up its aggression for two straight days. despite their friend joe biden being in the white house, the chinese have sent their bombers and fighter jets into taiwanese air space. we the take it up with asia expert gordon chang here this evening. tonight's big story is the continued violence in this country of the radical left. despite joe biden being president of the united states. in tacoma a large group of rioters blocked roads, smashed windows, set fires. the left-wing mob surrounded a police cruiser. the police officer tried to get away. and in so doing, two pedestrians were hurt. correspondent dan springer has more on the left-wing violence northwestern u.s. style. >> reporter: the mob was demanding that that officer involved in the incident saturday night be fired. they also my greated over to the

pierce county jail -- migrated, and there they demanded all the inmates be released. police did make two arrests of people who were armed and wearing all black with tactical riot gear and ski masks. police say they were seen trying to pick a lock to gain access to a building rooftop. the man was armed with a handgun, the woman had double-bladed knives and batons. they were booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary. about a hundred people were protesting a actions of an officer the night before, seven county employees had to be evacuated for their safety. the video that touched off the violence is pretty shocking. a tacoma police car can be seen plowing through a crowd of people and running over at least one person. the officer was responding to a large group of street racers doing doughnuts in the middle of the street, but soon after he arrived on scene he found himself surrounded by people, and some of them began pounding on the patrol car.

here's one of the witnesses. >> there was never a call made for people to disperse. there never one time told people to get out of the way. people just approached the car started yelling, you know? like a group of kids, started yelling at him. >> reporter: in a statement, quote: people hit the body of the vehicle and its windows. the officer, fearing for his safety, tried to back up but was unable to do so because of the crowd. the officer had his lights and sirens activated while trying to extricate himself from an unsafe position. the officer drove forward striking one individual and may have impacted others. we do know that two people were taken to the hospital, one has since been released. the officer has been put on paid administrative leave, and the tacoma mayor called on the city manager and the police chief to insure that all those responsible are held accountable. lou: incredible, absolutely

incredible. in the northwest, apparently, they don't know what it means when a siren and police car lights are running. dan springer, thank you for reporting. the northwest has become quite a part of the country, hasn't it? in portland antifa targeting the immigration and customs enforcement facility there, calling for an end to borders and deportations. officers with the federal protective service fired tear gas, and they detained a number of people in the mob. president joe biden wants to court immigration to this country, and he has a novel way of doing it. he wants to increase immigration. according to a white house statement, the president's plan is to reduce immigration by increasing resettlement capacity. that's quite a phrase, isn't it? resettlement capacity. he would increase immigration pathways, as the white house

calls it, in the united states, and that would improve processing at the border for a asylum requests and reverse president trump's immigration policies. let me see. elections have consequences. is this what you voted for? because it's sure what we've got. for more on president biden's calls with foreign leaders, we turn now to fox news senior foreign affairs correspondent greg palkot. >> reporter: lou, president biden making a round of foreign leaders in the last couple of days, speaking on the phone over the weekend with u.k. prime minister boris johnson here. a lot of feel-good talk about the close alliance between the two countries. johnson making a pitch for a u.s./u.k. trade agreement post-brexit. biden also spoke with the french president, emmanuel macron, very pleased about the reengagement on the international front, especially plans to rejoin the

paris climate accord. one trickier call happened last friday between president biden and mexican president lopez obrador. the mexican leader and former president trump actually got along well in style at least. biden did his best to accent the positive even as he intends to reverse trump immigration policies saying his administration wants to get to the root causes of illegal immigration focusing on central american countries and southern mexico, talking about greater resettlement of migrants, more legal migration pathways. reportedly not brought up, president biden's intention to put a halt to the construction of the border wall between the two countries and to soften up some of the tough measures by officials along that border encouraged by the former president. in fact, the mexican president might have other things on his mind right now as it has been revealed that he has contracted covid-19, and his country is facing skyrocketing caseloads

