you are watching the fox business network. arizona senator martha mcsally is with us. senator the lawsuits that are taking aim at governors for sending their initial orders unilaterally, you say them break out across the nation, people are getting frustrated. we have small, owners and pastors. what is your reaction to that story? >> well, i just got back from arizona, good to see you. i think they should look to arizona as a model. we did not know much about the virus, president and our governor asked people to planet the curve -- to flatten the curve they did, last weekend, i got my hair cut, i got a pedicure, i went out to dinner this weekend. we have figured out how to savely open up the -- safely open up the economy. we still have to fight the virus and protect the vulnerable.

my friend is a leukemia survivor, she has to stay home while we continue to work on the vaccine, it is not one size fits all, i believe arizonans can make good choices for themselves that is a good model for the rest of the country. elizabeth: we have about two dozen states where cases go down. and 15 states they spike up, president is headed to a ford factory in michigan, it is being prepurposed to make ventilators and other ppe. sense in washington, a lot of republicans are angry with house democrats and their 3 trillion dollar aid package, he said this is where it is hitting a wall there are items in there that did not have to do with creating jobs. >> my fellow republicans in senate tried to see things from the speaker's point of view. but we can't get our heads that

far up our rear ends. and i think any fair minded american would agree, once they re read the bill. elizabeth: it would federalize elections, rewrite immigration laws it has more mentions about marijuana than jobs. and lets federal prisoners go free during the covid-19 outbreak, what do you see? >> well, 1800 pages, there is a lot. it does mention cannabis than jobs, what needed to happen, we note to focus on defeating the disease and the virus, and continuing to invest in vaccines and treatments, and ppe, but also, what will get the economy going again. it needs to be focused on that, we had a great economy before. i visited with a waitress friend with a special needs kid, she needs support to ensure they don't fall into health issues,

there people like that all over the why not work together, we did before, there was some delays to really focus on as americans, getting the economy going again. and incentivizing jobs and fighting the viewer sneus viewe. elizabeth: senator, you say work together again, 14 democrats say we don't like what house democrat bill is event rahm emanuel said stop with resistance. and start working with each other, listen to rahm emanuel here. >> i think on democratic side, messaging we too much about resistance and reopening and reluctance about reopening we should go to a message of rebuilding america, if president wants to talk about reopening we want to talk about rebuilding america. america never lost a challenge, by investing in america and americans that should be the democratic mantra.

♪. the. elizabeth: push back is now on. after three years of trump russia in the media, now democrats in the media are saying, let's dial it back on looking into the origins of the trump russia probe. obama officials who also were accused of unmasking the names of incoming trump officials in the transition including michael flynn, they're also now pushing back hard saying along with the media that this is all right-wing conspiracy. obama officials were merely doing their duty to see who was talking to russians in the trump transition. the problem is, it was perfectly fine for the nsa incoming advisor michael flynn to talk to russians. but here's the thing. what the media and democrats are not talking about what is wrong with the trump russia probe to begin with. leaking names to the media trying toe convict people like -- to convict people like michael flynn and others on the trump team. let's talk to robert ray.

good to have you on, sir. senator schumer this is conspiracy talk. democrats say administration trying to distract from covid-19 when you see this what is your take what is your thinking on that? >> at minimum it is a political scandal. while the news today is attorney general will not open up a criminal investigation targeting former president obama or former vice president biden for obvious reasons unless they're was a compelling reason to do so, it cannot happen in the current environment, which is the appropriate thing unless a personal action by the attorney general but you know, what remains of course, liz, is the fact that there are a number of people present when the criminal investigation was initiated, all the way into highest reaches of the obama white house. what was left unsaid by the attorney general, the investigation proceeds against them. you're talking about clapper and

brennan and susan rice, and sally yates and james comey, a number of people and what i would look for during the course of the during ram investigation is to see just as you have suggested, first, whether people can be held criminally accountable for having leaked to the media the fact that flynn was under investigation, and second, take a look at anybody who filed an affidavit or made a statement under oath to congress about whether or not there is the potential for perjury charges on that basis to the extent that they knowingly did not tell the truth. of course we still have what remains of the fisa abuse process and the u.s. attorney, mr. durham, has responsibility for that as well. that is not to suggest that there is a criminal investigation won't yield results. it may well yield results and it may yield results with regard to holding those accountable who

