sit down with vice president pence and discussed the historic trade agreement with china. congratulations to you. and the administration. historic day. the trade agreement between the united states and china absolutely against all odds achieving it over the course of two years of negotiation. your thoughts, your emotions as you participated in the signing ceremony? >> welcome to the white house. it's great to see you. lou: i think this is as the president said, a momentous day. it's the beginning of a new economic relationship with china. over the last 20 years, since we admitted china to the world trade organization. literally one administration after the other, republican and democrat allowed china to essentially have open access to our economy while restricting

access to theirs. by the time we arrived in office, president made it clear era of economic surrender was over. half of our international trade deficit was with china. we saw manufacture hollowed out across this country and president trump stepped forward to take decisive action to use access to this economy, tariffs on this economy to demand china come to the table. in the phase one deal that the president signed today represents a beginning to resolving the issues we had with china for two decades. it would only have been possible because of a strong stand taken by president trump and he continues to take. while there is some tariff relief for china in this deal, we are still imposing tariffs on $250 billion in goods. we have already begun

discussions on a phase 2 deal. the american people can be confident that president trump with the phase 2 deal in hand will continue to stand firm for american jobs and american workers as we continue negotiations for the kind of relationship with china for the long term that will be free and fair and reciprocal trade. lou: the president with the vice premier of china, some 10 feet from him. making it clear the interests of this country will be protected and asserted throughout. also as the president talked about his relationship with president xi, their friendship and obviously a warm and defined relationship between the two leaders that helped move toward this moment. i watched the vice premier today. as i watched him, i had without

any question the sense that he was authentic and sincere as he joined with the president in signing the agreement. your thoughts? >> we think so, too. as ambassador lighthizer said today, throughout the negotiations which had starts and stops along the way. we believe the chinese have dealt with us taken in honorable way. but make no mistake about it. it's been the leadership that president trump brought to this, beginning with that relationship with president xi. in this president the american people have a leader that understands when you are dealing with the wider world it starts with is establishing a relationship. president trump and president xi as that letter that was read today reflected have a good

personal relationship. it doesn't change the fact that president trump is president of the united states, and president xi is the leader of china and they will both advance the interests of their countries. but it's that candor, the relationship that made the phase one deal possible. but i want your viewers to know that we are going to continue to drive forward. there are steps here, big win for agriculture. the vice premier said more than $50 billion. we welcomed it. but the truth is as the vice premier said, they will be opening markets even more than con tell plated in this deal. it's $200 billion in u.s. exports to china over the next two years. that will support american jobs and american workers. in an economy that's already

booming. 7.1 million jobs. unemployment at a 50-year low. it's been a resolve of the fact that president trump has delivered on less taxes, less regulation, unleashing american industry. but also fighting for free and fair and reciprocal trade. even before the end of this week we'll see the united states senate approve the largest trade deal in american i history. the ud the usmca will be headed to the president's desk. it has brought americans back into the work force. wages are rising for the blue collar men and women. the forgotten are forgotten no more. it's all because of president trump doing what he said he would do in 2016.

lou: it should be no surprise that the president backs up -- he told every american what he was going to do, and i talked about prosperity for everyone. and he talked clearly and emphatically that america will be first in our policy interests. it's extraordinary what your administration has done. i believe this president is historic in every sense of the world. at the same time, in this moment of making history across the way, the house of representatives, the democrats, were passing a resolution to move two articles of impeachment against this president. your thoughts as we sit here today. >> after a sham investigation, and a partisan impeachment, that we were told was urgent. there were large national issues at hand that needed to be dealt with quickly.

nancy pelosi sat on her articles of impeachment for a month. and today they cast a vote to forward those articles to the united states senate. what the democrats are doing in congress is a disgrace and a great disservice to the american people. the house democrats had their say, republicans in the senate will soon have their say. but i have to tell you, i heard it again last night in wisconsin. i think the american people are going to have their say in november not only when they re-elect president trump for four more years, but when they vote to re-elect a republican senate and elect a republican house of representatives. i think the american people see this partisan impeachment for what it is. they see the baseless allegations. they can read the transcript. they know the facts of this case. so they see the politics driving

support the iranian's effort to have democracy in their country. but today partisanship is the order of the day for democrats. it used to be partisanship ended at the water's edge. to have democrats being critical -- bernie sanders referred to the president's decision to take out the leading terrorist for the last 20 years in the world as an assassination of a government official. you know, quassem soleimani was not a government official. he was a terrorist. and recognized as much around the world. it was a justifiable target and the president took action and the world and americans are safer as a result. but to have democrats criticize that.

that's their right. it's a free country. but i think it's deeply offensive to millions of americans. if i may say so, particularly to the families of 603 service members who lost their lives between 2005 and 2011. in the iraq war. and we can trace those attacks directly to quassem soleimani and his iranian revolutionary guards support in iraq. i know they were on the president's heart when he made the decision without hesitation. quassem soleimani has been a threat to the united states and our allies in the region for 20 years, since he has again in charge of the iranian revolutionary guard. but the intelligence that was gathered in real-time in the

lou:ien michael flynn is in some kind of trouble, and i have to tell you i can't figure out what the u.s. justice department is doing. flynn is seeking to change his guilty plea on charges of lying to federal investigators. flynn citing the government's bad faith and vindictiveness against him. the move comes after federal prosecutors change their recommendation that flynn be given a lenient sentence to up to 6 months in prison. joining me is his attorney, sidney powell. former prosecutor and author. great to have you with us. this is one of those cases where i have to tell you just reading about all of these motions, what you are discovering leaves me infuriated. this is the trump

he wanted flynn to testify to something he knew because he didn't do it himself, and that isn't true. if that isn't subornation of perjury, i don't though what is. lou: he didn't yield to extortion, so he's going to be sentenced -- if the judge and the prosecutor have their way, to six months in prison. these sounds like crimes. this is not simply process or difference of opinion about the way in which paperwork is filed. these are actually abuses of power by prosecutors. >> threat to suborn perjury. lou: could you put a prosecutor in jail for this? >> if i were a prosecutor i could. lou: can you not turn to the

justice department to say isn't there some basis for ethical conductth this justice department and who the hell do i talk to? >> that will be forthcoming. and we have more evidence including the original 302 does state mr. flynn did not lie. which explains why the original 302 is missing. lou: it sounds as if not only did the prosecutor commit fraud and lie to extort a guilty plea. it sounds like the fbi was an accomplice. >> their system tracks everything. if sobl destroyed it, the audit trail will show that. we haven't been able to get the original 302 or the audit trail. judge you will vanl denied us all brady. lou: does he have the integrity
