in the huntington center in toledo, this is his first rally since he ordered the united states military to dispatch soleimani. the rally coming just after the house of representatives voted in favor of a war powers resolution. the resolution is a symbolic act non-binding only. but it was aimed at rebuking the president's order to kill iran's deadliest terrorist who was responsible for the wounding and killing of u.s. troops. three republicans sided with the radical dimms. 8 democrats joined the republicans. at a news conference the president condemned those who refuse to defend soleimani over his decision to put an end to evil. president trump: what bothers

me, when i see a nancy pelosi trying to defend this monster from iran who has you killed so many people. lou: we apologize for those technical problems. the president will address the party much hate tonight i am sure tonight. despite his historic achievements, including the elimination of soleimani, and putting america in the best strategic position it has ever been in the middle east when it comes to dealing with radical islam. the president ready to take up his achievements on trade, the economy and so much more. wall street already giving him another victory to talk about tonight. all three major stock indexes at record highs today. the dow jones industrial surged 212 points. the s & p 500 gained 22, the

nasdaq jumping 74 points. the dow jones industrials just below 29,000. the president realizing his goal of balancing america's trade relationships with much of the world. the commerce department reported that for the first time in three years the u.s. trade deficit has plunged to a new low further demonstrating that the president's economic policies and his tariffs are working precisely as he said they would. i's been right all along. while his critics, detractors and corporate america's lobbyists have been wrong with their claims the president's around rivers would cut into economic growth and weaken our soaring markets. the globalist wall street elites, executives, the radical dimms, rinos, washington

lobbyists alike now must come to terms with the soaring markets, booming economy, and the low unemployment. it's called prosperity. and we'll have to get used to that as the years go on under president trump. house speaker pelosi flailing. she could potentially concede that that stalemate with senate majority leader mitch mcconnell. fox news is told' nancy pelosi to turn over the articles of impeachment to the senate. that could happen as early as tomorrow. pelosi said the country couldn't afford to wait for the president to go to court and have these issues resolved.

during her weekly news conference, pelosi remained absolutely quiet on just when she would take action. >> the articles of impeachment? >> i won't delay them indefinitely. i will send them over when i'm ready. lou: she speaks like an arils to krat, a -- an achris t an even r a queen. senators are calling for nancy pelosi to hurry up. dianne feinstein, richard blumenthal, joe manchin changing their attitude towards the speaker in the delay in turning over those articles of

impeachment. the democrats are in some disarray. dodging the question all together or saying when they had spoken on the public record criticizing the speaker that they were misunderstood. new developments on the downing of the ukrainian airliner that was downed minutes after it lift the airport in tehran. ' are there are ton confident it was shot down by an iranian blah is particular missile. iran is said to have used a russian-made sa-15 missile which is part of the surface-to-air missile system the russians provided iran. one official telling us the incident was a quote tragic

screw-up. my next guest on his vote on what was viewed as a rebuke of the president in was no tooth in this symbolic resolution. joining us tonight, the house minority leader, kevin mccarthy. congressman, good to have you with us. a busy time and extraordinary vote in the house. your reaction on the vote on the resolution to constrain the president's authority to take this country to war if need be. >> this is a non-binding resolution. it's called a concurrent resolution. the times we use concurrent resolutions is when we want to invite a soap box derby to be held on the capitol. here we have a president, president trump, that is on

instinct is use for america first. and the democrats' instinct is to blame america first. this president played this correctly. he made america safer. he made the world safe were, and he sent a clear message. they killed more than 600 americans. what the democrats are doing, to me, is appalling. how do they look in those 600 gold star mothers and tell them what they are doing today. lou: do they not understand -- i have no i will illusions about the democratic party. they have become the party of hate. but surely they won't walk into the 2020 elections having defended the world's largest

sponsor of terrorism. the man they killed is responsible for perhaps a third of our casualties in iraq. and hundreds and hundreds more. they are defending him against the united states government. >> that's exactly right. the thousands of innocent citizens even in his own country know that he bombed those tankers, and bombed the refinery. he killed an american and tried to burn our embassy. here we have a president who i say was very calm in how he dealt with knocking down our drone, trying to make sure it got de-escalated. now we have an administration when it has the red line that holds them accountable. but what's more important to hear, he's making this country safer by doing it. it reminds me a lot of ronald reagan.

could anybody else have had that berlin wall come down? this is a president who understand why iran should never have a nuclear weapon. we have a majority it party in congress who want to investigate him. adam schiff on the intel community spent the last year investigating president when he should have been focused on the middle east. but he only had those hearings. lou: the democrat party has been bereft. their opposition was inexplicable and certainly unproductive. their -- their one surprise, one of the congressmen voting for the resolution was congressman matt gaetz.

what in the world? this is a man who has been defending the president -- i was shocked. were you? >> i am very shocked by it. it does not seem that this would be the vote he would take. this resolution wasn't going to the president's desk. this was surely a -- surely a political precedent. i am shocked by it and i have got to ask him why he did it. lou: it was a vote against your president. i am stunned one of the three would be matt gaetz. here is pelosi thinking she is going to do something bipartisan. when we deal with situations like this. how did republicans act when we killed bin laden? we came together as americans.