were present during those meetings in the oval office during the obama administration to initiate an untoward and improper investigation into the next administration by way of lieutenant-general flynn. elizabeth: yes. abuse of power. this is over, umbrella, overarching theme of it. those officials -- >> -- to americans whether or not they can bring felony charges. i would also look for congress, specifically, senator graham, to hold hearings. if there is not going to be a criminal investigation with regard to the former president and the former vice president, there certainly should be hearings to find out you know who said what to whom, and when, under what circumstances. all of which seems largely within congresses purview. elizabeth: you know, last week joe biden denied knowing, he first denied knowing about the flynn investigation. then he admitted knowing about

it. finally he ended the week again denying knowing. but you know, here's the thing, joe biden sure knew what unmasking meant when back in 2005 joe biden said, yes, unmasking is wrong. revealing the identities of individuals in intelligence documents, he saud it is wrong. he called it quote spying, when john bolton got names of 19 americans companies unmatchinged revealed to the intelligence community. watch this. >> there is assertions made by some privately, to members of the senate, and staff members about the senate, that mr. bolton was seeking names of these individuals for purposes of his intramural fights that were going on within the administration, about the direction of american foreign policy. it has been alleged, as i said that mr. bolton has been spying on rivals within the bureaucracy

both inferior, and superior to him. elizabeth: so you see that intramural fights, intramural political fights, joe biden said, and he called it spying. here's the thing, ag barr and ambassadors, also people like mark thyssen of "the washington post" said it is legal, totally legal for incoming official the like michael flynn to talk to foreign diplomats. he is incoming nsa. these send said in his column in watch poe, whoever leaked this michael. er 39 people got his name. they were not intelligence officials. they were political officials at treasury, at the justice department, at nato, at the energy department. when you saw that what was your reaction to the level of individuals getting his name

unmasked? >> my reaction liz, was, this should be bipartisan consensus here. unfortunately i guess we won't have it but we should, look for rand paul to try to do something about this, this is the danger of counterintelligence when people with political motives act in order to damage political rivals, of a political administration of an opposing party. that is what is dangerous about this. they really ought to focus and keep our eye on that ball. that should never have happened. we need to stop it from happening in the future. elizabeth: robert, stay on that for a second because the media is now saying of course it is okay to unmask if you're talking to foreign individuals, people of foreign governments, 18,000 of that unmasking requests happened under the trump administration, 2018. that is not the point. the point is you unmask individual if you're doing it for political reasons. media also is saying this is about russian interference,

debate whether president trump should threaten to pull money from the w.h.o., but reality, when the u.s. started to criticize the w.h.o., demand transparency, a lot of people stood up to demand cover and likewise. that is where we are today. china is very interesting. the china wants the world health organization to investigate itself that would mean a whitewash for china. the dividing line, u.s. and others say look, we want this to be an independent investigation of the w.h.o. elizabeth: yeah. japan is saying do an independent investigation. you know, it is now even russia, russia is now saying yes, probe the origins of the pandemic starting in china. all 27 countries in the eu say do it. canada, japan, indonesia, new zealand say probe. why democrats silence on it? they say talking about this is just a distraction? >> obviously not a distraction.

great powers, russia, china, they're vying for influence as international organization and trying to use them not to get their views of international norms, but push international norms aside so essentially they can achieve the policies that they want. we have a bold demonstration of this in the w.h.o., the china essential using the organization to advance china's interests. there were international health regulations that were passed after china failed to meet its obligation during the sars pandemic. if china had followed those guidelines for this, countries would have had weeks, maybe months warning but they violated it because it wasn't, china didn't perceive it in their interest. so the big dividing line here is between countries that want, yeah. to want to have china investigate it and then some just want the wto investigate it. elizabeth: w.h.o. >> yeah, right. >> here is the push behind the
