state law enforcement in texas to clean up this mess. i tell you right now, you look at our fence out here, i bet you it was more difficult to get into this press conference than it is at our southern border. elizabeth: that was texas congressman, former sheriff, troy nehls. other republicans blasting president biden's handling of the border crisis. with us now is texas attorney general ken paxton. great to see you. let's get right at it. we begin with reuters rather, reporting that mexico is warning the biden administration is enabling, intensifying border crimes by drug and human traffickers. your reaction to that story? >> it is deja vu all over again. this happened during the obama administration. president trump, came in, cleaned it up. started putting up a wall. started encouraging border security an enforcement and it worked. president invited people openly to come.

we're back where we were four years ago with more crime, more human trafficking, more drug trafficking and covid to deal with as well. elizabeth: we have even democrats privately admitting president trump made the border safer. senators ted cruz, josh hawley, biden is basically pulling border officials away when border patrol was forced to shut down highway checkpoints in arizona to catch criminals drug and human traffickers. reuters is reporting that basically, drug cartels, human trafficking gangs is putting the biden administration way behind the eight ball. they're using technology to attack the border. they're setting up fake travel agencies to do human smuggling. they're targeting migrants to recruit them to do human smuggling and become drug mules. so is the biden administration behind the eight ball right now? >> absolutely this is becoming a human tragedy overnight. it will quickly grow into a

bicker human tragedy. the very crimes will affect people coming up here. affect the people on the border. as it spreads across the united states, it will affect americans across this country. there is no good upside on this. this is a real disaster. elizabeth: even then vice president biden warned in 2014 don't come here illegally. he said it when he was on a tour of guatemala. he said you will be physically and sexually assaulted if you try to come here illegally. you will be extorted by drug gangs, human smugglers, recruited and pulled into the drug and human trafficking gangs. what happened over the last seven years now we're not hearing that information? >> you know the tug from the far left. it makes no sense. it doesn't benefit the american people. there is no upside to the people coming right now. they're in tremendous danger. then, when you consider just the risk of covid spreading and we're slowly getting that under control. now we have people crossing the border. we have no idea what their health status is and apparently

don't care what the health status is, although that was the most important administration in the biden administration coming in. elizabeth: good to see you ken paxton. thank you for joining us. wait, one more question for you. we have a question for you. >> sure. elizabeth: here is the thing, biden said up to 80% of border-crossers rely on human smugglers. he said that in 2014. is that still the case? >> i don't know we have the most updated statistics. it is not surprised if the numbers haven't changed that much. they use the same tactics and much more sophisticated with technology. and other foreign countries are pushing drugs including china. it wouldn't surprise me if those numbers are similar today. elizabeth: sir, we want to switch topics quickly. you said you will sue travis county and austin, texas, if they don't remove the local mandate by 7:00 p.m. eastern time. that is less than an hour away?

>> i don't think we heard good news from them. we will absolutely sue them. the governor released us from the mask mandate. the city of austin has no authority to continue that mask mandate. we'll definitely sue them if they do not comply with state law. elizabeth: we're staying on that fight between you and the city of texas and travis county. thank you, sir, for joining us, ken paxton. good to see you. >> good to see you. elizabeth: let's bring in sheriff wayne ivy of brevard county, florida. sheriff, the reaction reporting that mexico warning the biden administration and the vice president back in 2014 agreeing with what mexico is saying now? >> elizabeth, right now, americans should be outraged across the country what is happening at our borders. it doesn't stop at the borders. it filters into every community. it is unbelievable what has taken place. elizabeth: okay. right now we're heading, trending on, we're seeing new border statistics coming up. it is up 28%, border crossings

from january to february. we were talking 1.2 million annualized trying to cross the border. the trump administration was transparent. the trump team was now, is not being applauded for being tough on the border being safe about it. sir, i would like your reaction to the press secretary jen psaki refusing to answer reporters basic questions even about the numbers. watch this. >> why won't you confirm that number? that is a very important number. >> i, we've been very clear that there is an increase, that there are more children coming across the border than we have facilities are at this point in time. those numbers are tracked by department of homeland security. i suggest you talk to them. >> we talked to them, general. they won't confirm the number. >> i suggest you go back to talk to them. we won't confirm the number.

elizabeth: you can't get numbers out of the white house when the drug cartels and human traffickers are using technology and fake travel agencies to bring people across the border? you can't get numbers from the press secretary. >> the only reason you hide facts because the truth you don't want anybody to see. the truth is open borders are bad for our country and law and order foundation. they're bad all around. we have to stop it. in fact that is why sheriffs from across the country have joined together with protect america now to make sure that we're standing up for not only the constitution but for law and order in this country. it is outrageous what is taking place. elizabeth: you know, now we're seeing, you know, states like florida, arizona, montana, suing because of things like releasing criminal illegal aliens into the, into the u.s. society. you know, i.c.e. has been handcuffed, 90% of their authority has been taken away to

make arrests. are you seeing the effects of that from where you sit? >> absolutely. every community is seeing the effects of it. it doesn't just stop at the border. we're very blessed to have attorney general ashley moody here in florida is taking the biden administration to task. she is going after this executive order and, it is taking away from detainers of violent criminals, drug dealers. we go out arrest them, put them in our jails. we've been working very well with the feds on this initiative and now all of sudden we have to let them go right back into the communities and right back to victimizing people. elizabeth: yeah. i mean, we're seeing the criminal cartels south of the border using sophisticated technology to basically try to breach the border. we've got democrats though, playing politics with the border, stuck in denial, stuck in word games. stuck in semantics. democrat representative, for example, joaquin castro said yesterday to msnbc, don't call

it a crisis because the republicans will use it to fear-monger. we're talking about thousands of people in this country victimized by criminal illegal alien crime. the u.s. is a humanitarian country, sheriff. we support immigration. take on tony gonzalez says, says, worse than people realize. sheriff, listen to this. >> john the border crisis is worse than people realize. my district is over 800 miles of border. i'm on the border every single week. this is what i'm seeing. i was just in theresa springs at unaccompanied minor facility. it was busting at the seams. within days it was overcapacity. a lot has to do with the new administration's look at not being active on the border. elizabeth: why is it worse than realized? where is hollywood, where is the aclu, where is the "squad," where are the democrats? they ripped into trump for this but trump made the border safer.