general petraeus said this is bigger than killing bin laden. why can't the democrats in congress understand that and give this president the respect and support he need. lou: certainly supporting this president, every republican in my judgment. every democrat should be supporting this president who is acting as an exemplar of any president we would have lead the free world. and he's doing so in ways that's of his detract tores thought never possible, achieving more than most of his supporters thought possible. it's been an extraordinary three years and promises to be an extraordinary another five. >> if this president gets another five years the next century will be the american

the president claiming he was work on a future plot. laura ingraham and mike pompeo asked if soleimani wanted to blow up the embassy. >> it was his forces that attacked the embassy. i don't think there was any doubt that soleimani had intentions to take action against our diplomats and on ther countries and regions around the world as well. lou: joining us tonight is retired army colonel douglas mcgregor to take up what we have witnessed the past several days and the prospects. i want to begin with what we saw, for example. those rockets, those missiles landing at the al-assad base in

western iraq. your thoughts on whether or not the iranians actually had or have the technology to target so closely that they intentionally missed our troops? >> first of all, i think the president does haven't to justify anything he has done. i don't see any reason why he or the secretary of state are bothering to do it. at this point i would hope they talk about disengage our forces from iraq and syria. as long as we are there, we are attempting target. we are a magnet for the wrong kind of attention and hostilities. we made our point. i think we should get out. as far as the precision is concerned, yes. we should be very concerned about the capability that exists in that arsenal of missiles and rockets. the iranians could have fired

500 and they could have devastated the whole region. that's something we don't want to happen and the iranians don't want to push that far. at this point i think we should score a win for the president and start getting out. there is no point in staying there anymore. >> the president campaigned on removing our troops from around the world. he wants them out of there as badly as anybody in this country in my view. i join you and the president in that view as well. but meanwhile, we have forces to protect. it goes to the issue of whether the iranians have shown some sense of rationality and proportionality, and were constrained and purposefully did not hit our troops, or whether they got lucky because they have lousy technology. your thoughts.

>> this was not getting lucky. they fired 15 missiles. they all struck the targets they informed us in advance they would hit. they sent a message to us through the swiss embassy an hour before the attack. in that sense there were no zernts. if they had fired 500 with these large conventional warheads the consequences would have been devastating. we would have found ourselves in a regional war. i think the president made his points with the strikes he launched. it's a good time to call an end to this nonsense. it's not worth the life of one more american soldier. lou: the e extrication cements assured. it's up to the iranians whether they survive our withdrawal.

director and political analyst, ed rollins. let's talk commies meddling in our election. >> the tragedy is we have a process in which so much, much it by volunteers and secretaries of state that where overwhelmed. these machines could be tinkers with and we wouldn't have a clue what was going on. when you are talking about a 70,000 vote margin and probably a similar margin this time. it doesn't take much to shift the elections. lou: and it doesn't take much to understand all of the problems we have had with voting machines in this country. whether it's rampant corruption in chicago. whether it's philadelphia, you name the big city.

something usually is going on that's untoward. why wouldn't both parties be making certain of the electoral integrity of the system or is it because they want to keep whatever reserve they have in place. >> it's a corrupt system, you make a lot of money off of buying those machines. we can't prove the machines are valid. at the end of the day it will be a close election. i think the president hopefully is going to win big. but fit is an issue. you can steal that pretty easily. lou: how do we stop it? >> the president has to make this a high priority. and get in there full bore. lou: judicial watch is doing a lot of work there. millions of registrations that are questionable.

we are going to be taking that up with tom fitton and his organization. >> they have done a superb job. lou: if there is any room for bipartisanship you would think it would be to insure there is no fraud by russians, ukrainians or chinese or anyone else. in this country we have to protect the electoral integrity. >> the good fold paper ballot is the safest thing we can do. lou: and have a paper trail. >> you just have to watch the congress is all. lou: matt gaetz, a republican the president has spoken in support of. gaetz himself as spoken in support of the president. today to go along with a symbolic b.s. rest solution vote against the president? >> it's mind-boggling to me and

it will damage his credibility among conservative allies and people who supported them including us. this is a symbolic vote and every republican needed to be on board. pelosi is running around saying she has bipartisan support with five republicans. this brave and courageous group has not voted a war resolution since world war ii. we'll need to move forward and every republican needs to be behind him. lou: we talk about obama's all but dead legacy under this president. pelosi has no legacy at all now. she had a certain mirth that

thatoo -- -- a certain myth that surround her. but she looks like a hate-filled neurotic i don't know what you would call it. i really don't. >> if your legacy came to getting elected to a second term after being in the minority. she diminished it every day. her pet poodle adam schiff has done a great injustice. if she doesn't think it's important enough to send this thing over tomorrow, the majority leader needs to be praised for this. he's doing what's in the best interest of the country. lou: the republicans are sticking together for this president, despite the democrats. >> and he's making clear to her she has one house she runs and he has one house he runs and it's now his turn.

