elizabeth: okay. let's stay on this for a second. joe biden wants to raise taxes by $4 trillion. that is putting four trillion in the hands of the u.s. government. many people are saying wait a second, the u.s. government is already big. it has socialist features to it. all the things joe biden, kamala harris wants you will need a more powerful irs to pay for what they want. your reaction? >> tim scott is a tremendous spokesman for our cause. i'm so glad he was on last night. we need to protect the american people from that big overreaching government that he was talking about. and we, what president trump wants is a smaller, more efficient government. that is what he is working towards. that is why he fights the deep state actors all the time. people who are if there for generations, in there for 20, 30, 40 years, not minding the policy of the administration but their own. government gets too big, too powerful. look the american people are getting a taste of that with

these mask mandates, with the shutting down of their businesses and schools. they're picking, the government is picking winners and losers. walmart and target and kmart get to stay open because the government deems it so but small businessman and women across the country have their businesses closed. it is, it is upside down and the american people are getting a full taste of what a socialist government can do. i think they will reject it. that is why president trump will get reelected in november. elizabeth: the debate also is, joe biden has been around since the nixon administration before around the time of the pacer. is the guy who can fix government since he has been around when congress was only enjoying 10 or 15% approval rating? he wants to put 4 trillion of new taxes on the u.s. economy but he says he will shut doesn't u.s. economy due to covid-19 if he gets into office. i want to get to this.

what was your reaction, david bossie, i want to hear your reaction to cnn's chris cuomo saying cnn does not fact check democrats. watch this. >> yeah, you can fact check it to death. we can fact check the convention. people say you didn't fact check the democrats. they are not lying the way trump does. elizabeth: okay, but don't fact check the policy claims? your reaction to that? >> it is just cnn and msdnc. that is what they have been doing for four years. they hold this president, they dislike the president, they show it, we're not surprised by it but we'll put on our show this week to show the american people who the republican party is and who president donald trump is and what he is going to do for the next four years. elizabeth: okay. here's the thing. andrew pollak, his daughter, meadow, was shot dead in the marjory stoneman douglas shooting. he is doing what cnn is not doing.

he is fact-checking joe biden. mr. biden fact checked joe bidens false claim that he met with parkland during vice presidency. that shooting took place after biden left office. >> how hard to tell how much mr. biden understands what happened at parkland. he said he was vice president when it happened but he wasn't. mr. biden may not know when my daughter was murdered but i do. february 14th, 2018. mr. biden may not know that piece policies make shootings more likely but i do. mr. biden may not know that who was vice president that day but i do. it wasn't joe biden. it was mike pence. thank god. i learned that gun control laws didn't fail my daughter, people did. the school didn't just miss these red flags, they ignored them. elizabeth: okay. here is the thing, david bossie. when people are watching the

republican convention and then they watch the coverage of the democrat convention, they're watching the media coverage, people right now want serious policy debates. is that being served to them by msnbc and cnn? >> well clearly it's not and mr. pollak's words are so important because if you look at the connection, what the democrats want to do when they are trying to defund the police departments and not supporting, joe biden has not stood up one time to say, he supports the women and men in blue. that he will, have their backs like president trump has. mr. pollack understands that destroying police departments impacts our children and children in schools. when we send our kids to school, we want them to be safe and that is what mr. pollac is talking about. these policies are out of touch but the connection between destroying police departments and defunding these police

let's welcome the man at the center of the trump russia controversy, carter page, a former u.s. navy lieutenant, a graduate of annapolis. served as foreign policy advisor to donald trump author of a new book out today, abuse of power, how an innocent american was framed in an attempted coup against the president. we welcome carter page to the show. thanks, so much, carter, for joining us. what are your thought on what hillary clinton said? >> great to be with you. it is a complete detachment from reality. we've been hearing a lot of this same message from the very beginning. there were stories right after the president trump was elected in november of 2016, immediately, that the clinton campaign and other operatives from the democratic party were planning this push against him. so it is really just a continuation of exactly what we've seen with one false story after another unfortunately.

