thanks so much for watching "strange inheritance." and remember -- you can't take it with you. [ applause ] . lou: good evening, as the president and his task force have warned this pandemic is claiming the lives of ever more people, as of now total number of cases worldwide neared 1.5 million people infected. in united states death toll risen to 13,000, more than 4,000 americans infected. and wuhan virus is killed more than 85 thousand people in the world. in the midst of these sobers and difficult losses there has been a shift in projections for future severity of the pandemic in america. america's death toll may be lower than previously modeled.
5:01 am
as you will recall public health authorities in trump administration put possible loss of life in a range between 100,000 and 240,000. just 8 days ago. but of now institute for health metrics and model at university of washington showing a death toll as a result of wuhan virus by fourth of august, to likely reach 60,000 americans. that is still a tragic toll but far better than 100 to 2 240,00. and peak number of deaths to arrive easter sunday, april 12. that number has been revised lower as well. our public health officials say this is not a time for anyone to

5:03 am
lou: when the economy will fully reopen is unclear, we're not likely to have clarity any day soon. but the trump administration continues to do everything they can, supporting american jobs, workers and businesses. at least 400,000 small business loans so far have been sentiment and one administration source telling fox business that irs is targeting early next week to begin depositing money to american's accounts directly. dr. de deborah birx. a antibody test in next 10 to 14 days to know the true numbers of americans who are asymptomatic

5:06 am
bernie sanders' decision now leaves joe biden as only remaining dem candidate, something that president trump called his dream scenario almost two years ago. >> in a tweet, president said thank you to elizabeth warren, if not for her bernie would have won almost every state on super tuesday day. bernie people should come to republican party, trade. mail in today tweeting that republicans should fight hard with the statewide mail in voting. a few comments on positive and

unrelending attacks again the positive. the party of hate is attacking president again. that is right, our historic president repelling and overcoming every challenge, and threat directed at united states radical dimms are idle in support of nation and american people. instead they are busy doing what they do best, running down our country, aligning themselves with america's enemies and viciously assailing president trump, working to subvert his administration, his policies at every opportunity. suddenly we hear from former president barack obama. who criticize the president trump response to wuhan virus pandemic. his remarks were self-serving nonsense to say the least, nothing helpful, nothing inspiring, and obama's rhetoric as hallow as his 8 miserable years in muc oval office.
5:08 am
>> hillary clinton trying to push her own ideological views that are as outdated as she, obama and hillary, the nation increases, hundreds of americans dying of day every day they refo rally america, they sought only their return from irrelevant. they and left wing national media seek only to frustrate the leader who has acomp blue chippeaccomplished morein his 3y than any other, president trump has to contend with arrogant head of world health organization, dr. tedros adhanom. not only a enthusiast of china you but its repressive respond

lou: house intelligence committee chairman adam schiff categories acting director of national intelligence of improperly overhauling the intelligence community schiff in a letter to grinel complained, had been removed. grenell responded slamming schiff for politicizing the intelligence community. writing this in a tweet: his
5:15 am
letter was since to the press before it was sent to me, that should be source for considerable aggravation for the dni, and loeffler and her husband will liquidate their stock portfolio after a backlash for purchase and selling 1. 4 million dollars of stock before the market toppled because of the wuhan virus, which she had been in an intelligence briefi briefing. third party advisers will handle her. and in op-ed today, senator defended herself, saying i never traded on confidential coronavirus confirmation, but to end detraction my family will
5:16 am
divest from individual stocks, her husband also runs the company that owns the new york stock exchange. >> breaking tonight, state of georgia will receive hundreds of thousands of hydorxychloroquine doses to treat patients suffering from wuhan virus. house republican congressman doug collins announced, one of largest generic drugmakers will donate 200,000 doses of hydorxychloroquine to the georgia department of public health. and joining us tonight, is congressman doug collins, ranking member of house judiciary committee, also running for senate in georgia, the senate seat now occupied by senator kelly loeffler. congressman good to have you with us. let me ask you first about that divestiture of part of loeffler and her family, which is sort of
5:17 am
remarkable to me. in to mutual funds and i suppose. >> this week she statedded this an article, looking back she would not have done anything different, but now she does something different. i guess not because it was wrong, but i believe she found out that people of georgia did not believe her. it was showing in poll numbers and many people here who lost everything, look at this saying something is not right. interesting in that article, that op-ed she says she is now targeted, i don't think a lot of people that are dealing with this disease' to think that senator loeffler putting in those who are suffering with the disease, this is a sad turn, but it goes to problem shes had is
