♪. elizabeth: okay, criticism growing against mean's joy reid after the msnbc anchor, she asked on camera if trump supporters are radicalized the way muslims act, comparing trump to muslim leaders who radicalize their followers with violent rhetoric. watch this. >> you know, when leaders, let's say in the muslim world, talk a lot of violent talk and encourage their supporters to be willing to commit violence, on their own bodies in order to win against whoever they decide is the enemy, we in the u.s. media describe that as they are radicalizing those people, particularly radicalizing young

against joy reid after she made these comments, comparing trump supporters to quote, the way muslims act. i mean, liz, imagine for a moment that a conservative said the exact same thing about joe biden's supporters? we all know they would be called islamophobic and they would be fired, if not at least not reprimanded for it but these liberals, left-wingers like joy reid. they can get away with it. they can avoidance sell culture, wrapping themselves in liberalism. this is the not first time reid is been in a position. she made anti-gay and anti-muslim comments before on her blog posts. elizabeth: she, trump's, are trump supporters, are all of them radicalized? she is painting, quite the generalization and broad brushed. they are not radicalized. i talk to many trump supporters. that is not going on. >> right. this is feeding into this

polarized environment we have now where both sides of the aisle seem to hate each other. it is being, she is just throwing fire, she is throwing gasoline on the fire here but i just don't think anything is going to happen to her. i don't think mean will put out an apology. maybe they will. i guess we'll see. i personally hope we can live in a culture where people can apologize for past mistakes and move on but in order for a society like that to exist people have to actually acknowledge they're wrongs and apologize for them. in the past joy reid has not done that. on her blog posts. seems like other democrats don't either. just yesterday nancy pelosi went into the hair salon that was closed down to everybody else. she didn't apologize for it. she said the salon should apologize. elizabeth: yeah. i mean this whole issue, as we're, americans are frustrated. stuck? shutdown. this is crisis of credibility. the pandemic is shaking out who do you believe, who do you don't

believe, right? so the debate is tone down the rhetoric, stop spitballing. tell the truth, tell the facts. words have consequences. look at violent anarchists who are really radicalized harassing senior citizens supporting trump on the way back to the hotels at the gop convention. attacking senator rand paul. attacking cops. punching people on the ground. that is the issue. words matter. that is the issue. tone it down. >> exactly right. people on both sides of the aisle should call for civility. unbelievable during the entire week of the dnc, liz, joe biden and all these other democrats did not mention the fact that america's great cities are literally burn together ground. business owners are doing everything they work for because these left-wing mobs are so angry, full of hate. we've got to tone it down. we have to rein in the rhetoric. a lot of people on the left refuse to do it. elizabeth: kristin tate, you're
