tariffs on imports of u.s. pork and soybeans. look at what happened in asia overnight, positive, nikkei, shanghai, hang seng and kospi all moving higher. cheryl: the europeans watching the u.s.-china trade fight as well. we have slight green arrows across the board in europe. the top story, no choice but to act, that's what nancy pelosi claimed while announcing democrats will move forward with articles of impeachment. republicans are biting back, demanding their own opportunity to call witnesses. ashley: yeah, back and forth. griff jenkins is in washington with the possible next steps. griff. >> reporter: good morning. here come those articles of impeachment, the fourth time in history congress has taken such action. the next step is drawing them up in the judiciary committee where they'll encompass the report that included charges of bribery and object vox. they will move -- obstruction. they will move to markup the

articles, vote on them and send them to the rules committee and to the full house floor for a vote. the timing on the calendar is unclear at this point. the vote is likely to fall down partisan lines. speaker pelosi was asked in a town hall if this was all about politics. >> in you wake up the day after election day 2020 and find that impeaching president trump helped him get him reelected, would you have regrets. >> this is about honoring our oath of office. >> reporter: across the capitol, mitch mcconnell will have to begin preparing for a senate trial in the new year where the white house believes they have a better chance for a fair process and the ability to call witnesses denied by house democrats, mcconnell blasted speaker pelosi for failing to get anything done for the american people. >> the speaker gave a speech on

election. cheryl: the white house is wondering why usmca has not been set for a vote. in a meeting a the white house yesterday, the president called the whole process a hocks and he also said -- hoax and he said he's looking at tariffs against countries that have not paid 2% for nato defense. he said the china trade talks are going well but the tariffs may still go forward. ashley: a scathing report from uber said the company had over 3,000 reports of sexual assaults last year, nine people were murdered and 58 killed in crashes over that same period but uber maintaining 99.9% of its trips were safe. the stunning report is part of uber's long-aawaited safety study. it comes amid intense criticism of the company's safety practices and pressure to be more transparent. cheryl: protesters taking to the street for a second day in france. workers are angry about pension reforms being proposed by

president emmanuel macron which would see them retiring later or facing reduced payouts in their he retirement. the violent clashes broke out in a number of cities across the country with an estimated 800,000 taking part. many crucial services have been disrupted because of the demonstrations. tourist sites have been closed. the president there reportedly going to address the strikes at some point over the weekend. ashley: there was no harm, that's what the attorney for elon musk presented yesterday when showing a picture of the man that the tesla ceo called a pedo guy on twitter. it shows him standing with theresa may. he claims that probably would never have happened if it was a -- if he was a pedophile. he was one of the workers who rescued the soccer team from a flooded cave in thailand. the tes tesla's ceo defense is demanding an apology about comments he made about musk in

an interview. cheryl: the largest ipo ever, saudi aramco, setting a sale price for the ipo and it's raising the company value. the oil company says it's going to sell shares, 853 each, $8.53 to be clear. but in the overall value, it's being sold at $25.6 billion. that puts the value of the company at $1.7 trillion. this tops big-time, apple and microsoft. the offering drew heavy demand. many americans are trying to get in on the action, for sure. ashley: more problems for google. a labor union ayou caution it of illegally firing workers to stop the formation of a union. the communication workers of america filing a federal labor charge against. >> al: take bet fo-- alphabet fg four workers. they were active leaders in the movement to organize the company according to the charge.

google has not responded but did acknowledge last month it hired a consultancy firm known for defeating unionism. cheryl: four people are dead after an armed robbery led to a wild police chase. ashley: this is quite a story. tracee carrasco with the details. tracee: four people are dead after robbers hijacked a ups truck and led police on a chase, ending in a shootout. both suspects were killed along with the ups driver and a fourth victim found in a car near the shootout. it began in nearby coral gables where the suspects robbed a jewelry store and exchanged gunfire with police. a high ranking executive at blackrock is out. mark weissman who was in the running to replace the outgoing ceo, lauren sphik, was fired after failing to disclose his relationship with an employee. this is the second high profile dismissal from the company in

francis newton stacy, with optimal capital director of strategy. francis, thank you for being here. is the market becoming a little more number to the impeachment proceedings, it's going on, people are kind of bored of it, tired of it and the markets continue to march on? >> i think so. i don't think we'll see a real reaction in the markets unless we get an indication that he might be removed from office. you all the markets care about is the china deal, china deal, china deal. instead of it's the economy, stupid, now it's the china trade deal, stupid. ashley: before that, every headline had a 100, 200 point impact. doesn't seem that way right now. are you confident they'll get something done? what happens if we get phase one of the china deal done, we get usmca comes up to a vote and goes through, where do the markets go under that scenario? >> the china trade deal i think is mostly priced in. i think the rise in the markets recently -- you've got global gdp going like this. you've got equity markets going

like this. they're so divergent at this moment in time, i think a lot of the lower volatility and a lot of the up in equities is the anticipation we're going to get a china trade deal which will give us certainty. if we don't get a deal, i see a massive correction coming to reprice the economic data. ashley: when you say massive, what are you talking about? >> it's a little early for that. ashley: like a 5% correction? >> easily, actually. with some of the economic data, it's still kind of hanging in there and some of the economic data has been decelerating for a while, since the third quarter of 2018. so markets have largely been ignoring this scenario because of the china trade deal and i think the volatility is lower than normal because nobody wants to short these markets in front of a possible deal. or a tweet. ashley: there's still a lot of money on the sidelines. they must be kicking themselves because they've been missing the bull reason that's been going for some 10 years. >> that's true. a lot of people got out this fall because they were worried