5:18 am
trust. lou: your polling we have reported here, shows i think some people might say cynically not surprising advantage for you, but overwhelming one if you your polling is accurate. where are you in this campaign? and what do you think is your principle advantage. >> we're known, we're trusted and tested. they can look at what we've done in congress, and how we dealt with adam schiff, who is at it again, they know we support this president, and we support them, that is why our numbers before this stock issue came up we were winning before then. we're winning now because people know we're the ones that can represent them in state of georgia we put their interest first not our own. lou: well, it is a divide now,
5:19 am
between mitch mcconnell majority leader, and the president of this issue. it is a ugly place for mitch mcconnell to have taken the fortunes of the senate rather than supporting you. supporting loeffler. there is a peculiar atmosphere to her in that seat to begin with. and secondly, to the efforts of this majority leader and the leadership of the senate to keep her in it against the will apparently, of the citizens of georgia. >> it has been interesting. they have taken a ugly tone toward me, interesting they would rather tell people of georgia who to vote for than not, we'll have a campaign that people respond, to and we'll win. this just an ugly episode right now, unfortunately we are talking about this.
5:20 am
she has to i di divest or portfo because it did not look good. anything they can to make this look better, it is not looking better, people of georgia will decide it, they already made their opinion they don't like what they see. lou: two things. quickly. one is tedros adhanom -- dr. tedros adhanom, head of world health organization, you signed on as you well to defund the w.h.o., this say particular way to run world health organization, claiming that somehow the president is the one who has politicized the issue. when it i is it is tedros adhanm saddled up to president xi jinping, communist government of
5:21 am
china, and repressive response to the wuhan virus that now has exploded to a global pandemic. >> it is just very frustrating. think about this, how many of international organizations, they are jealous of america and this president, he has done what he said he would do, he put our interest first. he made sure we would have a strong press cents so others could, those that co elte coddlo terrorists and de dictators. wet markets need to be closed, if they are willing to turn a blind eye on this they don't need our help, they don't like this president, they take on nancy pelosi and adam schiff who don't like this president. lou: congressman great to have you with us, thank you so much
5:22 am
congressman doug collins from great state of georgia. >> we would like to hear your thoughts on this. at lie a programming note, house minority leader kevin mccarthy, bill haggerty and hudson institute michael pillsbury our guests tomorrow, we hope you jonu join us then, d now dr. marc siegel, doctor. it is great to have you with us. a peculiar moment we still have los of life and foun mounting dh toll we're told that modeling is change, we can expect fewer deaths in weeks and months ahead, your reaction to this? >> i don't like to rely on
5:23 am
modeling as it is. a lots of public health officials agree with me, including dr. fauci, models are only as good as numbers you put in. we're talking about an unknown virus, we don't know, you pointed to this before, we don't know how many people have it mild cases or asymptomatic. so that is complete unknown that would decrease the death rate. i think that key issue can we drolcontrol the number of asymptomatic cases, mile cases then -- mild cases then get our hospitals coordinated so they get taken care of in the hospital, that is getting better, some deaths are now from cases that weeks ago, i'm not surprised with this social distancing and public health maneuvering we're decreases number of cases and number of hospitalizations. that is a good sign, we can do
5:24 am
better if we test more people and we who know h who has this. lou: and dr. birx with good news, talking about prospect of antibody test within 10 to 14 days, if it does its job, we have not had good luck so far with testing here, but if this turns out to be as good as advertised it will be a certainly a improvement in understands of what we're contending with. i would think a great reasures an for american people -- assure abfor american people. >> i want to pain a picture for you. if i knew his ain' antibodies or somebody does we could say much less likely, you can reenter society and go back to work, you have been exposed, your symptoms are gone, you get over it we can
5:25 am
prove it with antibody ora -- iu have another antibody, we could say it looks like you still have an active infection let's keep you off to side, sequestered. we instead of a cumbersome test on someone we think it infected, we can test people around them, have you antibodies, you are not getting it again, what a game changer that is, instead of locking down all of society we could select out certain groups who are either sick or gotten over it. imagine a baseball game, all of people who are immune. that would be ou amazing. lou: this would be. trudghuge even forthis country. after this long fight.
