see meckler's equal weighted out there. >> ryt it owns every one in the state to check out more check out this week's edition of barron's roundtable see the rest of winners in the survey. weekend. lou: good evening, president trump holding a raucous rally in nevada. the president speaking for 1 hour 45 minutes before 7,000 of his supporters at the las vegas convention center. thousands more watching the event from the outside. the president calling the radical dimms sick and their sorry efforts to undermine his presidency a total failure. president trump: the radical left's attempts to poison our democracy and overturn the last election ended in a big fat

failure. you saw it today. single best day i have ever had in the polls. [cheers and applause] lou: what kinds of day was that? the president hailing his high approvals. the latest real clear politics average has president trump tied with his all-time record high. 49% approval, higher than president obama's approval at the same noinlt his presidency. president trump taking shots at the radical left's latest effort trying to insinuate a russia farce. unnamed sources telling "the washington post" and the "new york times" that the house intel committee of course have been briefed by the dni claiming russia is supporting president trump for reelection. this according to quote people familiar with the matter.
12:02 am
unnamed sources. the very tiresome collusion nonsense being peddled about it none other than adam schiff. president trump: these people are sick. it's pencil neck again. little pencil neck. i just see it again. i was told a week ago. i was told, they are trying to start a rumor. it's disinformation. it's all they are good at. the do-nothing democrats. that putin-wants to make sure i get elected. listen to this. so doesn't he want to see hot democrat is going to be? wouldn't he rather have bernie who hone honeymooned in moscow. these people are crazy.
12:03 am
that's all they think about. they don't think about the country. lou: or anything else. one of the failed results is the sentencing of trump associate roger stone. this case riddled with corruption and political bias on the part of the prosecutors. the obama. appointed judge aimy berman jackson making a mockery of such bias. people sort justice roberts said we. according to the 40-month sentence judge jackson is over four times more on the average sentence on obstruction of just it offenders with little to know criminal history.
12:04 am
the stone case more than a year. more than twice as long as the average federal felony case which would be 7 months. joining us, saul, good to have you here. i was astonished to hear judge jackson make the comment she did talking about a cover-up. it was one political slur after another. your reaction as an attorney, a former prosecutor? >> i don't agree with you, lou. i don't approve -- i don't agree with all of her comments particularly at the end of the sentencing particularly about what stone's motivations were. but if you look at what he ended up sentencing roger stone to is still a substantial down ward
12:05 am
variance. to those of us in the white collar criminal defense industry, you don't get those every day. would i have sentenced him to a little bit less. yes. but i think that her sentence was well within the mainstream of what we see in the white collar system. lou: you are sounding like an aattorney who might have top appear before the judge. 9 months is typical. this is a guy who had to wake up with his wife to scene fbi s.w.a.t. team raiding his house with m-16s in their arms. this is a little much from beginning toned. >> that's a different kre question. lou: they are all related. >> well, i thought the arrest of
12:06 am
him was totally out of hand and i condemned it at the time. the judge of course wasn't responsible for that. i think some of the issues that you have raised are very appropriate to the decision president trump is going to have to make pore may make as to whether or not whether to pardon roger stone. that's exclusively within president trump's control. but the judge has a different function. lou: we are all sphea ware of what a judge does. and we know it's pap bunch of clap trap that's judge rob earth spewed when he said we don't have obama judges, bush judges and clinton judges or strum judges. it's silly. we are seeing as raw as we have
12:07 am
in my reading of of history a clear partisan divide even in the je jew dish -- even in the judiciary. where the the concerns when every one of the folks that we know who are certified to. and you could argue on far more serious matters. >> some of them are being investigated. and some of them have people, to take an example a know a lot of your viewers are interested in. andrew mccabe. there is little question. if anybody is careful about what he says, it's the i.g. michael horowitz of the department of justice. when michael horowitz said you intentionally lied on four
12:08 am
occasion and sent a criminal referral, that's something everybody should take notice of and people should be very concerned he was not charged and should ask questions about it. having been a prosecutor for 12 years, there are all kinds of reasons why cases can go wrong. what i have been able to tell from the mccabe investigation. he had people spinning for him at the grand jury. and he would have been prosecuted in d.c., and d.c. juries are a problem for people who are opposed to president trump and who are friends of president trump. lou: i have watched enough perry mason to know that you can get a change of venue when you have a jury pool that's biased. i would say the margin of 10-1
12:09 am
democrats would qualify. >> i think that's true of a defendant who is making the argument that he or she can't get a fair trial in a particular jurisdiction. unfortunately the district judge, the trial judge has tremendous discretion. lou: we are back do judge jackson. >> i don't know if he asked for a change of venue. lou: why shouldn't he have to. why shouldn't the justice department have the responsibility top make that into consideration. remember no trump judges, no obama judges. why wouldn't she acknowledge what was staring her in the face. and in the case of two of those jurors she knew about it or should have.
12:10 am
>> we exist in an adversary system and your lawyer is supposed to make these arguments. >> i have never heard of a judge on his or her own saying we are going to change the venue. that's up to a defendant to have a lawyer make that claim. lou: do you think he got a lousy deal? >> it depends on what your definition of deal is. lou: i thought you were going to question lousy. you went for deal. >> it depends on what you are looking at. lou: you are parsing too much here. >> you make a good point that we now know the fisa investigation, the crossfire hurricane investigation with the fisa application we know that it was bogus. it was obtained through false
12:11 am
statements in an affidavit to the fisa court than would have been no further investigation and it would have ended much further if those misrepresentations had not been made. that's a consideration the president can take into consideration. lou: i think the judge told us why she is motivated the way she is. and she is not concerned about the motivations of other jurors and would not take it upon herself to stoop so low to represent the interests of the on ther person staring into the muzzles of three loaded prosecutors. sol, as always, good to see you. ' sol wisenburg. president trump said he was considering doug collins for the

