"lou dobbs tonight" starts right now. we'll see you tomorrow. ♪ lou: good evening, everybody. we're only eight days from election day, and president trump is campaigning at a pace that would do credit to a man half his age. president trump held three rallies today in the critical battleground state of pennsylvania. finish three-- three rallies. pennsylvania is now crucial to his reelection. fracking and natural gas, big industries in pennsylvania, and at all three rallies today president trump attacked joe biden for shipping american jobs

overseas, for trying to kill more jobs in the energy sector. >> joe biden confirmed his plans to abolish the entire u.s. oil industry. that means no fracking, no jobs, no energy for pennsylvania families, texas. he wants to go wind. let's go wind. let's go have -- he will eradicate your energy and send pennsylvania into a crippling depression. lou: president trump's campaign pushed this week -- push this week comes as his poll numbers are rising. rasmussen's dale lu tracking poll shows president trump with 52% approval, 52% support among all americans. they also show president trump with a 1-point lead nationally over joe biden. biden, in the same poll, held a 3-point lead are, well,

pre-debate just a week ago. and president trump is energized, he's engaging with hundreds of thousands of voters all across the country while joe biden has chosen to, well, keep his campaign close to home. so close, in fact, he had plans to stay in his basement throughout the day, but his handlers did manage to convince him to emerge from that basement to show up at what we would call a small event, some 45 minutes from his house in delaware. all the way over to chester, pennsylvania. biden and the rest of his campaign are keeping a low profile, apparently trying to hide their candidate so that the media won't see or record his blunders and the total mess they seem to have made of things over these final weeks. just how big a mess is joe biden? well, over this past weekend joe biden was confused about just who it is he's running against.

>> and the character of the country, on my view, is literally on the ballot, what kind of country we're going to be. four more years of george -- going to find ourselves in a position where if trump gets hechted, we're going to be -- hecht ared, we're going to be the in a different world. lou: well, i believe joe biden is in a different world. extraordinary. he's getting confused about who he's running against. [laughter] did you ever think any party would put forward a man as their nominee who is, let's say, as easily confused as joe biden? biden was also caught, as you see there, wandering aimlessly behind his wife during a campaign stop just outside philadelphia. just how confused is this man? well, during an interview biden seemed to let it slip that he has a large voter fraud

organization. >> we have put together, i think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of american politics. lou: the largest voter fraud organization. was he confused? or did he utter a freudian truth by mistake? we could find out in the next week or so. what do you think? well, biden's running mate, senator kamala harris, hasn't done much better. she seems to be in hiding as well. when she does emerge, it is often, well, interesting. here she is having to check out just exactly where she is, what city, what state before talking to a paltry few who showed up in cleveland trying to look like a crowd.

>> are we in cleveland? hey, cleveland! lou: cleveland. cleveland, senator. cleveland. remember that. perhaps take notes of where you are. in her remarks, the senator also a overstated the china virus death toll in this country. she claimed the china virus had killed over 220 million americans. she, of course, meant thousands, not millions. a massive error, but it is one the corporate left-wing national media chose not to fact check or to correct. another story that remains hidden by the corporate left-wing national media is the ever-worsening biden family corruption scandal. new text messages obtainedded by "the daily caller" reportedly showing hunter biden wanted to avoid registering as a foreign agent, this part of a multimillion dollar deal with a, that's right, chinese energy

company. "the the daily caller" reports it's the same deal for which joe biden was seeking a 10% cut. hunter biden texted his associate, tony bobulinski, in the may of 2017 to say, quote: we don't want to have to register as foreign agents under the fcpa, the foreign corrupt practices act, which is much more exe pansive than people who should know choose not to know. that's right. people who should know choose not to know. interesting, interesting thought process. you won't see any reports, by the way, in the left-wing national media about these text messages or any of the e-mails taken from hunter biden's laptop. here's "the washington post," well, explaining it all, writing this about those e-mails, quote: we must treat the hunter biden leaks as if they were a foreign intelligence operation even if they probably aren't. end quote.

