden in there, we won't have to worry about it. we'll get the exact the same deal as we head under obama and we'll continue on our merry way. >> that's the problem. you have to understand what the iranians are trying to do. they are hijacking ships, blowing you have oil tankers and sending suicide drones into saudi territory. they want to prove to the world the global economic stability depends on their own country's economic security. they frankly have seen our inaction against some of their recent military attacks as a weakness. we talked about this on the show a few months ago. because we did nothing in response to the shootdown of our drones, they saw that as a weakness we would see increase

with attacks. trish: what can we do? >> i think that we have a whole entire special operations community that is designed, trained and equipped to send a real message to iran covertly. i'm not talking about sending fighter jets over the coast and blowing up their tankers and things like that. i am talking about doing things that can send a message to them to let them know -- trish: cyber attacks? >> i'm talk about sabotage and making some of these tankers disappear in the night. i'm talk about the ircg officers providing proxy groups with the weapons of terrorism and stopping that versus going to all-out war. it does haven't to be all or nothing. trish: would those little somethings basically result in a kind of regime change? i think that is fundamentally

what needs to happen. if you have got rouhani there and it's -- there has been some suggestions this wasn't his idea and he didn't know about it. that may be giving him a pass he doesn't deserve. if that's the case why is he running the country if he doesn't know what's going on. they could say, look -- >> rouhani is just a figurehead. the ayatollah is the one in charge. there is a problem right now with us being able to convince even some of our allies and our own american citizens that the iranians were recently to blame for these attacks. there is a mistrust of our own intelligence community we'll have to get over. at some point we'll have to make the case for a tactical military action. if people don't believe the iranians are to blame when there is clear intelligence indicating

trish: you just keep taxing the rich. i get that on some level -- i see it from the two ways because i think inherently americans are very can-do and we believe in work. and we have a work ethic. it's really our history, right? if you think about that. people like being told they can't achieve prosperity. they don't have -- or if they do, the government is going to take it all away. no matter where you are in life, if you have any optimism at all you would reject bernie sanders. but then there is a crowd out there that isn't so optimistic. they don't want to go to work and do this, that and the other. they go, yeah, bernie, it could work. >> fundamentally it comes down to the american people seeing through it. work gives as you dignity.

diseases that you haven't seen in hundreds of years that could creep up because of these problems. now you have got one guy out in seattle suing the government there because they didn't do enough to clean up the streets with the homeless. they sent him in there and he wound up being exposed to some toxins. is this the responsibility on the communities themselves? the president is saying why are we giving money to california when they can't deal with this? why are we giving money to seattle, washington if they can't deal with it? >> i think it points to the real issue which is cities ran by progressive democrats. all of these kinds of issues just keep coming out in cities ran by progressive democrats. i have to say if i can. i love listen together president. i have never been as excited as an american to listen to that man talk. his passion, you can file, you

it's a problem in seattle. now a guy is suing over it. don't you say what's going none my city in why can't these liberal government officials get it fixed? >> i actually can. when i was on your program in new york we had a conversation about affordable housing and the failures of rent control and the way there has been in many ways a progressive failure. i'm engaged with someone running for city council trying to get the city focused on local politics, which is not just about government money it's bin season toughizing develops to build middle class housing. multiple and single family dwelling units. people used to live in them and they could afford the rent. it's a huge problem. i wouldn't say the many only a liberal problem. trish: i think if bernie sanders

has his way we'll look like the ussr. you remember that housing. >> no, i see a free market solution. but people have to be incentivized to build that. it can't be apartments for the very, very wealthy then low-income house. the definition of the middle class has changed. people are working hard. what that represents in terms of how much they make and what they bring to the city. rents need to be commence wrat their efforts. trish: the question is how do you have do that? you put the principles of economics in play, things should shake out. i think new york city is one great example of this. it creates a have and have not environment. think about rent control and wait did to new york city. i can remember being a young person in new york. this probably sounds great to everybody right now. i was paying $1,000 a month.

which in new york everything is even way higher than that. but at the time there were people who had the same apartments for $200, $300. mayor $400. >> and they never leave. trish: in my building. i am effectively subsidizing the real estate company. all these people who could afford it way more than i could by the way. that's the problem with it. you have to come up with a creative solution and it's not just throwing money. that has an unintended consequence. >> it does. i believe there are several factors that need to be addressed. one that progressive liberals -- progressive democrats don't want to address. they need to look at holding up the laws. they need to look at illegals

coming in. they are not looking at the real problems. then they have created a few jobs for some people and put the police going in to clean up poop on the streets. i just moved from california to texas:because i saw what was happening. with typhus and leprosy. it won't be too long before typhus is spread by sneezing. so it's something california is on a slippery slope on. trish: i used to live in san francisco. there was a pulse there that people were proud of their homeless. if you do have diseases being spread, you have got to consider it as like from the public standpoint, don't you? don't you have to help some of these people to get them off the street into a safer location?

apparently, there's a complaint that a popular grocery store chain known as trader joe's is caving into, they're redesigning packaging on their peanuts, eliminating pictures of circus elephants because somehow having an elephant so offensive to -- >> right. trish: -- to elephants? >> i think there was some confusion on peta's part. they want to free the elephants, right in they don't want the elephants in the circus. however, i did some math, authority, this is fox business, after all, so i did some calculations. 0.0 elephants were actually freed because this packaging doesn't exist. [laughter] i don't know if they misunderstood and thought there were actual circus elephants in the grocery store. there were pictures of elephants. so they spent all this time, energy and effort -- trish: by the way, they had a new remake of it out, so that
