"lou dobbs tonight" starts right now. have a great night, everybody. ♪ ♪ lou: good evening, everybody. we are 12 days from what president trump calls the most important election in american history. and this country is in the midst to of what often seems to be an utter breakdown in american society. the radical left has decided that it doesn't matter really who votes in this election so long as the left-wing corporate media, big tech, social media and, of course, the deep state are allowed to deny voters the knowledge of any wrongdoing by their candidate, joe biden. the left in this country believes you may have the right to vote, you just don't have the right to know.

and it is that thinking and that commitment on the part of the left that could well spark a political explosion in this country, one that would return our republic -- turn our republic upside down. 20 odd years ago corporate america, academia, the left-wing national media, indeed, both political parties hailed something called the knowledge economy, that it would drive the future prosperity of america and raise democracy across the third world. well, it turns out that those very same institutions now -- that is, government, corporate america, social media, big tech -- strive and strive mightily to make certain that knowledge is not shared in the body politic, that voters may vote, but they may not know. that, in fact, only elites in this country should have the right to know and should have the right to tell you what you may and may not know. recent bombshell exposes about the corruption of hunter and joe

biden have been censored by radical dems in congress, the media giants, silicon valley building, if you will, a silicon wall between americans and knowledge of what their government and their politicians are actually doing. the newsrooms of the corporate left-wing national media have, indeed, become outposts for the radical dems, the left. they've all tried to bury any report whether it be "the new york post" or fox news about what is happening in this country. npr has been among those denying the public right to know, particularly the truth about the reported corruption of hunter and joe biden. npr's public editor today said that, quote, we don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners' and readers' time on stories that are just pure distractions. how considerate of the npr

editor. in other words, move along, you great unwashed. we heats of the -- elites of the left will decide what is news and what is yours to know. as the left ignores story after story, the stories only grow larger. fox news today obtained text messages between hunter biden and one of his former business partners, tony bobulinski. hunter biden sent an e-mail, and that e-mail remained on hunter biden's laptop. and it revealed the big guy, joe biden as he was referred to, was in for a 10% cut of a business deal with a chinese energy firm. in a statement to fox news today, bobulinski said this, quote: hunter biden called his dad, "the big guy" or "my chairman," and frequently referenced asking him for his

sign-off or advice on various potential deals we were discussing. i'm seeing vice president biden say he never talked to hunt her about his business. i've seen firsthand that that's not true. because it wasn't just hunter's business. they said they were putting the biden family name and its legacy on the line. and tonight that legacy, that name does appear to be on the line. bobulinski says he intends to provide material to the senate finance and homeland security committees which document the corruption of the bidens. he's also, by the way, we've just learned president trump's special guest at tonight's debate against joe biden. questions about the bidens' overseas business dealings loom over tonight's final debate, of course. fox business' hillary vaughn is in nashville getting ready for the big showdown and joins us with more on what we can expect

biden, his associates and chinese venture company. other key contacts include chuck schumer, amy klobuchar, dianne feinstein, new york governor andrew cuomo, and what list would be complete without the raging socialist, new york city mayor bill de blasio? our first guest tonight is among those with the president for tonight's debate, and joining us now from nashville, tennessee, the president's chief of staff, mark meadows. mark, good to have you here. the big story here in the last hour has been the appearance of a very special guest tonight for the president, mr. bobulinski is going to be there. i think this in military terms would be called conditioning the battlefield. well, we're conditioning the battlefield. we're also, hopefully, letting the american people see the truth perhaps for the first time. so on the national stage,

certainly his presence will help everyone understand that this is about biden corruption. and we're not talking about just hunter biden. in fact, i would suggest let's just talk about joe biden. since he's on the ballot, let's make sure the american people know exactly how corrupt his activities have been. and when we start to look at everything that has unfolded over the last several years, you can't help but draw a conclusion that it was a pay-to-play scheme. and so joe biden, on the debate stage, should answer some questions about that tonight. lou: and certainly in the social media universe a lot of people are having fun with the term quid pro joe. [laughter] the slice that he took of whatever pie they were dividing with the chinese, with the ukrainians, with the romanians, with the kazahkstanis, it gets

