obvious lies and spurious charges to attack private citizen trump which are reliably repeated by the left-wing national media. the radical dems are, with certain knowledge, violating their oaths of office as they brazenly carry out a second fraudulent impeachment to remove a man from an office he no longer holds. could anything be more absurd, more tragic, more pathetic? could the dem9 and some rinos be more callow and corrupt as they also violate the constitutional rights of a private citizen? a man who still must defend himself against the snakes of both parties as they strive without conscience to destroy him. the dems' house impeachment managers in front of god and all americans fraudulently claim president trump is, quote, singularly responsible for

inciting an insurrection at the capitol last month. the radical dems ignore the fbi's own findings that the capitol riot had been coordinated before the former president's speech in washington on january 6th. ignoring further the fact that the fbi and the staffs of schumer and pelosi among others were briefed on intelligence that suggested there could well be violence at that rally. a threat they did not respond to at all. ignoring as well the fact that donald trump called for peaceful and patriotic protest in his very speech that very day, a point made by one of the attorneys who represent citizen trump. >> does this country really need to see videotapes? we know now, apparently, that mr. swalwell and the other managers tend to show videotapes of the riots and people calling in, people being hurt, police

officers talking. why does the country need that now? we would stipulate there was a riot that went on that day. it was a tragedy. president trump has condemned violence at all times. read the words of his speech. it calls for peacefulness. this has nothing to do with president trump. lou: the radical dems though are blinded by their crass political purpose. it is no more than that, no less. and their desire for trump, now a private citizen, to be prevented from ever holding political office ever again. although that is not within the power of the senate. as for the former president, his legal team filed a defiant response this afternoon calling the impeachment push unconstitutional. trump's team said the senate lacks jurisdiction over the 45th president because he holds no public office from which he can be removed.

that seems to be quite evident, it seems to be, well, very fundamental to any impeachment effort. they also say that trump's widely-shared concern that the election results were suspect is protected speech, a right enjoyed by all americans under the constitution's first amendment. the same first amendment that protects violent speech like this from the radical dems and the radical left. >> they're not going to let up, and they should not. >> there needs to be unrest for the streets for -- in the streets for as long as there's unrest in our lives. >> if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out -- >> when they go low, we kick 'em. [laughter] >> i just don't know why there aren't uprisings all over the country. maybe there will be. >> i wish we were in high school

about his new book. you wouldn't know there was such a thing as antifa if you had to listen only to radical democrats. president biden today continued his rule by executive order. it's historic, it's unprecedented. president biden signed three more actions regarding immigration that will make it easier for illegal immigrants to receive a green card, that will authorize aid to central america and will create a task force to reunite some 600 families separated under the trump administration. there are no, no words from the biden administration yet about those families that were separated under the obama/biden administration. today's orders will also take steps to end the remain in mexico policy for asylum seekers as well as title 42, a china virus protection protocol that allows the border patrol to deport everyone but children.

no more according to this order. since the pandemic began, the customs and border protection has turned back more than 300,000 all el legal immigrants -- illegal immigrants. many of them, though, are waiting in camps along the border in mexico. as many as 5,000 unaccompanied children crossing the border also remain in u.s. custody. well, president biden has taken dozens of executive actions during his early days in office, some of which have killed thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs for hard working americans and particularly the energy sector. today house minority leader ken mccarthy -- kevin mccarthy led a group of republican lawmakers to texas to rail against those job-killing biden policies. fox news chief correspondent mike emmanuel with more from washington. >> reporter: the house republican leader and nine of his colleagues from texas, oklahoma and new mexico visited the houston ship channel today

slamming president biden's executive the actions. five in particular related to energy, environment and climate policies. >> i never envisioned listening to president biden on the day of being sworn in talking about unity. but in less than two weeks, wiping away tens of thousands of americans' jobs. >> reporter: texas republican congressman kevin brady from the houston area urged the president to change course. >> mr. president, you pledged at your inauguration to do your very best for all of america, not just those who supported you. reversing your job-killing decisions would be a good place to start. >> reporter: the top republican on house foreign affairs says cracking town on american energy -- down on american energy helps our adversaries. >> this punishes the american worker, it kills their jobs, and

it rewards our enemies. imagine that. it weakens america and empowers our enemies, russia, china, iran and venezuela. they are going to be the ones to profit off of this. >> reporter: the mayor of carlsbad, new mexico, is sounding the alarm, warning new mexico's congressional delegation the president's executive actions, quote: will ultimately cost tens of thousands of new mexicans their jobs and result in the state losing billions of dollars which could have been invested in our schools, seniors and roads. meanwhile, new climate envoy says the u.s. economy is starting to transition. >> 55,000 new jobs in texas all in wind. in texas, the home of the fossil fuel industry, you know? i mean, this is a transition where the fossil fuel companies themselves. look at bp or shell or other large fossil fuel companies.

