again leftist violence. not a word from the white house. we'll have a report for you from the ground in seattle in just moments. president trump has left office, but the trump agenda remains strong among republican party voters. but the establishment rino leaders trying their best to ignore the former president's 74 million supporters who cast their votes for mr. trump. among our guests tonight are three republican office holders who have embraced and defended president trump and his agenda throughout and who recognize that the republican party is the party of trump irrespective of congressman mccarthy and senator mcconnell may think. and they know trump must remain the focus of the party's future. joining us tonight, congressman jim jordan, congressman matt gaetz, congressman andy biggs.

and president biden swearing in his political appointees, and the president taking some time to reminisce of a private dinner that he shared with the leader of china. >> i was asked a long time ago when i was with xi jinping and i was in, on the the tibetan platu with him. and he asked me in a private dinner, he and i, and we each had an interpreter. of he said define america for me. i said, yes, and i meant it. i said i can do it in one word. one word. possibilities. lou: a short conversation. well, now with the new administration in place, what are the possibilities of resolving all of the issues that separate the united states and china? will president biden continue his predecessor's tough position on trade and china's expansionist policies, or will we see a return to china's

unchallenged theft of billions of u.s. intellectual property, continued theft of u.s. technology and more confrontations in the south china sea? we'll take that up with asia expert gordon chang later in the broadcast. tonight's big story, the continued violence of the radical left and the silence of left-wing leaders. in denver antifa extremists and black lives matter activists burning an american flag and a trump flag outside the state capitol. in portland more than a hundred antifa thugs stormed downtown, vandalizing a federal building. only eight people were arrested. and in seattle, three left-wing activists arrested after their mob marched through downtown, damaging several businesses. for more on the left-wing violence in the northwest, correspondent dan springer in seattle. dan.

>> reporter: yeah, lou. antifa anarchists made it very clear last night they don't care who is in the white house, which party is in power, they are going to continue the violence. and they did it last night as they try to overthrow the entire system and once again portland was at the epicenter of the violence. the party -- the property damage and the challenge to authority, two different riots happened. the first was after a group of 150 anarchists surrounded a few portland police officers on bikes, actually preventing them from leaving the area. backups were called in, and it quickly turned into a confrontation. rioters also attacked a federal building with the local i.c.e. office. federal officers used tear gas and made eight arrests, police did. protesters also smashed windows at the oregon democratic party office and sprayed anti-biden graffiti all while people with cell phones recorded video. this morning the democratic party could not even muster a full condemnation.

they issued a statement saying in part we're frustrated and disappointedded about the damage done, but nothing more. in seattle, the scene was much the same. a group burned an american flag in the middle of busy intersections, broke windows in an i.c.e. office, the original starbucks here in seattle and amazon stores. they spray painted graffiti including the phrase kill the american dream on one building here in seattle. the police made three arrests. and in denver a group of about 50 people marched and burned an american flag on the steps of the state capitol. he were the only ones there except for the throngs of police because the violent protests that the fb irk warned about -- fbi warned about never did happen. we have scoured the internet look for any condemnation from any elected official about last night's violence, lou, and we have not found anyone condemning the violence.

lou? lou: no, and there's only discussion of right-wing violence. it's suitable that it should be antifa and black lives matter actually moving into the streets of seattle and portland with their customary violence and disregard for law. dan springer, thank you so much, as always, for your outstanding reporting. dan springer. politico today reporting lawmakers are talking about the possibility of requiring only three days to carry out an impeachment trial against former president donald trump. the dems and the rinos obviously believe they don't have any responsibility for due process for the former president, nor to consider evidence. for those who are counting, this will be the sixth year of the radical dems' persecution against the president without evidence, and throughout they've only shown themselves to be nothing less than contemptible

if their disregard for their power, for the law and truth. when it comes to the capitol riots, there is evidence that the fbi in virginia warned extremists were traveling to washington and that they would commit violence and try to carry out a battle. what about the leader of the oath keepers who a week before those riots were plotting the attack, evidence that radical leftists like john solomon agitated a group that later became that mob. and then the words of president trump himself on january 6th on the save america rally in which he told the crowd he would want them to, quote, peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard. despite the evidence, despite the president's words and the lack of any evidence against him, the radical dems and ten rinos voted to impeach the