that is a sentence that the post will live to regret for many, many decades. it took "the washington post" 11 more paragraphs to mention the fact that director of national intelligence john ratcliffe and the fbi have said there is absolutely no evidence of russian involvement with the laptop, there is no russian disinformation campaign behind the biden scandal. joe biden himself has still not denied the authenticity of any of the e-mails taken from his son's computer. but in another softball with the left-wing national media, in this case vie e come/cbs' "60 minutes," biden claimed to know where those e-mails came from. >> from what i've read and know, the intelligence community warned the president that giuliani was being fed disinformation from the

russians. and we also know that putin is trying very hard to spread disinformation about joe biden. and so when you put the combination of russia, giuliani, the president together, it's just what it is, it's a smear campaign. lou: despite what the head of all u.s. intelligence has to say. we'll have response to all of that from none other than rudy giuliani who joins us here later in the broadcast as does former director of national intelligence ric grenell and radio talk show host larry elder. turning now to capitol hill where judge amy coney barrett is in the final hours from being confirmed as the next associate justice of the u.s. supreme court. the full is -- senate is scheduled to hold a vote on her confirmation in evening. and for more, we turn to

businesses. lou: well, joining us now, president trump's personal attorney, former new york city mayor, former federal prosecutor rudy giuliani. also host of the common sense podcast and chat with the mayor show on wabc radio in new york. great to have you with us, rudy. >> always great, lou. lou: senator ron johnson is pursuing, he is pursuing this case, this scandal as vigorously as we could ask of any senator, certainly -- >> you are right. i wish there were a few more like him. lou: -- we wish lindsey graham had done as well. your thoughts. >> i can back it up with documents right from the hard drive. here's a document in front of me which says 10% of a $30 million deal with chinese communists was going to go to the big guy. there are then three more documents in which he's referred

to, joe biden is, as the big guy. and then mr. bob lin key define -- bobulinski defines him as the big guy. on this deal, joe was going to get about $3 million, and he got some of it, a good deal of it. so when he says he never got any money from foreign sources, that's a very, very -- that's a clinton kind of lie. he never got it directly. he got it through his son, through his brother, through his sister-in-law. and if you have any doubt about that, there's another e-mail here that explains how he got it. this is from hunter to his daughter naomi. i would say kind of bitter. lou: yeah. >> but i don't receive any respect, and that's fine. i hope you will all do what i did. the entire family, he supported the entire family, he says, for 30 years. but don't worry, unlike pop, i won't make you give me half your salary. so that's the 30 year -- lou: let me -- >> his 10%, there's a memo here

that says to mr. bobulinski don't mention joe being involved. this is a crime. lou: all right -- [inaudible conversations] let me share with the audience, let me share with the audience another comment involving mr. bobulinski. and if we could put that up. it's from hunter biden to tony bobulinski on may 1st of 2017. if we could please see that full screen. >> okay. lou: it reads: we don't want to have to register as foreign agents under the fcpa which is much more expansive than people who should know would choose not to know no matter what it will need to be a u.s. company at some level in order for us to make bids on federal and astronaut-funded projects. -- state-funded projects. the level of involvement here is significant. the hunter biden role is clear.

bobulinski, and this leads us to, to me, a fundamental question. he a appears before the debate, he talks about the involvement of joe biden. he's to appear before senator johnson's committee the next day. he is, in point of fact, intercepted. fbi agents want to question him, and there ends his public statement. that smells to high heaven. and sometimes just the smell is enough to tell you what's going on here. i'm not convinced that this is on the up and up. i'm eager to hear what you think of it. >> well, the fbi had this information for eight months before i got it. i acted on it in two weeks. they didn't act on it at all. the only reason they revived this investigation is because i made this public. they were willing to sit on this right through the election. see trump defeated, biden

