♪ dagen: our top story, president biden meeting with queen elizabeth and other world leaders at the g7 as the issues pile up here at home. fox's peter doocy is reporting live from cornwall, england. hey, peter. >> reporter: dagen, good evening from england. the biden team believes the key to global economic fairness is a new global economic minimum tax. they're explaining at 15% on corporations, might i add. they're explaining that they like it because of of this: we see this as a critical step towards ending the race to the bottom on corporate taxes that come at the expense of workers, at the expense of investments in domestic renewal and at the expense of growing the middle class. a senior biden administration official says a global minimum tax, they say, helps them make a foreign policy for the middle class. and that's been a huge focus of the group of seven's attempt to try to level the playing field after what they see as an uneven

recovery from covid-19. but just because the group the of seven endorses a global minimum tax does not mean it instantly becomes the law of the land in the u.s. world leaders talked about covid-19, they got a zoom call from an expert in gender equality, and if you add in climate change, you've got all the host wants to accomplish this week as he borrows the campaign slogan from joe biden. >> we're building back better together. building back greener and building back fairer and building back more equal and, how shall i -- in a more gender-neutral, perhaps a more feminine way. >> reporter: and sticking with the greener part of that, the group of seven and the queen of england just had dinner at one of the world's largest greenhouses which is here in england called eden place. the president and his motorcade

[laughter] >> well, having been on a few of those trips, you never really enjoy them. you're doing your domestic job while you're abroad, and while you're at home, you've got to worry about your international job. so the work never ends. let me just say, dagen, i don't know what to make out of what boris johnson just said about rebuilding in a more feminine way -- dagen: wait, i have the quote -- >> at least he did, at least he didn't say in a more birthing people's way. i have no idea what he means.

dagen: right. is he the leader of the labour party and i missed that somehow? he said using the build back better thing, he said, quote: greener, more gender-neutral and perhaps a more feminine way. >> yeah. dagen: what is going on? [laughter] >> i guess joe biden doesn't have jet lag, but he brought a lot of woke with him. i just -- why are they talking about this? the economies need to grow back for everybody. the world economy needs to get stronger. and, frankly, putting a minimum floor on taxes is not the way to do it. first, the g7 is the wrong group to do it. all their taxes are above the 15% rate. they have a vested interest in having everybody else match their high tax rates. the countries they're really talking about are ireland and hungary, and why would they go along when they're getting businesses to go to them because of their attractive tax rate? so the g7's the wrong group that

he's negotiating with, and it's just a bad idea to begin with in terms of growth. dagen: biden and company are trying to railroad these other nations into going along with his plan on raising taxes on corporations here. essentially the only way that that minimum tax makes sense. but back here at home, we have inflation, core inflation's running at about a 30-year high. spending and green agenda that is floundering and failing. the keystone pipeline gets killed. he's trying to destroy our energy economy. that's going to come back to bite him where the sun doesn't shine. and then you have spiking crime and a border crisis. so all this is going on here at home, and he's doing what? >> well, he's doing what presidents have to do, they have to travel abroad. but the issue here at home is how good is the economy, are we in trouble, is inflation back. and on inflation, i think you do have to just wait and see. the measurement is coming off of

a low point of covid when america was shut down. there are a lot of raw ingredients for inflation to come back particularly if the government keeps spending in the trillions the way the democrats have proposed9, but right now i wouldn't overreact, give it another month or two before you have a real measure. we know what works in this economy. prior to the pandemic with low taxes and low regulations, we had the lowest poverty rate since 1959 in america. the poverty rate for hispanics and african-americans was at a record low. unemployment at a record high. employment at a record high. this is what you want. you want a growing economy that helps all, particularly the most vulnerable. that is exactly what we had in 2018, '19, prior to the pandemic. why would we rush to reverse those successful policies? this is the fundamental mistake of the biden years. it's massive spending, massive growth in government with very little indication that it's going to help anybody, especially working collar, blue

collar, working class, blue collar in america. and you know this too, dagen, when you raise taxes on the rich, you end up soaking the middle class. it's happened every time. dagen: well, they came into -- biden and company came into office, and you've seen this even in acknowledging the wuhan lab leak. i don't want to -- the potential for one at least. if trump did it, it's evil are. and that seems to be the way that they're governing. and biden, by the way, in his budget plans on letting the trump tax cuts exe pyre, and that means -- expire, and that means a tax hike on lower and middle income individuals. so they can say one thing, but they're doing another, and their policies will have -- particularly with inflation -- have a direct impact and be harmful to the very people who can't afford it. >> one of the unknown stories of the trump years because the press just writes the simpleton story about tax cuts for the

rich is was how much taxes were cut for the poorest. these are huge changes for low income americans. the child credit increase. these wiped out the tax liabilities, frankly, for a lot of low and middle income americans. so terribly unfair coverage, and this is what joe biden, who said he wants to just raise taxes on those making 400,000 or more? he's going to hurt low income and working people. and again, off of a base pre-pandemic of record low unemployment and remarkably low poverty, why is he doing it? just because he wants to be the anti-trump. dagen: but, ari, one thing about biden and all of his cronies, they care deeply about not the people, but the polls. and there was this axios swing voter focus group that found only 3 of 13 voters felt the u.s. economy is booming.