billion quarter following a holiday and pandemic shopping surge. amazon's stock is trading up just about 1% in after-hours trading, $125 billion in revenue. impressive. only apple has done as well. google parent company alphabet also reporting earnings that surpassed wall street targets. alphabet with a $57 billion in revenue last quarter, a 23% increase year-over-year. the stock is nearly 7% higher in after-hours trading. and it was a good day for the rest of wall street's investors. the dow jones industrials finishing ahead 476 points, the s&p gained 52, the nasdaq up 209. volume on the big board, 5.5 billion shares. and listen to my reports on the salem radio network, please. now to the city of chicago where a powerful teachers' union is, well, flexing its muscle in

one perspective, bullying in another. chicago city officials backed down from their earlier threat to lock teachers out of their remote learning tools if they failed to show up and prepare for in-person classes. the teachers' union now says it is winning their fight against the city. fox news correspondent mike tobin is in chicago this evening and has the latest for us. mike, good evening. >> reporter: good evening, lou. an announcement late yesterday let a lot of pressure off of the situation. it may have prevented a strike. it created a dynamic where some 340,000 students could continue with some kind of curriculum while teacher and the city try to pave a way back into the classroom. there was a joint statement that came from the mayor's office and the ceo of chicago public schools announcing what they called a milestone, but it boils down to two more days of remote learning while negotiators head back to the virtual bargaining table. we are calling for a 48-hour

cooling-off period that will hopefully lead to a final resolution on all open issues. one concession made by cps was to not make good on that ultimatum issued over the weekend. that came from janice jackson, the public school ceo. she said if teachers didn't show up on monday, they would be locked out of google suites. the president of the teachers' union said that move would have triggered a strike vote. the union president said we want to keep working remotely as we bar gain for an agreement. now, a letter to parents said that progress has been made in a number of areas, in contact tracing, in safety protocols and in terms of things like ventilation and filtration. but we are now just about halfway through this 48-hour cooling-off period, and at some point teachers in the city are going to have to strike a deal in other in order to get sons and daughters back in the classroom.

lou: breaking news now, pennsylvanias secretary of state is resigning at the end of this week. that's because her office broke the law, election law, when she failed to publicly advertise the a proposed constitutional amendment. that's right, an amendment to the pennsylvania state constitution that would aid sexual abuse victims. bookvar was also at the center of great concern about pennsylvania's election results and how they got to those results, circumventing the state legislature in defiance and in violation of their state constitution in order to provide mail-in ballots three days after the election. there you go. she's outta there come friday. also breaking tonight, senate

majority leader chuck schumer has left open the door to censure former president donald trump if the senate votes to acquit him for a second time. here's what schumer told chad pergram today. >> i think the president should be tried. i hope he will be convicted. anything past that is something we can discuss, but he deserves conviction. nothing less. lou: well, well, well, that's what you're dealing with, ladies and gentlemen. our next guest has been working with former president trump to prepare, to prepare for next week's so-called impeachment trial. the former president's team today filed a 14-page response to the radical dems' impeachment case such as it is. they are asking the senate to dismiss outright the dems' article of impeachment. joining us is jason miller, senior adviser to the former president. jason, good to have you with us. i know where to start, start

with the constitution. first of all, why is it incumbent upon the president to proceed with a impeachment when he does not hold office? everything that the democrats have done to this point is unconstitutional. it even scans in the constitution the chief justice is to preside when the president is tried. neither are present if for this proceeding. whatever else it is, it is not a constitutional impeachment on its face, is it? >> lou, you make a really good point. in fact, i've spoken with a number of legal scholars who said president trump would be perfectly in the right to go and say pound sand and not even show up and to not even have his legal team even address these outrageous charges in this article of impeachment. but what we saw today with the filing that our team put forward, david schoen along with bruce castor, was a very clear,

