cheryl: the coronavirus continues to spread throughout china and around the world, more than 1 you thousand deaths confirmed -- 1,000 deaths confirmed. let's bring in dr. louise petra. some are saying warmer temperatures could kill the virus. is that possible? >> good morning, cheryl.
2:51 am
yes, warmer temperatures tend to slow down the spreading of a viral infection, that's because people don't stay as much inside spaces. because these respiratory viruses do spread through respiratory droplets. you sneeze and you can share 100,000 droplets. that's why they're so contagious in winter months, we see a surge of cases. cheryl: are you surprised there's more deaths now, this is more of a deadly virus than sars and that it's also 20% more deadly than the flu, which usually that targets young children with weak immune systems and the elderly, this is young people are dying from the coronavirus. >> right. coronavirus is much more aggressive virus than flu. the fatality rate as you said is 20% higher. also, it spreads faster, like one coronavirus case can spread to three people versus flu which