to be quite a tremendous amount of money. but do you know, does the president know what the fbi has been doing with the hunter biden laptop that has all of that, that treasure-trove of information and documents for the past ten months? >> well, we don't know, lou. and honestly, that's one of those things where the fbu will neither confirm nor deny e any investigation that may be going on. as you know, director wray on a number of issues has been, his fbi has lacked a transparency in terms of getting documents to senators. but i wouldn't suggest that in this particular case. hopefully, they're investigating it. we've now seen enough evidence that would suggest that there was at least probable cause to open an investigation. whether they have or not, we probably won't know for some time. but it does sound like, to me, that not only have they been in possession of a laptop, but they're been in possession of

other information. so now we're all of a sudden seeing whistleblowers and other witnesses coming forward to say that not only was this not russian disinformation, but it was very troubling in terms of the activity, it's pay-to-play access to joe biden and the white house. and supposedly, nothing was wrong but yet what we do know president donald trump has been saying this for a long time, now finally the facts are coming out that supports his allegations from years ago. lou: the president has had to face stiff competition from the biased moderators, i think it's fair to say, that have preceded the one tonight. she appears to be the slyest of all, potentially. he is dealing with a debate commission that is absolutely -- it may not be a rogue operation in the eyes of the left, it certainly is to conservatives and republicans.

how is he going to deal with the anticipated friction and contra temps by this moderator that doesn't even put the economy on the list of fop topics to be discussed in the final debate or foreign policy for which this presidents has won four nobel peace prize nominations? >> well, i can tell you this, that it is disappointing, i think, to the american people to not have the i economy which is, obviously, the number one thing that people are concerned about, not be the lion's share of this topic or foreign policy which, when president donald trump was candidate donald trump running, they said, oh, well, this is his weaknessment well, it's turned out to be his strength. he's accomplished more in four years than most presidents, in fact, i would say than any president has in eight years on the foreign policy e realm. we went from endless wars to

actually having a peace deal under this president. so it does a disservice to the american people when you pick and choose the topics that are slanted to, hopefully, be a benefit to vice president biden, but i can tell you the president's ready. he will take his message to the american people. and listen, he's been a fighter before he got here, he's been a fighter for the four years, he'll be a fighter for the next four years because he is most concerned about america first and the things that matter to main street americans. lou: you know, i can't imagine he by now will have a smile on his face and deal with this with some considerable humor because the absurdity of the opposition, the resistance as it's called, has become comedic. one great note for millions of americans, nancy pelosi is talking like she's seriously interested now in doing a deal.

where does the potential china virus relief stimulus package stand this evening? >> well, i hope she's ready to do a deal. what we've seen for the first 90 days has been a lot of talk and not much action. the president has asked secretary mnuchin and myself to stay involved. the secretary and the speaker, as you know, have had a number of discussions. i'm hopeful that those discussions will provide some real results for the american people. i can tell you that chairmen on the democrat side and chairmen on the republican side are talking to try to look at language and reach some kind of consensus. so we've entered a new phase. but the president has been very clear, there's a lot of people that are hurting, let's get politics out of the way. he's met her more than halfway. it's time that she makes a deal, and if not, she'll have to

in a disputatious battle. lesley stahl claiming that reports of spying on president trump have been, quote-unquote, discuss credited. discredited. we're going to take that up and much more with the editor in the chief of "the news," john solomon, as well as files that he has obtained today from former hunter biden associate tony bobulinski. he's the author of "fallout: nuclear bribes, russian spies and the washington lies that enriched the clinton and biden dynasties." john, good to have you with us. >> good to be with you. lou: did you just about fall out of your seat when you heard lesley stahl say to the president that stories of spying on his administration and campaign have been discredited? >> i did because it's just factually wrong, and "60 minutes" knows better than that. i worked with "60 minutes" on a project about a decade and a half ago. they took great care that every

word would be true, and lesley stahl clearly broke that. there is overwhelming evidence that the fbi spied on donald trump and his associates. i was at least four things i can remember off the top of my head starting with the fact that in august 2016 during the very first fbi counterintelligence briefing they gave then-nominee donald trump, they inserted an agent specifically to spy on president trump and michael flynn. and they recorded every word that donald trump said, even a comment he had made about his minor son. that's called spying. in january of '17, they did it again one of his very first baseline briefings as president. they wanted to put an agent in, and somebody said that's not appropriate. we shouldn't be using it. we know of at least two trump associates who had counter -- human resources run up against them who recorded their words and made transcripts of it. when you wear a body wire and record somebody, that's called spying.

