clinton stop them? continuing to downplay the riots. jerry nadler saying the violence is a "myth." biden calling the protests "peaceful." alld of this as democrats continue to blast the president for trying to stop the destruction. there is nothing peaceful about officers being assaulted with commercial grade fireworks and lasers that blind them and buildings being set on fire with people inside of those buildings are cop cars being burned. also tonight, you would think the russia probe was based on high-level russia officials with connections to russia intelligence. the way media and democrats talked about the story for three years. it turns out that is not the case. senator lindsey graham says the fbi was pretty lame.

washington. more headlights coming out. rich edson has more. >> the president has just touched down here at the white house. he was at a biotech company int north carolina. he spent the afternoon at the biotech innovation center. he also announced $265 million contract for the company to expand its vaccine manufacturing capacity at a facility in texas. the president says if ongoing vaccine trials are successful, local governments can further open up their economies. >> just one of those events happened you will go right back into that. i really do believe a lot of the governors should be opening up states that are not opening with. we will see what happens with them. a lot we will have to have a therapeutic message and have great answers.

>> building a coronavirus vaccine. in conjunction with the national hinstitute of launched a seriesm of massive trials on an experimental vaccine. scientists will test about 30,000 volunteers split into two groups. one gets a vaccine and the other get salt water. then they will check if the group injected came down with the virus and if so the severity of the symptoms. >> we will not cut corners in order to validate a vaccine. we have gone at significant speeds. our job and solemn promise is that based on the data regarding safety and emphasis of a vaccine. >> covid-19 surging across the states. than 4.3 million covid cases of coronavirus cases have been confirmed. one of those confirmed as a national security advisor.

1 least 18 people now shot dead in writing. let's welcome shelby. shelby is a daily journalist that has been reporting on the ground for the frontlines of these riots. it is great to see you again. you are at the right this weekend. tell us what you saw. >> yeah, liz. you know, a ton of unrest. we typically see huge crowds earlier in the night starting around nine and it is fairly peaceful at that time. as the night goes on, 10:30, 11:00 o'clock, there is a huge group of protesters or rioters who turn their focus on to the courthouse. they have been told, there are warnings given by federal officers, don't touch the fence, don't try to break through, time and time again, night after night, they are trying to breach the fence. it starts a war every night on the streets in downtown portland liz: were the riots going down?

where they de-escalating until the administration set in federal forces? violence in portland is a "myth" what are your thoughts on both of those issues? >> we were not here before federal officers were deployed. certainly from people we have spoken to, these protests have been m ongoing and have not shon a major sign of slowing down. the courthouse was littered and graffiti. there are things on the street from fireworks being set and fires going off. saying that it is a myth and the violence here in portland is just a d.c. lie, essentially, and, you know, the videos we have taken all week kind of speak for themselves.

clearly not the case, i think. >> what do the rioters want. do they want defined the police, income inequality stalled? i think you heard them chanting a certain chance. can you tell us what they want and what will make them stop? >> oned of the chance that stod out to me the most was they were saying they will not stop until all the precincts are burned to the ground. this is an extreme attitude. they want the federal officers out, but, who knows, if the federal officers leave, will they leave the courthouse alone? they are angry at the federal officers, they are angry at the police officers. i think they just want all of this defunded. they want officers out of portland. night after night, we are seeing there is no slowing down.

>> no slowing down. polls show many americans welcome racial and ethnic diversity and believe that their communities should be diverse. people support peaceful protests we are, shall be, in an unprecedented historic moment, a pandemic. a fight over police brutality. from where you sit, it seems like it has morphed away from that and changed into something else. rioters now shooting people. talk to us about portland police finding a bag of rifle ammunition and molotov cocktails after responding to a disturbance in a park. >> we have much more information besides their statement. we found numerous blitz and molotov cocktails in a bag near the courthouse. theree has been a stabbing of a

trump supporter the other night. shots fired in another incident. it is clearly escalating. your earlier point about the unrest sort of branching off from the original reason these protests started is really accurate. we have seen it time and time again. seattle, washington, d.c., new york city. definitely different groups taking advantage of why these protests first started. >> to uc police police taking restraint? a hands-off approach, but then they have to respond when attacked? in seattle they torched buildings.nd rioters vandalized cop vehicles. los angeles, protesters attacked police officers. do you see officers showing restraint? we have been on

the ground, officers have issued multiple warnings before coming out and deploying ammunition. we will hear over the loudspeaker, the first warning is typically do not touch the fence, don't try to breach the perimeter, the second morning is typically this has been declared an unlawfull assembly. leave the area immediately. no one typically listens and then when the officers are forced to come out, and during the time these warnings are issued, it is a result of fireworks being thrown at the courthouse, fires being set insidet the fence, they throw bags over the fence and light it on fire. all sorts of things are being tossed. they continue when officers come out to disperse the crowd. >> yeah. now we have police officers releasing their body camera footage. we just showed it in seattle. to show you what they are dealingh. with.

