democrats, it has reached a truly gross level. watch. >> the president has taken action that is unconstitutional. >> the president is in violation of the war powers act. >> he is truly taking us right to the edge of war. >> it was a reckless decision that increased the risk to americans all around the world. >> this was very clearly an act of war by this president without any kind of authorization or declaration of war. trish: okay. okay, let's not forget what has actually transpired here. we took out a terrorist who killed hundreds of americans and was threatening our u.s. embassy personnel in baghdad and making threats to additional personnel, u.s. personnel throughout the region. and here's a quick refresher for anyone who doubts whether or not we have shown iran the benefit of the doubt. we certainly have. iran violated the terms of its lousy agreement with president obama. that's on them. president trump tore it up. iran responded with attacks on

oil fields and by shooting down a u.s. drone. we stood by. until iran threatened american lives by attacking our u.s. embassy in baghdad and threatened additional attacks on americans throughout the region. president trump then responded by killing the man, the terrorist and his associates, responsible for that attack on the embassy as well as the deaths of an estimated 600 americans. and mainstream media responds by putting this terrorist on a pedestal? >> by killing qassem soleimani, the u.s. has stripped iran of an inspirational military leader. >> he is arguably or was arguably the second most powerful man in the country. >> soleimani is difficult to convey how revered he is in iran. >> killing soleimani does nothing but feed donald trump's ego. trish: inspirational leader? meanwhile, some iranians are

insisting that the worst is yet to come for america. these iranians are chanting "death to america "in the streets, iranians like the daughter of the general that was killed. she's now promising thousands of deaths to american soldiers. and somehow the democrats think president trump should not have defended our embassy and our people? look, it's pretty simple. you mess with us, you're taking your chances, iran. this is not a mr. nice guy obama in office right now, so there will be consequences. meanwhile, i want to stress that this is not, it is not world war iii. this is not going to be a drawn-out conflict because, you know what? we don't need it to be. the u.s. doesn't need it to be. we can very swiftly deal with the bad guys in iran just as we have proven. iran's leadership has had plenty of chances to try to work out a new deal with president trump. how many times did he say he was willing to talk to them? quite a few, you'll recall.

>> i think he's going to want to meet. i think iran wants to get this situation straightened out. i do believe they will probably end up wanting to meet, and i'm ready to meet they want to. -- anytime they want to. if we could work something out that's meaningful, not the waste of paper that the other deal was, i would certainly be able to meet. trish: and yet the bad guys in charge right now are totally crazy. they shot down a drone, they attacked our embassy and threatened additional attacks. they want our attention. they want to tart a war. to start a war. but it's not a war they're going to get. they're going to get manager that's actually much worse for all those crazies in charge. they're going to get strategic strikes that take out the bad guys making bad decisions. we did it with osama bin laden, with the number one and number two in command with isis, and we just did it with iran's top general.

and we can and we will do it with iran's religious zealots clamoring for war. there need not be any war, just eradication of these horrific oppressors that are starving their people all in the name of religion. they're the ones that need to go. and judging by what the united states and this president is capable of, they just might. all that said, it's important in times like this for the united states to actually be united. all this internal bickering and the finger-pointing from the likes of candidates that want this president's job or if from people like ilhan omar who has over and over and over again shown her anti-israel viewpoint on so many occasions, or from people like michael moore, yes, michael moore who just wants attention, for this kind of stuff to be said and happening, it's not great, it's not helping. we should all be troubled by democratic leadership that's willing to use this moment as a

political chip, which is exactly what they're doing. if you want to have a substantive conversation about how to handle iran at this critical moment, that's fine. that's important. we need to, so let's discuss it, but do not for the sake of your own political power make excuses for a regime that wants to kill us. that's tonight's intel. joining me right now, retired commander u.s. navy seal veteran dave sears and dr. zuhdi jasser. dr. jasser, i'll start with you. it seems as though the mainstream media and some members of the democrat party are trying to make excuses for soleimani when we know this was a bad guy who hurt a lot of people, killing 600 americans and potentially could have done much, much worse. what do you make of the media reaction right now? >> i mean, it really, trish, exposes how corrupt and obsessed they are with president trump. and how corrupt their ideas are. i mean, it's a no-brainer.