president after only two hours. extraordinary. house speaker nancy pelosi ignoring her constitutional duty, ignoring the former president's constitutional right to free speech and to due process which they are violating. despite the promise of unity from president biden, nothing resembling peace will result if the radical dems persist with their vicious assault against the former president. it is the height of contradiction and hypocrisy for these democrats to speak about healing all the while attacking president trump and the 74 million americans who voted for him while violating his constitutional rights and abusing their power. it is clear what the left-wing activists and the deep state would like to do to president trump, his family, his supporters, and those leftists are only deepening the division

and fomenting conflict among americans. for more on the democrats' push for impeachment of a man who no longer is in the white house, we turn to mike emmanuel with the latest. mike. >> reporter: lou, good evening. today the new senate minority leader, mitch mcconnell, pushed for a commitment from his counterpart, chuck schumer, to save the legislative filibuster. >> with the talk of yoonty and common ground -- unity and common ground and certainly if the rules from 20 the years ago are to be our guide, i cannot imagine the democratic leader would rather hold up the power-sharing agreement than simply reaform that his side -- reaffirm that his side won't be breaking this standing rule of the senate. >> reporter: the new majority leader is seeking unity to quickly confirm the biden cabinet. >> we've got bipartisan cooperation so that april haines is now the dni. we're hopeful that we can get the same bipartisan cooperation for treasury, state, homeland

security or and defense very soon. we need these positions filled quickly. we need our republican colleagues to cooperate. >> reporter: house speaker nancy pelosi's also being questioned over how a senate impeachment trial of a now-former president is going to help with unity. >> you don't say to a president do whatever you want in the last months of your administration. you're going to get a get out of jail card free because, because people think we should make nice nice and forget that people died here on january 6th. >> reporter: and today the house gop leader said for all the unity talk, the president's executive actions are not addressing the urgent needs of americans. >> that is why i was disappointed to see within hours of assuming office the new administration was more interested in helping illegal immigrants than helping our own citizens. more interested in virtue

signals to the climate activists than supporting the union workers who are building the keystone pipeline. >> reporter: the day after inrawing ration, in respects, it is back to the same old battles. lou? lou: mike, thank you very much. mike emmanuel reporting from washington. only hours after his inauguration, president biden's first order of business was to sign 17 executive actions, a number of them -- as we have just heard -- having to do only with illegal immigration. president biden declared his desire for open borders by protecting illegal immigrants from, first, deportation, counting illegal immigrants into the census, of course, and stopping construction of president trump's border wall. but back in 2006 then-senator joe biden sounded like an entirely different person when he bragged that he went against the democrat party line and backed a border fence. biden said this then, quote: i

voted for a fence. i voted, unlike most democrats, and some of you won't like it. i voted for 700 miles of fence. and so they did, but then they broke their words and ignored the law that they passed and never built the fence. another executive order yesterday signed by president biden mandating the wearing of a mask while on federal property. the president calling mask wearing patriotic. yet only hours after signing that order, president biden visited the lincoln memorial where he stood, as you see there, at the foot of lincoln not wearing a mask. the lincoln memorial is, or of course, federal property. a new poll finds that america's trust in the media is at an all-time low. according to the poll from edelman, only 46% of americans

lou: i wish he'd have thought of that first. it would be the least that president trump should have been able to expect from a leader of the house of representatives. or, for that matter, the leader of the senate for the republicans, mitch mcconnell. he has a special place reserved for him somewhere for his absolute egg nance and -- ignorance and his betrayal of the president. at least mccarthy, cowardly he was in that moment, sensible enough at least politically to walk back, reverse himself on that outrageous statement that he first made. well, breaking news and a win for the deep state, president joe biden will retain christopher wray as the director of the fbi. well, not many people are surprised. wray was installed by president trump in 2017. he has spent years stonewalling

republican lawmakers who are trying to get to the bottom of obamagate and the plot to overthrow the trump presidency, and he has, by gosh, succeeded. he will continue as the director of a corrupt organization led by corrupt, politically corrupt officials like himself. well, joining us now is congressman jim jordan. he's a member of the house judiciary committee, the house oversight committee and, unlike the establishment republican party, does not want to abandon the former president and the america first agenda. he was also stonewalled throughout by fbi director wray while trying to reveal the deep state's persecution of president trump, the motives, the reasons and the evidence. jim jordan, it's always an honor to have you on the broadcast. i have to get your thoughts as you see that christopher wray will be -- >> yeah.