only three. >> yeah. dagen: and one of the biggest concerns was inflation. >> and i still say you have to wait a month or two to see if this is really a trend. but inflation for those who remember it could wipe out a lifetime of savings. inflation is scary are. inflation hurts everybody, especially seniors. so i understand why that is a real concern. but, you know, the fundamental conceit of the biden years is he was barely elected, the election took father days to even figure out -- four days to even figure out, and yet he's running as though he has an overwhelming progressive mandate. he does not. he has a mandate to, actually, not just be like donald trump in terms of his temperament. he should be more like donald trump in terms of his policies. dagen: indeed, ari fleischer. have a terrific weekend, thank you so much for being here. >> thanks so much, dagen. dagen: take care. a national security threat.

covid unemployment fraud could top $400 billion, and now fox business is learning the money is being used for terrorism. hillary vaughn is on capitol hill with the latest. hey, hillary. >> reporter: hey, dagen. this is becoming a national security issue as experts say 250 billion of that stolen pandemic unemployment benefits have gone into the hands of criminals who are residing in other countries. lexus nexus ceo tells fox that 70% of unemployment fraud during the pandemic was snatched by criminals based in russia and china and other countries, and he believes that these criminal groups are acting with our adversaries' blessings. >> i don't think it's a coincidence that there's been an increase in these cyber attacks on our core businesses. i believe some of that funding came from the unemployment

♪♪ dagen: a war brewing in the democrat party. house democratic leadership turning on one another after congresswoman i'll hand to mar likened the u.s. and israel to terrorist groups. fox news' jacqui heinrich is on capitol hill with more. >> reporter: hey, dagen. house speak per nancy pelosi said that congresswoman ilhan omar will not face any action after she clarified that she was not equating democracies like the u.s. and israel to terror

groups like hamas and the taliban, but since then omar defended her question about the victims of, quote, u.s. and israeli abuses. and her allies in the squad have rushed to her defense and also lashed out at democratic leadership. it's prompting a question of whether omar could survive a republican push to strip omar of her seat on the house foreign affairs committee or democrats might defect and side with them. >> my general overview is there's a long history of comments here that i have found unacceptable and deeply concerning, and this just adds to the record. so, you know, am i satisfied? i'm just really frustrated by the continued series of comments targeted at the u.s./israel relationship. >> been quite disappoint9 that she and other members of the house have continued to double down. i think words matter, i think

some amount of discretion, you know, matters. >> reporter: congresswoman rashida tlaib tweeted: freedom of speech doesn't exist for muslim women in congress. house democratic leadership should be ashamed of its exclusive tone, and congresswoman pramila jayapal said we cannot ignore the echo chamber that has repeatedly attacked a black muslim woman in congress. democrats are not eager to turn this into a political game. they were happy that omar clarified what she meant, but there are concerns that comments like hers could create feelings of anti-semitism or a jaundiced view of the u.s. relationship with israel, a key ally in that region. dagen? dagen: thank you so much for that. joining me now to discuss is the independent women's forum director of the center for economic opportunity.

patrice, david harsanyi at the national review wrote that every time ilhan omar says something incendiary and/or idiotic, the fallout unfolds in the same way. first, they smear omar and her shrinking group of allies, i might add, they smear their critics, they claim islamophobia. and then they say you're inciting violence against them, essentially playing the victim to chill speech. but at the end of the day, this individual has said horrific, anti-semitic things over and over again, clearly illustrating that she hates the jewish people. >> well, dagen, yeah. the things that she's said are ridiculous. it's insulting to americans, to jewish-americans, to israel, our closest partner and ally in the region, and it's not surprising that she's doing so. she is flexing her power,

recognizing that, you know, the far left still holds some cards when it comes to the razor thin margin that democrats have in the house. so so they're going to push the boundaries a little bit more every single time. and what's also interesting is rashida tlaib, congresswoman threeb, talking about this being exclusive criticism against women of color in congress. well, hello, the four of them in the squad are not the only women of color in congress. and what's interesting is we never hear from a lot of those other people, perhaps other than maxine waters. because i do think their views are very fringe and ridiculous. and i do think nancy pelosi needs to rein them in even more, or they're going to continue to do this. dagen: and this has been going on, particularly from ilhan omar, for years and years and years. i just want to read exactly what she wrote on twitter. we must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against --

