al qaeda, isis, are among 20 terror groups inside of afghanistan. 5500 terror attacks since april. thousands have been killed. your reaction to that report? we're seeing women pushed back to the 7th century in afghanistan. forced marriages with teenagers too with taliban any terrorists. what do you say about that? >> that is horrifying again. i've been hearing from people on the ground. i was just in afghanistan in june. went over there on commercial airlines to be with the afghan people. we have to do better as a nation. this is the time for our nation to work to the future. we have toying put out what went wrong, move forward and get our people off the ground we are better as america and all the -- go ahead. elizabeth: no, go ahead. finish your thought. >>, just we have to get work and do better again. i am seeing a lot of blaming.

i want to see action. i want to see what we do next. make sure we learn from this and that more servicemembers are put in this situation where detached from something like this. people have given so much. elizabeth: we hear you. >> for our hearts which is america. elizabeth: we hear the emotion in your voice, jane. you're upset right now what you're seeing, right? >> of course i am upset. it is horrifying. i haven't slept in four-days. i finally slept last night. i've been on the phone with 400 calls yesterday from servicemembers trying to get their translators out. this is, you know, this isn't red or blue. this is something as a country we got to fix. if we don't start looking at us as a whole of this country we'll never fix it. and so you know, when i lost my husband i started investing in the military community and the afghan people. my community of military completely is broken. afghan people are in shambles right now. their hearts are broken. all i have left is my country. i don't want to see it so

divided because all we have is each other. i don't care what you think. i don't care if you're democrat or republican, you are my people. we will come together as a nation. we will learn from this. we will do better. elizabeth: people would say that is exactly the message we need to hear now, congressman. you know in order to come together so we can stop getting distracted with division and you know, disunity. it is, in order to come together to avoid the mistakes. we have nsa sullivan today, he wouldn't answer why biden reportedly ignored generals and intelligence reports. why did the u.s. give up bagram air force base to the taliban? you know, the nsa sullivan he admitted the taliban has quote a fair amount of our military hardware. we're talking guns, ammunition, helicopters. listen to this from the pentagon presser yesterday. watch this. >> there is no u.s. actions being taken to prevent equipment from falling into the hands of the taliban by destroying or

anything else? >> i don't have the answer to that question. elizabeth: what do you think? >> look i agree with his horton. we need to get past the blame eventually but we have to find out exactly why this happened. i hope in the house we have hearings, bring people in, figure out what information was passed to the president. did he not get the information? did he ignore the information? who dropped the ball. i think people need to be held responsible and move on. we obviously got some people in certain roles that are incapable of you know doing their job because wouldn't let this happen. we need to figure out what happened. we need to refocus. we need to keep our eye on the ball. for for inaffairs, since i've been in congress january 3rd. we not talked about things like this. we've been talking about gender no, nomenclature, white supremacy and extremism in the military, critical race theory. we're not talking about issues

important to us for our national security. we've got to get back. we have to protect this nation first and foremost. we have to come together as democrats and republicans. we have to take our national security seriously. elizabeth: okay. we hear you loud and clear. democrat senator jack reed of armed services, he is going, talking about launching hearings after we evacuate our americans. you know reports are coming in that you know, this was a, of course a fast taliban take over that the biden administration didn't see coming. that is the question, even last month, jane, the president was putting out statements this would not be like the fall of saigon when it did turn into that. he has been criticized in the past. he has been vice president sate years, senate foreign relations as a senator during this 20 year fight in afghanistan. remember president obama said he biden opposed the raid that killed osama bin laden.

