incentive structures that the private sector has been fighting to reopen or to keep their schools open. even if you're looking at daycare's, schools, grocery stores and other businesses. the public schools have been fighting to remain right think the differences, one of incentives one of these sectors get these money regardless of whether or not they open their doors. select exactly right that's why private schools in california have mostly reopened grid including governor gavin newso newsom's kids are going to school for their private schools. yet they allowed for claude schools across the state. which some democrats call the new segregation. because if you have a bunch of privileged kids who are enjoying the in person experience, and that means they are not fighting depression. they are not fighting loneliness. they are there with peers actually learning in a classroom the way kids do best. yes, you've got kids in public school which arguably and obviously have a lot less

money, they are the ones achieving this emotional and intellectual atrophy. that is such an incredible disservice to children. >> there are two ways to sell these inequities. one is to open the schools and give the families a choice whether to go virtual, hybrid, or in person. or you can fund the students directly and allow the school districts to choose whether to reopen or not. allow the teachers to choose whether to return to work for in-person instruction or not. that also allow families to choose what to do their children's education by finding students instead of institutions. we don't see this problem with any other sector in the economy. i think it is because the norm in all the other sectors as you arty have a high degree of choice. when it comes to k-12 education have an entrenched interest that profits off your children's education dollars regardless of how well they meet their needs. and regardless of whether they even open their doors. this pandemic is really shining a light on this power imbalance that we see what comes to k-12 education.
