he has shown no interest in working with this administration or republicans who are eager to seize the opportunity of the trump presidency. and, frankly, i don't know what the difference is between mitt romney and a democrat at this point because he not only voted with them, he undertook their arguments that are fundamentally delegitimizing of the movement that has fueled all of the successes that we have had over these last several years. i want to keep the good times rolling, and i don't think mitt romney is focused on anything other than the self-agrabtizing of -- aggrandizing of mitt romney. lou: yeah. he's lost sight for some time now of who the leader is and who is the follow orer. and he is neither. which i think lends to much of his abhorrent conduct. congressman matt gates, delighted to spend part of this celebratory acquittal day with you x. i guess they're all acquittal days forever more. acquitted forever, i believe, the -- >> a acquitted forever. lou: we will be operating for

7:18 pm
think the american people really, really appreciate that. lou: and trumpian, i thought, was this moment from the speech when the president talked conciliation, of healing and aspiration. if we could roll that for the audience, please. >> no matter the trials we face, no matter the challenges to come, we must go forward together. we must keep america first in our hearts. we must keep freedom alive in our souls. and we must always keep faith in america's destiny. lou: absolute poetry. >> yeah. lou: aspirational. >> very as a prayingsal. and -- aspirational. and, again, the american people appreciate that. they know how great this country is, they appreciate that. and they appreciate a president who understands that and is truly trying, i think -- this idea now that the country is so
7:19 pm
divided, so polarized and the left just relentless attack the on this president. you mentioned earlier, they're not going to stop. chairman nadler's already said they're going to look to subpoena john bolton. they're never going to stop because they started before he was even elected. as you said earlier, they started three and a half years ago, july of 2016 when they opened up the trump-russia investigation and spied on four american citizens associated with the presidential campaign, went to a secret court, took a dossier and lied to the court 17 timings. they did all that because they were so bent on getting after this president x. it's, unfortunately, it's not going to stop. and that is, again, not healthy, this division and polarization is not healthy for our culture and for our country. hopefully, it ends soon. lou: i think it will, and i think it will because of the president. he has shown such strength in all of this, standing against vicious attacks from every corner, to -- the national media
7:20 pm
which persists, obviously. and then to hear the fisa court, you and congressman meadows talking about the lies of the fbi in this and the appointment of chris, the obama appointee to guide reform of the fisa courts, that is madness. and then his rejoinder today saying don't worry about it, the court over which he presides and the chief justice who denied that there was any such thing months ago as a obama judge, he said not to worry because he would be in charge. i am worried, and i know you are. >> yeah. well, look, the reauthorization of this is coming up in a few weeks. we've got to get this right. one of the things i find interesting is that that one of the democrats' witnesses, dr. fiona hill -- subpoenaed witness by adam schiff during the impeachment proceedings -- we asked her did christopher steele get play? was this a russia disinformation campaign, and dr. hill said it
7:21 pm
was. so think about this, the dossier that was taken to the secret court, christopher steele got play talking to russians. they convinced him this was legit, he took it to the fbi. one of two things had to happen, either they all got plaid, or there was such bias, they used it anyway. looks like it might have been the latter. but if it's the former, that's just as bad. we've got to have the right kind of processes and safeguards in place so this doesn't happen again. remember what was said several months back, if they can do this to a president, imagine what they can do to you and i, imagine what they can do to us regular americans. that's a what's really at stake here. lou: congressman jim jordan, again, congratulations to you on all the legal team did for this president and this nation. >> thank you. lou: up next, president trump stands exonerated of all charges. nancy pelosi can't make the same claim, nor can thed radical dems with whom she conspired.
7:22 pm
they will all be held to account. we take it up with the president's personal attorney. he wanted a man cave in our new home. but she wanted to be close to nature. so, we met in the middle. ohhhhh! look who just woke up! you are so cute! but one thing we could both agree on was getting geico to help with homeowners insurance. yeah, it was really easy and we saved a bunch of money. oh, you got it. you are such a smart bear! call geico and see how easy saving on homeowners and condo insurance can be.