though he often sparred with reporters, president donald trump and the press, now we have one press wants to treat with kid gloves. he is not able to go out there because mainly the staff won't let him. i unfortunately think there will not be pushback. maybe people in the country are sick of constant politics and certainly the press is not pushing him and absent campaigner is the absent president and see "the new york times" passed right over it. elizabeth: is biden reluctant to talk to the press or his staff doesn't want him to talk? because he will do another scripted talk to the nation tomorrow night. and now we have vice president harris taking calls from world leaders. this time from norway. she talked to leaders of israel, canada, and france. who exactly is doing this, who is running the show? >> i, seems to be the rumors here in d.c. are that the staff is the main cause. biden has shown an openness at times to wanting to talk to the press while his handlers pushed

inappropriate. the phone call to my friend ron kim, that is unfortunately the way this office operated in the last decade. elizabeth: new york taxpayers didn't pay for this kind of behavior. they don't pay salaries of spokesmen to behave like this, to interfere and pressure women who are accusing state elected official of, of sexual harrassment. so is this going to be added to the impeachment resolution, do you think? because he is accused of obstructing the doj in their probe into covid-19 nursing home deaths connected to his order. as you pointed out, state lawmaker ron kim, cuomo accused of bullying and threatening him. now he is, now he is accused of trying to do a smear campaign against another accuser, lindsey boylan, that is the new yorker magazine reporting that. what is going on here, will this be added to the impeachment resolution? >> that is certainly something we would look at doing.

going back a few weeks ago we originally proposed a impeachment commission, focused on the nursing homes but as the sexual allegations have come out we added that to the mix. this past monday we introduced this impeachment resolution. i think all of these things have to be put in there, it really shows just all around just the lack of, you know, trust that we should have in the executive at this point f they're going to conduct themselves this way with somebody who is alleging sexual harrassment, inappropriate sexual behavior what would they not do? >> yeah. so you're saying, it should be put into the impeachment resolution. so that, you're making news right there. let's listen to cuomo's accuser ana liss explain what happened when cuomo's spokesman, rich asparte phoned her out of the blue on her honeymoon. watch this. >> i'm saying it was not a safe

space for women to work. he said i have a kind of an awkward question. has lindsey boylan reached out to you? have you spoken to her. i said, no. and then when he hung up i remember thinking, how many other people is he calling? elizabeth: who else did the spokesman call? is that his job? is that what taxpayers pay him to do, is to pressure and influence women who are involved in a sexual harrassment allegation that is now being investigated by the state attorney general office? is that what, is that his job? is that what he is supposed to be doing? >> certainly not. and i would say, you know, i have colleagues on the other side of the aisle who have been saying hey, let the attorney general's investigation play out, see what happens. it is premature to call for resignation. here is a perfect example why we need to act now. if the governor is not going to resign we should take action and begin impeachment proceedings

because clearly you know they're going to try to interfere. elizabeth: yeah. we also are showing that the cuomo administration ordered homes for the disabled to take back in covid-19 patients recovering patients and they never rescinded that order. so that is still stands. disabled people at risk. assemblyman, thanks for joining us. for her reaction bring back on columnist and author kristin tate. kristin, we have the strong-arming of it looks like sexual harrassment accuser ana liss. we have "the new yorker" magazine reporting that someone in the cuomo administration is trying to smear lindsay boylan. when she went public last december, they released her personal records to the media. >> this story gets worse and worse. if andrew cuomo was a republican governor, every democrat on down would be demanding his resignation and removal of

office. they would treat him the same way as they did with brett kavanaugh with zero respect and due process. they tried to destroy his life, humiliate his family with decades allegations, they went through every yearbook photo or every claim and believed every clam no matter how absurd. the democrat standard has never believe all women. it was always believe all women unless they are accusing our own. accusers of bill clinton, joe biden were rhett puttable and treated. they were basically tossed aside and ignored. some new york democrats are calling for cuomo to be thrown out of office. on the national level many prominent democrats have remained silent. kamala harris. she was one of the most passionate anti-kavanaugh voices. she hasn't made a peep about the como accusations. nancy pelosi and biden, they still have not said they would support an effort to remove him

either. elizabeth: the double standards are stunning, kristin, you pointed out. kristin, you pointed out, yes, due process but governor cuomo said no one told him at the time he was being inappropriate. he signed a sexual harrassment law two years ago. his staffers go through sexual harrassment training to know that certain things are wrong. so it is not sexual harrassment unless someone tells you? >> i mean it is just ridiculous the excuses being made but this really should not surprise anyone. cuomo has shown a shocking amount of arrogance throughout the last year. not just with the sexual harrassment scandal but with the nursing home scandal as well. we know? that 15,000 elderly people died in nursing homes. he wrote a book praising himself for his covid handling. meanwhile he was going on cable networks like cnn, his own brother's show, engaging in banter, making light of a
