the filing dade line for super tuesday. for someone to jump in at this point like hillary clinton they would have to carry huge name recognition. trish: and money. kevin, you have got a lot of smart people on wall street saying to themselves, really? socialist? i think no matter how you slice it, anybody who has never made a buck or gone to work on a regular basis is going to start to say to themselves, do i want to be turning over this much of my paychecking to uncle sam? and i think the answer over and over again would be know no. you have got some wrongr young people on the fringe and the extreme element of the party that maybe isn't enthralled with the idea. but that's not where the party historically has been and i don't think that's where the party is now.

money would be on neither. we have seen michael bloomberg tease runs before. he's never done it. he has the money and could be a threats. but i think myself and other democrats don't want the spoiler effect. if you look at the major polls bind has the lead. he's holding his own. trish: i wouldn't count bloomberg out in terms of being a serious competitor. he's got the business background and that matters to america. so we shall see. it could get very interesting. thank you so much. coming up. dems slapping president trump for wanting to hold the g-7 in one of his resorts. so much so that the president reversed his decision.

show. you might say, hey, it's another ceasefire. that's good that people aren't firing at each other. how do you view this? >> at this point people are not firing at each other all that much. any tragic war situation, nobody is going to celebrate. putin has come in and he's been in that country, syria, for years. he's doing everything he can to undermine the alliance of nato which he considers his existential enemy, and that's understandable. aligning with erdogan who he sold air defense systems this past summer. he will do a lot more to assist that relationship. it's good for russia. but the question is, is it good for america? it allows us to get untangled from another war that does not

have a clear end in sight. there are 55 wars in this world today at various levels. we are involved in a number of them. i can't help but reflect object what president trump said last week standing there on the tarmac of dover air force base, families welcoming their loved one home in a casket. how much blood do we want to spill in these wars around the world? syria has been a fractured country since 2011. the kurds have been fighting erdogan and the turks for four decade. i'm not sure us being in the middle of it is going to resolve it anytime soon, and it's not necessarily in our best interests. nobody can tell me what national interests are at stake here. trish: to think americans are losing their lives over it is pretty tough. critics are saying you have got

kurds that we were aligned with and now they are being left for slaughter. i spoke with a gentleman on this program last night who spent years traveling with kurds throughout syria and the other parts of the middle east. he lived in iran and iraq. he's an investment fund manager for a fund that solely invests in iraq. >> i think ally is a very big word for this. i think a misleading one. we have a common cause with them. we had interests in common. the interests have now been largely satisfied. they were neighbors with isis and hence were at war with first as all isis neighbors were. they were partners in that struggle. trish: he's sort of saying look, they are not allies in the classic sense. they were a convenient partner for us in this fight against

isis. how do you think about that, given your military background. a lot of military folks think if you are fighting with someone in the trenches and protecting them, it's hard to walk away from it. >> we went in there, president obama sent a few of us in there because the kurds and all of eastern syria had been gobbled up by isis. so we said look, there is a vested interest in giving them some time to recuperate. and we did. we armed them, we equipped them and paid them and provided air defense and airstrikes and the like. however, that took advantage of that opportunity, too. they had every reason to want to cash in on their greater desire, that is to form a yo -- to forma kurdistan out of northeastern