very concise beatback of this overreach by the democrats. and to be clear, lou, what the democrats are trying to do here with this unconstitutional approach, the democrats are trying to change the u.s. constitution to impact one man after he has already left office. so think about that. the entire notion of impeachment is designed to try to remove someone from office. president trump is already out of office. so they're going after a private citizen. and what we saw today left behind by the democrats really i would like to think is something that would be left behind at a dog park by a wayward other than. the democrats' filing today, lou, is absolute nonsense. it's clear going into next week they're just going to try the use their time to try to hack president trump politically. they have a bad case. lou: they have a bad case, they don't have a case. because there is no the basis in law or the constitution of the united states for what they're doing. so i guess the question really

becomes why hasn't kevin mccarthy and mitch mcconnell toll schumer and pelosi to go -- told schumer and pelosi to go pound sand? this is outrageous. and in some ways i do not think -- perhaps on greater reflection i might want to argue the point, but i don't understand why we would even do them the honor of showing up for what is a fraudulent, absolutely corrupt effort to besmirch the president once again now as a private citizen. it makes no sense. where is the republican party? what in hell are you people doing? >> well, you're exactly right, lou, and i wish that our leadership on capitol hill was fighting much harder e. and i think part of the things we look to next week -- this is something i have discussed with the president -- we all know that president trump is a fighter. he's going to go and stand up for himself. as we talk about how the democrats are not only putting president trump on trial, they're also putting the u.s. constitution, they're putting

your free speech on trial. and, again, if they're going to go after one individual, try to change the constitution to do that, you know what we're going to do, lou? we're going to put the democrats on trial. we're going to put chuck schumer, we're going to put nancy pelosi, we're going to go and put maxine waters, we're going to put them on trial next week, and the country and the entire world is going to see just how frivolous and vindictive the democratic party is. lou: uh-huh. would it be appropriate to also call, say, lindsey graham and mitt romney and a few other folks just for the fun of it? this is, to me, an absurdity, that the president as a private citizen has to put up with these idiots. and it is really despicable that the american people are tolerating this from their elected officials. of both parties, frankly, whether it's the rinos of your party or whether it is the democrats on capitol hill. it is sickening to watch.

surely there is, there is something in the conscience of mitt -- of mcconnell and mccarthy that would urge them to do something about this. i mean, i'm so sick and tired of hearing republicans belly ache and bemoan their lot whether it be on behalf of the president or themselves. it's about time republicans did something, don't you think? they're monitoring just about every damn thing but doing nothing about anything. >> well, actually, i'd push back on that one point, lou. as we've seen already with these ten republicans who did vote for impeachment, seven of the ten already have primary challengers. we were in the field last week with a survey in liz cheney's -- well, in her state. one member for wyoming, she has a 13% reelect. her voters, republicans and democrats, want her out. and there's a critical point, lou, that you remember this from going back to 2016. part of the reason why president

trump won with such big numbers and why he did so well with democrats and independents, he ran as an indictment on the failed politicians from both parties. and so what we're seeing here are a lot of the entrenched incumbents, the career politicians -- democrats and republicans. i'm a republican, i'm a proud republican, but i have no problem calling it out. they want president trump gone because they want to be the power brokers. but you know what? there's a reason when we did that polling in the battleground states and we showed 80% of trump voters and 76% of republicans will vote against any member who supports impeachment. you better believe they're going to be coming for any republican house members or senators that do go and vote for impeachment. it's not going to be a good look for them next year. lou: well, all we have to do is wait for two years, jason. i was thinking something of a somewhat shorter horizon, as you well know -- [inaudible conversations] thanks for being with us. we appreciate it. thank you very much, jason.

"the base" reports as president biden's staff are asking reporters what questions they plan to ask white house press secretary jen psaki before her daily briefings. that's amazing. joining us now, joe concha, media and politics columnist for "the hill," fox business contributor. joe, good to have you with us. maybe this has happened before, i've never heard of anyone going to the esteemed white house press corps and saying what are

you thinking about talking about? >> yeah -- [inaudible conversations] >> yeah. and democratic and republican circles, those administrations, you had gaggles with the press secretary beforehand, and the press secretary would try to get a feel of where certain correspondents' heads were at in terms of topics. actual questions verbatim, that's something different altogether. but if you look at this report, lou, you see the title of it, the headline, white house reporters: biden team asks us for questions in advance. you have one reporter that actually said that the briefing room, if the white house is picking and choosing questions they want, that's not really a free press at all. so it seems like we're talking about questions here, and that's -- it's not terribly surprising considering the biden campaign, if you recall, the few times that mr. biden actually took questions, it was reporters chosen by a staffer, it was a predetermined list, those who may ask uncomfortable questions like peter doocy were boxed

