rights. greene today defended herself on the house floor. >> it should be america first always, always. and there's nothing wrong with that. and if this congress is to tolerate members that cop done riots -- condone riots that hurt american people, attack police officers, occupy federal property, burned businesses and cities but yet wants to condemn me and crucify me in the public square for words that i said and i regret a few the years ago, then i think we are in a real big problem, a very big problem. lou: the radical dem mobs presumed to be now the arbiters of free speech. there is no limit to their gall, to their presumption. they are willfully ignoring their own recent wild theories and comments and slurs.

to this day, the left spews the hate and the lie that former president trump was a russian agent. they falsely claim that trump's phone call with the president of ukraine was an impeachable offense, all of it pureeing -- pure hogwash. but that doesn't deter them. they are evil. they are filled with hate, and they propagate it. they now say trump's criticism of a lack of election integrity amounted to, quote, incitement of an insurrection. the radical dems' crackdown on dissent comes at a time when the republican party itself is at a pivot aal moment. during a nearly five-hour-long republican conference meeting last night, house minority leader kevin mccarthy reportedly told his caucus i you've elected me leader, let me lead. his remark somewhat reminiscent of 2016 presidential candidate governor jeb bush who once had to tell an audience when to

clap, saying, please clap. without former president trump's leadership, the gop is suffering not only an identity crisis, but an outright rupture within the party. during their caucus meeting last night, some members of the republican party reportedly offered congresswoman greene a standing ovation. while in that same meeting, the caucus voted 154-61 to retain liz cheney in leadership as republican conference chair. despite her vote to impeach former president trump. by the way, that vote taken was a secret ballot. hardly the way to do the people's business. actually, an awful way in which to do the people's business. the republicans should be ashamed. those developments come as a new poll shows that congresswoman taylor brian is far more popular than cheney is in her district among republican voters.

greene has a 10-point net favorability. cheney has a net unfavorable rating of -28. what does that say about the republican caucus? for more on this, we turn to fox news chief congressional correspondent mike emmanuel. good evening, mike. >> reporter: good evening. democrats are expected to have the votes to remove freshman congresswoman marjorie taylor greene from the her assignments for conspiracy theories before being elected to congress. >> i never said any of these things since i have been elected for congress. these were words of the past, and these things do not represent me, they do not represent my district, and they do not if represent my values. >> reporter: house speaker nancy pelosi was on the defensive insisting this move against greene won't set a precedent. >> no, no. if any of our members threatened the safety of other members, we'd be the first ones to take

them off of the committee, that's it. >> reporter: when ilhan omar was accused of making anti-semitic comments in 2019 as a member of congress, she was not removed from committees. this week some house republicans proposed a gop amendment to kick omar off her committees too, but the democrat-led house rules committee decided that wasn't germane. >> ridiculous distraction. obviously, we can sees sees seee racist, islamophobic, hateful. >> reporter: a new republican member of congress from south carolina calls this a blatant double standard. >> well, it is a power grab. it is unprecedented. i've told folks that i will consider it when the democrats file a resolution holding their own accountable for their anti-semitism, their bigotry, their violent rhetoric. >> reporter: after a whole lot of unity talk around the inauguration, it feels like congress may be more divided

than ever. lou? lou: congress itself divided, the republican party divided and dividing, it seems, by greater measure every single passing day. mike emmanuel, thank you very much. >> reporter: thank you, sir. lou: defense secretary lloyd austin has ordered the entire u.s. military to stand down over the next 60 days for what he calls needed discussions on extremism in the ranks. a standdown order will take the military off an offensive footing but doesn't mean all military operations would stop at once. that's reassuring, don't you think? pentagon press secretary john kirby -- yes, he's back -- says the number of extremists in the military is small but not an insignificant problem that has to be addressed. so the problem gets more ridiculous. just how small is the problem? there are a combined 20.3 million veterans active duty and

reserve service members. last year the fbi opened 143 criminal investigations into troops and veterans. 68 of those cases for domestic extremism. quote-unquote. that is. .0003% and hardly a rational reason to stand down the entire u.s. military. and, by the way, or we are still waiting to hear how the head of the department of defense would go about making these determinations. they simply have offered not even a hint or a suggestion that they have any idea whatsoever how to do that. the biden administration's radical and sometimes cavalier policies are also permeating our school systems. president biden's nominee to be education secretary, miguel

cardona, says he is okay with the idea of biological males competing in female sports. senator rand paul challenged his thinking yesterday at cardona's confirmation hearing. >> what do you think in general about boys running in girls' track meets like they've been doing this connecticut? >> i think that it's critically important to education systems and educators respect the rights of all students including students who are transgender. >> does it bother you that like the top 20% of boys running in track meets beat all of the girls in the state? do you think it's fair to have boys running in the girls' track meet? >> i think it's appropriate -- i think it's the legal responsibility of schools to provide opportunities for students to participate in activities, and this includes students who are transgender. >> you're okay then with boys competing with girls. >> respectfully, senator, i think i answered the question. >> the vast majority of america is just wondering who are these

