one of his tweets earlier today. he talked about a lot of things he wanted to ask the governor. he must understand that national security far exceeds politics. new york must stop all of its unnecessary lawsuits and harrassment. start cleaning itself up and lowering taxes, build relationships. don't bring fredo an insult that set off the governor cuomo's brother last year. white house press secretary stephanie grisham says this is all about public safety. they want to be able to vet the people who are in the global entry program. >> i think it is unfortunate they're making this about politics. this is about the security of our country and the american people and nothing else. information sharing is very, very important between states and the federal government specifically dhs and i.c.e. reporter: governor cuomo says this is security. it is about giving federal law enforcement access to new york they think they're goingee who to extort new york into giving

bill barr done his job exceptionally well. part of the interview he gave, to send a message to the president. i got it covered. i will do what is right. i don't need any direction. he has not talked to the president about the stone case. he will not talk to him about the stone case. he doesn't need any comments on twitter. the president should push back against the wild attacks and wild ideas from bernie sanders and others on the left and leave the attorney general job up to barr who will do a fine job. liz: let's get back to your point about bernie sanders. he can't pull off a democrat senate on down ballot. that is what democrats are worried about now. senate never gave him 60 votes for anything according to obama officials. new poll by economist magazine, shows voter confusion, voters chose not sure. a question mark came in third ahead of biden and bloomberg. what does that tell you? >> i think it is a free fall out there for democrats.

the more people realize with elizabeth warren on the verge of dropping out after two bad finishes including one in her neighboring state of new hampshire, bernie sanders will pick up here lane of the far, far, far left progressive socialist communist if you want james carville appropriately said calling bernie sanders a communist. my goodness the guy actually went on his honeymoon to the soviet union. who does that? this is a guy unabashed left-winger far out of touch not just with mainstream america but mainstream democrats and they're right to be scared the seats they lost and a few others teetering on the edge will be lost in the house. they have i think next to no chance winning in states like alabama and even a few other states on the brink if bernie sanders is the nominee. liz: to your point senator joe manchin has never been a socialist. he is not going there. senator doug jones, a democrat questioning bernie's democrat socialist label.

this case. look the war powers act was done essentially to moderate richard nixon during vietnam and it is really focused on preventing the president from exceeding his authority in big wars. a couple of point. first of all, if the situation gets that difficult then the president will join with congress and vice versa to declare war. 9/11 cops to mind. pearl harbor comes to mind. but wars are different today. these are wars in the shadows. the term we used in the military wars in the gray zone where there are many, many different discrete elements. rather than marching to berlin. it deals with diplomacy, with information and intelligence, the use of kinetic force with the military. most importantly as far as iran is concerned the use of economic sanctions. boy if you had to bring congress into making decisions and approving all of these subtle element in the types of wars that we fight in the middle east, it would be a quagmire of our own making, liz. liz: guess how you define war

now, right? unlikely that the congress will pull together to override the president's expected veto. >> right. liz: on this iran war powers action here. how will our allies react and how does iran see this? >> see this is a great question. you've seen interviews done by the mullahs, by the western media over the last couple years and these guys are completely out of touch. they're in a theological sort of bubble where they view the west as completely different than the way it really is. can you imagine what the miscalculation would be if the mullahs suddenly came to the conclusion that congress is now running the war and not the president? that would embolden the mullahs to miscalculate and do something stupid. it would actually raise, rather than lower the prospect after future war, lose. liz: to your point looks like iran is playing the long game here. a senior iranian official. news coming in. he was commander-in-chief of

argument for impeachment did help the president in his re-election and i think it will also help in republicans as they move to try to retake the house. most southernly it will help in the senate as we try to maintain control in the united states senate so we can actually get things done for the people of this country. yeah, i think this backfired on them. i think speaker pelosi knew very well if she did succumb to the demands of the far left it had the possibilities of backfiring. look, the house did a terrible job in trying to put together an impeachment demand. in doing so, i think the senate responded appropriately by sending it back to them, saying you failed miserably making your case. liz: senator, your quick reaction to breaking news before the president saying it is perfectly fine that the attorney general is saying that, you know, the president's tweets make it impossible for him to do his job. the attorney general says he is independent from the white house when it comes to the roger stone sentencing.

senator warren says quote, william barr should be impeached. democrat eric swalwell telling cnn pretty much the same. nancy pelosi tweeting about it. your reaction to all of this? >> the president made the right choice when he chose william barr to be the attorney general. he is an institutionalist. he understands the need for the justice department to cooperate appropriately. at the same time i will not get in the middle of a battle between the president and the attorney general but i do believe the attorney general is the right man for the job and, if the attorney general says that he is having a disagreement right now and president wants to have a battle out in the open, i guess that is the president's choice but in the past all it would take would be a phone call or a discussion between them. they're on the same team. i think that's really important to the american people. look, we want to get back to work here. in south dakota we have lots of things they tell us they want us to do. economy is moving. liz: to your point, gallup is now saying, new "gallup poll"

majority leader mitch mcconnell talked to our friends at special report on fox news about the attorney general's comments on the president. william barr says the president's tweeting makes his job hard to do. here is senator mcconnell. >> i'm not the attorney general but i have confidence in bill barr. i think he is doing a good job and i think he told the president this is not helpful making it difficult to do his job. i think the president ought to listen to him. liz: attorney general will be in front of house judiciary on march 31st. we'll keep you posted of any developments. >> just ahead of nevada's caucus, the largest union, culinary union, a lot of hospitality workers they say the sanders campaign is viciously attacking it. the sanders campaign is sending text messages e-mails, phone calls, posts because this unit is not like, opposed bernie sanders's single-payer plan which would take away their

health coverage for a government plan. they went to strike for their hard fought coverage for decades joel, this labor union said today it will not endorse as of right now any democrat. that is a big blow to democrats. >> this is really a big blow to vice president biden. the former political director for that union has a close relationship with him. former senator harry reid has very close connections with that union and of course is a very close friend of biden as well. this is a big blow to vice president biden. i'm sure all the other candidate were hoping to get that endorsement but this isn't a surprise that senator sanders is not getting the endorsement. back in 2016, when he nearly won nevada he didn't get that endorsement as well. but the bigger story is the really the fact there is so much outrage within a lot of membership about the senator sanders health care for all plan which would take away not just

their health insurance, it would take away all of our private health coverage as well. liz: i want to stay on this. labor unions in nevada are closely tied to former minority leader senator harry reid. he is another powerful political machine. this l organizing power in nevada. more than half are latina women. this is the hispanic turnout machine. it is supposed to be the democrats first test pulling in minority voters. they are the largest immigrant organization this union. bernie gaat beauty trillionly slammed by the las vegas sun and endorsed klobuchar. says sanders insurance trump a second term. your reaction to that. >> back in 2016 senator sanders won nearly half the vote. looks like some of those supporters that were with former vice president biden they might make alternative arrangements
