investors need a bitcoin etf, videogame stocks had a rocky week, what in the donkey kong is going on in the industry and how should investors react we begin as always with three things investors should be thinking about right now the july jobs report showed a game of 943,000 jobs, hot diggity dog but what does it mean for the labor shortage, inflation in stocks, wild swings for robinhood since it went public last week is it a meta- mean stock also what the heck is a meta- meat and no metamucil but i don't think that is related. jack: sometimes i wonder if
11:32 am
that's going to be good or bad good for stocks, i guess good good, what do you think. >> this is fantastic, it was a kind of good, not only do the coming 900,000 jobs in july, but 900,000 jobs in july but the due number was advised and these are the kinds of numbers everyone expected to see for a while and they're finally coming in that helps all stocks particularly sensitive ones, s&p 500 at all-time highs, and then it was down friday at a near all-time high across-the-board this is the numbers that we wanted to see. jack: i was gonna make you a good new sandwich and bombs in the middle but it looks depressingly low but the cup tire on the jobs report, what do you make of that. >> yields have been very weird
11:33 am
they continue at face value and go down and that usually means things will be bad with the economy but the fed has been buying so many bonds that it's hard to know if it's a case of being a buyer who doesn't care about price pushing the prices up and away. in this case the bond market after the way that you hope the bond yield rose quite a bit. they fallen below 1.1 and 3% earlier this week and finished up close to 1.3% that's a great move and what we want to see. jack: have we reached earnings and how long do we get to stay here. >> earnings were great but we knew they would be great because things were so bad one year ago the numbers are almost doubling the numbers from a year ago, what people want to see they want to see solid earnings growth not from 2020 but 2019 and no looking closely and looking at margins and if companies are able to deliver solid growth the stocks are being rewarded in the markets
11:34 am
there would be corrections on the way of the earnings continue to grow the way that they are the market should keep heading higher. jack: let me go to you, robinhood had it rocky start but is been shooting higher lately, what do you make of the valuations, does it make any sense to you you can tell me read it, emojis, to trace. >> the stock is up 72% since the ipo that was not much more than a week ago of 50% since wednesday i can't make an evaluation call in this market but i can tell you that a disappointing ipo it was worth about $30 billion, now it's worth about $50 billion, these are big numbers considering that the company makes most of its money on payments for order flow which we talked about before but really what you need to know it's under a regulatory clock, there's no way to know what the future for robinhood hold. jack: i have not seen signs that
11:35 am
the excitement is spreading with the memes stocks, have you and what to her friends at market watch mean when they called it a meta- mean stock. >> that's a great name, i don't think there are signs that is spreading it seems like gamestop in amc are the favorite stocks and all the attention has gone to robinhood in the past week. then i mean, what do they mean the idea that everything is come full circle. so robinhood is still debated the meaning craze, it really helps retail investors, now robinhood is the meta- meme idea. jack: month some companies are putting that off what do you think it means does it stretch our recovery up? >> i think it definitely has some uncertainty into the real pretty we have amazon, blackrock and apple pushing their return to work landslide by a month or
11:36 am
even to 2022 as you mentioned what that means for the businesses that support workers, the businesses that reliant commuter traffic, recovery is going to take a while to get to the pre-pandemic level it does stretch the reopening but also the longer we have the work environment it's going to exist past the pandemic and be more permanent way of working. >> or cover story is about this move in the office there was some flex work stop pics let's get to one or two of them, weight watchers i think i know what the appeal is i'm going to hide my chin fat while you break it down for us. >> i'm in a second while i talk, for those who are going back to work the realizing the dresses might not fit as much so they might turn to weight watchers but weight watchers is called ww no it's more of a healthy lifestyle, theft act now with coaching, recipes, athletics and things like that. jack: another thing hudson
