i guess i'm the cheech law enforcement officer of the country, but i have chosen not to be involved. lou: good night from new york. trish: the fate of one man, a low pressure trump supporter, roger stone, as a federal judge refuses to postpone his sentencing a-mid his lawyers pushing for a new trial. good evening, i'm trish regan. the president made his opinion known. this was and is not right. it was a very, very rough thing that happened to roger stone. when you look at what mapped with comey after a 78-page

horrific report. when you look at what happened with mccabe with a recommendation of prosecution. then you look what happened to general flynn, a highly respected man. his life has been destroyed. you look at roger stone for a tweet and some other things. when you look at what's happening to these people. somebody has to stick up for these people. trish: the president says all of that while separately the attorney general initiates an intervention of his own. yet tonight, more than 1,000 former doj staffers including analysts from cnn and msnbc call for the resignation of attorney general barr, we tonight seek the truth. and for the truth, you need context. roger stone is a man facing up to 50 years in prison. he's a republican political

operative. let's face it. that's enough for some people to send him to jail forever. roger lied to federal investigators during the mueller investigation and pressured one potential witness. not good, you don't lie to federal investigators. i am not making excuses. but i need you to remember these were no ordinary federal investigators and this is not a normal investigation. a team of democrats and even former clinton people made up mueller's prosecutorial team, and they were out for blood. their goal, their goal was to prove that the president of the united states was an asset of russia. an asset of russia. >> do you still believe the president could be a russian asset? >> i think it's possible. >> that seems to be the appearance to me.

>> he betrayed the men and women of the cia, the nsc and others and this is nothing short of treasonous. trish: think about how insane and wild those accusations were. but that is what they were trying to proud of based on opposition research bought and paid for by the hillary clinton campaign. roger stone screwed up. but he screwed up in an investigation that never should have been going on to begin with. >> i think there were people at the highest levels of the intelligence community, potentially even at the national security council and the obama white house that were setting this up. this was a setup from the very beginning by people who didn't

over again against donald trump and his supporters. tomeka hart', the very guy she was supposed to be making a decision on. that's not justice. justice has not been served. roger stone deserves a new trial with a fair jury. if that's even possible these days. remember this. the president of the united states meanwhile, he has the power to either commute or reduce the sentence or pardon all together. and just so we are all aware, this is something that happens quite a bit. obama pardoned 212 individuals and commuted more than,700 sentences. he freed chel she manning for goodness sake. this full-on espionage stuff. obama is like you are free.
8:06 pm
donald trump three years in pardoned 25 people and commute 10 sentences. the president may need to commute roger stone's sentence. he may need to pardon him. but let's hope it doesn't get that far. let's hope upis preslails. let's hope the judge and jury is fair. because fairness is part of what we are and who we are as a country. and that's tonight's intel. joining me, trump 2020 cap pain senior advisor, corey lewandowski. andy mccabe, not even a slap on the wrist. but roger stone could go to jail for a long time. it doesn't seem right. >> it's not right. i'm not a fan of roger stone. he and i will hang out and get a

beer when this is all done. but think of how they treated roger stone compared to andy mccabe. andy mccabe lied under oath while he was the acting director of the fbi. he lied to investigators about leaking information to the media. contrast that with roger stone. an individual who had no passport, had never been a felon, had no access to capital, never owned a firearm. they dragged him out in the middle of the night and recommended he serve 7-9 years of a prison sentence with the penalty being as much 50 years in jail. there seem to be two sets of rules. one if you are a trump supporter and one if you are not. trish: it sounds like there is a chance he may get a new trial.
8:08 pm
the jury in this one was so biased. in the meantime you have the mainstream media goin -- going bonkers. in life it matters. when you stick up for what you think is right and stick up for people who worked hard for you. and roger is saying if i don't do this, who will? he's within his scope, within his well'. he's saying look, you guys have to do the right thing by this man. >> this isn't just about roger stone. this president has a history of standing up for people he believes were wronged. you look at alice johnson. she was serving a life sentence for a non-violent offense. you look at eddie gallagher. this president when he sees a
