below freezing weather all day long for a chance to get into the auditorium where you mention the president will be here in a couple hours. iowa every four years is exciting because of caucus. they make sure the democrats don't have spotlight all to themselves ahead of the caucus. president won iowa in 2016 by 147,000 votes. this is state we continue to watch closely, after the 2018 midterm elections we saw two republican house seats flip to the democrats. we'll see whether or not continues going into the general election in november. campaign says they will put a lot of resources into iowa ahead of the election. >> iowa is our opportunity to organize and energize to give a strong preview what democrats can expect whoever the nominee ends up being come november 2020. we will be out there as the trump-pence campaign full force

today. jackie, lots of issues and crosscurrents hitting your money. the update. reporter: that is true, liz. the markets rebounded at the close of the session. fierce of coronavirus started out in the red and dow finished up 124 points. the virus killed 171 people in china. those there are slightly more than 100 cases outside of china there have not been any deaths in other countries. that is a good sign. the market worries this could pose a threat to the global economy. there could be more volatility to come with all the deadlines. worth to mention, fed chair jerome powell mentioned the coronavirus outbreak and overall uncertainty about the outlook, that word, that uncertainty always keeps the market on edge. earlier stocks sold off. we saw gold higher. investors bought into treasurys, both a safe haven play. yield on 10-year falling when notes are bought. so those yields are falling towards record lows. oil sold off along stocks. it did not rebound.

investors worried about overall demand. earnings season also in full swing with beg tech names reporting all week after the bell. it was amazon reporting a monster quarter. earnings of $6.47 a share. web services revenues beat the estimates. that is amazon's future, that number very, very important. number of items delivered to us, to u.s. customers with prime one-day quadrupled quarter on quarter. that is huge. more people joined prime than ever before. over 150 million global memberships. those of course are paid. amazon is restricting employee travel to china until further notice as the coronavirus is spreading there. finally the eu gave its official approval of brexit. that is the last step in its internal procedures before britain leaves the bloc. liz? liz: any other news? jackie a lot going on. jackie deangelis thanks for the

run-down. let's get back to the president's rally in des moines, iowa, capping what could be a historic week. possible end to impeachment tomorrow or saturday morning. the president is expected to tout tonight his signing into law this week nafta 2.0. key democrats not invited of the no pens or dems there. president announced earlier this week a middle east peace deal. let's bring in treasury department for public affairs monica crowley. >> great to see you, liz. liz: potentially a deal for the history books? >> absolutely. the president when he first announced his candidacy talked about a economic freedom agenda. that is what he ran on. that is what he is implementing as president. it is not a coincidence, it is not a surprise, that the united states is experiencing this kind of economic boom that was essentially four pillars and he has been executing on all four. tax cut, regulatory reform, unleashing the american energy sector and delivering, better,

fairer, more reciprocal trade deals. what we saw with the signing of usmca is astonishing. this is a huge, historic win, liz for american workers, farmers, manufacturers and businesses. liz: monica, you know, bernie sanders side of it, he seems to be the front-runner in a number of states. he is bringing out aoc, michael moore. esteemed respected cook political report warning that the democratic race is in chaos. we may not see a front-runner even after iowa caucus on monday. you may not see a frond runner until the super tuesday. u.s. gd, 2.3% growth. the president wants 3% growth. talk about that. >> yes, absolutely. the president predicted 3% growth which we think is absolutely attainable. over the course of the last year or so the democrats in in congress really dragged their

heels on usmca. if we had that in place we may see higher growth. we had the gm strike. we seen number of issues, boeing with ongoing eschews. the administration is confident that those issues will be resolved in relatively short order if they haven't already. so you need a good partner in congress to rein in government spending. this administration is absolutely committed to doing that as we move forward. given the fact we've seen slow downs in europe, particularly led to slowdowns in china. the global economic picture essentially slowed down of the fact the american economy is so strong it is a huge testament to this president's leadership, his economic freedom agenda and the american worker. liz: this is happening too, you know, even "newsweek," op-ed in "newsweek" economy under trump is great. no incumbent president lost a election with growing economy in
