the ground. look at at that crowd. reporter: big crowd. easy to forget president trump is actually on the ballot here in new hampshire as well. there is a republican primary in new hampshire tomorrow too. it is a foregone conclusion that president trump is going to win. so the reason he is here tonight, the main reason, he said it himself is really just to troll the democrats, to make a big show of force to all the candidates and their campaigns that they're going to have one heck of a fight when it comes to the general election in the state of new hampshire which hillary clinton won by just .3% in 2016. take a look at the tweet that president trump sent just a few hours ago. he said quote, we'll be in manchester, new hampshire, tonight for a big rally. want to shake up the dems a little bit. they have a really boring deal going on. still waiting for the iowa results. vote were fried. big crowds in manchester. trying to squeeze the democrats saying he wants to shake them up

a bit. as for those big crowds, you can see thousands of people are now inside of this arena waiting to hear president trump. very first person in line to hear president trump speak tonight, they got there yesterday afternoon and they waited overnight in the cold and in the rain. that is the kind of dedication that people have. that is what they're willing to go through to hear president trump speak. so one of the things that president trump is really going to highlight tonight he is likely going to say, look at all of these people that came to hear me speak in new hampshire. he is only, none ever my democratic rivals have been able to draw a crowd of this size in new hampshire. that will be a big focus of tonight's speech. don't forget this is the president's first rally since he was acquitted, since the impeachment trial wrapped up. we saw the big victory lap he took last week. we expect him to take a bigger

victory lap tonight. to talk about the impeachment, acquittal, also likely talk about the very strong economy here in new hampshire and across the country. and then he will also likely talk about what hopes to see over the next few months for the trump campaign which is really a dry run. i spoke with one campaign official who called this a stress test to make sure their ground game is up and running firing on all cylinders here in new hampshire. a good chance to get a bunch of voter data to all the people that have to give the campaign the email and phone number to get into the rally. liz? liz: kristin fisher, thanks, nice to see you. as kristin reported the crashing the democrat's party taking away media spotlight. we have the first poll capping off the president's success. new reuters ipsos poll, 43% support his acquittal. 41% oppose. that is within the margin of

error but enough to claim victory. let's ask republican ken buck. your reaction to the poll result there? >> polls show exactly what i'm hearing on the ground in colorado and from my friends in congress around the country. i think the democrats are having a heck of a time trying to create a narrative against this president. they botched the iowa caucuses. they're having trouble with the host committee in milwaukee. everywhere you turn they lost the impeachment trial in the senate and the president comes through with a just magnificent performance in the state of the union address. so just one thing after another. looks good for the republicans and bad for the democrats. liz: the "gallup poll" show the president's his approval rating went up to his personal best during impeachment at 49%. the mood of the nation 20-year high in america's confidence in the economy. new hampshire is the live free or die state. they hate taxes. politicians have to sign a no tax pledge. bernie wants tax hikes for

people making 30,000 but he is in the lead according to a new quinnipiac and monmouth poll. your take on that? >> he is in the lead among liberal democrats that vote for a primary. he is not in the lead among mainstream americans who recognize the benefits of the tax cuts we have had, the deregulation the president has brought to government. liz: i want to get to this, democrats saying turnout is important big time, given the approval rating with the president but in iowa, bernie sanders his machine did not get a turnout. lower than 2016. lower than 2018. democrats warning that bernie has no crossover appeal. "the hill" say chances are no democratic front-runner going into the convention. odds growing of a democratic convention. the party is split. your reaction? >> a lot of us in the republican party are feeling the burn. what a great contrast between president trump and bernie sanders. a president who has given more and more power to the states.

