could it possibly be true. but this ways happened. probably it's the number one reason i'm running. america lost 60,000 factories under the previous administration. 60,000. you wouldn't believe that's possible but you know it's true. i said it 50 times and the fakers back there never correct it. it's true. it's true. if i was slightly off. if it were -- if i was off by two factories. there would be a headline. donald trump gets to be a pinocchio again. think of it. 60,000 factories. plants and factories closed. closed. they went to mexico, they went to china. 60,000. take a look at a map and put 60,000 little dots. you wouldn't believe it could be that's. but it is.

60,000 closed, gone. they are all coming back. they are all coming back. right now just in a very short period of time we added 12,000 brand-new factories and many more are coming in. administration's war on american energy and we ended the war on clean beautiful coal it's being shipped to vietnam and being shipped all over the world. while every democrat running for president wants to shut down our coal mines, we are putting our minors back to work. what they do with coal today is incredible. clean coal. with the help of energy workers right here in ohio, the united states is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world by far. number one. we were number one. every top democrat candidate has pledged to eliminate american production of oil and natural gas. how does that work? there is a state known as texas.

i won texas by a lot just like i won ohio by a lot. how would you like to go into texas and say we don't want your oil or natural gas anymore. how about beto. he said i was born to be president. anybody that says that, i said that's the end of his career. remember he had the cover of the magazine. sleaze bag magazine. he was born to be president, but after that he came tumbling down. he was from texas. he was against religion, oil and guns. abraham lincoln could not win in texas with that platform. but you have people that want to shut down the soil industry. if you do that, you will shut down half of your businesses. and the rest of them will not be able to pay because the cost of this energy would be so expensive. we have all terms of energy. and we are doing great.

but they want to cripple your state's economy. but the voters of ohio will never let that happen. never going to let it happen. ask. our air, and our water wright now is cleaner than it's been in 40 years. and sadly i can't say historic because a couple hundred years ago there was nobody here. right? i assume 200-300 years ago was cleaner probably. but you never know. but our water and our air is cleaner than it's ever been. i took us out of that horrible paris accord. i said how are you doing with the paris accord. don't ask. saved trillions of dollars. that was put in there to hurt us in my opinion. we were paying money to india,

we were paying money to china. china's didn't kick in until 2030. russia's kicked in before -- they were 996. that was -- 1996. that was a dirty period of air. we kick in now. we would have spent trillions of dollars. we would have had to close up i think at least 25% to 30% of our businesses. who the help would make a deal like that? how unfair. you look at russia. you look at china and india. they have mass idea breaks. we got no breaks and we are paying money. i say sometimes to france, how are the yellow vests working out? they don't like raising their taxes and sending the money to faraway places they never heard of.

we are in good shape. it took a certain amount of courage to do that. i said i'll get killed on this one. i did the and i was applauded. because the people get it. the people know what we are doing. and they are tired of being ripped off by the rest of the world. they are tired of being ripped off by the rest of the world. for decade, career politicians promise i'd to defend the workers of ohio, then they went to washington and voted for the same globalist policies that devastated your communities and slipped away your jobs. you know that better than anybody. but the betwril ofio workers and u.s. workers ended the day i took the oath of office. and you see that because you set a record. i immediately canceled the obama administration's job-killing catastrophe which would have

dealt a death blow to the united states auto industry, the trans-pacific partnership. it was going to be worse than nafta. nafta i always say the worst deal. i think it would have been worse. it would have taken the car industry. that was a setup for the united states to get pleased. the usmca will create over 100,000 new auto jobs. and our factories will not be closing and moving other faraway land. we'll keep them right here. [cheers and applause] and that's going to include because we take care of our great auto workers of toledo, the home of jeep. how good is jeep. and i have taken the toughest ever action against china's chronic trade abuses including

tariffs on $370 billion worth of chinese-made goods, bringing billions and billions of dollars into our treasury. and i gave some of that money was they were targeted to our farmers. our farmers did just fine. now the deal is done and the farmers are doing very well. we love our farmers. and they never complain. they never complain. the fake news, they will go and talk to the farmers. what do you think of president trump. china is deciding not to buy anymore. the farmers would say we are going have to suffer for a while because china and these other nations have been ripping us off for years. the president is right, and we are with the president. how great are they? but our strong action paid off, and we'll sign that terrific and