lesley stahl has no basis to make the statement she did in the interview with the president, and i think it's one of the problems we see in media today. reporters are out there wishing what they say is true instead of knowing whether it's true. lou: yeah. it was a stunning, stunning misstatement on the part of lesley stahl. >> yeah. lou: i want everyone to see what the attorney general, it's a very famous quote from the attorney general, and here is william barr on spying. >> i think spying on a political campaign is a big deal. i think there's evidence i spying did occur. yes, i think spying did occur. lou: and the -- [laughter] and the deep state and the radical dems just were beside themselves. they wanted him so to say something about surveillance or, i don't know, cupcakes and daffodils. he used a great word, spying. plain anglo-saxon stuff that all of us can understand, even me. >> yep. and, listen, we see this time and again. just a couple days ago we had adam schiff out there saying it's russian disinformation on the hard drive, and then the dni came out and said, no, it's not. how many reporters went with adam schiff and never corrected the record when the dni came out and said the laptop is not russian disinformation, it's not a spy campaign. time and time and time again in the trump era my profession, people that call themselves professional journalists, have leapt the american public down by misreporting and injecting subjective opinion and e trying to pretend it's fact. it's a shame, and they're disserving the public and the electorate. lou: and i heard reporters today and i read reporters today using, you know, reporting on the claims of russian disinformation as if the number one intelligence officer in this

country, the dni, john ratcliffe, had never said there is no russian disinformation campaign, period. it's stunning, as you say. unprofessional at best, just pure ignorance at the worst. let's turn to tony bobulinski and this president's special guest tonight. you have his files. what are you -- give us an inkling at least of what -- >> yeah. lou: -- you see coming. >> i got a handful a couple of days ago, and i got a more complete dumped today. these are the files that have now been turned over to the senate, to ron johnson. and they make very clear that thed idea around hunter biden's foreign business deals was to trade on his name, to get money from china or any other country because he had access and influence through his father. the early bobulinski files go back to 2015 when joe biden was still in office, and then the deal that joe biden is allegedly a 10% owner of or stakeholder in

occurs right after the vice president gets out. hunter biden and his business partners were looking to trade in on joe biden's name. and most times targeting foreigners who americans should be concerned about; the chinese, the russians, the ukrainians. this story is not a figment of someone's imaginationment it is now documented, and i think tony bobulinski becomes a very powerful witness for this reason: he says he's a democratic donor, he served our country and his family served our country for a long time faithfully in the military. he's got no political axe to grind, but he does have the goods to give us a factual assessment of what the biden family was up to. i think the next few days can be very eventful for the american public and for joe biden. ing. lou: and i want to, if i may, conclude here, john, talking -- i'd like to talk do to you about this disinformation campaign that is being run by the

iranians and the russians. and we had that revelation today. and it turns out that, well, carrying part of their water were rino anti-trump groups including nefarious lincoln project. give us your thoughts on this development. >> what a remarkable statement that someone, a group run by a former mccain operative, steve schmidt, would be -- fall prey to iran. john mccain never would give way to iran the way these guys did. they allowed propaganda into the american public. they furthered it. and this is the problem that we see in america today. we see both political and media elites taking whatever information regardless of factual accuracy and inflicting it on the american public. the lincoln project should apologize, the media who reported on it should apologize, and we should all learn a valuable lesson. let's get our facts straight before we start shooting our

tougher. they're not going to cover it, and i think the key thing here tonight is the president has to sell his own message. he can do some of this, he can go after biden and certainly a little bit, but don't waste the whole 90 minutes doing that. sell his program because he's going to have 75 million people, this is the last big shot at that big an audience. he needs to make it positive because he's done great things for this country. lou: right. michael, your, your piece in the post, you know, another story. what do you make of the new revelations about tony bobulinski, the special best of the president tonight? and it looks like he is a treasure-trove of information not of the biden family liking. >> no. the documents that he's got, i mean, i heard john solomon before, i mean, no one's had a chance to go through all of them yet, but they're all available, and that's e what's amazing. and he's on the record. these are not anonymous sources,

these are not documents that are not publicly available. so this is a watershed moment, lou, i believe, in the history of, you know, sort of the corruption, the international corruption is extraordinary. when you think of all of the things that joe biden was willing to work with the chinese on, all of those democratic mayors and governors that are cited, they were the ones that they were going to approach about infrastructure projects in their cities and states that the chinese could buy -- lou: look -- >> it's an amazing thing for a former vice president to be involved in any such thing like that. lou: yeah. let's be straightforward, this is not about joe biden. this is about the former vice president making a bagman out of his son and using him as a runner apparently for millions of dollars, ed.