5:26 am
most americans right now, have done what president has asked, to follow social distancing. wash their hands, observe the quarantine. and being righteous in their hygiene in all respects. this is just to me a remarkable that we're seeing people come together. when some leaders as i detailed yielde, earlier from the left. you thoughts on how well everyone is responding and insight to how severe is the crisis in new york city particularly right now. >> crises in new york city is pretty bad, more and more patients and hundreds of hundreds, i have know hundreds of patient on ventilator, healthcare workers are coming together, they are courageous
5:27 am
and brave, every night at 7:00, in front of nye, fire department comes there is a cheer, everyone in the apartment in neighborhood clapping for healthcare workers, they are fight a war against the virus, they are winning here. other mone point, that social distancing working that advice is working, people are staying at home more that is having an impact. i also think by the way that possible that the treatments that have been thought go and some doctors including myself are prescribing had an impact, my own father received hydorxychloroquine i believe that helped him survive, he not alone, many people have gotten that drug, other drugs are tested. i think this country is coming together, withi exception of politicians, too much division and criticism this is not a political football that is a virus that you knows no party, people need to come behind our
5:28 am
president and not always be looking for a mistake to undermine or attack, that division interferes with overcoming this virus. lou: as they seem have to worked for this president, this is what could be an opportunity as we deals with media, you watch -- it looks like some of white house press corps are fed questions. questions well beyond their knowledge or comp henc comprehe, talking about inspector general report, identifying her as a him, without understanding context for what they were doing, almost like though they are given talking points by some source opposed to this president because they ar are they are oppositional in every way, as activists they put professional
5:29 am
political activists to shame. they are also unfortunately putting journalists to shame, dr. marc siegel thank you so much. >> one more point. to what you said. president has ear of dr. birx and de dr. fauci they are great scientists, where are press corps pretending to be physician? they are not. the positive is listening to great top physicians. a non-fish fesphysician should e forward with a medical opinion. lou: right, you should not be too surprised. light of heart about it, the fact that these folks are pretending to be physicians, some are also pretending to be journalists, we're getting used to that fraud. doctor thank you so much dr.
5:30 am
marc siegel. >> thank you. lou: president condemning -- thank you doctor. condemning the world health organization for its failure to address wuhan virus. honestly and openly, and president trump is considering cutting u.s. funding to corrupt organization, today head of world health organization issued his response to president. >> if you don't want many more body bags, then you refrain from poll lit sizin politicizing it y short percentag message, fleez e politicizing covid. lou: it was dr. tedros adhanom himself who politicized this wuhan virus by supportings chinese, the communist government and their repression of wuhan.
5:31 am
and supporting the claim that there was no -- nothing contagious about the wuhan virus. to take all this and more up, gordon chang, columnist, author, senior fellow, this is now broken into the open, i personal think this is a healthy thing for president to call out world health organization. >> there are many leaders in world i am sure share the same thoughts as president trump about world health organization. dr. tedros adhanom and china, but they don't say anything, what president trump said yesterday was say out loud what everyone is thinking, that is important w.h.o. helped china spread this disease, china and world health organization have politicized this disease, president trump was calling them out, that was the right thing for the leader to do.