[laughter] well, in contrast, a recent notice from china's education ministry suggesting young chinese boys play more sports as a way of making them more masculine. the biden administration's also dealing with another major issue involving our public schools. teachers' unions in many large democrat-run cities say they will not go back into the classroom until they are vaccinated. but the current science -- the very science that president joe biden promised to follow -- shows that isn't necessary for a safe return to the classroom. here is the cdc chief, rochelle who eleven sky. >> i also want to be clear that there is increasing data to suggest that schools can safely reopen and that safe reopening does the not suggest that of

teachers need to be vaccinated in order to reopen safely. so while we are implementing the criteria of the advisory committee and of the state and local guidance to get vaccination across these eligible communities, i would also say that safe reopening of schools is not -- that vaccination of teachers is not a prerequisite for safe reopening of schools. lou: so there is the science. the word from the c, the c. cdc. and white house press secretary, what does she say? jen psaki said: the cdc comments are not official guidance. yes, they are. from the cdc. and today psaki said more money was needed to provide more masks and ventilation for schools. apparently, those comments from the cdc did influence city leaders in the san francisco. they filed a lawsuit against

recipient of the medical of freedom. great to have you with us. >> good to be with you, lou. lou: i have to ask, i have to ask to begin with -- >> uh-huh. lou: -- this is an apparent effort at absurdity on the part of the democrats, but it's a very serious matter. but the chief justice will not preside over the event. instead, you have a senator, pat leahy, who will also be a juror. the president himself is not in office, but the point of an impeachment is to remove a president from office. the absurdities mount after that. how in the world -- why in the world shouldn't the president just simply ignore these fools and the party of hate? >> yeah, i think you're right, lou. the president's going to win on constitutional grounds, on the lack of due process afforded him, and he's going to win on

the facts. how do you remove someone from office who's already left? how do you not have the chief justice preside? we're not talking about a sitting president. your right -- you're right, on a constitutional grounds it's a slam dunk case as evidenced by -- and you know that's where the senate members are at a because rand paul a offered his amendment a week and a half ago. constitutional grounds, he wins, lack of due process. this is impeachment by reflex. it was a two hour debate. at least when adam schiff did his impeachment a year and a half ago, the ridiculous impeachment hoax, at least there was sweep thats, depositions -- subpoenas, depositions and hearings. that looked like real due process compared to what they're doing now, and we know how bad that was. and then finally, there's the facts. how do you incite a riot that was already planned? how do you incite a riot when you said peacefully e and patriotically make your voices heard which is just fundamental, consistent with the first amendment? so on the facts he wins, on the

due process he wins, on the constitution, the president wins. finish but this is an obsession, as you know, lou, with these guys. they started trying to remove president trump from office before he got there, now they're trying to remove him after he's left because that's all they've focused on for the last four and a half years. lou: and they've gotten away with it, and they continue to do it. and part of the reason, as you know well, because you are one of the president's greatest defender and defenders of the constitution, it's because of the republican party. its meek and timid ways. and so much of the party obligated to masters on k street and who don't differentiate themselves whatsoever from the democrat party. we saw it in this conference last night of the republican party. marjorie taylor greene gets a standing ovation, i understand,

while you retain liz chain who voted to impeach -- liz cheney who voted to impeach the president of the united states as a member of leadership. cheney, remarkably unpopular with her constituents. marjorie taylor greene is wildly popular with hers. what is wrong with your party in. >> well, here's the big takeaway, i think, lou, when it comes to congresswoman greene. i mean, who's next? who's the cancel culture going to go after next? you know, it never stops. i said this tree weeks ago on the house floor, i said to the democrats when we were debating the impeachment resolution, i said don't think this cancel culture won't come for you too. it won't just focus on conservatives and republicans, it'll come for all of us. that's how bad this mindset is. and it took all of 13 days for that to come true. because what happened last week? the san francisco school board said we will no longer have the dianne feinstein elementary school. no longer will that be named

after senator feinstein. even a liberal icon like senator feinstein wasn't good enough for the woke mob because of something she said 37 years ago. that's how destructive and terrible and crazy this direction the democrats want to go and the cancel culture wants to go. so that, to me, is the biggest takeaway from this whole issue of congresswoman greene. and, you're right, she gave a great speech in the conference yesterday, and she did get a standing ovation from the members because of how she said it and what she conveyed. and americans hate this double standard. you think about this, lou, the guy -- the head of the democrat, the democrat chairman of the rules committee who kicked off today's debate against marjorie taylor greene, jim mcgovern, four years ago, january 6, 2017, he was of the very first objector to president trump's win. and guess which state he objected to? he objected to the state of alabama, a state president trump won by 30 points. and his whole reason was -- talk about conspiracy theories, which