west many of our states, more than 50% of our state is owned by the federal government. you look at nevada, you look at new mexico, a lot of these other states. if you don't have oil and gas production on these -- and you aren't able to continue to drill and survey and do those types of things, thousands upon thousands of people go out of work. you combine that with canceling the keystone pipeline, and suddenly you have all these unions that are out there championing joe biden. and then on day one, hours into his presidency, cancels the keystone pipeline. then the unions say, oh, well, that was a bad idea. what did they think was going to happen, lou? joe biden is devastating the economy, laying off the people by the tens of thousands. and it is so wrong for america. lou: so wrong, and we're not even a full week in, jason. not even a full week in. >> i know. lou: and he is delivering everything he said and,

actually, a little more. and meanwhile, nancy pelosi and chuck schumer are doing their worst as usual, they're rolling out with mitch mcconnell's -- [laughter] compliance and complicity another farcical sham of an impeachment against the former president. now, somebody has to get smart enough in the democratic party to come up with a rationale that makes any sense at all to the american people that you somehow find in the constitution anything that is remotely a power to remove a person from an office that he has just left. this is just ignorance, it's absurdity, it is, it's mind-numbing. your thoughts. >> well, the chief justice of the supreme court is not going to preside over this because -- [laughter] with a remedy, if he is found guilty, is to kick him out of office. well, he's no longer the

president of the united states, for goodness sakes. and you know what, lou? president democrats had something that president trump had said that directed or encouraged or propelled people to break the law, they would have quoted it. but they don't have have such a quote because donald trump said, didn't say such a thing. so democrats, i don't know what they're doing, but, america, if you voted for it, this is what you get. they're not going to move forward nominations. they're not going to move forward on a lot of other things. and the last thing i would add, lou, it's time for mitch mcconnell to pass the baton to a new generation of leadership until the republicans change the senior leadership there in the united states senate, i think they're going to continue to struggle to win the messaging war that they need to win. lou: well, think about this, i mean, you've got thune, roy blunt who has lapses in which he is absolutely cogent and makes some sense occasionally are unlike thune and barrasso and

the rest. i mean, this is ugly and awful to watch. mitch mcconnell, i can't understand why the state of kentucky doesn't impeach him. recall him. it's just -- he is a vicious, nasty old s.o.b., isn't he? >> well, being in the minority is going to be a whole lot different than being in the majority where you can control the lever ares of the senate. -- levers of the senate. i applaud mitch mcconnell for what he was able to do with justices and judges. i think that was laudable. but now it's a totally different game in the united states senate. of you have to convince people republicans and conservatives have the right ideas for america. you need youth and energy and excitement. i don't want see that from mitch mcconnell, with all due respect. but there is a younger generation and some good conservatives that i think would take that helm and would make a difference in contrasting against schumer, pelosi and biden. talk about old, tired and no new

messaging. those three are the epitome of that. republicans need -- [inaudible] to lead in the senate. lou: but you say what you want to about them, and i do often on this broadcast. at least schumer and pelosi have been amazingly effective with the same tired act for almost, well, almost six years. and that is they're going after donald trump again. we now know that in 2016 it was hillary clinton's idea to hatch up a russian collusion narrative that became effectively a strategy against this president by the radical dems and the deep state for the entire course of president trump's administration. they -- just one thing, they never, ever once produced any evidence whatsoever that president trump had, was guilty of a single charge they leveled

against him. it's absolutely disgusting. and the national left-wing media, they just say that's fine, that's just the radical dems. that's what they do. they destroy people. and half the country sits there and says, yeah, that's fine with us. we're radical dems, and donald trump had an unpleasant way about him when talking about some issues. and so, you know, there are a lot of white suburban women out there wondering just exactly what they did already in the first not even week of the administration. talk about the prospect of remorse at buying into that nonsense. i can't imagine the depth of it. >> yeah. you know, democrats are always playing offense. and democrats -- republicans just kind of sit back and take it. then when they have a chance to play offense, they usually don't. they usually try to be democratic-light. play it nice, let's make sure

