the state should've been on lockdown and beginning to open up. receding entrancing greater growth in that regard. i think the tax policies will have a devastating impact on the real estate industry overall. i don't think it's likely to get through congress because i think it ends up making states like california and new york very uncompetitive, the early struggling to compete with places like texas, ford, tennessee and it will be more difficult under these circumstances with increasing the federal taxes. maria: i think we have to look at the u.s. tax rate compared to the rest of the world also. a corporate rate is essential in terms of being competitive, the corporate rate that is competitive with the rest of the world is essential but what gets me is the capital gains tax increase. you talk about cap gains from 20% all the way to 43.4% for the highest earners because of the double and you have to add in

the 3.8% obamacare tax. that obviously is going to dictate behavior, are you going to sell your home this year while you get a 20% cap gains or next year and have to pay 43.4% to the government. tell me what happens if that goes through? >> i think if that happens, first of all there will be a massive selloff in the real estate market this year which will ultimately have a chilling effect on value in moving value other ways. there will be a greater flight to places like florida, nevada, texas, tennessee where there's no state income tax to get these rates down. were talking about 150% increase in the basic premise that they invest in longer-term real estate is that they factor in the after-tax return on investment and to compete with

development of a condo versus rental housing, investors look to protect our dollar. it will take money out of the production of rental houses which are cities like new york and others around the country need more production of rental housing. it'll have a devastating impact on that. it'll have a negative impact further digging a hole for new york city with regard to residential condo, but more importantly office buildings as well. not a good thing, i hope, i don't think it gets through as is proposed, 115% tax increase on investment income would be devastating to all sectors of business. maria: tell me about office buildings because office buildings have already seen a huge upset because of the pandemic. employees do not want to go back to walking into a big building and having to go and work rather

than splitting their time working from home. will this exacerbate that, what is your take on the office in the in terms of commercial real estate right now. >> you can see tax policy and political regulatory policy having an impact to do is contrast in new york city to florida to south florida, new york city is a record amount of vacancy in the office space on being put on the market for office space, south florida for example is having a shortage of available office space, a shortage of public space, lowest members of availability in a very long time, all because of the migration, the housing market in south florida is booming and also the market, from the middle income property all the way to the election, that shift is happening because

people coming into i said it's gotta stop, i asked how much do we pay them, 500, we pay them $500 million a year, that's a lot of money, split among three countries, i said were not making any more payments, the following day i had a deal where they take back all the criminals and we sent back ms 13 another criminals by the thousands. they said they will take them back, we would be glad to take back ms 13, as soon as i stop the money. now what they're doing instead of 500 million they will give them as much as $4 billion, they're not going to know what to do with all that money. they never had money like that given to them. so were giving them $4 billion,

the people ready the country are going to have a field day like they never had before. i was giving them nothing, they took back everybody that we wanted, they were clogging up airports, making it impossible for buses to come in with these people and they took back, as soon as they stop the money, they called me and said what can i do, you have to take back all these terminals they are your problem, not our problem and they took them back, as soon as i stop now, according to what i'm hearing, biden wants to give them not 500 million but more money than they ever thought possible. why are we doing this, now he is going to give them $4 billion, this is crazy. maria: kamala harris said in an interview they inherited the crisis and her answer to it is to send 310 million to the

maria: more for my interview from president trump, here's what he said about the tax and spending plan. >> it'll be the largest tax increase in the history of our country and when you say it won't affect middle-class, middle-class has 401ks and when you look at the capital gains tax, that's going to have a massive impact on the middle-class, it's also going to have a massive impact to companies leaving our country, they all came back with me, the companies were pouring back into our country, we produce more jobs than anybody in the history of our country, 160 million jobs, we were never close to that number, we produced more from the african-american to hispanic americans to anybody, asians, women, the highest number of jobs in history, then we did it again, he would not be

doing well right now if we didn't rebuild, our country was booming because we did a great job on covid and get no credit between the ventilators and the equipment in the masks and everything else, nobody had this stuff, we got it stocked up, we helped the states, the governors of the states said we didn't incredible job, the fake news does not like saying that, doesn't play into their narrative. maria not only the vaccine, that the most upward thing of all, but we did a fantastic job in getting things out. but when you look at the biggest tax increase in history, that's gonna drive all that the companies in all of these jobs out of the united states it's a disaster. maria: that is one thing that we saw under the obama administration when we had a 35%

corporate rate, many american companies, acquired companies in ireland when there was a 9% corporate rate and we saw them take their headquarters there, that's my question, what is the impact of 43.4% capital gains tax, you sell your home and portfolio in your given 43.4% to the government if you're in the highest earnings bracket in the capital gains tax in the corporate tax and individual taxes was still not clear, president biden has not made clear whether it's 400,000 for families or 400,000 for individuals, this is a very important point but these sort of muddy adapt, and they don't know the answer. regardless of your overturning your tax-cut plan of 2017, everybody's taxes are going up, what kind of an impact would you expect on the economy and the stock market. >> i got approved the largest tax decrease in the history of our country, bigger than ronald reagan decreased, this was the

biggest most powerful tax decrease it's a very important word in history of our country they're proposing the biggest tax increase is you talk capital gains you're not talking just so called wealthy people, you're talking about everybody, they buy a stock no matter what they do. you talk about everybody's can be affected by that, they're gonna be affected in a more important way, companies are going to leave this country, people that run these countries, many don't live here many are from other countries. but their loyalties to the shareholders and loyalties to the wallet. they will leave her so quickly if they can have another countrn to among the lower tax nations, not the lowest i couldn't get it down to that level but i very much would've worked on it. but among the lower tax nations in the large industrial nations of the lowest. now what they're doing, they're