of humanity. we have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the u.s., hamas,s israel, afghanistan and the taliban. so the is in the same sentence, israel is in the same sentence as the taliban and hamas, a terrorist organization. if i go back to 2019, ilhan omar tweeted that support for israel in congress was all about the benjamins and anti-semitic trope. in 2012 on twitter she said israel has hypnotized the world. may allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of israel. hate is hate. but, patrice, i want to ask you about the lack -- you're talking about people will not in congress who are in her party will not speak out against what she says. the anti-semitic, anti-jewish people things that ilhan omar repeats over and and over again.

so isn't silence complicity? that is what the democrats always say. >> they absolutely always say that when it comes to racism. you know, if you don't say anything, then you are in agreement with that. so i would love to see the entire congressional black caucus come out and say, no, she's wrong, rashida tlaib is wrong, and these incendiary statements are absolutely wrong. and, you know, it's ironic, she leaves out company like somalia, her home country, other countries that are sponsors of terror, are killing their people, limiting the freedoms of speech and rights to women across the world, and yet this country -- our nation -- is the place that is, that's akin to those other terrorist nations? it's a disservice, you know? we we as americans, we embraced her family. she came here from somalia fleeing war, and it's sad to think that she's now turning around and comparing the people who embraced her and lumping them in together with murderers

and killers. i'm an immigrant, and i don't -- she does not stand for me, she does not speak for me, and she does not speak for many immigrants across this great country. dagen: as you said, silence is accepting the unacceptable, and you hear that from the left often, but they don't -- they have an inability to walk their own talk. before we go, we did have, it was about a dozen democrats who are jewish who came out and made a statement, spoke out against what congresswoman omar had to say. but are there divisions appearing within the democratic party that will really harm their agenda? you talked about that a little earlier. >> i think there are. we see episodes like this really exploit or expose some of those riffs that are, you know, under the rug right now. but when you look at biden's larger agenda, some of his action items, the things that he wants to get done, things that are going to hurt moderate

the ship, are asymptomatic and currently in isolation while being monitored by a medical team. here now, c. marc siegel -- dr. marc siegel, professor of medicine and fox contributor as well. dr. siegel, terrific to see you. this, to me, was good news. the vast majority on the cruise, i think except children, were fully vaccinated. there are two cases but asymptomatic. isn't this evidence that the vaccine is doing what it promised? >> completely right, dagen. i like your take on this. don't forget, we have in our collective memory here the nightmare of the diamond princess ship at the beginning of the pandemic where literally cases rifled through the ship, and everyone said how dallas prophobic -- claustrophobic, and it's one of the last things we're letting go of. here we are, cruise ships reopening. they did a lot of very precaution their steps here. they said get a 72-hour nasal swab, pcr test, before you get

on, they're testing you when you're getting ready to get off from st. martin, about 500 passengers, all vaccinated, and only 2 got covid. that's even better than i might have predicted because, you know, it's very mild cases which is what you see with breakthrough cases. remember, the vaccine's about 95 effective, not 100%. but it doesn't look like it's spread through the ship which is an advertisement for cruising rather than, uh-oh, i better not go. dagen: but do you think, again, this cruise ship, these two cases, to me, this is hike -- like an amen-hallelujah success story which we were talking about. but do you think enough of that message has gotten out? because the media have a tendency to just go negative. it's like, oh, cases of covid. and do we as a nation, not just the medical community, but the

media, need to work on saying these vaccines work? if you do test positive for covid, that's the whole point of the vaccine is that you're not going to get terribly sick. either. >> dagen, we're doing a public service here right now in the way that we're talking about this. remember, cruise ships are close quarters, close confines, you know? small bathroom, you're sharing facilities. that's why norovirus goes rifling through a cruise ship. and, again, remains to be seen, they've got to follow everybody, but it looks like two cases, and they're in the same stateroom. this is an advertisement for the fact that we're getting over this, we're back. the thing that we really needed to test was cruise ships because of the close quarters. and you're right about the media. the media messages everything so it's fear, doom and gloom. of course, it gets ratings that way, right? but it's not public health. it's not fair, it's not accurate, and it's time that we try to get past that, because the whole pandemic has been characterized by that.