and yet to them now it seems as if the night has become day and the day has become night. it's upside down morality. soleimani versus a guy who had a treasury of billions of dollars, tens of thousands of troops committing war crimes on a daily basis with chemical weapons in syria, mass killing of innocents in yemen and elsewhere and in iraq now and attacks our embassy, and ilhan omar has the temerity to say that president trump is the monitor? i mean, seriously, this really shows that not only do they not have any credibility, they're going to be on the wrong side of history. for the first time, trish, syrians are handing out sweets and joining with their families for the fact that one of the most evil people in iran is 6 feet underground or soon will be today. trish: like you said, day is

night, night is day, and anything this president does right now is going to come under attack in a way that is really, i think, unlike -- as i said earlier -- anything we have seen in modern history. which is not good for our cup. let me get back to who he was, dave. you know, 600 americans that are dead as a result of this guy. is the world in a much safer place having him gone? >> it is, it's much safer. and that's really just the surface. the 600 americans that were a result of his pushing in these explosive projectiles and these bombs into iraq. he's done things, he tried to orchestrate -- remember, a washington, d.c. restaurant bombing that was only disrupted by good dea work, it would have taken out hundreds of people in d.c. he's done things in yemen, syria. this guy was a designated terrorist by the obama administration working for the number one state-designated sponsor of terror. he is a bad guy that is gone,

and the world -- trish: what i like about how we did this is they were able to be as strategic as they were. of course, ilhan omar and others would say this is somehow an assassination. but they went after the guy and his associates. and so you're not talking about taking out hundreds of peoples and having casualties of innocent people. but you going after the ones that are actually causing all the trouble. so, dave, from the sort of u.n. perspective, you're not supposed to do that. but why would you risk losing innocent people when you can take out the bad ones? >> exactly. you have to take out the terror threat. i think their whole argument was blown out of the water today when jeh johnson, former dhs secretary -- but also, more importantly, the former head lawyer, general counsel for the department of defense -- said this was completely legitimate in what he did. he's a designated terrorist, he's on the list, and we had every right and need to do it. trish: so, suety jasser, where

does this leave us now? the democrats are all worried that iran's going to do something, but whether you had done this or not, right, iran's still going to try to do something. don't forget they were trying to go after american assets overseas already. so that's sort of a given. for us to roll over and play dead and just hope for the best doesn't seem like a strategy that's ever going to work. does this cause them to back off, or does it get worse? >> well, i think their playbook is not going to change. they'll continue to find sort of low hanging fruit, if you will, or targets and try to claim and save face. but at the end of the day, we are much safer without soleimani than we were when he was alive. will that mean the fact that we have to move troops, we have to move whatever it is that's left in iraq? remember, the choice -- the binary choice we had was to leave him alone and not respond on the attacks to the embassy and the contractor, or to do something. the choice that made us vulnerable in iraq was obama's

♪ ♪ trish: the president under fire tonight by the left and mainstream media for tweets sent over the weekend pomsing the destruction of 52 major iranian sites, some of which are deemed of cultural significance. let this serve as a warning that if iran strikes any americans or american assets, we have targeted 52 iranian sites representing the 52 american hostages taken by iran many years ago. some at a very high level and important to iran and iranian culture, and those targets and iran itself will be hit very fast and very hard. the austin wants no more threats -- the usa wants to more threats. the head of iran says targeting cultural sites is a war crime. ilhan omar agrees, saying the

same thing. so does aoc. now, when secretary pompeo was asked about it over the weekend, he said this. listen. >> we'll be inside the system. we always have and we always will. i've seen what we are planning in terms of the target set. i'm sure the department of defense is continuing to develop options. the president was getting to this point in the past, previous administrations have allowed shia militias to take shots at us, and at best we ponded in theater try -- responded in theater trying to challenge and attack everybody running around with an ak-47 or a piece of indirect artillery. we've made a different approach. you can't get away with using proxy forces and think your homeland will be safe and secure. trish: and that's a good point. in other words, if you mess with us, there will be consequences. we're not going to have all these little proxy wars going on. and by the way, why on earth are we playing by one set of rules while they're out there playing by another in joining me right now, turning point usa founder

charlie kirk. it's good to see you, charlie. >> thank you. trish: you know, i mean, we're not allowed to do this, we're not allowed to do that. there are those who are trying to say somehow it's an assassination if you take out their general who's over there trying to plot and plan attacks against americans, who's trying to take out our u.s. embassy personnel. but it seems to me, as i said earlier, you know, if you can be strategic, if you can go after the big guys that are the big problems and save everyone else, that's a whole lot better than having some massive war between two countries. >> that's correct. and soleimani's daughter has now been calling for backlash against u.s. service members and each their children in recent days. i mean, what kind of rules are they playing by there? how many americans, unfortunately, lost their lives at the hands of this evil individual? and president trump acted decisively and clearly, legally and morally correct when other presidents might not have done what he did.

