to spread further nuclear weapons on the peninsula? >> kim jong-un is one of the most ruthless dictators, and he's kind of showing off his power now. he just announced recently he will have some type of new strategic weapon. there are concerns he will set off another nuclear test blast, perhaps a long range missile test. i'm told by u.s. officials that the u.s. has made it very clear to china and indirectly to north korea that any resumption of missile testing will bring a harsh response from the united states. i don't know what that will be. my guess is it will be tougher sanctions, perhaps ramping up some of the military exercises in south korea. pete: do you think china wants more agitation on the korean peninsula? you know, they have their own problems in hong kong that they haven't been able to solve. could they be tied briefly in >> the chinese are surrounded by unstable areas and have no interest in seeing a stable korean peninsula. they like it that way.