and of course congressman collins did as well in the house. but there is a vote and then there is a vote. america's longest war may be nearing an end tonight. general jack keane joins us tonight with more on that. also, how the white house is planning to continue this country's communications dominance or the likes of one huawei. china's entry into the competition. we'll take that and more with the president's top economic advisor, larry kudlow. i'm your 70lb st. bernard puppy,

12:18 am
the summit might take place sometime in early april. you will have the big carriers, at&t, verizon, t-mobile, sprinted. we'll be represented by a japanese carrier paving the pay to spot of ware driven 5g. intel will be there. cisco will be there. qualcomm will be there. there will be no shortage of the american companies. we have smaller american startups. lou: we don't have any come pet dwroors huawei, do we? >> i don't know that yet. lou: be careful now. >> i will be as careful as i
12:19 am
can. but i will tell you deployment of 5g in 50 cities has been a great start. we'll be auctioning off a lot of of satellite spectrum that will get into the rural areas. lou: i should have followed my instincts and i got too far into that. the fact of the matter is, we are running behind china in 5g. if you can get us moving with a conference, god bless you and god speed. i want to turn to the economy. this economy is going gangbusters by any definition. we are seeing considerable concern in the marketplace if we can believe the folks who cover such things because of fears of the coronavirus. is that fear in your judge the
12:20 am
policthe -- misplaced or overdo. >> it's about china. the virus is very well contained in the u.s. the china things a human carian tragedy. people are talking about the up reply cases for our country. it could turn worse. i don't know if the information out of china is correct or not. i would say this. if you look at some of the recent data points, the ism manufacturing reports from new york and michigan, i guess it was, or chicago, there were no supply shortages. lou: this economy is strong as it can be. >> the new york fed was up big. no supply shortages. i don't want to crow.
12:21 am
i am just saying so far with what we know -- lou: we want you growing this economy, are you kidding me? let's turn to something we are not crowing about, a number of pieces of legislation which would be effectively an and necessary city led by thom tillis that would give 2 million people amnesty. we are look at mike lee's 386 in the senate where they want to double the h-1b workers. this looks directly antithetical to what the president said, hire american, buy american. and suddenly we are looking at immigration legislation being moved by the republican
12:22 am
conference in the senate and the house. >> the administration has its own merit-based legal immigration reform plan. i don't know if any legislation would get through. lou: but the point is, you don't want it, right? you are not supporting tonight legislation some elements of the republican party are trying to move in the senate and the house. >> that's correct. we are supporting our own comprehensive immigration plan based on merit. on the issue of available workers, this is a very strong prosperity cycle led by pro-growth policies on low taxes and regulations and energy independence. and better trade deals. lou: fair trade deals.
12:23 am
>> they are going to open markets. let me just suggest the following. the employment population ratio suggests there could be 6 million more american workers who could cop out of the woodwork -- who could come out of the woodwork and into the labor force. there are still americans who would be able to work. the second point i want to make, we are growing faster than anybody thought with the lild and low wage earners. and the stock market boom, it's the consumers below the bottom 50%. they are doing the best better than the people in the so-called top%. so i have got a blue collar boom. a durable prosperity cycle. we surprised people, 6 .7%
12:24 am
unemployment with no inflation. just to rounds this out the congressional budget office using president obama's policies said we would grow only 2%. lou: but people are saying you said you will be at 3%. this nonsense goes on forever. you have got one thing to do and that's to win the november 3 election and you won't do it if you start sponsoring these types of bills you are seeing mike lee and thom tillis trying to pass. >> there could be as many as 6 million american workers who could cop out o, could come oute woodwork.
12:25 am
lou: i want to see the wages stronger before we talk about 6 million workers. we have to talk about that. we have to have a national dialogue. no matter which administration embarks on them, your participation in this administration makes me feel better about the whole thing. >> it's a blue collar boom. lou: it's a boom for everybody. thank you very much. a new nbc news "wall street journal" poll is really quite something. it shows joe biden and bernie sanders gaining similar levels of support among black democratic voters. the only problem is the findings are based on some rather weak support. the poll had a very, very small sample. are you ready for cities in 139
12:26 am
black voters. a margin of error of 8%. nbc news admitted the sample size and the margin of error made it difficult to decide the. but that didn't stop chuck todd running an entire segment on this poll. who knows. and certainly we don't know as a result of the nbc news-"wall street journal" report. what could be the first fragile step in trying to end the 18-year long war in afghanistan. is it possible with the taliban and not the afghan government? he's a systems quarterback. where's the truck? what?
12:27 am
parked it right there. male voice: what did i tell you, boys? tonight we eat like kings! (chuckling) you're a genius, gordon! brake! hit the brake! uh, which one's the brake? (crash, bottles smashing) stop! stop! sto-o-op! (brakes squealing) what's happening? what? there's a half of cheesesteak back there. with geico, the savings keep on going. just like this sequel. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance. raccoon: i got the cheesesteak!