fully enforceable phase one trade deal with china. and we are keeping the tariffs on because we'll use that for another one. we are taking billions. remember what i said? we are not paying for it. china devalued their currency and they put a lot of money into the pot. we are not paying for it. now they are starting to say i guess he was right. and our trade deficit has come substantially down. it was just in the papers today. the trade deficit has come down. as a result of our options, steel mills across joe -- across ohio are roaring back to life. republic steel is reopening the lorraine mill they idled in 2016. charter steel is building a $150 million mill in cuyahoga heights. and $85 million is being

invested at a facility in marion, ohio. the steel industry was dead. now it's vibrant. all told, american steel companies are currently making $13 billion worth of new investments across our nation. they weren't investing 10 cents. the industry was dead. now it's vibrant. we are finally rebuilding our nation. we are finally putting america first. [cheers and applause] but while we are creating jobs and killing terrorists, the washington democrats are wasting america's time with demented hoaxes and crazy witch hunts.

by illegal alien criminals. in ohio an illegal alien went on a crime spree, attempting to relationship a 14-year-old girl, then relationshipping and murdering a 60-year-old woman, then raping a woman who took a shortcut through the park and was walking with her children. and finally the place came and they were able to apprehend this terrible criminal. thanks to democrat policies, ms-13 gang members were allowed to infiltrate the country. i called them animals. and nancy pelosi said they are not animals were they are human beings. her district is one of the most disgusting, dirtiest. it used to be one of the best in the country. now it's a disgrace what happened. drug needles all over the place. the homeless they are not taking care of. tents down major thoroughfares.

what happened to san francisco in particular her district, and she lives in this beautiful house. but they terrorize our citizens including killing their victims with machetes. you know why? because it's more painful than using a gun. federal shorts recently discovered and rounded up more than 20 ms-13 gang members in central ohio. and they will be sent to jail and if they hold them, i don't know that they hold them. they will be sent the hell back home. [cheers and applause] last year alone i.c.e. officers who by the way are heroes. these are brave people. i don't want to do it, you don't want to do it. you could do it over there. most of you -- i have seen it. they have these people, they are

strongly. i'll tell what you the fake news will do. they will take my great plans, it's a great plan we have to consider it strongly. and they will say donald trump is in favor of bernie sanders' green new deal. they can do more with the tape than they can do with a newspaper. they will do that. somewhere you will see it. trump supports his plan. they are sick. republicans will defend middle class taxpayers and the right to keep the doctor of your choice. we'll protect patients with preexisting conditions and we'll protect your preexisting physicians. you will have our physicians. virtually every top democrat also now supports late-term abortion, ripping babies straight from the mother's womb right up until the moment of

the opioid epidemic and it's bad. in 2018 drug overdose deaths inio fell by 22%. not good enough. but 22%. opioid. as we continue rebuilding our military, we have restarted the legendary army tank factory in lima. and we authorized 441 new triker fighting combat vehicles and 452 abrams tanks to be built in the buckeye state. that's a lot of tanks. so wait. i'm proud of this. so they have this army tank in lima. and i said what's going on. they are closing it. i said they are?

they are closing everything. when i came in they wanted to close everything. i was president-elect i think right around that time. i went to lima and went to the factory where they make the trucks and the tanks and armored vehicles. i said you could never close this. you could never reopen it again. they have been doing it for many many decade. i looked at the tanks they are making, the best in the world, the abrams. i said if you close this, we are not -- where are you going to build tanks? it's the primary factory in the whole country. i think it might be the only country. are we going to send to china, please send us 200 tanks. we don't want to send you any tanks because we are going to kick your ass. we have to make our own tanks. so i did something based on my

instinct. instinct sometimes works better than anything else. i said you can't close this plant. i went through that plant. i subsequent two or three hours -- i spent two or three hours talking to the people in there. i love the world of tractors and i know a lot by the. i looked at the carvings and the metal. i looked how perfect it fit. they put it on and it would fit within 1/100 inch. i said you will not be able to do this any place else. we'll be expanding our military. who the hell are going to make our tanks if you close it. anybody from lima? is that a true story? they announced it was set to close. i said you can't close this plant. now look, the numbers i just gave you. we are making almost 500 tanks.

we could have never reopened a place like that and never got those workers. they are really skilled people. if you did it would have cost you billions of dollars to do it and it wouldn't have been as good as you have. that's something i did that i'm proud of. i overrode a lot of talented people who wanted to choice. i recognized israel's true capital and opened the american embassy in jerusalem. we recognized is realliy sovereignty over the -- israel's sovereignty over the golan heights. you have a president standing up for america and standing up for the great people of ohio. at stake in our present battle is the survival of the american
