gain for the nasdaq. china says the effects of the virus will be temporary. a full report on that coming up. now look at this, another giant search for tesla. up 129-point yesterday, it's up another 104 points premarket today. that is stunning. tesla's profitable, expected to deliver a half a million cars this year and production from the german factory next year. elon musk has become the shining star of the electric car business and he is a very wealthy man. 883 premarket. , there is other stunning news. the iowa caucuses. they have imploded in chaos. no result yet. new complex rules in a poor performing app screwed up the reporting process in the absence of hard numbers, some of the candidates declared victory in all of them have left the

they are going to shut the casinos for two weeks. because of the virus. in the gaming stocks go up. that is like shutting down vegas for a couple of weeks. i'll have to get into this because i cannot understand why the stocks are up. my producer saying maybe a two-week shutdown to give you some certainty. it is still quite a gamble to take. let's get to the oil markets. virus fears have hurt the oil -- the price of crude, we have to bounce back for exxon, chevron and conocophillips in the price of oil has bounce back a little bit but not that much. >> we are at 51 box and 15 cents. 2% up. >> very low. >> the market going up 300 odd points, nearly 400 at the opening bell, 40 for the s&p, 143 for nasdaq, that is a rally.

from china definitely helped and i think the coronavirus spread is continuing to grow more slowly, still spreading the people are starting to get the handle is not very acute or serious and it does not spread very quickly. it is not spreading as quickly. those are two really good thing. >> as we walk up to the opening bell we have told you tesla is up in google is going down. look at big tech, the whole market is very much concentrat concentrated. this is premarket as we said, google is going to be down but amazon of 24 bucks premarket. apple is up six, facebook up to, that is a big tech rally. can you show me the ten year treasury yield, that his ways been an indicator and it is up. scott, i take that as an indicator that money is coming out of safe bonds and safe havens and going into the more risky stock market.

>> you are exactly right. it is going to be the case for the year because the interest rates are not going to be real true compensation for stock. that will be something that will help support stocks. i find myself having to check myself every now and again, because they get complaints it with a ten year yield 1.55 or 1.7 whatever it is, that is too low destroying capital. here's what i would like to say, the u.s. economy is doing well compared to everybody else. but we can do better. you cannot have a 3.5% unemployment rate and only see a 2% gdp. and not have wages go up and have these with higher wages. something is wrong, we have a weakened economic system and that's what we need to figure out. were doing better than everybody else and that's why feel so good. >> should the fed cut rates, should they cut rates now? >> are you going to ask me when we have stocks trading at all-time record highs, something

about that does not sit right. no i do not think they should cut rates. >> i want to move on to the price of gold, that has been another safe haven recently that the money is coming out of the safe haven today, we are down $17 on gold. here is a really important market to watch, oil, we are at $50. i don't care that were up 72 cents, we are at $50 a barrel. that is because in china there is much less oil and gas being used because of the virus and the clampdown in china. so demand is slim, supply is still there and the price of $50 a barrel. that is a problem. >> it is a problem but the problem is manifesting in more production. the past week and for the sole month we have been at 13 million rates highest ever and it's still going up.

we are so good at getting this out. that is one of the big reasons we are not hearing why were suppressed. >> i want to go back to tesla. in spite of the fact we have oil at 50 bucks a barrel which in the past would not have been good for a battery powered car. less demand, gases show cheap, that makes us move, tesla even more phenomenal because of the oil prices on the low. >> because the price of gasoline was down 2.7 at the national average. >> a headline the opec is considering much more aggressive production in the face of the very low cost of barrel. >> 227 national average in the national averages 2.46. so despite that announcement just crossing the wires -- >> oil is up 70 cents.