i was thinking could i go on a cruise ship? i see this story, i'm ready to go. i love st. martin. dagen: we should be shouting this from the mountaintops, literally are. just one more thing in terms of vaccinations. there was a cleveland clinic study that came out earlier and other studies about the immunity that you get from having had covid-19, you know, having a positive test as i did, that individuals who have had covid-19 infection are unlikely to benefit from vaccination, was what that cleveland clinic study of its own employees found. so why are all these venues like madison square garden insisting that, oh, you can only go to a concert if you've been fully vaccinated? well, i might have immunity that's as good right now as somebody who's fully vaccinated, but i can't go. >> it could even be better, we don't know. dagen: right. >> great point. we need to not have vaccine

passports, we need to have an antibody test. proof is a big word, i don't -- but the point is it's just as valid for you to be in a public venue as someone who's been vaccinated, because you have antibodies to the virus. now, down the road i might advertise or want you to have a booster, someone like you to have a booster because we don't know how long that immunity lasts. but certainly, it lasts at least a year, i'll tell you that, and it's natural immunity, and it's quite valid and probably as good as the vaccine. the vaccine may add a little extra if you get one shot on tom of it -- on top of it. dagen: and i have people who will not see me until i'm vaccinated even though i just had covid. i have people who, like, people are, like, lurching away from me, and i'm, like, i have immunity, right? particularly because i had covid less than 90 days ago. but to that point, do we also need to get that message out and to be clear it's not to

discourage people from greating vaccinated -- from getting vaccinated, it is to send the message that enough people either have immunity from vaccination or covid, that we should be wide open as an economy right now. >> that's absolutely right. if you put together the 63% who have had at least one shot plus natural immunity, we're over 80%. you look at florida, states like that, the case rate is going way down. somehow we got this turned on its head. i had meese ifings as a -- measles as a kid, i never got a measles shot. my immunity is stronger. i don't mean to age myself if, dagen. [laughter] we've been prejudiced against people who got covid, we've been stigmatizing it when we should be celebrating the immunity. dagen: i will get vaccinated, i am definitely -- i am going to be vaccinated. but in the interim, i'm not even allowed to be vaccinated yet. but in the interim, you know, some people have treated me like

but you've never within to the border. and she says, well, i've never been to europe either, i don't understand your point. cackle. when you watch these things, you can see why kamala harris in nearly 80 days since being named border czar, has not held a press conference, because she can't hold up to basic questions. you're in charge of this, when are you going to the boarder? look, she could be there the tonight, she could be there tomorrow. what is it, a three-hour flight from d.c.? she does not want to go there because it's probably a situation that she can't fix when you look at her past comments on the border as a senator when she compared i.c.e. to the kkk, when she said that legal crossings should be made legal. so, look, if this is her top priority, why isn't she going there? it's because she'd have the talk to border officials and see these migrant facilities and realize that she has no solutions whatsoever to just keep saying we're going to look at the root causes and, well, climate change is driving this. i'm sorry, that's nothing tangible, dagen.

dagen: well, and she cut off this reporter. and the reason the woman -- she just said i'm not finished. the reason the woman interjected is because of the delay. and just like with lester holt, the vice president isn't prepared to answer a very basic question. and it looks -- how is she not ready for prime time? shoot, daytime? >> yep. she announced she was running for president in january of 2019. she was the first democratic candidate to announce. remember, she was concerned one of the top favorites. well, guess what? you can't even call her a 2020 presidential candidate because she never got to 2020. she had to drop out in december of 2019, then had this strange notion that it was either race or gender was the reason why she wasn't polling well which is a really funny way to talk about democratic voters. so, look, the numbers are the numbers here. we are seeing border crossings at its highest in 21 years.

reasons why crime is spiking the way it is. it is that police officers are not allowed to do their jobs, they're retiring in droves. nobody who would be a terrific police officer will step up and maybe go to the academy. i've heard that from longtime veterans, that they don't want their children joining the police department. it is draining people out of rikers island and putting criminals back on the street. particularly, it's the bail reform where you can punch out an elderly woman in the face, and you're right back out on the street. i go on. but i look at new york city, and i'm concerned that if someone other than maybe eric adams, who is a former police officer, wins the nomination, the ultimate mayor, that if it's somebody on the left like this, this could lead the rest of the country down the path to hell where there is no crime fighting. >> yeah.

i mean, it's -- the police in this country do an incredibly dangerous job, right? the police in new york city not only do a dangerous job, they're the greatest law enforcement agency in, i think, the history of the world. and the point that you make is so apt because the idea of saying we're going to take away their guns implicitly says we don't trust them, right in we think there's something wrong. we think there's something bad about the police, so they can't be trusted with guns. and, yeah, when you send that message, you're not going to have people sign up to be cops. and, look, the city is already becoming more dangerous. we all feel it. everybody who lives here can feel it as they walk down the street. and you're right, if one of the crazies becomes mayor, it's going to get worse, and people who are as old as i am remember how bad it can be. and how bad it can be is literally over 1,000 murders a