and more and more power to families to spend their own money as opposed to a socialist. i think absolutely. in iowa it is very difficult for someone like bernie sanders to get traction because those are hard-working americans and they are sick and tired of government taking more and more of their money. liz: the president is now saying democrats like chuck schumer and jerry nadler will lose their re-election bids to their hard left opponent. basically the economy, the president is running on more than seven million jobs since the president was elected. 225,000 jobs in january. a lot of construction jobs there. on and on and. "politico" reporting using economy-based predictors the president is on track for a landslide. that is from "politico." mark zandi of moody's analytics said it is the president's to lose this election. history is on the president's side i think since george washington. 19 incumbent presidents have won re-election versus 10 who lost. they have won during really

strong economies. your reaction? >> that is absolutely right. you look at bush 41, the fact that he lost, it was because of the economy and bill clinton beat him in the economy was the issue. but i absolutely agree the economy is doing so well. people will vote the pocketbook. they see this president can manage an economy. the democrats cannot even manage a caucus. so the contrast between this president and the team he surrounded himself with is going to bring him to victory. liz: you're looking live shots. the president has just landed in manchester-boston airport. that is live picture on the screen right now. "the new york times" put up this story, quote, wages in the united states are doing something extraordinary. they're growing faster at the bottom than at the top. recent growth for workers with low wages outpaced for high wage workers by the widest margin in at least 20 years. i want to get to this. nancy pelosi made this comment. i would like to sew what nancy

♪. liz: staying on the breaking news from earlier today, a federal grand jury indicted four soldiers in the chinese people's liberation army on charges of hacking equifax, the credit reporting agency and stealing personal data from an estimated 145 million people along with highly sensitive trade secrets. u.s. attorney general bill barr, called the hack, quote a deliberate and sweeping intrusion into the private lives of the american people. edward lawrence joins us now from washington. reporter: yeah, liz, those four members were charged, identified with the chinese military this. they believe this was a grievous act. in fact attorney general william barr says this is the largest state-sponsored theft of personal information he has ever seen. the attorney general says in the nine indictments it shows that these four members were part of

the 54th chinese research institute. now sensitive information from as you said 145 million people now rests in the hands of the chinese. >> for years we have witnessed china's voracious appetite for the personal data of americans, including the theft of personnel records from the office of personnel management, the intrusion into marriott hotels and anthem health insurance companies and now the wholesale theft of credit and other information from equifax. reporter: barr says that the doj rarely charges military members from other countries outside of the united states but this breach was grievous enough to warrant these charges. he says that they tried to cover their tracks. in fact, they used, they exploited equifax's online dispute portal. it allows them to control access to the equifax system. they routed their signal through 20 countries and tried to cover their tracks by deleting logs.

on the senate intelligence committee, senator mark warner says credit agencies must be held to a higher standard. >> so my theory, if we don't have some level of civil penalty, they can bake this into the cost of doing business. their stock got hit briefly but it is basically fully recovered. we're a couple years after the fact. they paid no financial penalty. reporter: his argument is, there wasn't enough pain for the company so think could do it again. in fact equifax settled with the ftc. it was announced last summer for $575 million. most of that for credit monitoring. in fact, judge just four weeks ago approved that settlement. now the appeal process starts. so equifax is actually not paid a dime of any fines so far. they are offering though that credit monitoring. the four individuals by the way, they are not known, their whereabouts. they could possibly never be brought to trial. back to you. liz: edward lawrence, thank you for your reporting.

okay, secretary of state mike pompeo warning the nation's governors on the dangers of china. that china is now monitoring all 50 governors and activity in each of the 50 states. >> last year chinese government backed think tank in beijing produced a report, that assessed all 50 of america's governors on their attitudes towards china. they labeled each of you friendly, hard-line, or ambiguous. i will let you decide where you think you belong. someone in china already has. many of you indeed in that report are referenced by name. liz: let's bring in my next guest. fox news military analyst, retired colonel david hunt. great to see you, colonel. your reaction to this story? >> yeah a couple of things. start with the secretary of state who is a prior military man, was director of cia. what does he expect the

governors to do about the information he just said? there is not a state in the union that can defend against the chinese or the russians period. that's a federal response problem. so i don't understand at all this conversation. the reason the russians continuing to screw with us because we didn't do a thing to, have any consequences on russia after the 2016 election. china has been doing this for 25 years with no consequence. i don't mean a go to war consequence or the trade issue. we have an offensive capability in cyber that is second to none. it is not, and we have abilities to hurt people who do what the secretary of state is telling the governors about and we have not. we have chosen not to, partially because we're such an open society but that, that kind of speaks to me was a waste of time, period. the audience could do nothing