elizabeth: you know, carter, the obama administration spied on you for 11 months. you were never charged with any crime. you have had death threats, the public hounding you. your life and business ruined. can you talk to us about that? >> yeah. you know, unfortunately, i mean, it was a really terrible cast of characters. you know the obama-biden administration, they coordinated, or they had this operation with the democrats national committee and their various operatives led by fusion gps and christopher steele. so this all started way back early in 2016. continued escalating throughout, throughout the presidential campaign through president trump's transition period and throughout the early years of his administration and unfortunately, it was all, as we now know entirely based on

complete made-up lies. it is just, an unfortunate -- the other aspect is, the u.s. intelligence community, you know, when the, democratic national committee's various operatives were working on this. unfortunately they were feeding it to the fbi, and other elements of the u.s. intelligence community as well as the doj, which led as you were alluding to the fisa warrants against myself as a way of spying on president trump's campaign transition and into his new administration. elizabeth: okay. so let's pull this together. the hillary clinton campaign and the dnc funded the steele dossier with anti-trump opposition research. it was proved to be debunked and discredited. that was going to be used for hillary clinton to contest the 2016 election if she lost, but somehow made its way to the fbi. government documents show that in august 2016, the cia told

james comey trump russia team you were a trusted source for the cia for years on china, the middle east and russia but then kevin clinesmith covers that up, doctors it to get wiretaps on you. did you ever tell anyone at the fbi that you were a trusted cia source and what were the dates that you told them that? >> i sent a letter to then director james comey on sunday, september 25th, 2016. just about six, seven weeks before the 2016 election, informing him just how all of these dossier lies, which the democrats were pushing to the media, just made no sense what so ever, at the risk of stating the obvious. unfortunately -- i offered to speak with the fbi who i worked

hi okay, okcaayrtokayokay let's l b the fbi under the obama administration, their abuse of the powerful fisa court. it is meant to go after terrorists. talk to us about the fisa wiretaps used on you by the fbi. it is two hop coverage. they not only got your electronic records but got trump's electronic records as well while he was candidate and first eight months of the white house, did that happen? >> i tried to be very respectful of the privacy of others. unfortunately after everything that happened to me personally, all i can say some of the people speaking at rnc convention this week are individuals whose emails were hacked and potentially even some of the conversations we had were wiretapped. so it really is just absolutely terrible, the extent of this.

not just my privacy and myself rights but the civil rights of so many other innocent americans. elizabeth: did the fbi spy on president trump through the fisa wiretaps and candidate trump? fisa wiretaps on you, did they go through trump that way? >> absolutely. this goes to the big controversy. back in march of 2017 there were, president trump accurately tweeted that they were wiretapping trump tower. i had my office building is right next door to trump tower and i was always going through there. so by definition it is absolutely what happened. not to mention the fact that so many people associated with him, including senior members of the trump administration who i had phone calls with, email communication with, all our communications were illegally surveiled, both hacking an and

wiretapping. >> i want to move on to this. talk to us about the grand jury probe run by mueller, specs counsel probe into you. how is it possible, jeanie re, a democratic campaign donor who represented hillary clinton in the email scandal and clinton foundation, contributed cash to democrat organizations which funded the steele dossier, anti-trump dossier, how is it jeanie rea ended up interrogating you at the grand jury? >> worst thing bit, liz, earlier that year, there was this big controversy about then attorney general jeff sessions recusing himself. this is a guy who had practically very little interaction with president trump as a candidate. meanwhile, and also in the same department of justice, meanwhile you have this person, you know,

really putting me through the ringer along with two other democrat donors by the way and unfortunately there is no recusal, no conflict of interests seen there. so it is just consistent with everything we've seen throughout this entire sham proceedings from the very beginning. two systems of justice. one for trump supporters and the other for the washington establishment and other people. just totally crazy. elizabeth: well you're, if you were basically terrorized and you were not accused of any crime whatsoever. talk to us about former fbi director james comey. he is now claiming in a new washington post-op ed, quote, if trump style justice becomes our tradition nobody is safe. basically all americans are at risk. people who in power will be coming after you, all of us. that is what comey is saying that about trump but senator grassley says, wait a second, it is comey and the fbi and obama administration officials who