elected, and then that's they co back to way they were under comey. i don't know what's wrong at the upper levels of the fbi. and when we say the fbi, i do not mean the people in the field. they're being misserved, they're being double crossed. there's a sickness at the top of the fbi that has not been removed. it's been there since they fixed the case on hillary and went after trump on false charges. very, very dangerous people. i don't know what they have in mind -- lou: and why is it -- >> -- to sit on information like this. lou: well, they not only sat on it, the information you turned over to the delaware state police they turned over to the fbi. the information that has been brought forward by senator johnson's committee, they basically intervened in a senatorial investigation and blocked bobulinski from from testifying before them. this looks like a crisis in the

making if i've ever seen one, and why in the hell isn't someone telling this fbi director to stand down? or stand up, one or the other. >> i can't answer that for you, lou. i think he should have been gone a long time ago. i mean, i've lost confidence in him when he wasn't turning documents over to the house committee claiming they were classified. in no way were they the classified. they just, they just made clear that hillary clinton was responsible for the russian hoax. as his defense lawyer, the president's defense lawyer, can you imagine how angry i am that i didn't have that two years ago? we could have ended the whole thing. i don't know what's wrong with mr. wray, but there's something wrong with him. lou: and there's much wrong in this government. and we're going to take that up and the democratic candidate for president, the democratic nominee for president, what's wrong with him.

♪ muck. lou: we're back with rudy giuliani. and, rudy, i want to turn to the issue of joe biden's corruption and the accusations of corruption, and i want to show the audience -- because there's been a suggestion that the vice president didn't do a single thing, as he put it, that was out of line while he was in office. and we're going to show the audience -- >> oh, my god. lou: --, please, hunter biden's foreign profits while he was, in fact, vice president, over $12 million worth. $3.5 million to hunter biden, the wife of the mayor of moscow. that's russia, if you're counting countries. $3.5 million. $4 million for work on the board

of burisma. that's ukraine. $4.8 million in consulting fees if chinese business associations. that's $4.8 million from china. $100,000 shopping spree for various members of the biden family from chinese, from a chinese national citizen. that according to the u.s. senate report on hunter biden, burisma and biden corruption. this is stunning stuff, and yet the national left-wing media, rudy, says time after time that there is nothing here. it looks like a great deal is here, and as to your point, ten months the fbi had that laptop and didn't do a thing until they found out you had possession of it. >> yeah. and also, lou, i have to tell you those are very conservative numbers. when i go through the laptop the, it adds up to more like $30 or 40 million that he made while

he was vice president. and the important thing is he tells you on the e-mail that he gave half of it to his father while he was vice president which makes it a straight out and out bribe. that's admissible testimony, by the way. that's an admission, that statement that he made. it could be used in a court of law. bobulinski confirms it. several other text messages confirm it. and there are five witnesses over in ukraine ready to come over and testify that he got bribes there too, and they've been held up by the state department. the deep state department.. it would be fabulous for a trial lawyer. i'd love to try i it. lou: well, i know you would. [laughter] it's pretty clear9 that the fbi and the justice department don't want any part in trying cases against prominent democrats. they've made that very clear over the course of the last five years. >> yep. lou: actually, the preceding eight they didn't do much

either. but the fact of the matter is the fbi in possession of all of this, there has been one pattern that has persisted throughout obamagate. and that is, quite simply, the fbi is a place where truth goes to die and hopes for truth go to die. there is -- i can't think of a is single report from the fbi whether it's benghazi, whether it is the first 11 months of investigating president trump -- people forget about that period, the so-called crossfire hurricane. the results were to try to frame the president of the united states. and nothing, no one was ever held accountable. and at this point the american people is have got to be sick to their stomachs to what the fbi now stands for and the so-called department of justice. and either way, where is william barr? he's gone radio silent. >> well, it's time for,