>> that is the bear market where oil sells 20% and also good for the consumer we are paying less at the pump that helps the u.s. economy. >> i thought it would've been bad for tesla. electric car. >> that's a different story. >> we are going to cheer them on because this market is about to open sharply higher big board wh covers the dow 30 stocks, all the sudden it goes almost all green. the dow has open with a gain of 360 -- 270 points, that is 1.3%. going to move quickly because it's a big day. the s&p 500 up over 1%. the nasdaq up 1.3%. about the same as the dow. look at google they have earnings report yesterday afternoon, it did not wow investors, down $22 at $14.61.

look at tesla, all-time high, $868. they are up $87. an 11% gain. it has been a rocketship lately. what do you think about tesla. >> it is really tough to look at it at these levels and say put new money in here. but i will tell you if you would like tesla and you like the long-term story, we are going to get 25% pullback from here in the next six months. wait and buy on the pullback. it will happen. >> i hear scott kennedy do you agree? there will be a 25% pullback really questioning. >> i agree with dr, if you really like tesla instead of buying the stock, go in by a car you lose less money. >> that is interesting because the car depreciates once it's off the lot. but there is a different factor

at play. as you mentioned the school under the short squeeze. there are a lot of positives. they said this week they will easily be 500,000 deliveries this year. >> they said easily have a half million deliveries this year. >> yes record deliveries in the last three months of last year. and for the very first time, the fact that there finally making profit from the factories and panasonic said it's a profitable company in making the battery. >> the actual high and tesla was $887.72. i have to mention microsoft, another all-time high. even though you sold it. overnight. they missed revenue and had less revenue than people expected. what they did great, they broke out youtube and they broke out the cloud services. people were disappointed. somebody had a projection of $25 billion for youtube, that is crazy. that was the most boneheaded analysis i've ever seen. youtube makes more money than apples service. remember facebook makes 21.8 billion, youtube made 15-point to. it is 70% as big as facebook. >> do you believe the selloff now $41 down on google, do you think that is the right way to go. >> i think it's way overdone. >> i would buy into google. >> that is interesting. >> microsoft? >> of course. >> can you show it to me.

beaten down for china exposure in the stocks you see apple, the chip companies that have the china exposure, that's why we are getting the relief from the china problem. >> all the major averages are positive for the year. in other words all the major averages have recovered from the virus scare. we don't know how far this is going to go, we don't know how long it will last. larry kudlow told maria the impact on america will be tled to be much tougher for china but minimal here. i think that has helped the market a little. >> they said maybe half a percentage point on gdp and it will bounce back next quarter and in asia as well as china and the to go 4% that's a consensus among most major economists. it will jog 4% enter gdp. that's our experience with sars in 2002 in 2003.

because they did say they send up 10 million in the first day. speaking of coronavirus, back to the impact of u.s. company, google and alphabet made and noticed it might impact sales with google homes and nest as being protracted. >> on the phone with us now we have tesla analyst gordon johnson, he was on the program sitting next to me a couple of days ago, is tesla there. he calls tesla to coin on wheels. come into the show and you give me 45 seconds on why you are right in the market is wrong. >> since tesla has been a public company and has lost money every single year and has accumulative net loss of nearly 7 billion. in q4 the cordova everybody is excited about excluding sales of credit which is one time and not the core business, just look at

the car business, they lost money in q4. the revenue was up 2% in q4 and that is down year-over-year in q3. we think tesla is about to post a massive loss in q1. their sales in norway, netherlands, spain are down 50% in the first month of q1 versus the first month of q4 because you lost a big incentive in the netherlands and the u.s. sales of model three cars based on our estimate in january are the lowest ever. so their sales are declining. we think what is happening is china is inserting massive amounts of liquidity directly into the stock market, everyone in china is sitting home and buying stocks going up to include tesla, we think this year will be very bad for tesla. >> a short shop and to the point, gordon johnson we want to thank you very much indeed. we have scott shelley that does not buy into this tesla rally.

i don't think you buy into the whopping tesla rally. gordon johnson does not. but tesla is up 113-point at 893. the market is doing this in intelligent people who know about the company are doing that in saying that. you have yourself a conundrum. scott, i want to bring you back in with the last word of the morning on tesla. >> i mean obviously, you have to get out of the way of the fear of missing out just like you're missing out on microsoft. when you talk about the coronavirus altogether and that's why a lot of the stocks are beaten up in the first place. an old trader told me if you make a bet on the world ending, if you are right what do you win? the psychology you have to think about the coronavirus will be gone at some point time will get through it and the market will come back on his feet. that's what investors have to keep in mind about what they