gonna drive all of these companies up. you know this very well billions and trillions of dollars were not coming back into this country, trillions because the tax was so high and also the bureaucracy, the paperwork and everything else was so bad that trillions of dollars was out of this country that money was all hundreds of billions pouring back into her country when i did the tax bill when we got that approved, that was a tremendous thing, hundreds of billions of dollars, if you go by what they're doing, that money will never see the united states again. that is a tremendous number. maria: look i always say money is mobile, we have a graphic of all the race across the world. corporations can move individuals can move if their money is treated better somewhere else. we recognize that. but what i want to get your take on where we are in the economy,

even under your leadership before president biden came in the economy was beginning to turn, now we've got expectations that were gonna see gdp in the u.s. in 2021 mr. president of up to 9%. why do we need all of the spending, $6 trillion in spending in a month and a half and you've got an economy that may not need that. sure, people are happy if you throw money at them but at some point this comes home in terms of our debt. so where do you see the economy right now, does it take a hit with the spending at some point? >> the reason you see gdp is because the foundations that we built. it was something that was incredible, what will happen with the tax increases in the border with all these people pouring in, what will happen, you will start to see negative effects eventually. if you do tax increases like they're talking about and if you do other things, and never

happened so quickly but it will have a devastating impact ultimately down the road. that's what's going to happen and with all the spending a lot of the gdp in the stimulus or point into the economy, it is sort of fake when you look at it like the fake media, it is showing something that the economy is doing better than it is, they are not real numbers, also energy, we were energy independent, we will not be energy independent and a couple of months. for the first time energy independent, gasoline prices, look what's happening there going up to the roof in a short period of time. i had them down below $2 and we still had a strong energy industry. now they're laying everybody off, why did they lay them off, look at the pipeline the heads of the union should be fired because i was building the pipeline, it overrode the veto

of the previous administration. so i'm building the keystone pipeline, the dakota access pipeline, rebuilding all of that stuff and they come up and stop the keystone pipeline and other pipelines that are already built. all of the workers are out of business, the pipeline workers are out of business and their unions have always supported democrats. they supported biden, those union heads should be fired by all those people that don't have a job. if i were president right now they'd all be working like crazy of pipelines, environmentally much better than trains but warren buffett owns trains and he's a big democrat, maybe that has something to do with it. so stopping the keystone pipeline has nothing, absolutely nothing good for this country, now you have thousands and thousands, the real number is 49000 people. they like to say 8000, it is 49000 people ultimately and for them to stop that and think of

it, these people, i believe most of them voted for me but the heads of their union work for biden, those union heads for the keystone pipeline, those pipeline workers should fire anybody related to them should fire the heads of the union. in my opinion they must be corrupt because nobody can be so stupid. maria: i always question why anybody thinks it's safer to carry oil and gas on a real car versus a pipe under the sea. i think you make a really good point about the railcars. it seems like that could potentially see more mistakes in terms of carrying all of the oil on railcars versus under the sea. i think it's a really important point. maria: a pipeline is acknowledged to be much safer in railcars or trucks, much, much

not include the drug trafficking, the human trafficking that they do that they have greater access because the border patrol agents are busy taking care of the families coming across. maria: the vote tour is so effective because you can see how close is is, mexico to texas. if they're gonna dump a baby in the river, you guys are going to rescue the baby and then they just get it crossed. >> they will throw kids under the vote and our people go rescue them and they bring the rest of the people in safely to cross the border. maria: if you see this, you get it, bethea administration has not come down to see this. >> i don't think they want to draw attention to it because they realize they created this problem, they have discarded and the policies that obama plays that clearly did not work, they've adopted policies but they don't want to highlight to the american people. maria: what an incredible situation that we are witnessing on the ground. what you have to say in terms of where we are right now, let's

start there. >> it's a disaster i spent a lot of time talking to shares the have to deal with this and border patrol and customs and immigration and state police, it's a disaster and when you see these facilities and kids that are sitting there wondering what's going to happen, where are they going, they're all confined together with possibly spreading covid, it is a disaster. maria: we've been to a lot of these facilities, you tried to visit the donna facility where many people including senator ted cruz and other senators have told us that the capacity because of covid is 250 people there's more than 4000 people in the facility, what happened when you went there. >> we were turned down. maria: you're the attorney general, you were turned down. >> they do not want me too see the donna facility, that is straight from officials in washington because of covid i shouldn't be allowed into the facility. maria: that's incredible, here is the vice president said one answer would be to send

$310 million to the northern triangle countries. what do you think about the answer, send the money to encourage them not to come. >> i would rather send that to the border here and help people here then oppose of sending it there, it'll be lost to politicians and drug cartels, that is a loss of money an opportunity to help people in texas. maria: the department of homeland security say it will launch a new operation to combat trafficking and smuggling at the border. this will be led by custom and border protection according to dhs protection allie hand german orchids. >> that doesn't make sense either, they are still occupied by dealing with immigrants coming in here they cannot do that job. they have a high percentage of the people working at these facilities doing logistics and transportation so they're not on the border, the cartels no that it is open for business, if anybody's making a lot of money into cartels, they are charging these people $4000 per person to come appear in their making

places, they had a much relaxed policy and yet they had far fewer deaths relatively speaking, farmer economic success, new york has been so badly hurt, it's gonna take a long time to recover. california was so badly hurt, these places some of the places has never been any place that was tougher than michigan and michigan had an outbreak, the likes of which you haven't seen since the very beginning. , it is very sad when you look on television last night, they could've had fewer people in the room and then a packed room that i had, i understand that but to have a room that was so sparse and everybody wearing masks and they all got the shots, but they all have masks, it doesn't show very much confidence they want