hopefully wins in eight days, and it's time for major reform. the second part of draining the swamp now has to take place with much better knowledge of just how bad the swamp is. it was much worse than he thought, much worse than i thought. but don't think that that in any way inhibits him from doing what's necessary. he'll also go after those big tech crooks and break them up the way roosevelt, teddy roosevelt broke up the trusts in the gunning of the 20th century -- beginning of the 20th century. lou: big tech -- >> this is the kind of thing that motivates donald trump. lou: well, this president, but the way, he's acting like a man, as i said at the top of the broadcast, a man half his age. but it's actually more than that because he has more energy than most people have half his anal. embarrass him, frankly. your thoughts about the best cause for president trump's re-election. >> he's the only one who has the ability to carry this country forward. i mean, joe biden is going to take us into a depression with tax increases, find a way to do away with oil, trying to do away with fracking, trying to raise taxes by, what is it, $4 trillion? lou: just 4 trillion. >> 4 trillion, yeah. i'm sure he's going to start giving money to iran again like he and obama did. he'll just get back into that iran agreement and everything in the middle east that we've gained we'll lose. we don't even mention it, but look at the tremendous things that trump has accomplished in the middle east. four peace agreements that were thought impossible and would be impossible to an obama or to a biden. i mean, it would be a big step back for this country and a step

lou: breaking news now, two senior administration officials until fox that president trump is looking to fire fbi director christopher wray. president trump may make that move, those sources say, when he ones reelection next tuesday -- wins reelection next tuesday. joining us tonight is ric grenell, former acting director of national intelligence, former u.s. ambassador to germany, great american, and as i have

said more than once on this broadcast, one of the finest public servants the country has ever had. ric, good to have you with us. i want to start with the cia. the cia, it seems, insisting on blocking the release of devin nuñes' intelligence report from 2017 at any cost. your thoughts about that tonight. >> look, we've had a number of the intelligence agencies not recognize the importance of transparency. this is a real problem. it goes across all of the intelligence with agencies who overclassify and continue to manipulate the process pretending like somehow sources or methods aring being given away. and i can assure you that that is not happening. i had lots of fights with intelligence officials and leaders where they were trying to explain to me why certain

information was either a source or a method and how we developed the source, and i would push back hard and say that's not the case at all. what the case that you're covering up internal mistakes of the department. and you don't have a right to do that. this is not an exercise in trying to protect the reputation of different agencies. we have a crisis in this country with intelligence agencies, and if we're going to fix it, the american people need to have a faith in their system. and the faith starts by admitting mistakes and coming clean and saying we erred, and we're going to fix this. lou: i think in this instance, and i think you would agree with me, this is not about their mistakes, this is about their immorality and illegality in trying to overthrow a president and block a presidential candidate through spying and

actual counterintelligence operations run against the white house itself. that makes it a different, different, sadly, a very different thing. and the american people here need the know their sources and their methods. it's one of those dilemmas the government has never faced before and the nation has never faced before. this intelligence report, the devin nuñes report that they will not release from the so-called gun box in the cia, is it any more than simple, simple effort to cover up a crime on the part of the cia? >> look, this is a situation i have to be very careful of in how i describe the -- lou: i understand. >> we've gone round and round with this, and it is not a fight about appropriate information.

and that's what is most frustrating. and i've seen this information, and it's another early red flag raising concerns that this russian collusion hoax was being developed when inside the intelligence agencies career intelligence officials knew that the information was wrong. but political appointees decided to let the wrong information be spread because they didn't like to have to downplay it because it would look like they were defending donald trump. this information was negative toward donald trump. and political ace point tees -- appointees in the obama administration allowed it to continue despite knowing full well it was russian propaganda. and that's what's most troubling to me, is that we had people who took the oath to defend this country, and instead of

defending this country, they used their power in government to weaponize different powers against their political opponents. and that's unacceptable. we have to be able to call this out. and, by the way, i've worked at the state department for 11 years. if we saw this happening in another country, we would call it out immediately, and we would tell them to knock it off. lou: instead, we're looking at a situation in which the president has given the power of declassification, his power if one can actual delegate such a power, he has done so, to william barr, the attorney general, and to the, to dni john ratcliffe. it is -- yet nothing has happened. what is your honest, most realistic, direct anticipation of what will come of it, if