lou: border patrol union vice president says none of the 2020 democratic candidates have reached out to discuss the crisis on our southern border. this is only the latest in the radical dems' failures to even discuss, to think about or certainly plan for security at our board. the 2020 dem hopefuls have proposed everything from decriminalizing border crossings to free health care for illegal immigrants. joe biden even called daca recipients more american than americans. the number of central americans forming caravans beginning to dweppeddinging a bit -- dwindle a bit. according to mexican president lopez obrador who says, quote: surely, they are organizing
7:27 pm
other caravans, only each time they have fewer my grants. 5,000 people, mostly from honduras, were return ared home by mexican authorities. the national guard doing that and doing so as lopez obrador put it, respectfully. and mexico is continuing to cooperate with the president's administration to curb illegal immigration. joining us now acting homeland security secretary, chad wolf. mr. secretary, good to see you. and it is a very hopeful sign to hear lopez obrador speaking as he did, acknowledging formation of caravans but with fewer individuals involved and with the return by the mexican national guard and other authorities in mexico to their countries of origin whether it be hondurans, guatemala, wherever. >> absolutely, lou, and thanks for having me on.
7:28 pm
under president trump's leadership, we are seeing more and more cooperation with governments in the region than we ever thought was possible, than anyone thought was possible. we have a a regional security framework now not only with guatemala, honduras and el salvador, but also a lot more cooperation with the government of mexico. so they see what we see which is unmitigated, illegal migration is a threat to security in the ream, and they're taking a number of steps and measures at our backing to address some of the illegal migration if, some of the caravans that you talked about. lou: is it your sense that that cooperation has reached a level where lopez obrador is committed to it, his government is committed to a real working partnership with the united states for years to come? >> i do. i think we have a different attitude now that we see not only in mexico, but again, we saw in the department of homeland security has signed over a dozen agreements, again, well salvador, guatemala and
7:29 pm
honduras. it's not only with central american and the northern frey angle -- triangle countries, but also with mexico. they've deployed to their southern border, so there's a number of steps they're taking, and they're enforcing their border security controls like we've never seen them do that before. and again, that's at the urging of the president. with president trump's leadership on this issue, we really turned a page, and we're seeing cooperation like we've never seen before. lou: and i think perhaps the context is important here. the president of the united states threatened lopez obrador with tariffs if he did not accede to the president's wishes to deal with this crisis. and he also at the same time assured that there would be a fair, balanced, reciprocal trade relationship between our two countries and canada. he has delivered on that as well. and lopez obrador knows he has a partner who means business and who he can also trust.
7:30 pm
>> absolutely. not only are we taking these security measures, but there's other parts of the u.s. government that are continuing to talk about prosperity in the region. they go hand in hand. both the public and the private investment to make sure that that economy, that area, that region of the world is safe and secure which breeds stabilitiment so we're -- stability. so we're addressing it on all fronts from the department of homeland security's perspective, it's a lot on the security and border security agreements, but other parts of the u.s. government and administration are also focusing on the positive perty expect economic security in the region as well. the other countries understand our approach and, like i said, they're buying into our approach, and we're seeing a lot more cooperation out of them. lou: and they're going to see that security and stability is of paramount interest to all countries in the region and the hemisphere, for that matter. to that end, let's talk about the coronavirus, what your department is doing. we've got a -- very quickly, a number of things to cover here.
7:31 pm
your portfolio is vast, as you well know. [laughter] it's actually just breathtaking to see what all you have to contend with. and let's start with the coronavirus and what you are doing now to assure the security at ports of entry -- >> sure. lou: -- in any form. >> so at the department we're taking our lead from the medical professionals at the cdc and secretary azar. so what the department did over the weekend is we signed an order, and that's directing all the flights coming from china as well as individuals who have visited china within the past 14 days to funnel into 31 airports -- 11 airports. that's designed to insure these individuals come into these airports where we have medical professionals that can take a look at them and determine what type of medical care they may or may not need. so that's what the the president is doing. the cdc is certainly facilitating that. we also, through our united
7:32 pm
states coast guard, we're also making sure that those ships coming in from china and other parts of the world that perhaps have chinese or individuals that have visited mainland china in the last 14 days, making sure those are safe and secure as well. and not to mentioning the land ports of entry, the ports of entry from mexico, canada and elsewhere, making sure individuals are also being looked at. so we've got a number of efforts underway both in the air, land and sea environment to make sure. our primary concern is making sure that the american public is safe and secure from this potential virus, and so that's what cdp is doing along with other elements of the department. lou: mr. secretary, let's deal with electoral integrity. claims now as we're approaching about 39, 38 minutes from i caucus closings in iowa. a lot of concern being expressed by judicial watch in particular and its president, tom fitton, that they are looking at voter
7:33 pm
rolls that have more voters than they have, than they have population in some instances. your thoughts about that. >> well, i know the department of justice is certainly taking a look at that. i think from the department's perspective we want to make sure that states and localities that are in charge of elections make sure they have all the resources that they need. and so we're obviously taking a look at that from an election infrastructure perspective, making sure that no systems are tampered with or infiltrated. that continues to be our focus. when we talk about voter rolls and some of the fraud that we see, we'll certainly work with our colleagues over at the department of justice to address those concerns as well. lou: as the secretary just ill straited -- illustrated, his portfolio includes electoral integrity as well, as if he didn't have enough on his plate. mr. secretary, thanks for being with us. >> thank you, lou. appreciate it.t.t.t.t. at fisher investments, we do things differently and other money managers don't understand why.
7:34 pm
because our way works great for us! but not for your clients. that's why we're a fiduciary, obligated to put clients first. so, what do you provide? cookie cutter portfolios? nope. we tailor portfolios to our client's needs. but you do sell investments that earn you high commissions, right? we don't have those. so, what's in it for you? our fees are structured so we do better when our clients do better. at fisher investments we're clearly different.