5:32 am
lou: and dr. tedros has been accused of covering up for china. let's look at the put up this full screen on what he has done and world health organization has done under his leadership and response wuhan virus. there it is. he praised china for their transparency. their pranc -- parroted china'ss there was no human-to-human transmission. he warned against use of word china virus, because he said somehow it was stigmatizing to attach china to the virus, that they have transmitted arounds world. and by the way, the world health organization going ahead and exceeding to chinese wishes to
5:33 am
exclude taiwan from the world health organization. the list goes on. do you think that it is appropriate now for the united states to cut off funding? >> i would do, and i would demand that dr. tedros adhanom, his number two, resign, if they don't, i think that would be a good time to defund the w.h.o. because if you look at what the organization has done during the course of this epidemic, on balance, it has spread the disease. they have a lot of fine doctors there but they don't matter, what matmatters is top of the - organization. >> they did that in january 14 tweet, saying this was not human-to-human that lulled a lot of health authorities in world it not taking precautions they
5:34 am
otherwise would have. >> the idea that we would defund the world health organization 4 of 17 other members, at the top director level are chinese supported and sponsored officials, the takeover of the w.h.o. by china seems to be all but complete, the case also in united nations. we'll have to get a lot more aggressive in meeting the challenge on every level and every seemingly dark corner of global society to compete against china. if we didn't have this president, i think we would -- it would all be over. and china would be the victor. >> yeah. of course,. you look at the w.h.o. itself. the first chinese national to
5:35 am
ever helm a multiliteral organization of margaret chance, dr. tedros adhanom's predecessor, we have seen politicalization of the w.h.o. under tedros, dealt with a number of epidemics before coronavirus poorly, this shows you china's malign influence, either they ship up or shape out or we cut off the funding, we can do a lot better with our friends in the world, we could do a lot better by ourselves and trump is right we should not be funding these organization. lou: gordon chang, stay safe, be well. we're awaiting plump and coronaviruawait -- awaitingprese coronavirus task force. also tonight, radical dimms include nancy pelosi, using this
5:36 am
pandemic to try to erode the integrity of our electoral system, we'll be joined next by rnc chair ronna mcdaniel next. life isn't a straight line. and sometimes, you can find yourself heading in a new direction. but when you're with fidelity, a partner who makes sure every step is clear, there's nothing to stop you from moving forward. a partner who makes sure every step is clear, i am totally blind. and non-24 can throw my days and nights out of sync, keeping me from the things i love to do. talk to your doctor, and call 844-214-2424.
5:39 am
5:40 am
>> relief package, are you going to push for guarantees about bee able to vote from home. >> we want resources to be there, no obstacles to that voting to take place. about our democracy our democracy and time where it is a physical challenge to vote, so we want to have more sources for vote by mail, more same day registration, and more states sending ballots to those who are qualified to vote. lou: amazing. to take all this up, the chairman of the republican national committee, chairwoman, ronna mcdaniel. this is quite something now. the president, task force, the administration and government, they are working on a whole of government response to this
5:41 am
pandemic. the radical dimms, great avatar is nancy pelosi fightings american people, fighting the idea, ideals of this country, and attacking this president relentlessly. you had some terrific responses to it. but i can't even, even after watching special counsel the attempt idiotic attempt at impeachment. i would never have believed that radical dimms would have guts in midst of a national emergency to be as partisan as a ra rabid do. >> it has been shameful to see the democrats try and put these election reforms acrosses country during the time of crisis, there is their liberal agenda, they want to take away
5:42 am
safeguards this endure the integrity of election process, everyone american should be paying attention to what they want to do, listen, republican and president we want everyone who is able to vote, to be able to do so, we need safeguards to make sure people who is not be voting don't in california, they went to that state filed a lawsuit, there were 1.5 million more people registered to vote than there were adults in the state. that is the problem with mail in voting, you sent out ballots too people who no longer live in state or pass away. lou: it is extraordinary to me there so little regard seemingly at top of dem criti democratic r the integrity of our electoral process, they are scared of voter i.d., and scared of proper
5:43 am