went after regular americans and is threatening american civil liberties. your reaction to that? >> well, mr. comey is the world record holder for fisa abuse. of the terrible warrants, he signed maximum of them, three. one before the election, one during the transition period and one just before he rightfully was fired. unfortunately to your point on terror, i actually told mr. clinesmith, one of his lawyers in the fbi at the time about all the terror threats i was getting. not only did he do apparently nothing about it, because i continued to get threatening calls for over half a year longer, but unfortunately you know, as you were just alluding to, in terms of some of these bad acts, it was just a couple months later we ended up having this terrible escalation of the fisa abuse with the final fisa

warrant that rod rosenstein signed in june of 2017 and false pleadings which were included in there by mr. clinesmith along with all the other falsehoods that filled that 100 page document. elizabeth: carter, we're so sorry what happened to you. final question, we have a quick 10 seconds i hate to follow up like this, who exactly was calling you on the phone and terrorizing you? >> well, there were a range of people but i had a lot of, i actually have a, have been based in oklahoma for a long time, a number of terrorizing calls from that numbers in oklahoma and unfortunately i told the fbi about it. i begged them for their help. they did absolutely nothing. then the abuses continued for over half a year later. elizabeth: carter, i wish we had more time. we're so sorry ran out of time with you. will you come back on the show? we would love to talk to you

wisconsin. the national guard called in on violent rioting after video appeared to show police shooting a plaquemines in the back multiple times. that man reportedly in stable condition. he is still in intensive care. local residents say officials are not stopping rioters attacking burning down local businesses in low income areas like furniture stores and car dealership. people in city of kenosha burned out of their homes according to local reports. a apartment building was set on fire there. welcome back to the show, acting deputy director of homeland security, ken cuccinelli. your thoughts. is this a way to reform the system? african-americans don't feel safe. express outrage over deaths of brianna taylor, george floyd, eric garner, but do have to set fire to an american to show your protest matters? >> of course not. it's a criminal act unto itself

that is completely unconnected to the original act they're complaining about or allegedly complaining about. a lot of this is violent opportunism. to the extent, people like that, the looters and burners and destroyers, they distract from, if you watch the video of what happened in kenosha a discussion that needs to be had. that whole situation needs to be understood and just like the george floyd situation which was so tragic and the killing of george floyd, so much of the violence that happened after that gets in the way of having a public discussion about, you know, what changes might keep this from happening? what do we need to think about from a government standpoint about policing? all those kinds of constructive discussions get swept aside by violence and destruction like

this. to one of your original points the neighborhoods typically most negatively affected are poorer neighborhoods, which are disproportionally minority. where frankly they need policing the most because there is the most, there is the most threat. all those things wash together. it is very tragic to see what is happening in kenosha right now. >> criticism of joe biden and kamala harris they're not specifically condemning rioting and looting. the thing is, nixon was elected, you know, riots did help elect nixon in 19688. this is now, a factor in the 2020 race. wisconsin happens to be a very crucial swing state. your reaction to that? >> well, certainly in '68 you did have the riots going on, most famously at the democrat national convention there in chicago. but now what we're seeing is, spikes in violence in cities that have been dominated by

left-wing, sort of liberal politics for 10, 20, 30, 50 years. and at the same time, you've got these violent outbursts that are being sparked by incidents like we saw in kenosha the last couple days but aren't related to it. elizabeth: yeah. >> it has become an excuse for the violence and that sort of, that scares people. that is mob violence run amok. elizabeth: yeah. >> when you have got so many politicians that won't condemn it, and it isn't just the ones you named. i was in front of a senate committee where a good third of them hadn't said anything negative that i was aware of about the people committing violence. everybody is happy with protesters but not violence. elizabeth: understood. watch, watch this footage. a woman getting punched in the face for not wearing a mask while going to get communion at a catholic church in philadelphia. let's roll tape on that. let's show that.