and i recently had a heart attack. it changed my life. but i'm a survivor. after my heart attack, my doctor prescribed brilinta. it's for people who have been hospitalized for a heart attack. brilinta is taken with a low-dose aspirin. no more than 100 milligrams as it affects how well brilinta works. brilinta helps keep platelets from sticking together and forming a clot. in a clinical study, brilinta worked better than plavix. brilinta reduced the chance of having another heart attack... ...or dying from one. don't stop taking brilinta without talking to your doctor, since stopping it too soon increases your risk of clots in your stent, heart attack, stroke, and even death.
7:37 pm
brilinta may cause bruising or bleeding more easily, or serious, sometimes fatal bleeding. don't take brilinta if you have bleeding, like stomach ulcers, a history of bleeding in the brain, or severe liver problems. slow heart rhythm has been reported. tell your doctor about bleeding new or unexpected shortness of breath any planned surgery, and all medicines you take. if you recently had a heart attack, ask your doctor if brilinta is right for you. my heart is worth brilinta. if you can't afford your medication, astrazeneca may be able to help. lou: here we go. house judiciary committee chairman, former house impeachment manager jerry nadler today not giving up despite his failures, his embarrassment in the specious if efforts to try to overthrow president trump. listen to what nadler wants to do next. >> mr. chairman, just to put a finer point on it, you said it's likely that your committee or some combination of committees
7:38 pm
will subpoena john bolton. that's what you're saying? >> [inaudible] >> has the speaker signed off on it? >> excuse me? >> has the speaker signed off on it? when did this happen? >> i don't know. [laughter] lou: joining us tonight, president trump's personal attorney, rudy giuliani. [laughter] great to have you here. >> nadler looked like he got the heck kicked out of him. lou: well, he did. he and the whole bunch -- >> hospital waiting line. lou: you know, adam schiff kind of retired from -- we couldn't find him anywhere. >> probably trying to find the whistleblower. lou: that's a all worked out so well for him. all right. let's start with, first of all, i want to start with the president's speech last night because it was -- your thoughts about -- >> well, you know, i worked with ronald reagan, so i didn't think i'd ever see better state of the union speeches. remember, we were talking about
7:39 pm
lenny -- lou: right. >> he started the whole thing with bringing people -- lou: 1982. >> i was the last plane out of the airport before that plane went down. so people in my justice department thought i had died on that plane. a lot of people would have preferred -- [laughter] lou: we all have our detractors. >> when he brought lenny up, i had to say hello and congratulate him. you can't find a thing wrong with that speech last night, it was brilliant. it was brilliant. and, of course, he stayed away from the whole impeachment thing. you know he was dying to say something about that, stayed away from it. and he -- okay, the less or partisan than the obama/clinton speeches. lou: i couldn't agree more, and i'm so glad to hear you say that it was better than what reagan -- >> i thought it was better than reagan. i didn't think i would ever say that. lou: several people today said it was the reagan-esque.
7:40 pm
it's a high compliment. the problem is it was better than that. and this president speaking directly to the american people, to the people that -- those people who stayed sitting on their hands throughout once represented. they no longer do. they represent special interest groups, they represent various other groups. but not individual -- >> i have no doubt that ronald reagan thought he did a great job. [laughter] lou: absolutely. well, i know one thing, the president has once again been exonerated. the radical dems have been humiliated -- [laughter] after trying -- >> how many times? how many times does a guy have to -- lou: at some point, and you're the prosecutor and legal scholar. how many times is it required that the radical dems be schooled on american jurisprudence and the -- [inaudible] person being guilty if you're going to go after him? >> as long as we have a corrupt
7:41 pm
media, they can do it forever. lou: yeah, yeah. i think you're right. >> i am more upset about the of our media -- about the condition of our media. the dems are going to lose this. they're going to get rejected by the people. they're not going to last. i mean, all they have is impeachment. nadler was dump founded. he didn't -- dumb founded. he didn't know what to say. lou: no question. >> what are they going to pass? what alternative do they have in the other thing the president did last night was a version of clinton's triangulation. he took away their agenda. the poor if are doing better, the minorities are doing better, the his passengers are doing better -- hispanics, the women are doing better, and he promised he would do this. lou president trump, as a candidate, promised the american people that all americans would participate as he restored prosperity, and he has done it. >> how about this picture? he points out that african-american employment is the highest ever. and the democrats -- that's not
7:42 pm
good because a republican did it. we'd rather have the up employment and not have trump around. lou: do you doubt it for a minute in. >> no. it's because they hate trump so much -- lou: yeah. >> -- and they love their country less. and they love their people less. and somehow -- lou: the national left-wing media has taken that as a rationalization. because the left hates this president who is succeeding by any measure, by any standard, any issue -- >> they have failed. lou: absolutely. >> almost every american city that's been under consistent democratic governance -- and i know this as a former mayor -- is in terrible shape, terrible shape. some are disasters. chicago's the murder capital. los angeles and san francisco, if they don't do something about homelessness, they're going to have the plague. lou: they're disintegrating. they really, truly are. >> the reason we did inside