everybody feels good and everybody has the proper cake. follow donald trump's lead. stand for a policy, stand for a position and then go make the argument for it and make it happen. and i don't see that happening right now. democrats are going to overstep, they're going to go to this socialist type of agenda. it's already happening. and there are literally tonight thousands -- well, there are thousands of people looking at their spouse tonight and just thinking i lost my job. right when everything was actually going pretty well. that's because of joe biden, kamala harris and the democrats. it's the only thing that they can look to. if they'd kept donald trump, we wouldn't be going through this. lou: well, that's absolutely true. it also is true, is it not, that if the dems continue with this impeachment against a man which, again, it's just a fraud against reason and law and the constitution to proceed against

him. it's persecution just like it's been for the past four and a half years. so what should republicans do? and i mean real republicans, not the rinos, because they're going to be cheering. >> right. lou: what is their response? to leave the party? >> i think first and -- no. i think first and foremost you have to challenge the entire idea of the authenticity of trying to have an impeachment trial for something where the person is no longer in office. finish there are those of us that believe that it's unconstitutional to impeach somebody who's no longer in office. you just i saw the supreme court kick out cases about the emoluments clause because it's a moot point, they said. the president is no longer in office. follow the supreme court's lead are. that will ultimately come down to a vote on the floor of the united states senate, and every single one of those republicans and thoughtful democrats ought to look at that real carefully because it is a dangerous precedent to say that you can use as political retribution the

idea of impeaching somebody after they've left office. lou: well, some of them are even saying that you can impeach somebody -- that is remove from office -- people who don't even hold the office. i mean, that's how brilliant they, that's the level of intelligence and the viciousness of what is going on right now. but the federal judiciary has proved itself to be as politically corrupt as many of the executive departments. why would anyone think they're going to have a fair and reasonable hearing by a federal judge? and the supreme court turned down two opportunities to deal with fraud and what is obviously up constitutional acts in at least -- unconstitutional acts in at least two cases. i don't know if it would have changed the come of the election -- outcome of the election, but they certainly created hell by being such cowards. >> well, i do wish the judiciary had actually heard some of these

cases. but in the case of impeachment, lou, the judiciary's not going to touch this. they're going to leave it entirely to the united states -- lou: well, then, what to we -- >> judge roberts isn't even going to show up. so, i mean, that's how much they think of the process. lou: well, it says right there in the old constitution he has to show up. i didn't know that it was one of those volitional matters. but there's a lot about the last year finish. >> well, the president's not even in office. he's not even in office so justice roberts doesn't need to show up. lou: it's good enough for half of america. i'm start to think that half of america shouldn't show up for the republican party, because they are sitting there just watching this unfold, and mitch mcconnell is cheering it on and leading it on. and i think that he should, let's put it this way, follow your good counsel and move on. may i put it that way? move on? is that accurate?

cold war. correspondent benjamin hall with the report. >> reporter: lou, it hasn't taken long for china to flex their muscles. they want to know what they can get away with with the biden administration. we saw it over the weekend as china ramped up pressure on taiwan sending a large number of fighter jets towards the island are, 15 on sunday, just a day after 12 other planes, including nuclear-capable bombers, also went into the area. this mock attack prompted the biden administration first public remarks on its relationship with taipei. the state department saying: we urge beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against taiwan and instead engage in meaningful dialogue with taiwan's democratically-elected representatives. the uss theodore roosevelt entered the south china sea. it's not only the china/taiwan tensions, it's also control over those shipping lanes.

china has called for a reset in u.s./china ties under biden, and on thursday they warned the u.s. to, quote, cautiously handle taiwan issues to prevent harm to u.s./china relations. president trump was a major supporter of taiwan. he old them billions of dollars -- sold them billions of dollars in weapons. the big question for china is how far the biden administration will go to defend the island. president xi jinping urged global leaders to avoid a new cold war. he took a veiled swipe at president trump saying arrogant isolationism would always fail, and he also said the g20 needed to play a bigger role in the world with china at its center, the macroeconomics need to be rejigged in the age of the pandemic, unlikely to happen given that china has co-opted global bodies in the past, and there's been a lot of create similar of -- criticism of that. lou? lou: thank you very much, indeed.