anything? >> look, donald trump's got to be reelected if we're going to have something come of this because there have been those -- and i will just keep it general as to those -- or who are working very hard to delay, obstruct and to come up with brand new excuses constantly. and this is the a very well known issue to president trump. it's been discussed inside the oval office on a number of times, and i think that -- let me just take a step back away from that general, from that specific issue and make a general comment. i think that when donald trump wins re-election, and i believe that he will, that he must appoint people that don't have on their resumé a washington, d.c. address. we need outsiders like donald trump because people who go to washington and who really care about their social status or

indeed, he doesn't. and he doesn't get credit from most to to have -- for most of the great things that he's done across the board since being elected. joining us tonight is larry elder. he's the host of the larry elder show on the salem radio network, executive producer of the documentary "uncle tom: an oral history of the american black conservative." larry, great to have you with us. 44% approval among african-americans. your thought about how important that could be on november 3rd. >> well, if it's anywhere chose to that, that's massive. of course, that's rasmussen. rasmussen is an outlier, but even the naacp put his support at 21 percent which is still almost triple than 2016. this is huge. and van jones is given the same kind of treatment that other blacks have gotten for daring to suggest that maybe, just maybe, we ought to be talking to donald trump. rapper ice cube met with

republicans, he's being hammered on social media. you might recall when the president got elected, the president-elect invited jim brown, steve harvey, the comedian, insuited them -- invited them both in and marc lamont hill, a conservative critic, referred to them as, quote, mediocre negroes, closed quote. when kanye west met with president trump in the oval office, it was referred to as a, quote, minstrel show, closed quote. if you claire to suggest maybe, just maybe, you ought not be in bed with democrats, you're a sellout. which is precisely why i did that documentary, "uncle tom," which is available on amazon prime, available on itunes and also available online at walmart. [laughter] lou: i'm going to -- [laughter] i'm going to get to the next question before you think of another outlet. [laughter] i'm just kidding. if there's another one, we want to hear it. [laughter] the, as we talk about this president and the support of the black community, if there is any president who has ever deserved the support of the african-american community, black americans, it is this man. if there's any president who has deserved the support of all americans for what he has done whether it's in foreign policy, you know, and i was talking here earlier about foreign policy, the fact is people forget. this man has four nobel peace prize nominations for what he's done, not for the expectation, the anticipation or the promise if -- [laughter] but for what he has already accomplished. how is it that anyone could seek to, rationally, i mean just

rationally, politics aside, how could you deny a leader who has accomplished what this historic president has done? >> well, it's exactly why we coined the term, of course, trump derangement syndrome. hook, 25% of the congressional democrat delegation boycotted the man's inaugust rawtion. can you imagine if that many republicans boycotted barack obama's inauguration when, in fact, none did? several democrats have never attended a state of the union speech. two and a half years, three year investigation for trump-russia collusion? the man was impeached, and he contracted covid-19 and smashed joe biden days after recovering in the last debate. by any fair measure, this man ought to be 10, 12 points ahead. i thought when you had peace and prosperity, that got you reelected. lou: yeah. peace and prosperity, when you also have demonstrated unparalleled strength as a leader not only of the united states, but the free world.

in fact, on the issue of trade, for example, in achieving peace in the globe, bringing home our troops, reversing decades-old policy of endless wars and the expenditure of trillions of dollars and the shameless, shameless expenditure of american blood for police actions. he deserves, you know, to me, he deserves all of our thanks, our gratitude, and i cannot even begin to imagine, larry, how anyone could watch joe biden aimlessly wandering behind his wife on a stage as she's speaking -- [laughter] and at the same time asking, you know, saying that he, you know, thought he was running against somebody named george. this tells you a lot about the. [laughter] in this country. the left in this country. if there's a landslide, i think we have a pretty good instinct as to which way that landslide will go, don't you?

>> well, i hope it goes our way. and we haven't even talked about moving the embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem, all the peace deals with uae, negotiated with israel and uae, bahrain and now sudan. when john kerry was secretary of state, he said there's no way you're going to get any kind of peace deal without palestinian buy-in. how about at least giving the man credit for that? no. this man will not get credit for anything. as i've said, if he developed a cure for the coronavirus, he'll be accused of putting doctors out of work. the man can't win.
