ambassador to ukraine, marie yovanovich and the assistant to mike pompeo. but schiff misread the transcripts of mckinley and yovanovich if he thinks they support his claims. they do not. their testimony bolsters and i vindicates the president. the dimms tried to paint 0 both yovanovich and mckinley as scared of and concerned about president trump. it seems the left is covering up for the damaging truth. within that 317 pages of testimony of the ambassador it's revealed she was aware of president trump's scepticism of ukraine. oversight committee staffer

it has to be a difficult distraction. today iran announcing it's running twice as many centrifuges as would have been permitted under the 2015 agreement. they continue according to your department's report to fund terrorism, hezbollah, hamas, the palestinian islamist jihad. are sanctions really working? >> this is precisely what president trump confront when he became president. we had an agreement that allowed iran to have all the money it needed to conduct the terror campaign you are seeing. they were engaged during the jcpoa. our efforts have been aimed at three pieces of the puzzle including the economic sanctions campaign. it's denied the resources.

president trump's rule that visa applicants prove they can provide insurance within 30 days of entering the united states. the judge said it would cause irreparable harm to immigrants. simon served as a lawyer for the aclu. and is married to democratic congresswoman suzanne bonamici. judge roberts said we do not have obama judges or trump judges, bush judges or clinton judges. what we have is an extraordinary group of judges doing their best to dough equal right to those appearing before them.

lou: let's turn to this -- the president. apparently some senators suggesting he make it a two-track presidency, impeachment on the right. the rest of his business on the left. don't you wish this was a world where you could bifurcate like that. >> it's simple when you are giving advice. it would be easier for the president to do that if the republicans in congress would step up more and handle the impeachment issue better. some of them are. but as you noted. lindsey graham and others, they are limited to going on television and talking about it. why has the senate played no role in any of this? you have these committees that would seem to be very pertinent to these issues. why can't you do counter programming to get to the whole story. lou: michael raises a good

question. what's the answer? >> they want to shut this thing down to get the president back to doing what he does best. sign a letter saying we are not going to find the president guilty and send it to the speaker of the house and send it to the president. i want everyone who is a republican to stand up and be counted. lou: to give credit where credit is due, they have opposed the nonsense, the rules -- it's amazing, this illegitimate activity they want rules for. i wonder how many of them they will abide. all of the republicans voted against the resolution. the senate looks squishy, a little wobbly. three or four of those names as usual. mitt romney who is by the way

polling a solid 18%. the country thinks he's a damn fool. >> i want the names of those 18%. i don't believe it's 18%. just the family members. lou: the issue is roberts, we don't have obama judges, we don't have trump judges. the hell we don't. why should we put up with this kind of nonsense. the chief justice should be the chief truth teller on that court. this is preposterous. >> the president appointed all the various vacancies left behind by obama and has filled those vacancies. he has done an extraordinary record. lou: what about the ones we have as chief justice who say there are no obama or trump judges.

>> there are a couple i would put up against anybody. lou: i think you are missing my point. how can we have a chief justice telling us not to believe our lying eyes when we see activist judges coming from the left, obama appointed, and originalist constitutionalist literal judges when it comes to the constitution. >> i think if we were to look at the immigration ruling, i would say that that is one area where you have seen this clear example of ruling against the president on all of his immigration plans from judges appointed by bill clinton or barack obama. almost universally they have been against him on the first round of every immigration

issue. lou: you are thoughts about saying the gop has to look more like america. saying effectively the gop must adapt and look more like america. >> he was an important element. he's african-american and we need more african-americans. but at the end of the day, a majority wins elections. and this president will appeal to a majority. that's an assumption in future demographics people will vote one way or another and i don't agree with that. >> i think that's right. that's a democratic way of thinking. we have to have a noah's ark of identity politics.

lou: we don't need two parties involved and engaged in group and identity politics. what i do think is critically important is we have a president who has achieved record low unemployment in this country, 50-year lows in unemployment for african-americans, for hispanics, forations, it's extraordinary what he has achieved. and he's the one reaching out communities, whether hispanic or african-american. i think he's done a marvelous job. we want everybody in this tent. i think group and identity politics. it's not working for the democrats. >> the country a year from yesterday will make a judge the. one year from today we'll have donald trump starting his second term. >> i think group policies are

exonerate her client. we'll be taking that up with sidney powell tomorrow evening. joining us tonight, tom fitton, president of judicial watch. let's start with first of all, sidney powell's defense of general flynn. it looks as though there has been an absolutely atrocious mischarge i of just d miscarriage of justice against the general. >> the justice department is saying anything sidney powell is saying can't be taken with any veracity by a court. in this case judge sullivan. if i were the attorney general in the least i would freeze the case to examine issues of misconduct. judge sullivan in the long run will take a look at this case

and demand accountability from the justice department. and attorney general barr needs to get ahead of the bar here and take some leadership saying we don't understand what went on under the last attorney general in terms of the targeting of general flynn. we need to figure this out given the allegations. it's not based on conjecture. it looks like they hid 302 material. lou: they say they can't find 302s. sidney powell is alleging it's clear that someone obviously a prosecutor or agent or someone changed 302s. >> the question is can peter strzok be trusted in this area? he's one of the interviewing fbi agents. there was an initial meeting with general flynn. an initial set of notes.

and it was finalized sometime later. it was on that that he was charged with lying to fbi investigators, even though it was conclude he didn't lie. lou: that conclusion came from andrew mccabe who across knowledged that the interviewing agents didn't think he was lying at all. >> this is one of the first mueller abuses. i highlight the crisis of confidence in the justice department and the fbi cause by mueller's misconduct that needs to be cleaned up forth with. lou: i want to turn to the farce in the house of keptives. the president says the republicans should release their own transcripts of witnesses who have been interviewed. do you think that's --

talks. we are within two weeks if the original timetable is going to be kept. what the chinese strategy has been, the last few weeks and last few days is when the most horse trading we would say gets done. they don't like to do longm-range confessions. i think wilbur ross said in bangkok today, i agree with him. this is getting very, very complicated. lou: is that just another way of saying it's just a bit raising greater doubts about the success of signing something? >> no, it's about the text and what is going to be included. there needs to be some kind of enforcement mechanism for phase one or the whole thing is just a disaster. pushing too hard -- the chinese

lou: wilbur ross, the commerce secretary made it sounds like they are coming off it. >> they will be on the list, i think is what he said. but they will have waivers, where us companies can sell chips to them. but huawei will stay on the list forever. lou: it's complicated when you have a national security threat thoonlt certain companies can do business with. >> i think the president is focused on the leverage he has. besides the tariffs, our own economic growth is part of our leverage. the president keeps mentioning how many million times more our gdp is more than a few years ago. the third is an effort to slow down the chinese closing on us. they have been growing three