about what the secretary of state said. the secretary of state can't do anything much about it. this is the intelligence community and technical assets that have to be put in play. liz: colonel the secretary of state saying quote, competition with china is happening in all 50 states. they say it hits america's national security and under xi xinping china is moving towards more repression, more unfair competition, more oppressive military actions and. the secretary of state called out state-run pension fund saying china is trying to gain advantage over the u.s. at all levels of government, calling out the state pension funds for effectively investing in china's state-backed oppression of its people and against the u.s. watch this. >> it is decided to exploit our freedoms to gain advantage of us over at the federal level, the state level, the local level. in the latest public filing the florida retirement system is invested in a company in turn invested in surveillance gear

that the chinese communist party uses to track more than one million muslim minorities. california's pension fund, second largest in the company is invery vested in a company that invests in company that puts our soldiers, sailors air men and marines at risk. liz: your reaction to that? >> secretary i have state is being disingenuous. the money is made by the military, intelligence community and autocrats that run the government. you can't pick an investment in china that the military, chinese intelligence community is not profiting from. and the secretary of state knows it. again, what is the federal government capability in stopping what is going on and it actually is a great deal -- liz: can pension funds not invest? he is calling out state pension funds, sounds like don't invest in this?

government. your reaction? >> liz, that was deeply dishonest the way bernie sanders described that because what this health care proposal that he has proposed both in the senate and now as a presidential candidate would mean government bureaucrats are making decisions about what type of health care you can purchase and how much it costs. that means there is no private sector competition. that means you get one choice, whether you like it or not. liz: you know, bernie is also trying to rebrand his image as quote, a democrat socialist. he is not a communist he says. but even in democrat socialist countries like sweden and denmark we're saying, we're not what you are selling, bernie. capitalist models that support big welfare systems. in those countries people pay 15% of health costs out-of-pocket. denmark and finland don't have a minimum wage. they have their own labor unions negotiating with worker organizations and companies for what the wages should be. so you know, he, he is

media, they were presented with a idea that president trump may have done something impeachmentable it must be true and it went on and on. we saw the same thing in the mueller investigation. there wasn't the stop, evaluate and report the truth and every angle of it. this is confirmation bias and this is classic. liz: attorney general will take in information from rudy giuliani about the bidens conflicts of interest in ukraine. the attorney general warns the information will be properly vetted. your reaction to that? some in the media say you shouldn't look at this at all. your reaction? >> justice department of course has to look into evidence of potential criminal misconduct. mr. giuliani has a very unique role as the personal advisor, personal attorney to the president. that is very normal for presidents to have. mr. guiliana ney gathers certain information in the course of doing so, needs somebody to look into it. he has to hand it over to the department of justice and they

will take appropriate steps with it. that doesn't mean they will call it credible one way or the other but they need to receive it and evaluate it reasonably and rationally. liz: looking into the biden conflict of interests, information to the treasury department, secret service and more, where does this go? >> well this always has been one of mr. trump's main focuses, even going back to the presidential election, he wanted to stomp out any sort of corruption. he always identified mr. biden a potential connection to corruption. connection of hunter biden to the burisma corporation. there has been air floating out there that is some sort of corrupt entity in connection to the bidens. is that true? that is something that deserves a certain degrief investigation just as any allegation of wrongdoing does. i don't know mr. trump will be successful ultimately gathering that connection but if that is

of entitled actors and actresses who felt they were equipped and qualified to give opinions. if you want working people to have a better life, you better do something about your home state in california. i would have a lot more respect for brad pitt and some of these other actors if they got involved and tried to do something about the government in california that is driving up cost of house, making it harder top afford water, gasoline. making it difficult to do business in the state. these across stores and actresses make a great living. then they sit up on their high horse and talk about people having a tough time of it when right in their backyard californians are leading the nation in poverty and homelessness. i would like to see them do something about that for a change.
