greg abbott, that the biden administration is enabling and enriching drug and human trafficking cartels. watch governor abbott here. >> what the border patrol told me, this is actually part of the cartel strategy, because of the volume of people coming across the border, the border patrol makes arrests have to engage literally in babysitting. while they're doing babysitting that provides an opportunity for the cartels to be able to bring other people across the border illegally. elizabeth: what do you say, tom? >> absolutely correct. i've been saying that for the last two years. the cartels, they manage where these groups go. they will send a group of 200 family units to one area. while the border patrol is tied up with the family groups, changing diapers, making baby formula, they're running opioids, narcotics, ms-13 members that don't want to be caught to the unguarded border.

nation on thursday. he will talk about covid. we have a crisis on the border. what do you think of the crime aspect of this? >> look, the president has to talk about this. you talked with tom homan. everything he said was spot on. what we're seeing here right now is a complete lockdown with respect to the reality what happened. that is also done by design. this, when i was commissioner i was engaged with the media constantly. i was holding formal press conferences every single month we would go into detail what numbers. i was taking questions from the right, from the left. sometimes softball, sometimes very difficult hard questions. now that has been completely locked down. they're doing this by design because they know, they're trying to take time, bide time to spin it. why? because as tom homan said this, is self-inflicted crisis. they're lying to the american people about it. it is getting worse by the day. they're trying to cover it up spin it to hide it from the american people. so the president has to mention it in his speech. elizabeth: he has yet to hold a

"the squad," aclu, elizabeth warren really going at it under trump at the border. this is u.s. taxpayer money at work. what are we paying for at these shelters with overcrowding? we have got a superspreader threat there. will the president address that do you think on thursday night? >> look, first of all, let's just talk about illegal immigration to begin with. we're in a crisis regardless, right? but you put, you put covid on top of that, we have multiple facilities in the southwest border already overcapacity. hhs is already overcapacity but now under the biden administration it is okay to violate the sciences data, experts and go beyond total capacity. meanwhile at border patrol stations there are 6,000 in

the deaths of covid-19 nursing home residents from covid-19 and potentially intention to obstruct justice. elizabeth: okay. so, he was lauded and applauded by the international media and by democrats as the next presidential contender, for his pressers last year, thought to be straight-shooter, kind of events, went behind the scenes. he was covering up covid-19 nursing home deaths and sexually, allegedly sexually harassing state workers under his, under his purview. so publishing no plans to reprint or publish his book on leadership. he said to want a spot in the biden administration. that is why he wrote the book. what do you think of this angle of the story? >> i think the context for when he started talking about potentially writing a book, it was right around the time that we were looking for answers for

"wall street journal" couple days ago broke that a second floor was defending march 25th mandate, putting covid positive patients into nursing facilities. when you look at the timeline when he started writing a book, that is a question that merits an investigation, he should come clean how the book deal will come about. he said he would give a portion to some charity benefiting covid-19. i hope he does. transparency is very important. sunshine is the best disinfectant. right now it is in his interest to come clean about the book deal. elizabeth: at that time he is writing the book, the cuomo team was rewriting that july internal report that basically undercounted covid-19 nursing home deaths tied to his executive order, putting

single federal worker in washington, d.c., somebody will challenge me on this i'm sure, i don't know a single one that didn't get paid because of covid. we have too many people in this country who have just spent a year struggling to pay their bills and to figure out how are they going to work, how are we going to make money? if you work for the government, whether it is in sacramento, whether it is in the nation's capital, you didn't have to worry about any of that. you continued to get paid and you got your covid relief checks on top of that. you never had to worry about where your money was coming from. the idea that we're going to just make government bigger and not try to understand that the decisions to shut down the government and to give people a little bit of, little checks, all of those decisions are done by people that never missed a paycheck through covid. think about that. they're making decisions about

shutting down, gavin newsom for instance. he is shutting down the economy. he never missed a paycheck. none of his friends missed a paycheck. yet, we still here in california are not able to go inside of a restaurant and eat. elizabeth: yeah. the bill is so sloppily written, would let federal government workers get up to 21,000 a year for not working even if their child's student is not in college. already nearly 80 federal government agencies give federal workers month 1/2 time off paid. so i mean, we're looking at thissing, we're astonished. you probably saw the story about the los angeles teachers union telling and warning teachers don't post images on your vacation if you're on spring break. we're still fighting to reopen schools until our demands are met. your reaction to that story? >> the assumption that the teachers are going on spring break going away from their home. that is what's ridiculous.