now the process of cutting it police budget in half. nhe police chief their morning businesses, you are on your own. the city council has hamstrung us and how we can respond to this writing. we toldte the viewers about rioters across the country. rioters showed up at the home of chad wolf. are you hearing about that as well? this has morphed into something else. now they are showing up at their personal homes to basically protest. what is your reaction? >> i had heard reports of that. numerous officers have been docked and their information made public. these officers, from what i have seen, are just trying to do their job. we sell when it was declared a

senator lindsey graham says the fbi sourcing to spy on the trump team was pretty lame. it was a steel dossier. a lot of it was driven by that. bad to worse. senator graham told maria that not only lying to the fisa court but theou fbi also lied to congress about the information it was using to justify spying on the trump team. great to see you, congressman again. your thoughts on this? >> somebody in the fbi testified behind closed doors. i imagine that will be made public this week. they should absolutely be held accountable if they bite to the committee and to congress. you have seen a number of different people prosecuted for similar charges. look at roger stone. look at the different individuals involved in this molar investigation.

if he had somebody in the fbi that testified falsely before acongress, they should be held accountable. >> about john durham and his criminal probe. finding that fbi officials perjure themselves. they told the fisa court that to get wiretaps to target carter page, trump advisor there, they convinced the fisa court that thech sourcing for christopher steel was "a russian base source when hee was not." he was living here in the u.s. he was on steels payroll. christopher steel cannot be trusted. thirdhand rumor and gossip. let's watch senator graham on how bad the information was that thehe fbi used. >> when the fbi understood that it was no longer reliable, they continued to use it. not only did the fbi vied to the court about the reliability, also lied to the congress.

perspective. what did you think when you heard the coach say that? >> i absolutely agree. you do not protest against the flag or against your country. : kaepernick protesting for quite a while. football players and athletes pickup from that. here is the real question. after all the protest, what have you asked for? what are you seeking? we talk about the march on washington back in 1963, i believe it was. you had these thousands of folks, 200, 300,000 people in they heard mlk speak. he spoke about injustices. from that one march, what did we see? the 1964 civil rights act. they had a list of demands that they wanted to see accomplished. they protest peacefully.

what we have seen now in the streets of chicago, portland and a lot of these other places and in some cases, peaceful protests. in others, we have not seen that. we have seen destruction of property and people marginalized. now, this is a point where everyone is listening. now, what are you asking for? we have seen some of the things that senator tim scott has done. that begs the question, what is really going on here? is this about george floyd? >> usa today ran a piece saying athletes are not protesting against the flag or the anthem, they are using it as a platform to bring attention to social injustice. the critics say minorities and people of color died for that flag. soldiers die for that flag. it is about what is sacred. joe namath, football legend, the

sporting field is sacred, too. keep it what it is. a place for competition. football players like tim tebow attacked for kneeling in prayer at the football field? >> yes. that reminds you of something. in other words, coming up with a narrative that he believed would fit. that has not been the true narrative. if you want to highlight racial injustices, i think that is fine. that is absolutely fine. if you do not have and ask, why are you doing it? more importantly, we in this era , everything is political. you cannot say good morning without it being political. you cannot post something on social media without it being political. i posted on my instagram saying if you support the looters and the rioters, unfollow me now.

liz: a separate story we just showed. religious statues and institutions. catholic churches reporting more than half a dozen attacks including statues of jesus and the virgin mary. what do you say to that story? >> an attack on faith for decades now. this is what it has come to. when elected officials say it is fine. nancy pelosi. people doing what they want. there is no law and order. people will take down any statue. i am personally a christian. jesus christ is my lord and savior. it is not the memory of george floyd. this has gone way beyond that. it is destruction of property. let me take over because you want to defund the police and the state of new york or city of new york, if you will.

sending ballots that may or may not have an eligible voter there. that is fraud. democrats like jimmy carter in the past raised that concern. exactly why the trump campaign has the right to push back against this. easy to vote, but hard to cheat. >> the republican national committee has about $20 million to close democratic backed igefforts to ease restrictions. the campaign has assembled 600 attorneys. thoughba voting rules and keep battleground states are now in court fights happening right now. that could influence the outcome of the presidential race. >> we need to deal with this. new york state has a primary still up in the air even though it is a month after the election. you saw in new jersey where the governor offered 100 by ballot. even the naacp raised concern in

that citye, council special election. there is a big difference. democrats trying to confuse people. making them think it is like absentee ballots. it is not. what democrats are doing in california and want to do across the country as mailto every address thatt may have an eligible voter. maybe six months, six years ago. >> i hear what you are saying. i mean, five states have mail in voting. they have very strict oversight of it. absentee ballots have strict oversight. to your point, this is something different that is sort of flooding the zone with mail and ballads even if the voter is not on the other end of it. a lot b of hands touched those mail in ballots before it gets to thehe account. your reaction?

>> you still see stories all around the country. even a post officer saying he played around with the ballot. think about your own home or particularly if you live in an apartment building, all of the circular things, all the newspapers, all the flyers, imagine if it is just flooded with ballots s that are sent jut because there may have been and an eligible voter that address. that is a huge problem. we need to guarantee every single vote. you should make it easy to vote, but difficult to cheat. liz: separate case. sunday. val deming's of florida, mentioned as the deep contender for joe t biden. president trump is willing to cheat to win. she saidor that included foreign powers interfering in the election. the president doing everything he can to instill fear to divide