about china trade volatility and they missed the last leg up and some of them are rushing in. we've got the december 15th cutoff. as far as the china trade deal, i don't think either one has a choice and neither side wants to look like they're bending to the other side but china, the local credit markets are breaking down. they don't have much of a choice. and then trump, for obvious reasons, impeachment and economic data, it's better to get a deal. ashley: five seconds left. so overall you're bullish? >> well, i am bullish. i'm interested to see if the deal comes through and if the deal comes through, i know we're going to get an uptick in nature get. i'm interested to see if that's sustainable or how much is baked in. ashley: the jobs report is coming out. are you confident where we are in the market? >> it remains to be seen. it's very important for the fed and iand the fomc meeting.

cheryl: apple may be changing the way you charge your iphone. there's a huge uproar about it. let's bring in brett larson. >> good morning. apple has been fawned throughout the years -- fond throughout the year of changing ports, getting rid of things, getting new things. that's why we have to carry around adapters so we can use our corded head phones on our newer model phones that still have the lightning connector. there's talk they might get rid of the lightning connector and make it a fully wireless experience. if you have the iphone 8 or greater it can charge wirelessly. you put it on a charging pad, the she charger and off it goes, it. starts to charge. the wireless charging is a little better because it outs ss off once the phone is completely charged up and saves the battery in the long run. what if you're somewhere where there isn't the wireless charging. it's not necessarily a standard just yet. it seems aggressive to be moving

the election. house speaker nancy pelosi raising eyebrows after dodging questions brought the impeachment in the process. joining me to talk more about it, siri kim and kelly grace gibson. kelly, i want to talk to you first. seeing joe biden lose his temper like that, getting into it with that obviously nonvoter, the guy is not going to vote for him. was that a bad look for biden, do you think. >> everybody is waiting for joe biden to step out on all this. he's flying below the radar and numbers are slipping in iowa. the combination of family and politics and lots of passion, but there are responses coming out of this that makes it seems like he's ready for a fight against president trump, that people are waiting for this feistiness. maybe as a campaign professional it wouldn't be my suggestion for a candidate to respond that way, i think that there is a world in which people are starting to see him really gear up for this big fight ahead of him. cheryl: i want to move on to

the impeachment with you, siri, because nancy pelosi telling her caucus to move forward but some are saying she is setting up her members for failure in 2020. we saw how this played out during the bill clinton years and what happened to republicans after that in the following election. are democrats going down the same scary path? >> i do agree that they are going down the same scary path for two reasons. adam schiff, jerry nadler, nancy pelosi, they were all swept into power when newt gingrich lost his speakership after they chose to impeach bill clinton. i think they're very conscientious of that fact. more importantly, people should pay close attention to this calendar. senator elizabeth warren and sense r tore bernisenator bernie taken off the campaign trail and they will be on the well of the senate floor. former vice president joe biden, he will be called as a witness. this is not a hearing where he can dodge whatever he says he thinks he can do.

the chief justice of the united states supreme court will be presiding over this trial and joe biden will be sitting there, testifying. cheryl: kelly, respond to that. >> well, i think that in terms of the senators, biden and warren, or sorry, sanders and warren, having to leave the trail to come back and sit trial, it's not so harmful for democratic voters especially early state voters who are highly educated and support the impeachment in high numbers. as long as their campaigns do a good job communicating to voters that this is a constitutional duty to hold the president accountable, that's something the voters can get behind. as far as joe biden, there is -- it's complicated. it's a very complicated situation between what's happening with the impeachment and the re-election. it's fundamental to the 2020 re-election to proceed with this impeachment because it's all about the president asking for presidents to interfere with our democracy. that's our constitutional you duty to explore and hold him to

account. cheryl: siri, nancy pelosi talked about this. she did the cnn town hall. you know, the moderator very sqy asked her, are you worried about what this will do to the party. in the swing states we're seeing polling especially among independents starting to back you a way for the idea of impeachment, there is less support than there was a week ago. nancy pelosi is not only saying she's not worried about it, she wants to defend the constitution, she doesn't hate the president but she said we should embrace the art as americans. is nancy pelosi hank handling hs well from a pr perspective. >>-- perspective.>> she is not. the constitution is pretty much set in stone and i think the democratic party should be very concerned about the fact that over 20 of their 31 freshmen from 2018 are in districts that president trump won. these people when they talk to their constituents, they want to talk about drug pricing, usmca,

they want to talk about persistent unemployment, they want to talk about the issues as relates to their neighbors. the character of president donald trump is not what they want to talk about and thank you to the democratic party for making donald trump the number one issue in 2020. cheryl: she was asked, look, if he gets reelected because of this, are you going to take the blame. that's when she got he defensive. she brought up the fact that during the bill clinton impeachment hearings he was under impeachment because he was, quote, stupid. that struck he me that she said this about bill lyn clinton. >> she is managing this better than any elected official could. they are talking about the issues concerning their neighbors in addition to the impeachment inquiry. she's trying to put it in context. the donald trump impeachment hearing is nothing like the clinton impeachment hearing. democrats believe that president trump took advantage of his office and that's really