this is about who is leading us and whether or not they're acting on the intelligence, right, jane? >> i'm not going to play the blame game. what is left of my heart cannot play the blame game. multiple administrations involved in this. incredible conversations happening right now. i ask the american people what happens again when we're divided, we don't pay attention to what is going on in the country. i noticed that for years. i get asked that all the time. we're still in afghanistan? 2 breaks my heart. people are leaving their families. people are dying. little babies are left behind. little girls lost their dad. we got to pay attention. our government represents whether we like it or not. elizabeth: we hear you. it is an important message. congressman, final word on this, why the intelligence failure? why? >> i don't know. we need to get to the bottom of

that. i don't know if there were intelligence failures, intelligence wasn't produced. but you know we've been around for in afghanistan for 20 years. we should have known, there are a lot of simple problems happen here. we should not have one way out of the country before we got everybody out. we should have kept a presence in bagram. we should have maintained the airfield and should have got people slowly over to bagram. got american citizens and afghan interpreters, everybody we need to get out of there. we should have started that process. should have drug out a long time so we were clear before we created this situation. now we're in a bad spot. we don't have a lot of good answers right now because we have the taliban controlling the perimeter. i don't know we can get the people in in time. i hope we can. i pray we can. elizabeth: thank you for your comments and thank you for your insights, jane horton and congressman ronny jackson, thanks for coming on and your service to our country. good to have you on. we'll have you back soon.

and gunshots are being heard fired in the neighborhoods inside of kabul. so this is happening right now, right as we speak. joining us now is georgia's austin scott from house armed services. congressman, your reaction to these developments right now and what the nsa said today? >> it's horrible. you flash across the bottom of your screen, that number was given us in june of 2021. so the fact that al qaeda was in 15 of 34 provinces in june. the whole world knew about it in june. it was in the united nations report. i've been to afghanistan. with some of the usa missions with the marines at forward operating bases. it breaks my heart to see what is happen in that country. i want miss horton and other gold star families what your family did mattered. we have not had terrorist attacks in the united states

since september 11th, that would have happened had men and women like her family and others who lost somebody in afghanistan had not gone over there and done what they did. elizabeth: okay, to recap we're in breaking news mode. we're hearing gunshots fired in residential areas in kabul and other areas of afghanistan. we have u.n. reports coming in that 20 terror groups are now inside of afghanistan. they have launched in 31 of the 34 provinces terror attacks and battles involving also al qaeda and isis. we need to recap this too. remember when, this is, what is going on in our government. remember president biden went after, he was then, not yet president. biden went after trump in 2017 when trump withdrew troops from syria saying trump empowered terrorists, abandoned our kurdish partners.

now biden is accused of that. what do you say to this? >> look, turkey was in the middle of an offensive. president trump operated, of the advice of our military commanders in removing the troops. i mean candidly the kurds had been extremely good partners. we all felt extremely bad for the decision that had to be made but when you're in a war you know the enemy gets a vote as well. so i think the president trump listened to the military advisors. i think he followed the advice of military advisors. joe biden followed advice of his military advisors he would have been prepared for what is happening on the ground right now. he did not do that president trump listened to the military advisors where joe biden candidly simply did not. he listened to what the state department people told him. that he could trust the taliban and doha agreement. elizabeth: trump also hit back hard at syria after syria gassed

back to even august the 11th , the, the people in afghanistan for the united states at our embassy were putting out press releases about the usaid mission in bringing education. there is complete refusal to accept facts on the ground from washington, d.c., and from the president of the united states and candidly congress needs to be back in washington getting the facts. i heard what miss horton said very clearly. i don't want to fight with the biden administration. what i want is the facts. i want to know what we'll do with regard to the intelligence pushing forward, not yesterday but i want to know tomorrow what are we going to do with the intelligence that we need to keep america safe from al qaeda and other terrorist organizations that now have safe haven in afghanistan. they not only have the geography to operate but will have the finances to operate now. elizabeth: congressman austin scott, thank you so much for joining us, really appreciate it. >> thank you so much, ma'am.