and he did it in a very strategic way, as you mentioned. not to mention, look, an attack on our embassy must be treated like an attack on our sovereign soil. just because it's 4,000 miles away, an embassy is governed by the secretary -- the department of state, it is our soil, it is our laws, it is our citizens that are staffing it. and if they would have been any further, it could have been a site we never want to see again, and president trump wanted to make sure there's a policy of deterrence against the iranian regime to make sure that this is very clear if you attack american soil, henceforth our embassy, there will be consequences to pay. trish: yeah. and, you know, he said something, and i'm ooh going to share it with you. a lot of people will be very critical of this, but i think he's making a point here. he said on air force one to the media, and i quote, this is the president: they're allowed to kill our people, they're allowed to torture or and maim our people, they're allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people, and we're not allowed to touch their cultural sites? it doesn't work that way.

in other words, he's saying, you know, if you want to, if you want to go after us, we're going to come back at you. we're going to come back at you hard. and maybe that's a message a country like this, that thinks they can play by an entirely different set of rules, charlie, kind of needs to hear. >> that's exactly right. and, look, we tried the policy of appeasement under president obama. if there was one common theme of president obama's second term, it was how can we get as much money to the iranian regime so they can continue to fund terror and try to grow against america's influence in the world. and if you look whether it be a billion dollars in cash in the middle of the night or the lifting of sanctions, the common theme was the more money you send to iran, the more they're going to reroute to its terror cells across the middle east. soleimani did this in syria in support of the syrian civil war which resulted in tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of innocent people being killed and millions being displaced, the funding of hezbollah against our greatest ally in the middle east, israel

and, of course, against american service members in iraq, estimates go anywhere between 200-600 americans that died. trish: [inaudible] go ahead. >> he died on the very road where he killed a lot of americans in iraq many years prior. trish: even in latin america, you look at the bombings in bane nose arrows in 199 0s, he was responsible for those. so this is a guy who's killed a lot of people, and now you've got ilhan omar and al of alexana ocasio-cortez and others jumping to his defense. what does that tell you where we are right now? >> look, this tells you that they hate donald trump more than they love america. when osama bin laden was killed, we praised president obama for the action, and we said this is a great day for america. we took politics off for a day and said this is a good thing. we went to the streets with our flags and said an evil man is no

ellis. jenna, it's good to see you. >> good to see you too, trish. trish: we have it written out, the house has the ability to impeachment and then it goes to trial in the senate. but if the house is not willing to send the articles of impeachment to the senate, what does that mean? >> yeah. well, it means that nancy pelosi is being incredibly hypocritical and ironic here that the very thing she's projecting onto president trump is what she herself is leading the way doing, which is obstructing the senate, obstructing justice and creating a constitutional crisis. the democratic leadership here have obstructed justice, they've obstructed the senate, and they've upended the constitution because, first, they refused a fair process, a constitutional process through the impeachment. then they voted on articles that didn't even contain a crime. they weren't anything related to article ii of the constitution. and now she is refusing to send the articles, which is her

obligation, until the senate agrees to simply hold the trial according to her terms? she has no power whatsoever to do that. let's remember, the constitution provides specific limited power to each of the coordinate branches of the federal government for a purpose. >> she has no authority here x to try to obstruct justice and try to say that she can control the senate trial is refusing to allow justice to take place -- trish: it is. obviously -- [inaudible conversations] this is a takeover of the u.s. government. i mean, this is the kind of stuff that i studied down in latin america, okay? this is not supposed to happen in the united states. we're supposed to have a peaceful transition of power, but you know, jenna, they never wanted a peaceful transition of power. they have been calling for impeachment since day one. they have been looking for something, and the latest, of course, being war crimes. the democrats are not interested in the rule of law, the u.s. constitution or the fact that we are all under the law and their positions are under the constitution. they are only interested in their own power, and they will do that and try to get it by whatever means necessary. so even now this weekend to point out, try to create this false narrative that somehow president trump doesn't have the authority for this airstrike? they're forgetting that he has the vested power to respond to an imminent threat without congressionallal approval. -- approval. it's specifically written in article ii -- trish: trying to curb that. >> right. and this resolution will be absolutely constitutionally meaningless. the house cannot overrise and change the u.s. institution as much as she may want to. trish: where does this go? does this wind up in the supreme court's hands? you know, to think that this entire charade, this schiff show, if you would, right? in the house, not pass along the articles of impeachment to the senate, and then meanwhile, you

