your homes. lou dobbs is next on the fox business network. lou: good evening, everybody, and happy thanksgiving eve. we begin with what has been another extraordinary day of records on wall street. the three major stock indexes closing at record highs. later in the broadcast we'll take up what is driving this stock market in this record-setting year. in other breaking news tonight. president trump signed a bill affirming u.s. support for the pro-democracy demonstrators in hong kong. we'll have more on this major development in the broadcast. asia expert gordon ching with us.

the president decided the united states knock longer tolerate the corruption of the next can drug cartels and the deadly consequences of the tens of billions of dollars of illegal drugs those cartels smuggle across our southern border. president trump ran on an agenda of securing the border. since taking office, the president has done just that. the trump administration working tirelessly to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and illegal drugs working with central mayor scan governments and members co, cracking down on caravans and false asylum seekers. the president's pressure on the mexican government led to 27,000 mexican troops on the borders helping curb illegal immigration to the united states. but as aggressive as mexico has been on cracking down on illegal immigration, the government of mexico appears reluctant to take

the same aggressive posture to fight the violence of the drug cartels. 80% of mexico is controlled or disputed by the cartels, even though the murder rate in mexico is on pace yet again for a record-setting year, through october. more than 29,000 people have been killed, up from 28,869 over the same period a year ago. president trump is suggesting he will designate those cartels as terrorist organizations. mexican president man well lopez obrador says he will cooperate with the united states but rejects the idea of ier vengs by the united states. joining us is tom homan to take up this issue.

the president is standing up and taking on the cartels despite the protestations originally by manuel lopez obrador. >> he's right on this issue. mexico can't dough feet the cartels without us. we have an experience we did it with noriega and colombia. we have a sophistication in our investigations. we have the forensics of financial investigations. we have talented investigators, talented prosecutors. mexico cannot succeed without us on this issue. lou: mexico can't succeed and the cartels depend on this country to succeed with their sex trafficking, their human

lou: top officials from the united states, mexico and canada meeting today in washington. they are trying to come up with a negotiated compromise that would allow speaker pelosi to sign it at least get a vote on it, usmca trade deal moving ahead apparently. let's find out what's going on. hillary vaughn with the latest with washington. reporter: they did make progress hammering out some details. but the deal is not done yet. canadian deputy prime minister arrived this evening with a rare warm welcome from ambassador robert lighthizer. three kisses on the cheek and a warm embrace. she left the negotiations iing

the talks are done. >> we committed to each other that we'll continue working hard, whether on the phone or in person very intensely the next few days. reporter: mexico's trade team said they made progress on one point. labor standard enforcement that democrats want looped into the agreement before a house vote. stopping goods at the border that won't meet their labor standard or sending inspectors into mexico if he thinks there are labor violations. i asked if democrats are asking too much?

>> [inaudible] a solution is going in the right direction. reporter: mexico's team says they will not agree to any enforcement mechanism for labor standards. so they proposed that a panel be used for any labor disputes in question and allow that panel to investigate any complaints of violation. but mexico is not positive speaker pelosi will get this done before the end of the year. i asked a trade representative if he thinks they will be able to get this deal done by christmas. his response to me was which christmas? lou: robert lighthizer the u.s. trade representative with a great sense of humor. on wall street stocks hit record highs for the third straight day. it's incredible, that ties a number of record closes for all

your thoughts on -- >> happy thanksgiving. >> happy thanksgiving. it's great to see you, and also to see there are more developments in the michael flynn case which looks as if it could well be flown out all together. and this delay on the inspector general's report. give us your insight as to what is at play there. >> i should point out that i have not seen michael flynn since the night he was fired and walked out of the white house. but he has a new lawyer, sidney powell, who you have on the show frequently. she is a cracker jack. she made her reputation getting cases and getting them reversed on the basis of abuse of power. the claim is michael flynn was ambushed and targeted and was not allowed access to his

records. she thinks that's an abuse of power. if it's anything like my experience with the justice department, it was. lou: you had to put up with it for months on end. >> yeah. lou: i am not going to put words in your mouth. how would you describe the experience, fair? due process assured? what people think of in america as justice? >> we have viewed the justice department -- we embeaut the justice department and the national intelligence community a lot of power. here is what happened to me. i was at my house in long island. and unannounced, fbi agents showed up at my door. i asked them what is this about? do i need a lawyer? >> they said you we can't tell you not to get a lawyer.