benjamin hall. joining us now is gordon chang, columnist, author and great american. gordon, thanks for being with us, and let's start from the warning -- with the warning from xi jinping at the virtual davos conference, which sounds like an improvement on the real conference, about the prospects of a cold war with the united states. >> well, certainly if there's a cold war, it's because of china. in may 2019 people's daily, the most authoritative publication in china, declared a, quote-unquote, peoples war against the united states. and that was in conjunction with a flurry of very hostile propaganda pieces. you know, lou, this is just ridiculous. xi jinping can go to davos and say all these things, but he's the cause of the world's problems right now. lou: indeed. and they're huge problems, over 400,000 americans dead. 25 million americans infected with the virus. there's been no response.

in point of fact, shi gin e ping had the opportunity to warn the world of the danger, had the opportunity to be transparent and is still to this day hiding from the w.h.o. and u.s. and european doctors rather than let them into that wuhan laboratory that they say had nothing to do with it. it's outrageous. everyone knows what happened, and we know who directed it. what should we do about it? is there anything that we can do about it? >> well, first of all, we shouldn't be rejoining the world health organization because the w.h.o. senior leadership actually propagatedded china's narratives on con dangerousness -- contagiousness. doctors knew it was highly contagious, but nonetheless the w.h. o. told the world, no, it's not transmissable. and also the w.h.o. helped other chinese narratives. for instance, they tried to

prevent countries from imposing travel restrictions and quarantines on arrivals from china which is what caused this. so clearly we shouldn't be rejoining the w.h.o.. lou: rejoining it, as it were. let's turn to the taiwanese and violation by the chinese of the taiwanese air space. 27 aircraft over two days, successive days. this is really quite a statement. joe biden was supposed to be china. president biden is not that -- china joe. president biden is not that, obviously, because xi jinping is really pushing the limits here. >> yes. and in asia and in the united states. china's aerial maneuvers are being said are a challenge to the biden administration. remember, china tested the administrations of george w. bush and barack obama in their early months with military provocations. they didn't test president trump

lou: breaking news now, president trs not considering the launch of a third party, but he is, apparently, compiling a list of rinos that he will challenge in the next election cycle. former trump campaign adviser jason miller saying the former president's focus is now winning back the house and senate in 2022. the president also reportedly working to defeat rinos who opposed the trump agenda including house rin os liz cheney and tim rice, georgia's governor brian kemp, alaska's rino senator lisa murkowski. also breaking tonight, president joe biden rode into the white house with the help of a record amount of dark money. according to a report from bloomberg, candidate biden received $45 million -- 145 million from anonymous donors, more than five times the amount of dark money received by president trump.

president trump. joining us tonight is congressman matt rosen dale of montana. congressman, good to have you with us on the broadcast. let's start with, first of all, the number of rinos in your party. they're really creating some very big issues now. they've actually been creating them for some time, but now it's all clear and in the open. where is your party headed? >> oh, i think we're headed in a good direction, lou. you saw we had 197 of the republicans in the house that voted against the impeachment. the only problem that we ran into was the conference chair or. not only voted to support the impeachment, but she released her information the night before so that her statement could carry the weight of the conference chair. and democrats were able to use it all the following day during the impeachment debate, if you will, on the floor, and she brought just a few -- not very many, but she brought a few members with her.

this is exactly why i'm calling for her to step down. not because necessarily that she voted to support impeachment, but she released the information the day before, she did it without consultation of leadership nor the conference, and in which case she ignored the intent of the rules of the conference, and she weakened the conference at a critical time clearly just to benefit her own political interests. lou: is it your judgment that more than half the conference want her out? >> oh, i think we are in very good shape to have liz cheney removed as conference chair. lou: so why not get a vote and be done with it? why isn't there a vote? why is your leadership trying to peddle all sorts of, i think, incredibly considered nonsense for public consumption moving from -- well, your answer first.