plumbing was because of the plague. you can't have people living on the streets. what do you think they do on the streets? when i was the mayor of new york city, i got rid of homelessness, and i did it to help the homeless people. yoused to say i'm doing this because if i don't engage, i don't love you. i'm going to let you stay on the street? if my brother was on the street i'd go get him, try to get him to a shelter, to a psychiatrist, a drug person, rehabilitation person. lou: understand there's been a strange suspension of responsibility in california, taking it as one example among several in this country, for enforcing laws. now a sanctuary state, as the president pointed out last night. suspending public health standards and assistance in many cases. >> well, i think, you know, i started a podcast, and i call it common sense because i think we lack common sense. lou: right. >> and i think that this is a

and my side super soft? yes! with the sleep number 360 smart bed, on sale now, you can both adjust your comfort with your sleep number setting. but can it help keep me asleep? absolutely, it intelligently senses your movements and automatically adjusts to keep you both comfortable. and snoring? no problem. ...and done. so, you can really promise better sleep? not promise... prove. and now, during the ultimate sleep number event, save 50% on the sleep number 360 limited edition smart bed.

[laughter] i can't even imagine, and god bless him for even thinking of it. sometimes there's just a reach too far even for prayer. maybe get along with them, but to like them this. >> he's never going to like them the more he gets to know them. [laughter] the reality here is he's now got his party in a war mode. they won, won a big victory, and

they're now going to go try and win in november which i think with his help they can finish. lou: well, it's very simple. if the mitt romneys they throw the hell out of the party, if they end up with all of this nonsense where they've got mike lee wanting to have unanimous consent in the senate instead of votes -- >> right. lou: -- where they're held accountable when they start talking about programs that would create competition for american workers against this president's interests, his electoral interests as well as the interests of the very people he represents, working people, their families. what in the hell is going on? >> well, i think you summed it up very well. i think the reality here, and my favorite senator, senator romney , somehow thinks he's smarter than 195 house republicans, his own party who voted for the president and 53 fellow senators. and what he did, whoever he's talking to upstairs, whoever he's talk to in the mormon

pelosi's making coy little remarks about infrastructure. the dem, do you think the president should just say, you know what? stay over there on capitol hill, don't bother me, i won't bother you, we'll see you after the election. >> that's what he has to do. the reality is there's nothing that nancy pelosi's going to bring to him. he's got mitch mcconnell to help him in the senate. they'll get judges through, and the next 8-9 months are going to be a vicious campaign, and every democrat's going to say nasty things about him, and he's going to tell the truth about them, and we're going to win in november. lou: if the president has any issue that he has to deal with, i would be stunned. when you look at his absolute concrete, specific, verifiable, empirical results of his governance, it's historic, it's inarguable. >> i heard the speaker today say after eight years of obama, president trump just caught the momentum. momentum that they started was trump came in and got rid of all the crappy relations that obama
