economy. and we're learning from the figures that the truth is that the state has have opened up, they have no more virus cases. in many situations far less virus cases than the ones still in lock down. so clearly it is time to start living again. i hear people, liz, say, gosh, more people ought to take the vaccine? well probably they would if they thought they were going to be consequences that they could live but if they're told they will still have to have a hot dog with two people in their backyard and stay eight feet apart from each other, they will just say, why bother? let me just say this, we keep hear about follow the science. i think people on the left are following the science. the political science but not the real science. elizabeth: that's interesting because you know we do have 16 states still having problems with covid but you're saying this is a story about common sense what works, what doesn't. a year ago, you and i talked

about this, 310 million americans faced some sort of a shutdown but now even disneyland reopening about 300 days after disney world. did you see this, governor? even in wuhan, china, where the virus is believed to have come from, thousands attended a wuhan music festival. they're doing it in china? >> that ought to say a lot, shouldn't it? of course we're going to be careful. i'm careful so i don't get the regular flu or pneumonia or the common cold. i'm not stupid but i'm not going to live the rest of my life wearing a hood over my head because i'm scared to death to take a breath because somebody next to me might have the common cold. taking the vaccine. i'm done it. now i'm going to live. i think it is time america starts recognizing that we live in a land of liberty, not a land of oppression and i really think the great revelation of all of this is that the states were the tightest lockdowns are the ones that are having the hardest time

coming out of those high covid numbers. elizabeth: yeah. we hear you. we understand, everybody knows it is really dangerous. this virus is more fatal than the flu. you know, but now we see the debate is, should we really have shut down a little mom-and-pop fruit stands or the dry cleaner? would that have really stopped covid-19. 1.4% of cases here in bars and restaurants in other states? the mayor of washington, d.c., muriel bowser banning dancing at outdoor weddings. brooklyn, massachusetts says you have to wear masks outdoor. they are overruling the cdc guidance you don't need masks outdoors unless you're in gatherings? what is going on here? why do they still have emergency powers if they're overruling the cdc? >> large use of emergency powers is clearly unconstitution small.

an emergency doesn't last forever. the reason mayor bowser she is banning dancing, we found out she must be an old time baptist. this is her way of keeping the baptists ever moving their feet. god knows it might be terrible if they started dancing, who knows what might break out. it is that kind of stuff, liz, honestly embarrassing to hear people say go to the wedding but you can't dance with anybody. you can have a birthday party, but don't eat the same piece of cake or eat a piece of cake from the same cake somebody else had. this is what's nuts. you know, we're told don't go to the beach. the beach is safest place there is out in the sunshine. covid can't live in the sunshine and it doesn't do well transmitting outdoors. so why don't we tell people, get outdoors? if you're going to run and take a cross-country run, for heaven's sake take off your mask the oxygen deprivation of wearing a mask while you're run something a whole lot more

good to have you on. contract dc says if you're vaccinated you don't need to wear a mask outside. critics saying president biden will do his patriotic duty to wear a mask outside still even though he got vaccinated? is that a sending a wrong message about vaccines when we need to get to herd immunity and get back to normal? >> that is the wrong guidance. cdc said you can be outdoors with a small group of people if vaccinated or baseball game outdoors or athletic event outdoors. it doesn't make any sense. what you guys were talking about, in d.c. you can go to a wedding but you can't dance. the american people are over all these mask mandates and guidance coming from our own government that doesn't make any reasonable amount of sense and there is no factual basis, scientific basis to show that the lockdowns work. florida is example a of that evidence. look at the deaths in new york, they have had 20,000 more covid

deaths than we've had. california had 30,000 deaths more than we have. we've been open since school. our school has been in school. no mask mandates statewide in the state of florida. our businesses are open, if mask mandates and lockdowns work, you would see the completely opposite number here in florida. our numbers for covid would be skyrocketing versus numbers from california and new york and that is not what is occurring right now. elizabeth: okay. biden, by the way, president biden said as barack obama's running mate, it was quote, patriotic to pay higher taxes. setting that aside for a second, shut down, getting ahold of what is going on with the virus or reopen? do you target the vulnerable, meaning senior citizens and other people who have, you know, preexisting conditions, making themselves prone? because you know, now that the thing is, a whole lot of americans don't want to take vaccines. we see the president wearing a mask outside. that could threaten the overriding goal of getting america vaccinated. what do you say?

>> yeah. completely undermining their argument like rand paul and others have said. there should be some type of reward if you're going to get vaccinated you shouldn't have to wear a mask. the cdc should update guidance based on the fact that you have been vaccinated. to these taxes, why in the world will we institute the highest tax in the developed world, in the developed world on american citizens, american businesses at a time where most of these businesses are coming out of being locked down, coming out of covid-19? and in florida they find employees and staffing to staff their is business the right now. why in the world would we lob taxes on businesses trying to grind out, get out of being locked down because of covid the last year? elizabeth: biden and the democrats want to tax-and-spend away. they want to wipe out covid risk with taxing and spending. critics are saying they don't want to grow the economy. they want to grow the government and grow the irs.

funds, pork projects in the $6 trillion spending plans biden wants. what do you say, sir? >> only 6% of the 1.9 trillion actually went to covid relief in the last bill. the 2.3 trillion they want to spend on infrastructure only 4% of that would go to roads and bridges. only 2% to ports and waterway projects. everything else to different social programs, green new deal light, to all the different programs they want to put in place. in that bill is $400 billion for what governor christie is alluding to, to give $4 billion for the irs to investigate people skirting their taxes. it is crazy what is in these bills and not focused on rebuilding america in the way that we need to rebuild america by opening up the country up, letting the free market rein and not taxing our companies into oblivion. elizabeth: got it. congressman stuebe good to see you. he stood up for parents that are

text messages between members of the lowden county school board being at war with parents that want to reopen schools. what is going on here? >> look, someone went out and used the freedom of information act, asked for information on certain school board members. we got text messages back between them, saying they're at war with parents who are trying to open up schools. and to me, you should never be at war with your constituents. these are the people that you are asking to vote for you. you should be their voice and representation, not trying to tear them down. elizabeth: you're talking about being at war over something involving children? i mean these are elected officials that get paid by taxpayers. now we've got news that the biden administration is talking about, they're not committing whether to reopening schools in september. now they're talking about pfizer vaccinating 12-year-olds. what do you say to that? that is breaking news coming in. >> i hadn't heard yet.

i'm not overly surprised from the administration here. i don't expect anything to happen not already on their agenda. for them i think, this is not as much of a national issue as it is a state issue. what we really need is state and local officials to step up to be leaders. the federal side, they can pander and say everything they want but state and local officials are the ones that we need leadership from. look, biden is not the one making your tax bill change or setting the school district zoning. it is the state and local. elizabeth: yeah. we hear you. also this debate about children, whether they need to be vaccinated. you know science, certain scientists are saying yeah, children are vectors but that is going to be a new fight involving parents and their kids. so we'll stay on that one. we also have basically what is coming up is, james carville, he is talking about saying, listen, democrats, stop trying to trap the economy and america in a