in this chat group there is this literal assumption that we're all going to go take our spring breaks, go somewhere else, go on vacation because we don't have to be in the classroom. while you're doing that, make sure you keep up the facade that you know, you're not on vacation. so don't post any pictures. this is, you know, a real joke that is going on. i think that going back to your previous story, liz, you know, when we have a shrinking of the economy, a closing of the economy, we really need to think about, in the same vain vein trying to shrink government workers and bureaucracy. if we don't have the same economy, we don't have the same freedoms for the private sector, it goes without saying that government agencies should also have to kind of cut and constrict. that is, that is just the practical aspect of having a government that serves the people.

♪. elizabeth: did you see this? more states saying get out of here with these arbitrary ad hoc lockdown orders. wyoming joining texas and mississippi, fully reopening. south dakota, arkansas, iowa, missouri, florida, opening already. they're in business, doing it. let's welcome fox news contributor joe concha. joe, we love having you on. dr. fauci now raising eyebrows saying wait a second, there is a lot of divisiveness in that political ideology is ruining public health decisions. what do you say? >> i say follow the numbers, right? let's follow the data. if we're talking to dr. fauci who always says follow the numbers, listen to the scientists, follow the data. i always look to that as the example of a state that has an older population than new york, for example. has four major cities compared to new york which has i guess two, buffalo, new york, you throw in a third, fine. has a larger population as well. so you compare those two states.

ron desantis, the republican governor, opened everything up down there fairly early. basically last may. and kids have been going to school and businesses and restaurants have been open, they have 17,000 less deaths than new york which is a state completely shut down. new york is second in the country in the in total deaths behind one state which is california which has been primarily locked down. when i look at states that opened and ones stayed primarily closed the data tells me being open is better, getting people out is better because most of the transmission of this virus happens in the home, not say in restaurants where i think the transmission rate, elizabeth is 1.3% of all cases. so what are we talking about here? elizabeth: it is an important point you just made. health officials say still wear masks, still social distance. it is about not having it cemented in concrete and in stone. we're seeing the cove trade rate of infections dropping to its

lowest level since a year ago and we're seeing basically 90 million now getting vaccinated but dr. fauci is really upset with the way things are headed. you know, he has been criticized for flip-flopping, joe. let's revisit what the criticism has been about dr. fauci. watch this. >> okay. >> right now the risk to americans is really low. it could really explode into something much bigger. right now at this moment, there is no need to change anything that you're doing on a day-by-day basis. >> right now we're seeing all of these school closures around the country, is that the right move for children and families? >> when i think what is going on right now is generally an appropriate approach. close the bars and keep schools open what we really say. right now people should not be, no reason to be walking around with a mask. this is a physical covering to

prevent droplets and virus to get in. if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on it makes common sense. elizabeth: we're not here to bash dr. fauci. it has been pretty confusing. what do you say, joe? >> those are his own words, right? don't wear a mask. okay, no, couple months later wear a mask. then just too long ago wear two masks because he says it makes common sense. if it made common sense why wouldn't that be the recommendation in the first place? he also said in march of last year, march 9th, i believe it was that young people, young and healthy can go on cruise ships. we see that was wrong as well. everybody basically has got it wrong throughout this pandemic, elizabeth. so again we're not picking on dr. fauci. the problem is that his media diet, he can't meet a microphone he can say no to. he is out there every day giving all these mixed messages. he is the face basically of the medical side in terms of the fight against covid.