always great to see you. what was your reaction to nikki haley's speech? >> it was a pretty ringing defense of trump foreign policy by a republican who is thought to be a possible 2024 candidate. you just heard her defending what the president has done with a number of things in the middle east. destroying isis by the way, other accomplishments. also you did hear reminders of what happened in american foreign policy when barack obama was the president and joe biden the vice president? if you remember, early on in president obama's first term he went on what was called a an apology tour. seemed to go around the world apologizing for bad things the united states had done in the past. this is something that did not sit well at all with republicans and probably a number of independents as well. so it was no accident that nikki

haley reminded people of that last night. elizabeth: you know, our defense and intelligence officials deserve a lot of credit too for what is going on in foreign policy as well because let's go through it. before president trump, we had the ascent of al qaeda, we had 9/11. we had catastrophe of iraq. what was going on in afghanistan, america's longest war. the collapse of u.s. authority in syria and libya. as you point out, the rise of isis. we had russia pushing into eastern europe and the rise of china of the so your take on now, what analysts are saying the president has reformed u.s. policy on the middle east, china and also what is going on in europe? >> well obviously the president hoped for a big break-through on trade with china, that is pretty much in tatters at the moment after the coronavirus issue and some other issues and trade. so that is a real problem right now. but in other areas as far as

europe is concerned, the president has stood up to nato in a way that i think a lot of americans would have wanted to do but didn't do. basically, all he was saying, nato should pay its fair share for defending western europe. that something remarkably really controversial early on in the president's term but it fits entirely with where his foreign policy is. there is the issue of afghanistan where, we invaded and what late turn, november, december 2001, august, 2020, we're still there the president has reduced number of american troops there, and which probably reduce it to a smaller number by the end of his first term. elizabeth: byron york, great to see you. come back soon. >> thank you, liz. elizabeth: sure.

♪. elizabeth: the black vote, again, key in the 2020 race. black voters correctly called the winner more than half the time since the '90s. president trump got less than 10% of the black vote four years ago. most of this term jobless rates for black americans hit record lows. race is a factor in 2020. joe biden now claims that america quote, as systemic racism. welcome back to the show nfl football legend herschel walker. sir, great to see you again. what are your thoughts in all of this? >> it is sad to me and it is very painful that, you know, vice president biden said we have systemic racism when he had been in office for 47 years. if he has been in office that long why didn't he do something about it with the amount of time he has been in office?

you know, i take it as my responsibility to speak on behalf of this president here because you know, i've known him half of my life and i know that he is not a racist. i have been around he and his family for years and you know, out of all those years this president has never asked me to speak up for him during all the name calling that he received but yet i've seen other side, if you have a black friend, you will speak on his behalf. well i decided i want to speak on this president's behalf. he didn't even ask me to do that but that was something i wanted to do. elizabeth: why did waa tant to do it? i think last night at the gop convention that you said, quote, it hurts your soul to hear the president being called a racist? >> i think it was my duty. i think it was my duty to speak up. i told someone the other day, you know, if i was voting for biden, and i still had been friends with president trump for 37 years i would have still spoken up for him, this man is not a racist because i think the

american people deserve to know the truth. they deserve to know the truth. they're going to the booth to vote on the most powerful man in the world. why would you not want to know the truth about him? i know this man's family. i know the president's family. i ate with his family. i kept little donald, they're not little no more, but they were with me a lot of the times. and i know for a fact that what racism is. i know what it is not. it is sad that we have people in washington that in our, in congress or in the senate that have used the word racism like they watered it down. i know what racism is. just because you disagree with someone do not mean you're a racist. elizabeth: you know, senator testimony scott and nikki haley last night, i think you would have agreed with this, there is intrinsic goodness in america. america is not systematically racist. there is not systemic racism in america.

there are problems that need to be addressed and fixed for sure. reform needed to be done but, if, do you think there is systemic racism in america? >> you know, first of all, i tell people to look up the word. one thing i did be i educated myself, when they kept using the words systemic racism. one of the things i looked it up and embedded as a norm. we just got over a black president for eight years. 30 something years that could not have happened 30 something years ago. we have more african-american millionaires in the united states. that could not have happened their years ago. so it can't be systemic racism. i said, guys we have equality that we got to fix but not systemic racism, like something that is not the norm. when they talk about the police brutality, you know, yes there are some police officers that are doing something wrong but not all. 99% of the police officers are very good people. you know they want to go home with their family like everyone else. so we can't say that this is