occupant. so is this surprising? not really, no, considering that this is an administration, the communications team that wants to control the message and keep things as scripted as possible. and kudos to those three white house correspondents that spoke up and said, this is wrong if you're asking us for questions. and what about everybody else in that room in what about reporters that may be actually acquiescing to this so they can the get more access. it's not why you become a reporter, so it can be a fixed fight. the white house press secretary should be able to answer any question about policy and perspectives of the administration without a cheat sheet, so to speak, lou. lou: yeah. and, really, the contrast between this and trump and the obama administration which was very, had so few of these, what would we call them, confrontations over time. this is a very press-unfriendly

administration already, and we're not even two weeks into the thing. >> and that's the irony, lou, right? donald trump took more questions from reporters despite being attacked by a very hostile white house press corps, more questions in four years than probably his four predecessors combined in their eight-year terms. so that's, that's pretty telling that donald trump i uncomfortabe question from one of the few reporters in there who wants to hold this administration accountable. lou: very quickly, joe, i want to turn to big tech, social media, their anti-conservative bias. there's a whitewash of sorts going on in academia, if we can still call higher education that in this country. suggesting that that is

overdone, that big tech is just fine. this, of course, from liberal left-wing scholars, can i call them? your take. >> yeah, there's an nyu study out that says any conservatives that complained about big tech bias against conservatives, that should be labeled disinformation. and you say, boy, all right, that comes from nyu? it does seem to be a pretty expensive study. the problem is a good chunk of the study was actually backed by the founder of craig's list who donated countless money to the biden administration and, obviously, therefore, this is a skewed study. where you know this is complete b.s. is the study itself says that the suppression of the hunter biden story by the new york post was justified. oh, really? because i believe there's an fbi investigation ongoing into hunter biden, and the new york post was exonerated for their reporting while big tech censored the story, blocked the post out of their twitter account. so if that's the conclusion of the study, you can basically put

davis hanson, senior fellow at the hoover institution at stanford university, best selling author. victor, great to see you. not even two weeks into this administration, and we have seen an unprecedented number of executive actions. i think for the democratic party, an unprecedented amount of pushback and blowback from democrats, particularly those who have been affected by his anti-fossil fuel, anti-energy independence executive orders bemoaning the fact that he is killing jobs which is precisely one of the points of contention between biden and trump. jobs, jobs, jobs and energy independence. what is going on here? >> i think, lou, a lot of democrats and especially never trumper republicans, such as they were, they really bought into this idea that they were so fixated on trump that trump was

opposed by these moderate democrats under the guise of joe biden. joe biden had never said anything moderate throughout the whole campaign. to the extent that he even campaigned, more or less a virtual campaign, it was pretty radical. i mean, he was for open borders, he was for stopping the wall, he was for stopping fracking. he said it all. and and so they all believed, nevertheless, that once trump was out of the way, he would be the adult in the room and restrain the aoc, elizabeth warren, and he was only going to be a one-term caretaker. and i think they never really looked at the evidence. and i think much more likely is that joe biden feels that he's liberated. he's probably not going to run for re-election, he doesn't really care about the midterms. he's got two years, he's got the legislative support in the congress. i think he always felt that he was somewhat inferior in stature to barack obama, and now he's going to go out not with a whimper, but a bang, and he's going to be the progressive leader of the last 50 years, and he's going to go full throttle and not just follow this leftist

agenda, but maybe even lead it. because he shows no, not an iota of evidence that he's pushing back on the radical agenda. if anything, these executive orders are ahead of even aoc and the squad. so i think i have no sympathy, of course, for the never trumpers because it was obvious this was going to happen, but the democrats are even more surprised, senator tester and others, why is he canceling keystone, why is he putting people out of work? what's wrong with natural gas if it's clean? that doesn't matter to joe biden and the left. they're going to have to live with it. all of us are, in fact. lou: i was going to saw, the entire nation, as you and i both know, will be paying the price for their somewhat academic discomfort. this is for real for lots of working men and women in this country and their families who are going to be torn up by this, this ignorant policy of this