and you say there are a lot of topics, and there are, but there are two topic es, and i want to get to this. there are two the topics not on the menu for tonight at the moderator's request. that would be foreign policy and the economy. what kind of idiocy is this to not discuss two of the most important issues and responsibilities any president has? >> well, first and foremost, this should be the last debate that the presidential commission ever has anything to do with it. the two candidates in the future need to sit down and carve out their own rules. this should be a foreign policy debate. always has been on the third debate. the president has to basically go -- again, articulate some of this stuff, basically just don't the entire night. he needs to sell himself and his programs because biden's not going to do it. and i think that's very, very important. people need to be reminded of all that he did and will continue to do, and that's really drawing the line here. lou: hell, if americans don't

understand now that this president is historic, what he has done9 with the economy, what he has done in foreign policy, four nobel prizes, three supreme court justices by next week, michael goodwin, what should -- let's close it out with what you think the president should do tonight in that debate. >> well, look, i basically agree with ed that positive has to be the emphasis. positive about his own accomplishments, positive vision for the second term. and, of course, he he has to mix in other things. the state of the world. i mean, there's a bit of a state of the union speech somewhere in there where you talk about who do you want guiding america in this world given the challenges we face? and, of course, he's got to go after biden on this stuff. there's no, there's no way the media's going to do his work for him -- lou: i mean. >> gotta do it directly himself. lou: and the american people, no

look like damn liars when they come out with 50 others and sign their names to a letter saying it's a disinformation campaign. your thoughts. >> well, i mean, the ed is -- the evidence is out now. this clearly is not russian disinformation, nor did russia have anything to do with it. you might wonder why did these former intelligence officers say that. the throw out this allegation that was obviously false concerning 2016. the answer is fairly obvious, it works. the media will happily report any russia-related allegation that hurts president trump. and it just shows a lack of ethics of these people, that they would say such a thing. lou: you're such a nice guy, fred. [laughter] the president calls them fake news. they're lying s.o.b.s, can we put it that way? the fact of the matter is that every one of those associated with that letter and that statement are lying s.o.b.s, and we have to be plain spoken about it. there is no room here for

mannered responses and quaint civility. this is nonsense, and it is destroying the republic, and we've got to stop it. i think it's that urgent, don't you? >> i think it is, but, you know, something else it did, the intelligence community's reputation is in trouble right now because of the way intelligence was weaponized against president trump in 2016 during a campaign and throughout his presidency. i think they're on thin ice. and not just with president trump, with a lot of republicans. and when so many former intelligence officers come out and just throw, well, russia did it out to discredit this allegation with absolutely no evidence, they have done severe damage to an institution, the intelligence profession, that was already in trouble. lou: well, with any luck at all, with any luck at all they will destroy those organizations. it's time to end the fbi. it is thoroughly and per vaseoffly corrupt. pervasively corrupt. political corruption has overwhelmed the institution. you can't find anyone, you know,

just at random walking with you on the street that respects the fbi for anything it's done in this country in the last, i don't know, three, four years. we know what they've been doing. they've been focusing on overthrowing a president, for crying out loud, and there hasn't been a single whistle blower step forward. and there hasn't been a single one of the current top officialdom at the fbi and justice department have moved to hold those guilty responsible. i mean, those are the facts, are they notsome. >> well, look, i'm a little more hopeful -- lou: are they not? >> -- concerning the fbi and other organizations. i'm hopeful in the second alternative there will be a massive house cleaning that the president will put people in there that will force these law enforcement intelligence officers to do their jobs and to keep politics out of their jobs. and i think the president's prepared to do that. i don't want to throw out these organizations just yet. i think they can be saved. lou: yeah. well, you may think so.

truth and deny it to the mesh people about -- to the american people about what this former vice president did with his son who he treated like a common runner for a mob to bring in money, to split up the money? it's outrageous. >> well, my biggest concern is that the chinese government were investing in joe biden even after he left office because they thought he'd be a potential president. i heard everything that you said, but these allegations in 2017, a 10% stake the in a chinese energy company, interest-free loans, if those are true, the chinese government was investing in joe biden thinking he would run for president in 2020. i'm very concerned about that. lou: they were not only investing in him, they were, in fact, aligning with him. and as he is talking about china's not a, an enemy, it's a competitor. and a fine, fine country.