know, effectively accusing him -- well, she hasn't done this directly, but just wait, jenna, given that everybody else is doing this on the squad, you know, of war crimes or trying to curtail his executive war powers, i mean, it's crazy stuff. >> right. and i think that the supreme court should step in, and they should say, okay, what does an impeachable offense constitute. let's make sure that everyone understands moving forward this isn't just an inherently political process. and also for everything else that the left is trying to blame president trump saying he's outside of the margins of the constitution, we know that he's not. i would love to see the supreme court, of their own authority, take this up and draw the lines as their responsibility -- trish: well, and how about -- [inaudible] right? the muslim ban that wasn't, you know? >> absolutely. trish: he had the executive power and authority to make decisions on who could enter our country at a given time based on

to be in the world of energy today. the deal that you spoke of earlier between aramco which is going to result in an investment of billions of dollars down in texas and louisiana are going to create thousands of jobs in that area. i just want to give you a little context of how big this deal is. you alluded to it in your opening. you said they're going to buy roughly five million tons per an mum of natural gas. -- an numb. that would heat about four million homes every year. that's larger than some states, trish. trish: so that's great. and one of the realities of all this in terms of us having become energy independent is it's not just significant from an economic perspective. it means jobs and that's wonderful, it's industry here, but also from a national security standpoint it's important. and when you look at the world right now, i know that we're getting a lot of u.s. workers,

sir, out of iraq. how's that going right now? because, you know, and to my point earlier and the point that you've made, you don't really need iraq. but nonetheless, we've had a lot of operations there, and we've had to get workers out. >> sure. those are american workers that are producing or servicing many of these fields around the world. you know, the united states leads in the oil and gas production for a reason. we are the very best at the production of this. it's not just that, you know, we have a lot of it here, but we have technologies availabletous that we are sharing with the rest of the world. and as those american companies and as those american workers travel the world and find themselves in places like iraq, we have an obligation to protect them and protect those investments. so those are our interests there. and, you know, as the president has pointed out, we will take those steps that are necessary to protect those americans. trish: let me ask you about cybersecurity because i know your department works on securing our energy assets here. what are the concerns about iran retaliating through some kind of cyber attack? how prepared are we for that,

and how sophisticated is iran on all that? >> we are very prepared for this. these are not new threats to our energy grid, our electricity grid in certain cases or other energy structure infrastructure. these are threats that have been here for some time. it's a threat we recognized very early in the trump administration. the president directed then-secretary perry to look at this issue and devise a game man to address these particular threats. secretary perry did exactly that. we created a new office at the department of energy that is specifically focused on this threat. the u.s. department of energy has the responsibility for the energy sector, cybersecurity threats within the energy sector. and we coordinate closely with our colleagues over the department at the homeland security. trish: yeah, no, i hope so. the military, military personnel recently came out and said that there was some minor cyber attack on the u.s. that was orchestrated by iran, but it was entirely minor, and it didn't really have any ramifications --

>> sure. trish: these, i imagine, are things you need to be thinking about critically in terms of our own energy assets. >> we do, we do. but these are somewhat -- you know, what we're seeing so far are somewhat what we might refer to as routine cyber activity. it's something that we see on a very regular basis. the u.s. industry in particular is very well prepared. trish: all right, good. we need to be. and in terms of oig -- oil prices, not to get too businessy, but can the u.s. economy, can we withstand any kind of turmoil that happens as a result of cutoff of supply in iraq? >> yes, i think we can, and i think you're seeing it in oil pricing today. a few months ago the iranians attacked an oil field in saudi arabia, and we saw prices take a very quick jump upward, very small jump, as a matter of fact, and it came right back down in a short range. and we see exactly the same thing here. actually, a little bit less of a shock --

crimes, but just all those hollywood stars up there collecting an award, they couldn't take ricky's advice, now, could they? >> well, of course, because they already had those moments scripted. they are waiting for their social justice warrior moment, and they were going to do it regardless, even if it made them ridiculous. even though joaquin phoenix did talk about climate change, he did do something interesting, he called out the climate change warriors for their private jet usage, sometimes from places in california to other places in california that they're easily drivable or if they prefer to take their bikes, they could certainly do that. but he called them out. so at least they are starting to call each other out a little bit. i have a feeling we're not going to see that too many more times, but it doesn't matter because we're not watching anyway. right? if it's not russia, it's ukraine. and if it's not ukraine, now it's somehow war crimes? i mean, let's not forget this is a man who is responsible for as many as 600 american soldiers' deaths. he's orchestrated terror attacks all around the world. >> well, one would almost start to think that many on the left seem to hate the united states of america just because donald trump is our president. and, again, calling war crimes, this president actually should be congratulated because he's exposing the left for who they truly are. he got them no to defend iran, of all places. in fact, the number one state sponsor of terror, he got the left to go on and defend them just was they hate this -- because they hate this president so much. when barack obama got osama bin laden, i rooted for this country and our president. trish: i was thinking about that very same thing this morning, just about how heartened i was by that moment.