[♪] lou: joining us tonight former senior state department advisor, cyber-security expert and great american, morgan wright. good to have you with us. i want to take up something we were all advised in the days running up to what we feared would be a significant confrontation between the united states and iran. to expect the number that was reported by a number of outlets, 10,000 cyber attacks per hour

from iran. that apparently did not happen. but the capacity of the iranians to do that. i never thought they could generate something like that in the way of cyber attacks against the world's only super power. how could this be? >> lou, good question. the internet has no concept of distance. we now have cyberspace in addition to sea and land space. iranians say we want to attack banging. they attacked the saudis on their infrastructure. it took over $40 million to replace some of that stuff. my concern was when we took out soleimani, it wasn't that they would launch a bunch of attacks, but they will say look we know

they can take us out. but there have not been the same consequences for attacks in cyberspace. i think at point we'll have to provide a huge deterrent effect similar to taking out soleimani with a digital nuclear bomb take out something that's very sensitive. lou: even the obama administration four, five years ago that would reserve the power and intent to treat any nation state that attacked us in cyber to respond with physical warfare. and what happened to that doctrine, and why has it not been applied? >> i think it's because you have got a change administration. this gets into political stuff and i am not sure i can give you

a good answer on that. they did the, then they crossed a red line, and pretty soon, unless there is actual deterrence, the document is like a restraining order and only as good as the paper it's written on. that's been one of the biggest debates the trump administration came down and said if you do certain things, a cyber attack warrants a kinetic response. there are there are times when bits and bytes. if iran thinks they are boxed into a corner they will say we are going to do something to reestablish our deterrence. lou: i think we have seen a clear picture of their preference of their own survival overtaking irrational actions.

on the other hand, there are a couple of questions i have got. one of them, phase one to be signed in the china trade deal. the important in that critically important is intellectual property and the enforce built of that agreement. will we know, is there a trip wire in all of this that will tell us whether or not the chinese are serious about ending their cyber attacks and ending their theft intellectual property? >> that is one of the hardest questions. at what point does a beard constitute a beard? how do we know they quit stealing intellectual property? i think it has to get back to the u.s. trade representatives to get the statistics to say this is how many billions of dollars was taken. it decreases from here. but it's paper, it's not worth the paper it's written on unless

there are enforcements. what are you doing to stop china. and i don't think enough is being done to stop china. lou: something that's not on paper and is creating great angst. that's our voting machines. three of the companies we rely on for the voting machines have a vast number of components made in china. meddling, the interest nest now is here in our electoral system and it's unregulated. your thoughts on how serious the threat whether it's russia or china or whomever. >> china has a lot of people at the u.s. setting standard for technology and that includes supply chains. so when we talk about how do you trust the lion to guard the

lambs. you don't. we make so many of the components there, there is no clear way to insure the integrity of the digital supply chain. it's not so much they can say every voting machine goes out. but it's the potential for mischief. it's the lack of trust when we talk about banning huawei and tik tok. lou: is this nation capable of protecting itself, its secrets and damn elections? >> i would say no. the internet started here. silicon valley is here. we ceded too many of the building of components and supply chains to other countries. we have to bring it back in house. lou: we'll be right back. jim hanson. we'll be talking about iran and u.s. foreign policy.

>> i think president trump showed why wing is a hashtag he uses a lot. we took a bad situation where the iranians were acting malign across the region, attacking u.s. iraqi bases, killing an american contractor. attacking the u.s. embassy and he turned it into a situation now where iran is backed into a corner. their network of terror operations across the region are in chaos because their kingpin is dead. and they purposely missed our facilities in iraq. lou: he forced the iranians to back down. and he delivered a clear message first and foremost, there will be no nuclear weapon, and he drew a red line, there will be no more aggression toward american interests or attacks on

americans. i thought it was a brilliant stroke and at the same time giving them an offramp from confrontation. all they have to do is become a lawful member of the community of nations. >> let's be honest, he did push them in the correct direction. they had been getting their way for so long, they were used to it. president obama was pushed back. it didn't matter how many lies he had to tell the american people or how much cache was going to stack in the back of a plane. lou: one of the effects and consequences, the way in which the president conducted himself with resolve, constraint, and

with great vision. he now holds in my judgment, and i would like to get your view, the moral high ground. there will be discussions at the united nations. the president doesn't have to explain himself and rationalize his policies and actions. the russians may have to. the chinese are completely irrelevant to all that has transpired so far in the middle east. this president has the high ground, and the democratic party has become a party of hate that has no participation whatsoever in foreign policy. do you agree? >> i think they are participating in foreign policy on the side of our enemies. they took a situation where a u.s. president testified our interests in a lawful constitutional matter after an american has been killed, killed a terrorist, and who were they standing up for? they were standing up for

soleimani and iran. so i think they have shown their true colors and they hate trump more than they love america and that's disgraceful. lou: it's easy to forget it was last month russia, china and iran were participating in the gulf of oman in military customer sizes. now -- military exercises. now the president has invited china and russia and nato nations to help deal with iran. >> when you act like the preeminent super power which we are. people will show respect. everyone knows iran is a malign influence. even the people supporting them. if we are going to do something positive, the more people we can get behind that policy, the more we can pressure the mullahs.