lou: -- the continuing director of the fbi. >> well, a lot like you, lou, we were disappointed in the pace, the lack of getting information that we thought was important for us to do our oversight work and to do our investigation. i mean, remember, it took ric grenell to release the transcripts of clapper and brennan and yates and these individuals where we learned that there was never a proper predicate for launching the trump-russia investigation. so we've obviously been disappointed in the pace in which we got information. you know what? frankly, i guess we could do worse than christopher wray. i don't know that he's spying on anybody like the comey fbi did. i don't know that they took a dossier, took it to a secret court to spy on the trump campaign and then, ultimately, four other american citizens without any proper predicate. so we'll just have to wait and see. what i really hope is that they start to demonstrate some of the, some of the actions that will put real substance to this call for unity that we heard from the president, president biden yesterday. lou: what do you think the odds

of that happening are? >> well, i hope -- he said some good things in his inaugural speech, but i tell you, lou, it's tough to unify when you're trying to impeach a president who's already left, when the cancel culture is telling half the population you're not allowed to speak, it's tough to unify when there's a double standard. one set of rules for biden and his family and one set of rules for trump and his family in that story that no one covered in the press last fall. so if joe biden would say to the an sell culture -- cancel culture, stop it, let's have a real debate in this country, that would go a long way, but i haven't seen that yet. lou: no, actually, you've seen the inverse. you've seen the cancel culture actually rising in strength and voice -- >> yep. lou: -- you have seen this president accept and, obviously, implicitly approve of the persecution of the president who

is now -- that preceded him. this is ignorance. >> yeah. lou: this is suredty. and for the -- absurdity. and for the right and the republican party to now behave like rinos and say we're just waiting for the lilies and the tulips to spring up from this awfully smelly ground called the swamp in washington, i think, is crazy. >> no, it's an obsession with the left and with the democrats, lou. remember, they tried to remove president trump from office before he got there, now they're trying to remove him after he's left. i mean, it's unbelievable. and what he endured while he was here, and in spite of all that was able to get done all the things he said he was going to do for the american people, i mean, did more than any president in our lifetime. so in spite of this relentless attack, and yet they started in july of '16, they continue now in january after he's left. it makes no sense other than they've been obsessed with him. as you said this marks now the sixth year that they've been going after president trump and his family, and it's wrong.

and 75 million people know it's wrong. if they really want to bring this country together, they should stop the trial that's supposed to take place in the senate, stop it, and let's work on actually allowing debate to happen and doing the things that make our country this special place. lou: well, it certainly was a special place. it's getting special now for a lot of the wrong reasons. what is your reaction to the chamber of commerce? i'd just like to share or a headline. one of the big benefactors of the republican party, corporate america putting tens of millions of dollars in the coffers of the republican party and their campaigns. but here is the u.s. chamber of commerce. u.s. chamber ceo encouraged by biden's plans for immigration reforms. the changes proposed in president biden's legislative plan would help many businesses meet their critical work force needs. i have never seen a headline

even remotely approaching that with any enthusiasm about the interest and the support for the american working men and their a families. >> yep. lou: and i also saw kevin mccarthy reverse himself because he was threatened by the donor class, by the chamber of commerce, the business round table, the national association of manufacturers and the usual suspects that have defined the identity of the republican party for the last 20 years, certainly. >> yeah. lou: and he was sweating bullets as he stood there saying he believed with all his might that president trump provoked a mob when he knew there was no evidence of such and that it was a damn lie. >> yeah. well, i mean, look, this is why so many people so appreciate president trump, because he fought for middle class and working class people. he fought for people like my dad who is a former union worker at general motors, has since

retired. people, regular american families. and that's why 75 million people appreciate president trump x that's why his numbers amongst republicans is not dropped one bit. so that's what we need to recognize, you know? and think about this, lou, we've got now a wall around the capitol to protect the politicians, but the wall on the southern border that's supposed to protect the people we represent, that's not going to continue? that shows the difference. let's remember the middle class, working class, the american people who make this country a potential place. that's what president trump did -- special place. that's why so many people so appreciate what he did. lou: well, and you and i among them. i just remember a time, congressman, when in this country we didn't talk about class, we didn't -- >> yep. lou: -- talk about working class, we didn't talk about anything but the middle class, perhaps. but the fact of the matter is working men and women and their families right now have no representation. this president has made it clear

