been tried out before, the second time. mohawk industry, this is a flooring company, big economics play having a great day. good day for stocks we will see how it goes next week. liz: great to see you. grady trimble in chicago, the big news in the big labor fight of the year. reporter: yes finally, the 40 day strike is officially over, both sides making the announcement today and general motors is eager to get its factories up and running again since they been down for the past six weeks. they will restart work at 30 u.s. factories immediately. they were waiting the past week for voters or workers to vote to approve a tentative agreement that will not become a contract. i want to show you the final vote, 57% of workers approving of this contract and only 43% say no. general motors ceo releasing a

statement saying we delivered a contract that recognizes our employees for the import contribution they make to the overall success of the company. as one team we can move forward. this contract included pay increases that, and keeps health insurance is same and includes an $11000 signing bonus. in the own statement the uaw thanked workers for their sacrifice on the picket lines for six weeks but that $11000 signing bonus will more than make up for what they lost during the strike and gm is going to be the one fitting the bill, the signing bonus will cost them $485 million and that will come right out of the cost immediately. i want to look at what is next. ford is next. this contract will be used as a template for the other automakers in detroit. essentially general motors the target company, now ford and the uaw eyes and they will get a similar deal for the uaw workers. it probably is not another

if he investigates and it looks like it'll reach into the fbi, intelligence committee and the department of justice under president obama, there are people who need to be held to account as to what happened to the fisa court and otherwise. i don't doubt for a second he will hesitate even in an election year of bringing criminal charges. liz: he hired him to look into the grand jury for that. i want to get to this point, politico is reporting that the president has fired a lot of people and force them to resign. here is chuck schumer on that. let's get your reaction to this. >> on the intelligence committee they have six days from sunday to get back at you. even for a practical hard-nosed businessman he's been really dumb to do this. liz: what do you think the intelligence committee would do. >> from what i am told, they are very upset with how he has treated them and talked about

them. liz: your reaction to that? >> i don't care if they're upset and i don't agree with senator schumer. if they committed crimes they're gonna be held to account and only because both the president of the united states and the attorney general have sufficient fortitude to take this on are we likely to get to the bottom of it. i also give great credit to michael horowitz, the inspector general who will come forward with a report that my guess probably as soon as the end of this month perhaps in november, and that will be the kicking off point with the ball changes hands from an inspector general report which indicates referrals for potential criminal prosecution and john durham who will carry the investigation. liz: durum reportedly looking into antitrust biased and with obama officials that they use pumped up claims allegedly fraudulent claims like the still dossier to justify the use of surveillance powers normally used for foreign terrorist and opposition campaigns. let me back up, that inspires a

warrant, are law enforcement sources say the person is an agent, you just have to show he's an agent of a foreign power, they have to prove that carter page was an agent of a foreign power. they also hid from the fisa court the allegation in the obama ministration how the democrats funded the still dossier to get the fisa word and they were paid for by the democrats. >> the critical question is going to be now that we know the facts, the question is who knew that, when, and were there any efforts to conceal that knowing those facts and the approval change going before a fisa court. the people who signed off and knew about the political origin of that material when intentionally failed to disclose that to the fisa court i have said all along that is an abuse of power and a problem and may well constitute a crime.

which i think and the worst case scenario if you look at this that's exactly what is alleged to have occurred in regard to rudy giuliani. the president had the right to do that. but if you do that and act outside the state department and the justice department, your bureaucracy is going to bite back, that does not indicate one way or another and anything improper was done. it's much what you show from senator schumer. that isn't what in fact happen. but to try to turn that into the mere fact that you did that as an abuse of power warranty impeachment seems to be an altogether entirely different matter. it's also inconsistent with the constitution. it's not enough to show there was an abuse of power, has to be the kind of abuse that violates public trust and there has to be a showing of treason, bribery or other high crime and misdemeanor. if you have both there's not a basis to remove a president. what lindsey graham is pointing to is equally as important. that's a question of selective leaking is a flawed process.

down power to a hundred 50000 customers as we can. californians have said it could be the new normal. jonathan in los angeles with more. reporter: good evening we're standing right now in santa clarita and canyon country about 40 miles north of los angeles where 43000 residents remain under evacuation orders and around 10000 homes are still under threat, at least a half a dozen have already been destroyed. this is one of them. if you look at the debris you can tell how ferocious those flames were. i want to give you a sense of the nature of these fires. we have this one destroyed right here and as rich flips around, 20 feet away the neighbors house not even touched. to give you a sense of how fierce these flames are, take a look as we step over some of the debris, this is the scorched

landscape with the flames of the past one to four hours came marching up, ravaging the hillside and if you can imagine looking over to the 14 freeway, one of the memes freeways, the people on the freeway at the time the flames were lighting up to the side of the tarmac. it is obviously a similar story up north, you mention the fires in sonoma county. some 49 homes and buildings destroyed there and officials are saying they believe it was one of the transmission towers that was not turned off by pacific gas and electric that may have been the cause of the fire. now pg&e does not want to take any more risks and warning close to 1 million customers may be without power this weekend. that is because the winds and the high temperatures are expected to remain up north and also down here in southern