administration. speaking of ignorance, another fraudulent impeachment sham. mitch mcconnell basically aiding and abetting chuck schumer. kevin mccarthy all but silent on what to do about it. the republican party is just letting this farce move ahead. constitution requires the presiding over of any impeachment trial of a president to be presided over by the chief justice. he's not there. requires that he be in office in order to be removed from office. he's not there. what in the world kind of fools are the republicans to even honor this thing by pretending it is real and necessary? it is just -- i have to tell you, i've never been so frustrated by such obvious ignorance on the part of both parties. >> yeah. i think what happened is with the republicans they got into this frenzy of january 6th, and

they were assuming that donald trump had incited sedition, they believed that, they didn't look at the transcript, they didn't look at the context -- lou: you really think they believed it? >> they wanted to virtue signal -- yeah. i don't know whether they believed -- what? they were just like the kohington kids or the jussie smollett hysterias. they wanted to go out and virtue signal. they didn't look at the actual situation where you can't have a impeachment trial if you have neither a chief justice nor a president. there's neither one. they don't exist there. they're not going to be there. donald trump is a private citizen. and then any of the crimes, the deplorable takeover of the actual capitol was in progress when donald trump was in speaking. you can make an argument that he might have been, you know, a little bit inarticulate or clumsy, but he did not say go over there and tomorrow that. everybody knows that, and yet that would be the high crimes and misdemeanors they would need to convict him x. finally, you

know, this is -- if you look at what chuck schumer did in front of the supreme court building while it was in session anden didn't even say justice, he said gorsuch, kavanaugh, we're -- you know, you won't know what hit you, you're going to reap the whirl wind, in the front of an agitated pro-abortion crowd, basically threatened them e, and he's going to be one of the accusers. the same asymmetrical irony applies to all these people, because kamala harris, she's going to be in there. >> ossoff: tense by, she's going to be -- os ostensibly, she's gg to be voting. she suggested that the demonstrations that were always ending in violence this summer should continue and continue and on the. and you can look at maxine waters, the same thing. we've got to have some standard. at what point when a public official is speaking to a crowd in a very agitated matter, what constitutes sedition and what doesn't, and you could make the argument that a lot of democrats

♪ ♪ lou: our next guest is the journalist andy kno, and it's good to have you with us, andy. he suffered a brain hemorrhage as a result of a vicious attack by antifa thugs in portland two years ago. he spent yeared embedded -- years embedded with antifa witnessing the carnage, and he has a new book entitled "unmasked" out today. it is available on amazon, bookstores everywhere, barnes & noble. andy, good to have you with us, congratulations on the book, congratulations on your sterling work covering the violence of antifa. let's turn to, first of all, the people -- the antifa thugs who now are demonstrating in front of bookstores to stop your book from being sold. this has come full circle for you, hasn't it? >> it has. i mean, so a couple weeks ago

they were demanding that portland's largest bookstore ban the book. this is a contemporary version of book banning. the bookstore or said they wouldn't sell on its shelves, but that it would be available online. so antifa chose to be violent outside, caused the business to shut down for a couple of days. furl -- unfortunately for them, that's how a lot of people ended up hearing about this book, so i am thankful that they helped promote why this book is so important. lou: we never thought we'd hear andy ngo thanking antifa for their support. [laughter] but we have a lot of people in this country, as you well know, who need to read this book because there are many people who underestimate both the strength, the power and the purpose of antifa. give us your thoughts right now on its primary role in the american body politic.

>> so they've existed on the fringes of the far left in the united states since the '80s, but they were able to move into the mainstream in occupy, a position that gave them legitimacy because they had a shared enemy with the democrats and and the media class in donald trump. and so with that legitimacy, it allowed them to not only carry out acts of wanton violence on the streets of america, cities like mine, portland, but in 2020 to actually bring certain places to its knees, essentially. so we've had more than 120 days of nightly riots that happened last year. everything that happened on the 6th of january on capitol hill, all that happened night after night in portland. people came with knives, explosives, guns, they tried to burn down buildings when there were people inside.

in seattle, i write about this in in the book, it led to shootings and homicides, attempted rapes. so their ideology is invented by the left because these extremists are doing it allegedly what they say is under the banner of anti-fascism. but all it is, it's just domestic terrorism. lou: andy, very quickly, we've got just a few seconds left, why the northwest right now the hotbed of left-wing violence? antifa, black lives matter, why the northwest? >> because these are political left-wing monocles there with weak leadership are. mayors, for example, who are going back several years decided that they could coddle and grow and feed this extremist movement who call themselves anti-fascists, and now it's come back to literally bite them.
