>> the big problem are seen in the market, we have a lot of information that is being muddied and people are panicking. unfortunately because of poor communication, the delta variant makes up 60% of new covered 19 infections throughout the united states, not infections but stars kobe to infections, were seen arising cases in certain areas there is a small uptick in hospitalizations as well over the last three weeks or so we've gone from 15000 hospitalizations to 25000. while those are not the same numbers during the first and second wave were seen above but hospitalization. here's good news when it comes to the delta variant, the vaccines are absolutely working against it there keeping people out of the hospital and saving lives, 97% of the people who are hospitalized are unvaccinated, 99.5% of the people who have died from covid-19 since january

science to back it up, what do they have a 16% plus one dose vaccination rate test positivity 3% or less, 2.5% the hospitals are not stressed from covid, the public needs to feel like public health officials are making moves on the science, i don't feel like that exist in l.a. county there's a lot of people saying why are they doing that, is it a reflux is not based on science, it is confusing and that's leading into the has it's easy that exist. elizabeth: what do you say doctor saphier. >> i agree completely, there is a great uncoupling affect that is going on right now if you look at the numbers in the uk there is a big surge, their fatality rate went from 2% in the first wave to 0.1% right now with so many people vaccinated or naturally immune that is happening in the united states producing arising cases but you won't see the rise in hospitalization and death, that's because we have so many people immune at this point,

it's important to remember if you put forth the mask mandates, what people are going to say i thought we will follow the science, if the cdc is not recommending it's really hard to hop on the bandwagon and what we have to do is stop over testing were testing way too many individuals and asymptomatic and need to be vaccinated, there's no reason to test these individuals they should not be counted as new cases they should be counted as immune success stories they're not transmitting to other people and they're not getting sick themselves. elizabeth: that's a great point, let's move on to the story, dr. fauci told cnn if the u.s. had this much disinformation during the battle against polio polio would still likely be around today, dr. fauci told cnn of march of last year a vaccine that you may contested a year is not a vaccine that's deployable, he's had a lot of foot pops. why are people surprised when