>> yeah, sure. so what we've done is nancy pelosi has made it very difficult for us to get any kind of cohesive and consistent schedule here in the nation's capitol. so she tells us that we're going to be meeting, and then within 24, 48 hours' notice she tells everybody that we're not going to be meeting, and because of that we've got members who are traveling all over the country. it's been really, really difficult to bring them back together again. i am looking forward to and had leader mccarthy have a conference call with the freshmen this weekend where he said that we would be coming together in person to have a special conference so that we could absolutely resolve this matter. lou: so, i mean, it's really very stunning9 that the leadership of your conference does not want her removed despite the fact she voted to impeach the president of the united states, that somehow you

can't convene in order to take a vote, and i'm not exactly sure where the party led by, well, the party and your conference stand on a host of issues. kevin mccarthy has moved to a place i don't quite recognize. it's new ground for him. and it's got to be surprising a lot of people including his constituents. >> welsh he's also calling for -- well, he's also calling for liz cheney to, answer questions as well and has said that she has a lot of questions, but that's she's going to have to answer up for. i will tell you this, regardless of what happens to the leadership of the republican party, the republican party are the republicans across our nation. it's the central committees, it's the volunteers, it's the folks that put signs in the ground and make phone calls. you know that, lou. and so just because you proclaim yourself as a leader of the party does not mean in that you inherit that support. and so what you're going to see is leaders will rise up, and we

do so. how big a deal is it? "the new york times" says it's a big deal. what do you think? tom fitton, president of judicial watch, great to have you with us. what do you do you think, palso. >> well, the question is do you trust the government to keep your cell phone location data private? and right now they have it at their fingertips, and they can access it without a warrant. the courts have previously ruled, specifically the supreme court has said that you need a warrant to get location data, and they've done an end run around that court ruling by purchasing it commercially. so now they have it. so they have your location data, and the question is do you trust this deep state, the intel state to use it appropriately? i don't. lou: can i get to an earlier issue? to me, an earlier question that arises? do i trust anybody with that data? the answer is no. but it's commercially available. private entities and individuals can buy that money -- buy that

data. i don't know how much the money is for it, but i have to say if a company can buy it, why in the world shouldn't the dia be able to buy it? >> well, certainly -- lou: that's my problem. >> yeah. using it for, you know, foreign intelligence targets, that's always the entree they use. we need it to track bad guys abroad. and it's almost always then expanded to track americans here at home. and my concern is the same gang that spied on trump as a candidate, the same gang that spied on trump as a president. joe biden, who unmasked someone. adam schiff, who took rudy giuliani's phone records and published them -- lou: but that's a different matter. i don't trust any of those people. >> that's right. lou: any american who trusts those people who were involved in that unmasking of american citizens and government officials and political officials, you know, is wildly

optimistic. i mean, it's just -- and indifferent to their own welfare and that of other citizens. but this is a case where "the new york times" has made a big deal out of the fact that anyone can buy this data, almost anyone, and the dia shouldn't be able to. i can't square that up. i mean, i am very upset about all that has happened here, but they seem, to me, to be quite a different matter for folks. let me get to another issue. amazon wants to postpone -- [laughter] a union vote, unionization vote because, well, you know, they're concerned about -- [laughter] the sacred election. a secret ballot. and suddenly they would prefer this to be in-person voting, not mail-in voting. your thoughts on that as we think back to their position throughout the past year.

>> well, of course, amazon, jeff jeff beowns "the washington post" -- bezos owns "the washington post" which has been an advocate for unsecured mail-in balloting. but when push comes to shove, they share my concerns that mail-in balloting is not secure, and the best way to have a secure election is to vote in person. well, welcome -- lou: let me ask you quickly -- oh, yes, absolutely. tomorrow before the supreme court judicial watch, you're going to whether you can depose and get testimony from cheryl mills and hillary clinton. what do you think will be the uptakensome. >> we'll -- uptake? >> we'll see what the supreme court does, right? currently as it stands, the courts are have protected hillary clinton in a way that they wouldn't protect anyone else, and they've undermined the freedom of information act to allow senior government officials to take documents and get away from having any