who has his priority, his attention, his interest. president trump, as you say, stood up for the working man -- >> sure did. lou: -- and his family, working men and women and their families. and it's stunning to me that the republican party right now doesn't understand the threat that he poses, because i think of those 74 million americans. if they continue being insulted by both the leadership of both political parties, they're going to say the hell with you, and the patriot party will be born, and it will be born with extraordinary strength and power. you get the last word. >> well, i hope we can stay together as a republican party with president trump as the leader of that party. i think that's what's best for the country. you're exactly right. 75 million people don't like the fact that they're impeaching the president after he's left, they don't like the fact that they're being canceled and not allowed to voice their opinion, make

policies of china in the south china sea and around the world. your thoughts. >> yeah. it is dangerous to go back to this notion that we need to strengthen the communist party, that we need to favor chinese jobs while we have policies that throw americans out of work. and really that's what's been the policy of the engagement crowd. president trump ditched that five decades of appeasement, he then started to impose costs on china for unacceptable behavior. biden has suggested he's going to go back to that old way of doing things, and that is not what we should be doing, you know? because what president trump did was historic. what biden will do will just be horrible. lou: well, president trump stymieded by the business elites in this country, the global elites in business and finance along with the chinese and their strong influence campaign in

this country. they stymied the president's policies on balancing trade between the united states and china and, indeed, the world. 15 -- $155 billion trade deficit with the chinese in the most recent month. this is a difficult time, and we're not hearing either party talk about what they're going to do about it. that should trouble everyone. >> yes, for sure. you know, we've got american elites -- wall street, corporate america -- they really seem much more in common with their counterparts in china than they do with american workers. we've got so many americans who don't have a job now because of this disease. we should be concentrating on american jobs. and yesterday, you know, we had president biden cancel the keystone xl pipeline. that's 47,000 american jobs that are going to be lost. lou: well, is and he also moved

♪ lou: congressman matt gaetz has been one of president trump's staunchest defenders and supporters in congress. and after the president was impeached, he tweeted this, saying -- here's how he addressed the dems' sham impeachment in congress. liz cheney should not be the chair of the republican conference. congressman matt gaetz joins us now. congressman, good to have you with us. straightforwardly you said she should not be the chair of the conference, and polling shows that the majority of the conference does not want her there as the number three. your most powerful -- what's happening? we haven't been able to get a straight the answer from anybody about whether there'll even be a vote. >> well, here's the question for liz cheney. if more than half of our conference expresses their desire to remove her, will she still fight and stay? the right now the base of the republican party is strong, but

at the top our leadership, frankly, is in shambles. we've got mcconnell wavering on impeachment, you've got liz cheney spitting into the eyes of tens of millions of americans by with embracing the language and the arguments of the radical left instead of the america first movement, and then i think you have other leaders in our party who are totally shaken by the corporate pacs withholding their money from republicans. now, i'm the only republican in congress who doesn't take any pac money. i canceled them before they could cancel me. but you have to see how significant it is when a leader is picked maybe not because they're the smartest or the most charismatic or even the most effective communicator, but because they have the ability to move tens of millions of or dollars in corporate pac money. well, if you take that corporate pac money away, then it becomes more apparent when the emperor has no clothes. this is where we need the american people, lou. we need folks to call their member of congress and ask are you one of the people joining

policies. not enough of your colleagues in the house have done so. we're at a pivotal moment in history. i really believe the patriot party is about to become a reality not as a possibility. it's a real likelihood, i think, right now when you see mitch mcconnell behave as he did. why in the world would any republicans stay in the party? >> well, you have to ask yourself if the republican party won't fight to defend the legacy and the policies of donald trump, if the republican party won't unify against this sham impeachment, what much good is it if it won't stand up for the american people, if it won't stand up for trade deals that put our workers first? why should we be expected to have loyalty to an institution that doesn't seem to have loyalty at times to its dynamic leaders and to its members and to the people of the greatest nation that's ever existed? so i believe that we ought to win within the republican party.