under attack by dimms who are relentlessly going after this president and trying to stop his administration and a justice department and fbi that still require a tremendous rehabilitation if they are to ever have a public image of integrity again. >> i think what people fail to realize, or maybe they don't care. these impeachment hearings. these continuous investigation when they are smoke in mirrors. if america is weak at home or divide at home. our adversaries see that. they think this is my moment. i will take advantage of america because it's dysfunctional. who knows what the north koreans might have done. trump is tough. he asked them -- lou: and he's smart as hell and he's standing up for this

country at every turn. you know what i find interesting about the radical dimms on capitol hill? why isn't there an investigation of them? what they are doing is dividing the country, third ones attacking the president of the united states. they are the ones serving the interests of russia and communist china. they are the ones dividing the country and creating just a mess. if i have ever sooner any reason to suspect collusion, it would be this instance in which they seem to be the radical dimms doing the bidding of russia and china. >> when they have these hearings they can't wait to rush out to the cameras and make a case and send out fundraising appeals. they are making money and raising their profiles off the fact i think they are endangering american national security. it's very sad. >> thanks for getting that

planned. a federal judge blocked president's executive order for immigrants to prove they have health insurance. support for impeachment continues to fall. researchers from quinnipiac found support dropped from 48% to 44%. that's the lowest level of support since nancy pelosi announced the so-called inquiry back in september. joining us the senior counsel for investigations for the house and senate. let's start with what we are watching here. the president's approval ratings are rising over this two-week period. the support for impeachment is falling. would you say the democrats are in significant political peril

here? >> good evening and thank you for having me. i do think that yeah there is a political risk sheer. and the polls are certainly not going the direction they would want them to go. when you are running an investigation like this and holding hearings like this, after every hearing you want to take stock, what worked, what didn't. the is indicating not much worked here. >> jerrold nadler is supposedly, he's going to be taking the baton from the absurdist radical dimms on the impeachment inquiry nonsense. who does he think he is issuing and i invitation to the united states and his counsel. this is a perceived farce by the american public. what is the source of his

ridiculous behavior. >> to me it seems likely stick on a pig. you look at how it unfolded. chairman nadler started an investigation and he didn't have legal standing to do so. you the president was dee need the due process the republican congress thought was essential for president clinton. as someone who constructed investigation. i'm not sure where we are here. the proseeding has been stacked. so everything is over. counsel comes in at last minute as window dressing. lou: and nadler as far as we know, doesn't have any material witnesses, that is, fact witnesses of any kind. it looks as if they are persisting because they are trying to say, i was going to i

save face, but save lipstick on that pig. >> as someone who used to put these things together and plan out how we dock an investigation, i'm not quite sure where we are going. i think we'll have a few hearings. i don't think there will be witnesses. i think there will be a discussion of the law. but i think it only coherent theme will be a continuation of what we have seen is what we have seen out of alice and wonderland. sentence first, verdict afterwards. >> it's ironic that there would and hear being the law which this group of radical dimms decided to simply ignore and frankly just insult throughout this entire process. i want to turn to the inspector general report that michael horowitz expects to be out on the 9th of december. we have some evidence there will be some action recommended

against kevin clinesmith, the fbi attorney. it looks like the battle is being prepared for the american public to expect no recommendation of action whatsoever. your thoughts? >> i'm not 100% sure what is going to come out in the ig report. i do think it will be interesting to see does the i.g. provide any leads to the independent investigation, attorney general barr's orders and the investigation' john durham is taking. what we know know now is a federal grand jury investigation, an investigation the attorney general ordered. what may x see there?

candidate to lead the intellectual property organization. imagine that. we'll take that up with gordon chang who is joining us here tonight. gordon, to see what china is suggesting. the world intellectual property organization. they want to lead it, and they are the leading they have of intellectual property in the world. every chinese national is required to spy if requested. now you will have one as the head of the world organization. it makes no sense. when you look at all this. when chinese nationals headed multi lateral organizations like interpol, always a disaster occurs. >> do you really think there is a chance in the world that even the u.n. would be dumb enough to elect a chinese national to the

intellectual property organization? >> i don't think that will occur because the united states and other countries are putting their weight behind the candidate from singapore. but it shows boldness that defies anything. >> singapore is one of the major sources of counterfeit goods that are exported into the united states. it gets complicated. it's getting simplified. the president has signed the shopping congress human rights and democracy act. and it is now law. he acknowledges that it complicates the u.s.-chain a trade discussions. but he signed it. he's standing up. this country is standing up for those no democracy forces in hong kong. and if xi jinping is upset about it, that's too bad. that's who we are.

point of fact. in four daysa laws go into effect in the people's republic of china that will expose every american company doing business there. every foreign company. their data, their intellectual property in every form will be wide open to china. >> december one you have the multi level protection scheme going into effect. it requires three standard and these standard mean no encryption. companies can't use encryption. they can't use virtual private networks to protect their data. and there are no private servers, so china will see everything. and they can turn the data over to state enterprises that compete against our companies. lou: we are four days away from

the deadline. do you think we are adequately prepared to withdraw u.s. company's data and information, get out of mainland china in time. >> no, i don't think so. i think there have been behind the scenes discussions between the trump administration and xi jinping. those discussions have gone on for years. there is another deadline which is january when china's encryption law goes into effect. you can't have encryption under the december rules any way. but china is attacking foreign companies across the board. once china gets into the networks, it will have all the information of u.s. companies in china and around the world. this sort of facilitates it of course. this gives it color of law.