rising at the fastest rate in four decades. it is absolutely unbelievable and it is all on the backs of the working class. elizabeth: infrastructure is now in limbo. there is talk there may be a vote next week on a 3 1/2 trillion dollar bill first before the infrastructure bill. there is nine to 10 house moderate democrats will say no to that. pelosi can't lose three of them or it all goes kablooy. rett's go back to afghanistan, even before it happened there, bide's numbers on economy were dropping. majority of polls say the nation is on the wrong track. when you talk about what is going on with the green energy deal inside of infrastructure and republicans and other economists are saying china will benefit from the trillions of dollars that is headed toward green infrastructure, green energy as thousands here lose their jobs in oil and gas and the keystone pipeline and coal mines. so you know, it is, people are saying what are you doing?

accountable but congress will have to lay down the law. there is a lot of talk about repealing section 230. the fact that facebook is buying ads in business publications encouraging congress to repeal section 230 makes me think this might not hold the big tech companies accountable like we want. i think we're going to have to look at the sec fining companies like twitter who refuse to do anything about terrorists who continue to use their platform. this was a big part of the taliban communicating with people and allowing them to take over kabul and i just don't see how members of congress can continue to sit back and allow big tech to continue to censor conservatives but work with terrorists. elizabeth: you know, congressman, the taliban is using twitter and whatsapp to actually establish control over afghanistan. the taliban spokesman has

emerson college and san diego tribune. gavin newsom is now telling voters in california it's a quote matter of life or death if he is not reelected. what do you say to this. >> he is desperate. the polls are moving away from him, the poll showed 51-40 in favor of recall. the california model kamala harris calls it is failing in california. we have the highest gas prices. worst homelessness and crime in california. 65% of californians say crime is rising. a staggering poll in a blue state. all the issues are moving against him including the tragedy of the northern fires and out handing pizzas in san diego, not helping those fires. elizabeth: and also high taxes and regulation. you know, it is interesting the new swing voters are democrats who are undecided. this is going to be about turnout. now you see 25% are saying we don't know who we're going to

vote for. republicans are they the ones who are more motivated to vote right now inside of california? what do you think? >> 100%. all the polls show including our internal polls at rescuecalifornia.org show republicans at around 80 to 84% with democrats down around 30%. the reason for that, as he wrote about fox news, they don't personally like gavin newsom. never has done anything. doesn't visit state voters and care for them but beyond that they live in areas that are ravaged by homelessness and ravaged by crime and news some is doing very well to nothing about it. so they're fed up. these issues across the state, lack of water, fires, crime, gas prices, all these things are hurting working class democrats and they don't like gavin newsom and that's why he is in so much trouble. elizabeth: well it is striking that the swing voters of the undecided democrats say they may not even go out to vote.

that is what is really striking. usually the democrats are fired up in california. to your point what you're saying is now, what we're seeing is top democrats in the party, nancy pelosi, white house, now, very worried that gavin newsom could lose. it would be the second governor, democrat governor who is pushed out following andrew cuomo. we don't know what is going to happen yet but this is what is happening. you know when you talk about the wildfire, the biggest in california history, year after year we keep hearing historic, gigantic fires, the biggest in history, we keep saying that year after year. they keep getting bigger. what is going on with forest mismanagement in california and the way california saves water? it doesn't save water for non-rainy day, that is what you talk about. can you talk to us quickly about that? >> sure. this is 20 years in the making. they haven't managed the forests. it is overgrown across much of the state, mostly in the north. because it is built up so much, they're so far behind and newsom

well the fall of afghanistan has been heard around the world germany, france, the uk reacting the president gave until a printed script yesterday, he blamed trump, the afghan government, he blamed afghan people for not leaving when tens of thousands wanted to leave biden could have renegotiated trump's withdrawal deal but he did not and we forgot to blame the taliban in his speech here's the thing 22 groups are operating inside afghanistan what's to say anyone of those groups could say to somebody one of the members go to the southern border paid a human smuggler, go into the u.s., what is to stop that? >> there is nothing to stop that and that is a big vulnerability we have an open border and we know it's no longer people from central america or mexico as people from 50 or 70 countries coming for the southern border.