that is truly the title of his book, how about the beautiful money he got from burisma? i have a lot of questions i hope hunter biden answers in the book. we hear this story is going to be about how he overcame addiction. i'm sure that'll make a great book, but in the midst of his addiction, he was well enough to scheme on how to cash in on his father. and i just remind everybody of one document you and i talked about on this show about a month ago. there is a document from april of 2014 where joe biden is about to go to ukraine for the first time as chief of ukraine policy, and hunter biden is well enough to scheme with his business partner on how they're going to get burisma to hire him as a consultant before his dad gets on the ground. and then when his dad gives a speech, he takes credit for some of the language that was beneficial for his natural gas client, burisma. he may have been under the

addiction of drugs and other things, but he was well enough to make a lot of money on his father's watch. lou: well, there may have been just a general and broad addiction issue across all of those players in the ukraine corruption scandal, the china corruption scandal for all we know. that just adds to the mystery of it all as to why anyone would tolerate the conduct, the conduct of these people in public life and with their families. there's a wonderful quote from frank biden, from the vice president then, president now, ad monoishing his brother to just basically, you know, take it down a notch here. [laughter] >> yeah. lou: concerns about the family business. for christ's sake, watch yourself. don't get sucked into something that would, first of all, hurt you.

>> yeah. lou: i guess -- [laughter] give us a sense of the context of that and how successful that -- >> it wasn't very successful because the whole family -- yeah. it wasn't very successful because the whole family continued to look for deals anywhere in the world where foreign despots or foreign companies were looking to cash in. and let's keep in mind there was a moment in 2015 where george kent, the democrats' star ill. peachment witness -- impeachment went, wanted to approach joe biden and say, listen, your son's undercutting our corruption effort, and joe biden's team wouldn't even listen to it. as the obama/biden team was leaving office in november 206, george kent wrote an e-mail saying we need to tell joe biden just how much hunter biden undercut american policy in ukraine. this wasn't just about getting rich, it was about hurting american policy in ukraine. lou: and that documentation of

all of that, so many documents concerning spygate and the insistence on transparency in the final days of the trump administration, you were working diligently to put together that reporting, and the white house failed to deliver those documents and still hasn't, as i understand it, to this day. >> that's right. they really let the president down. the president signed an order before he left office, he declassified a binder about 15, 17 inches thick. i have a full listing of what the documents are that he declassified. only about 15% of those have been released or made public since the declassification. major, major documents are sitting there, and i don't know if anyone has the time or courage to release them now. i'm very worried that the president's declassification order has been thwarted.

what could we get? we could get the unredacted fisa warrants. i know what's in them. let's get those out. we have all the handling documents for stefan halper and christopher steele. we owe it to the american people, and it would be a crying shame that now two, more than two weeks, two weeks and two days after president trump signed the order declassifying these they have not been released. his own team has are let him down. lou: and in that regard, two weeks and two days, it's -- with the president, the former president facing impeachment, his team, i'm sure, is concerned and working on that effort to defend him. >> sure. lou: but put in context for us just how complicated a matter it would be to turn over those documents, let's say, to you. just a straight forward -- >> once they're declassified --

from afar. but not a single government came to their aid. not the united states government, not the united nations, not europe, not anybody. it's really an appalling moment in our collective history, if you will, that we -- no one stood up for those people, don't you think? >> oh, certainly. and clearly we're seeing right now a number of governments with second thoughts because they're now starting to come around. we're seeing this with calls in congress for granting asylum to certain hong kong people, and the same thing is happening, of course, in the u.k. which is now with its passport scheme granting a asylum to many people from hong kong. but we need to do much more. the trump administration did a number of things which were really good with its hong kong freedom and democracy act. so i think that we will see over the next couple years or so a number of countries actually stand with the people in hong

kong. >> well, let's turn to the uss mccain going through the strait of taiwan. the chinese saying that, in point of fact, that they will -- they are preparing for war. why is the biden administration being so tunneled in responding to those -- timid in responding to those statements? >> well, i think it's really because the biden administration really wants cooperative relations with beijing. they talk about climate change, about cooperation on coronavirus, and they don't want to irritate chinese adepress sores. and we've got to remember that on january 23 china actually promised with its h6k bombers which are nuclear capable. they practiced an attack on the theodore roosevelt carrier strike group. lou: so are you saying you understand the reticence of the