soupic visiosuper vyingsupervise seems to be one reason that is, as president put it, they want to cheat. >> it is really frightening, why shop we show our i.d. when we vote, we show it to go into federal building and flying everything we did we have to verify who we ar except to vote, democrats say for some reason that against our democracy, and another thing, paid activists going door-to-door, say, give me your ballot, i'll turn it in for you, that is potential for fraud. we need to have faith in our election rally process, that is what republican party is fighting for. lou: to give you an opportunity to get involved in race in
5:44 am
kentucky. if you would like between mitch mcconnell and likely democratic candidate amy mcgrath, he has out raised mcconnell does that concern you? >> i am at walking concerned when we see our candidates out raised, mitch mcconnell a prolific fundraiser, let's just not forget mcgrath in one day flip flopped several times to whether she would support brett kavanaugh on the bench. mcconnell never waiverred, they have an activist fundraising machine for democrat candidates, that is why we launch win rid wit red with the president's help. lou: give you an type to weigh in on georgia. -- an opportunity to weigh in on georgia. national src, step in addition to that with nasty comment
5:45 am
toward congressman collins. in race against loeffler. sides chosen, that does not seem to go well for establishment republicans. what are we doing to see happen here. >> this is he stay neutral in primaries, for a lot of reasons, one, you come out of divisive primaries, it, it easier to reach your hand out to other side, say let's get back together, we have to keep that seat in joe, we wil georgia. we hope whoever get through the primary. we'rthey win that seat, to mainn our majority in senate, we have a three-seat majority in senate. lou: have you had any discussions with mcconnell and leadership in senate.
5:46 am
those comments that i've season against a republican running not the choice of the majority leader. but to attack collins in that personal and nasty way. not once but twice. >> yeah, nrsb has a standing policy they support incumbent, that has been their policy since i've been rncchair. we stay neutral to bring people together at end of race. i -- we need to keep that seat, i am concerned about georgia. and i hope it does not get so negative in that we cannot elect someone that to be our senator in the state. lou: i had to ask, just to see what you would say. >> i know. lou: make you very uncomfortable. always -- we'll keep th the sea. lou: thank you so much ronna mcdaniel, good to see you.
5:47 am
>> thank you, lou. lou: and we just got two minute warning, let's go to the room to see just where we are right now, coronavirus task force is there. awaiting the president. we could wait with them or we could -- well we are. here he comes. talk about timing. >> thank you. here is the president of the united states. states. >> thank you. this is a holy week, religious beliefers across the nation observe passover, good friday and easter, millions of jewish families begin passover attion sun down tonight, an unbroken tradition that traces back to land of everybody jipt. to eg
5:48 am
egypt. and easter is sunday. we have now an extra 2 country that have been attacked as we speak. we'll all win, some point we'll all win, do it. sooner than people think. earlier today, i spoke with 10,000 of america's faith leaders to thank them for raising the spirits of our people during these days. we may be physically apart, we can use this time to pray to reflect and to focus on our personal relationship with god. i also spoke with more than 3,000 mayors, county commissioners and state and tribal leaders to provide update on hurt administration's on going drive to beat the virus, to crush the virus.
5:49 am
that is happening, it happening. i think if you look more quickly than people thought, maybe a lot more quickly, i hope. and it is something that all over the world we're watching but people are watching us. and seeing what we're doing, they are impressed, we're dealing with many countries right now, many, maybe many, wee giving them whatever information we able to glean. i just spoke with the representatives of the u.k. i think that the great prime minister is doing much better today or at least better, but he had a tough bought, he is still going through a tough time, he seems to be doing better, that good. we send our regard to boris and his family and friends, all of people that really love him. he has become very popular,
5:50 am
before this, a popular prime minister, he loves their country, he loves our country. we appreciate everything he has done, hopefully he will be okay. speaking of great people, people that have done a fantastic job, secretary of state mike pompeo with us, i would like to ask mike say a few words, i think to get him to state department, we take questions and then go on with rest of what i'll say, then more questions after that. then, vice president pence will take over. mike pompeo, please. >> thank you, mr. president. under president's leadership my team and i state department are doing our part to protect american people from the virus. personally to get them home. as you know with many shut down their rail lines and buses, their infrastructure system, capacity get out they were trapped. state department swung into action.
